greetings creatures and cryptids, I’m redsugar, most people call me tangtang! for those of you who already know me, it’s probably either from 1) the hanfu discord server run by my sister Yulan and myself, 2) Cloud9 hanfu on Etsy (yayyyy) or 3) NewHanfu, the site on which I wrote like fifty articles three years ago (do not trust those articles they are full of errors).

for those of you who don’t know me, hi!!!!! I’m an artist and hanfu enthusiast, any pronouns, student in the US, Taiwanese-American.

This blog has been formed in an attempt to organize the research I have done over the past few years on hanfu in a place that is easily accessed and navigated by those seeking information, as well as to document my artistic process and clear up mistakes in my old articles from several years back.

yeah I have zero promises about consistency of content posted or anything. will try to cover most of the content from the articles I wrote in the past, just so that there’s an up-to-date info source somewhere, but I’m a full time student and also have to run Cloud9 + the discord server, so it’s not gonna be a huge priority right now, I just wanted to get started. that might change in the future though! stay tuned ig???

I’m so disappointed...

Well it’s happened... Someone has blatantly plagiarized one of #RedSugarSlashers works on AO3 and is even making money off of it. It’s sickening, this is such a huge disrespect to her and her work. This is not what anyone would want after being cyber bullied off any platform, a person’s work is sacred and to see it so obviously misused and even profited off of it even worse... I’m angry, again! And they even have the gull to write that it was inspired by her? Huge slap in the face.

Others have even told them that it wasn’t their work and what do they do? Change their name 3 times and even ‘edited’ out the parts that were literally copy-pasted onto the page. And now their comments are set to moderate out anyone who has a say in their shifty work.

This is the story. It is a direct copy of The Watcher by #Redsugarslasher or starsinthesnow if you remember her AO3 name. If you don’t remember the story it is about a reader insert who comes across a wounded Myers and takes care of him up until the point where they do the do. Many have already tried to tell them to remove the story because this isn’t what she would have wanted at all and would be devastated that someone is using her old work for profit. I mean... fuck, may as well kick her while she’s down.

So to those still out there that had cared about her work, or were inspired by it head on over to AO3 and kindly ask that they take down the story out of respect of a great artist. If they don’t listen to reason there, or just outright ignore you since their comments are monitored, they also have a tumblr  here under the name of grandpas-cheesebarn, again ask nicely. We really don’t need another cyber bully attack, even if it seems they deserve it for what they’ve done, it’s still not something we should do. Considering RedSugar was chased off by it...

We’re better than that.

Below is also an interesting comment he made back on a post about the loss of redsugar. He clearly has access to a Myers story and is also happy to share it without her permission.

After all the cyber attacks and bullying Redsugar went through I can’t imagine how a theft like this would hurt her. It’s like nothing is sacred. Redsugar went through hell for no good reason and yet there are still people like this offering to distribute her work without her permission and then outright stealing her creations and claiming them as their own. Shameful.

Just woke up not that long ago and found out that redsugarslashers had deleted their tumblr and AO3 blogs!? Does anyone know what happened before they deleted them ( i know it’s about the attacks to their accounts but i thought that had stopped ) ???

Hey sorry to bother but I remember you followed redsugarslashers and I wanted to ask whether you have some of her works saved! I really want to re-read some of her works but I only have ‘Feast’ and ‘Angel’. I’d really love to read ‘The Suitor’, some headcanons and Harry Warden fics. Please tell me you have something 😢

Unfortunately, Anon, I have nothing of her works... I never really thought to save anything as I guess I naively thought there was no reason for her to leave. All that’s left is a few vague memories of her stories and that’s about it. I’m sorry I really wish I had anything but I guess for the future if you love someone’s story just save it for yourself like a picture. Though don’t go reposting it again on other medias/platform but that should be obvious. Not saying that you would but I know some less than decent people might thinking it’s a good idea when clear the writer, redsugar herself, wouldn’t want that.
