Reading this as someone who has OCD is interesting bc like I totally agree depending on the context.

The thing about anxiety disorders is ERP is the treatment... Exposure Response Prevention. (so the goal for me would be exposure to a trigger then not ruminating or compulsions and then I can self reflect and do better when Im not in fight or flight mode)

You know what's the worst thing for my OCD is tho? Reassurance seeking. I think that's true wether I'm a good person or not. And it also is worse for those around me.

One of my themes is harm (both self and to others). The bad thing to do would be constantly checking if I hurt someone or seeking their approval. It gets me stuck in a loop. Trying to reassure myself that I'm not a 'bad' person is the exact opposite of what I should be doing.

idk the examples in the other comments reminded me of that. Obviously there r lots of different ways brains work.

But constantly reassuring someone with anxiety that they aren't a bad person doesn't actually help (which is why traditional therapy didn't work for me)

every post i see that's like "if you're scared of being like [bad person] that's means you're better than them and won't be like them" and it's like. lmao. my dad used to have crying sessions where he would confess his fear of being like his mother and causing me to grow up to hate him. usually after he did something fucking awful, to redirect the attention to his own pain. the girl who sexually assaulted me had panic attacks sometimes about the idea of maybe being a rapist, making it impossible to set sexual boundaries with her without her freaking out. whether you're afraid of being some kind of bad person has basically no bearing on whether you are that way

I agree with you, Hamliet. Overall, Naruto have a better story compared to BNHA. But, I'm glad that at least BNHA ended with no canon pairing (it's refresing compared to other big fandom shounen, like Naruto and Bleach).

So, you said in your post "That because of "loud" (BKDK) shippers, Hori scared to made Izuku/Ochaco canon." Can I ask, why do you think that? It's a het ship, cutest couple (yes, even if I'm BKDK shipper, I can say that IzuOcha is a cute ship), and one of the best dynamic in the series.

I mean, as long time Naruto fan, I realized that there are big fandom for NaruSasu shippers. When I was younger, I did not understand why people ship NaruSasu, until now I became NaruSasu shipper myself. But even if there are a lot of Dj, cd drama, merch, etc made by NaruSasu Shippers, Naruto still ending with Naruto/Hinata and Sasuke/Sakura, right? What is the difference between NaruSasu shippers and BakuDeku shippers?

There isn't a difference between shippers! It's just that there's a difference with authors.

No, Naruto didn't fulfill everything it set out to do, but it still landed where the author had always planned it: Sasuke and Naruto hashing it out, the couples together.

Horikoshi did none of that. I've said before that he was a wishy-washy writer trying to please everyone, but in the end he kind of gave up. And that's sad, but also spineless writing that has resulted in people being genuinely hurt by the messages sent about abuse victims, ableism, etc.

I don't think Bakudeku was ever a canon option, much like Narusasu, but are the mangakas aware of it as they write it? Absolutely.

The thing about ships is that you should not introduce a canon dynamic into a story with a romantic element unless that romantic element matters for the story. This doesn't have to mean "will be canon" but that's the most common way to explore it. Izuocha had that.

Ochaco just... sat on her feelings for 8 years and barely contacted Deku? That makes absolutely no sense for a guy she supposedly loves. If he rejected her, why wasn't that onscreen? Why was this even a plot point if the story didn't do anything with it? What is the reason for seemingly just dropping it?

Most likely? The same reason the rest of the story fails to make any kind of significant statement about anything: he doesn't want to upset anybody so confirms nothing. No one wins. Unfortunately that means no one is happy.

It's not shippers' fault. It's not even the worst decision made in this manga ending by top 20. It's just more of the "all for naught" message that Horikoshi unintentionally sent.

These are just my loose thoughts! Honestly there are so many ways this could pan out, and I think if Katsuki kicked it into gear with one of his speeches he could convince the knights to shut their mouths lol.

For one, I think before the King started attacking him, Izuku was trying his best to convince the knights that magic is not inherently evil, and that just because Himiko has magic does not mean she is a villain out to do harm. He’s trying to teach them pacifism.

