A short pelted, warm gray tabby molly with light blue eyes, white paws and a white belly. 

Deerleap is a very old molly and often jokes that she’s aiming to challenge the record for the longest living cat in all four clans. Including Nightstar’s reign, she’s lived through four leaderships and seen many good cats rise and fall throughout all the clans. She’s a welcomed presence in many circles for her wisdom and calm demeanor. Lately she’d begun to complain that she’s too old to be making the journey to Fourtrees during Gatherings though she’s sad that she won’t see her friends in other clans anymore.

She’s always been very proud of Yellowfang - both as a warrior apprentice and as a medic. She’d always noticed that the young kit seemed to have an innate sense of knowing when another cat was hurt and privately reported this to Sagewhisker who told her to monitor her. As such, she was the only cat unsurprised when Yellowfang eventually declared that she’d be becoming a medic. She was fairly relieved in fact as it meant that her former apprentice wouldn’t be allowed to keep Raggedpelt as a mate. She always disliked the way the tom treated her and hated having to rebuild Yellowfang’s confidence in herself after an encounter with the tom.

Deerleap lived her days under Raggedstar’s reign in peace but struggled when Brokenstar became leader. Every time it rained, she felt all of her joints aching and frequently came down with colds that Yellowfang was quick to treat. When she first settled into the camp, she attempted to participate in the daily tasks needed to keep up with the elder’s outskirt camp, but when it became clear that she was injuring herself, she was told in no uncertain terms that she’d long ago earned the right to rest and be taken care of.

Unable to spend her time doing nothing, Deerleap often crept off to take walks through ShadowClan territory and enjoyed the freedom she felt striding through the marsh. On one of these walks, she came across a small kit named Pine who claimed to have run from a massacre a long way away. Deerleap didn’t hesitate to bring her back with her for the elders to care for. Pine really latched onto her - something she didn’t mind - and taught her all the hunting skills and battle moves she could manage.

She cheered for Pinepaw the loudest when Nightstar announced that she was one of their newest apprentices and she hopes that Yellowfang can see her from StarClan, knowing that their clan got their heads out of their rears.

Deerfoot finally passed after Pinepounce recieved her warrior name from Mousefever. She now watches her clan with worry and hope from the Meadows.