Now, say JUST as Izuku is starting to convince them he uses black whip to kill the king. knights have a code of honour but their FIRST and foremost duty is to protect the King. Hence while Katsuki and Himiko and Ochako wouldn’t hesitate in protecting Izuku, the knights would turn on them because of this. Knights are noble, and Izuku is ALL about nobility. But if he killed the king it would’ve been the wrong thing to do according to their (and his) code.

In this situation I think our gang would immediately have to go on the run 😭

In terms of Himiko: the second Izuku does it I reckon she’ll understand why Katsuki wanted to stop her from killing the King. It’ll become a stain on Izuku: on his conscience, on his relationship with Katsuki. The guilt will kill him, and he’ll eventually retreat into himself again. All that progress on loving himself and accepting himself will be gone, while also having to come to terms with his weird fixation on Katsuki that will make him cross any lines. She’ll feel bad.

I wonder how things would settle in this alternate reality?? You could make Izuku find peace eventually and atone, or make him lean into it and a little yandere. Either way they’ll defo end up together (they’re soulmates 🙂‍↕️❤️), the question is how toxic you wanna make it….. 😼

And AHHH!! Thank you for following the P&P AU. Instead of torturing BKDK with magic or quirks I get to torture them with inheritance laws and gender dynamics 😈 so it’s very refreshing for me too haha. ok, first off, i love your game of thrones work, and because i am tb (i acknowledge all of nyra's faults and that's kinda what makes me like the character, she is pretty unapologetic and i love it because i cannot afford to be same without consequences) i was kinda wary of starting your hotd projects. my experience with tg hasn't been the best most of the time they're raging misogynists or simply thirst over the tg actors. but today i did check out your work with awme and boy was i enchanted. you write so beautifully and your takes on both tg and tb characters were so nuanced that i stayed and gave a try to your other hotd works.

I honestly really enjoyed Rhaenyra in season 1 , especially the first half and her final scene in season 1 made me excited to see where they would take her for season 2, but the writing was so bad all around I’m honestly probably not even going to watch season 3 until it’s well over. Still haven’t seen the last two episodes of season 2.

I fell in love with Alicent because picking at my nail beds and fingernails was my form of self harm when I was her show age. Got MRSA because of it (don’t look that up, it is very gross and would not suggest anyone look at pictures). I had never seen that so explicitly shown in media before so I just imprinted on Alicent as a character.

AWME is my more balanced fic when it comes to the two teams, but I think that’s because it’s after the war and everyone is trying to pick up the pieces “winners” and “losers” alike.

I’ve had quite a few bad run ins with TB, to be honest. Reviewed quite a bit of hate, saying things about how I should have very awful things happen to me and so forth. And that I deserve to be raped and what not. I deleted those asks of course. I think there are bad eggs on both sides of the fandom tbh and because of that, a lot of people react in anger and overcompensate with hate toward the other team’s characters.

But I’m a Sansa fan, and I got just as much hate before I even openly discussed the fandom on here. Heck, after two or three years on the app, I wrote one post about hoping Political!Jon was true just after season 7 ended and I got a flood of hate when I had barely gotten even a handful of asks prior. So the hate I got from hotd fans didn’t hit me as hard because I was (sadly) used to it.

Day one: Entrance Act

I've tried my best to make it without refresing 'cus when I googled it the only result was about a test called ACT. It's not my best painting, but I was in a rush since I forgot about this until now so.. yeah it makes sense.

I also gave up after painting the main stage, so I just made some blobs around and tried my best to make it look like a theatre...

okay so in kiss the girl, football player wonyoung has the biggest crush on head cheerleader y/n whos super sweet and giving and basically super wel known and liked

but the schools soccer team hasnt won a game in years, which makes their school look weak in the sports area.

anyways, the girls on the soccer team(yujin, gaeul, leeseo, minji, haerin, danielle, yunjin, sakura, kazuha, yena, lily, haewon, winter, ningning, ryujin, yeji, and yuna)(its a big team) find out, they come up with this plan to basically get wonyoung to ask y/n out.

later on, at an event with their rival school, wonyoung makes the dumb mistake of saying that not only would their school win every game against the rival school this season, but they would also win the state championship;

and of course, she happens to annouce this very loudly in front of y/n, who not only is head cheerleader, but really wants to see their school’s team win as its the only active sports team.

so now the team is partially mad at wony and her big mouth, but they end up training really hard for it.

and winter’s girlfriend karina, who is a cheerleader with y/n(along with liz, sullyoon, hanni, chaewon, chaeryeong, and some other girls) who happens to know that wony likes y/n cuz her gf has a big mouth ends up convincing y/n to go to some of the practice with her to big refresments and stuff like that

and wony is trying to like look cool and stay focused

but its so hard bc y/n is literally burning a hole into her head with her stare

and maybe its because she literally swore up and down that they would win the championship in front kf her

did i also mention that y/n’s mom is an alumni at the school and her senior year was the last time the school won a game? no?

So.... about Gojo--he is alright. I just don't find him or his character archetype relatable (except for when he died). I've found that for me to care for a character I have to be able to self-insert to a certain extent. I need to vibe with them.

Ok before the top jjk moments... I haven't read/seen MDZS so I have no clue about these siblings. I googled it but all I got out of it is that one of them is adopted or something like that? What I'll say is that Megumi and Tsumiki straight up have bad luck.

Kinda interesting to think that maybe Megumi's bad luck is the "payment" he has to make for having a technique like 10s... (think FMA law of equivalent exchange in alchemy).

In no particular order but ofc anything Megumi is amongst my top moments.

Yuji faces his mortality

When I saw this scene in the anime I was very impressed that Gege would go there because I've seen enough shonen anime to know that Yuji's reaction, as a shonen mc, was real af. I knew jjk was special because of this moment.

Chimera Shadow Garden

This moment knocked the air out of me. Everything from Gojo's words to Megumi and how they were exactly what he needed to hear, to Megumi showing us the beast he keeps tucked away in his shadow.

This moment is why I read jjk.

Gospel of Sukuna

This is a more general one. Thing is, the aura is cool and all, but I love seeing the source of the aura, Sukuna's mindset and sense of self, just as much. His conversation with Yuji from ch. 214 is one of my favorites because it revealed A LOT about him, same for 238. The way he absolves others in death is *chef's kiss*.

Shirtless 2D Buddhist Monks Flex their Egos

Listen. I don't read jjk for the battles. Even though Gege tends to reveal a lot of important details during battles, I get bored with the battles actually. That said, I can still appreciate that, at its core, jjk really is about 2d shirtless Buddhist monks flexing their egos. Hakari vs. Kashimo is my favorite example of Gege's testosterone-driven brand of existentialism.

I'm You

I kinda speed-read through Shibuya when I picked up the manga because I just couldn't put it down, so this moment wasn't particularly impactful at the time. In retrospect, and partly thanks to MAPPA's fantastic handling of it, I LOVE Yuji coming to terms with all of him, even the parts he wanted to reject within himself (what Mahito represented to him). This is so depth psych.

Ego death

I literally had a tear rolling down my cheek when I saw this panel. On top of that, this moment is very depth psych too.

“Can you?” Liesel volleys back. 

Cerci smiles, wrinkling her nose teasingly. “No.” She admits. “It was quite the night, yes?” A surprise proposal- neither of them, thankfully, though when the ripples started in the crowd Cerci did instincitvely look for Liesel and that troublesome little rebel that was fascinated with her-, a wardrobe malfunction no one was quite sure if was accidental or staged, one suitor pushed into a fountain outside, and two new pregnancy whispers. The night had been exciting, even by normal season standards. Cerci’s night had gone as expected, she’d done as she should and allowed two men a chance to dance in between several dances with the magnetic and intelletucal Stefan Ivanov. 

“I didn’t see you much- the library?” Her sister preferred the company of books to the company of people and could often be found hiding out in the library when balls were held in homes with them available. Cerci on the other hand thrived in a crowd. Crowds were where she did some of her best work, her best digging, her best discoveries. Balls and the refresments provided, along with the general air of magic and festivity, lent loose lips to just about everyone present. 

Before she had met Stefan, balls had been a whirlwind of talking and listening and prying and probing and learning. Her personal gossip mill had gone slow in the wake of meeting Stefan, her attention and efforts almost completely diverted to the man.
