    In the back of the waiting room, Yunho has you all but cornered as the chaos of preparation continues around you.

    "Just a little, we're sold out." His eyes never leave yours, his hands finding your waist as you pull him into a hug.

     He came back to you with a searing kiss and drug you to the nearest bathroom, locking the door the second you were inside. He's always like this when his adrenaline is pumping.

     "Careful!" You yelp as he slams you to the wall, his hand cradling the back of your head so you don't hit it.

    "You aren't getting them back," he moans against your neck as he kisses and bites all over your skin. "Sorry, sweetheart, they're my lucky charm. I gotta add them to my collection."

    "You jerk," you chuckle as you push at his shoulders playfully, "I'm going to run out of underwear if you keep this up!"

He's scared for you.

He doesn't know how to say it, and even if he found the words for it, he'd never admit it outright. But the thought of you being put in danger by him or his Biografts drives him nuts. He has no idea why, even if he should be focusing on his experiments.

He already had a suspicion, what with you carrying a warm opaque bottle to work and feeling giddy after drinking it. He always thought it was whiskey, so while you were gone, he took a quick swig. Imagine his surprise when he realises you were drinking warm milk.

He decided, as an experiment, to give you a blanket while you were sleeping at your station. He wrapped it around you, sneering and chuckling obnoxiously to himself. And you didn't seem embarrassed, unaware that he was next to you, observing your behaviour.

He took note of the way you relaxed underneath the blanket, mumbling words like how a sleepy baby would. Suddenly, he was conflicted. You looked vulnerable, weak. He hated that. He hated weak things like you because they made him go soft on the inside.

He had intended to carry you back inside, but due to his rot, he knew he couldn't, so he decided to wake you up instead.

“ Get up!! Come on, you stupid… Ugh… You stupidly adorable… Stupid!! Just!! Get up!! You're sleeping in the cold snow, it's not scientifically healthy!! Get the hell inside!! ”

Compared to most Blackrockians, he's openly protective of you but also very strict with you. Rules have been set when he decided to become your caretaker.

1: Rules are meant to be followed, any orders that do not come from Subspace T. Mine (or Papa) are to be disregarded or reported to him! 2: Mealtimes are strictly at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. If mealtimes have been missed, tell Subspace when you want to eat and why you missed the original mealtime. 3: Clothes will be provided by Subspace T. Mine for protection in the laboratory. 4: Do not touch anything if you are regressed and in the laboratory unless you are supervised by the Biografts or Subspace T. Mine himself. 5: If you need help, just ask. Subspace T. Mine will do his best to assist you.

Any rules set would change with events, but for now, it worked for Subspace.

He would never yell at you if you threw fits. Sure, he'll get visibly stressed and frustrated, and he'll even call you mean names… But after a bit, he'll hug you tightly, cradling you in his arms.

What the hell, you already had to bear the most painful childhood burden… Why was he adding to it with his insults?

Instead of yelling at you or verbally abusing you, he'll cup your face and nuzzle his nose against your forehead, with his voice uncharacteristically soft.

“ I'm sorry for yelling at you, snowball. Hey, if it makes you feel better, I'm making some warm milk later. Eh? Eh? Eey, that's what I'm talking about!! Subspace T. Mine never fails to cheer you up, no? Awh, I'm such a good dad!! Come on, let me make it up to you!! "

He prepares your meals beforehand, as he's always busy with experiments and whatnot, so he can't get his chemical-stained hands on your food. He makes the Biografts babysit you, and worries over every small report.

But he likes hearing you call and tell him about your day. To be honest, it makes his day a thousand times brighter than the crystal ever could. Hearing you babble on and on about what the Biografts did and what you read, it makes him smile beneath the mask he wears.

He's also made some small inventions to make your life easier. If you can't walk, no problem! He's got you some robotic limbs that kinda work like Doctor Octopus' robot limbs. If that's too hard, he's just got a small cart that the Biograft can push you in.

Speaking of, he likes to push you around in that cart and go speeding. Sure, it's reckless, but if it makes you laugh, he'll do it. (He also laughs with you!)

He's played dress up with you before!! It's only because he's got an immaculate fashion sense, and boy, does it show with your fluffy outfits! Hey, he wants to look good, but he can't risk either of you falling sick, now, can he?

“ That's it!! Now, give Papa a little twirl…!! YES!!!! That's a lovely little model we got right here, chief!! Augh, I really am the best!! Look at you, snowball!! You're Papa's little diva, ain't you?? ”

No hugs and praise in public, but SFOTH, if he doesn't do it incessantly at home. He'll forget you have boundaries until you cry out, telling him he's hugging too tightly or you're not in the mood. He'll chuckle and apologise, but go right to cooking or doing anything else for you.

He may be the top scientist of Blackrock. He may be the best to ever exist in the scientific realm, but when it comes to you, he's stumbling and making mistakes.

But you're worth making mistakes for; otherwise, why would he be taking care of you?

Scythe never wanted to admit it to anyone, as she's known for her serial murders, but she's always wanted children of her own.

She longed to cradle a child in the arms she had that bore the hands that stained the Faction grounds with thick layers of crimson blood.

Every time she thought of wanting a child, she felt sick to her stomach. The cognitive dissonance tore her apart from the inside. How could she bring life when all she does is wipe the same life from the face of Inphernal? Knowing she had that power, it made her nauseous.

What if she were to kill her own child?

It brought her to tears multiple times, and she's woken up from nightmares thinking about it at all. The Church doesn't really pay attention to this distress, but if she had brought it up to Broker, he'd just say to her that maybe she needed to seek the Overseer for some more advice, but other than that…

“ Just ignore it, Scythe! It's all part of the job! ”

Medkit picks up on the motherly behaviour at times. He notices Scythe preparing laundry for him when he's too tired to clean himself, and she cooks for him at times.

He's asked about this, but Scythe dodges the questions as best as she can. Which leads to some graceful exchanges.

“ I've noticed you folded my clothes for me. ” “ It's all jus' part ‘o my job, ’Kit. ” “ You needn't do that, though, why do it now? ” “ Jus' noticed 'ya were tired. ” “ (I didn't say anything to her…) ”

But Medkit doesn't push for answers; if she won't answer, she doesn't have to, and he doesn't answer her either.

Scythe has strolled through Crossroads for some breaks here and there, but at times, she sees a mother with her child. It fills her with an intense feeling. Not anger, it's something more potent than a violent rage.

Sorrow.

She couldn't have any children as her Gear was modified to hell and back. The kid would come out malformed, at least, that's what she feared. She could give less of a damn if the child was broken physically, she'd care for it either way—even if the chances of death were high.

But seeing other mothers giving their children a normal life, it's heartbreaking to her. Why can't she have that life? The Church promised her that life, but all she's done is kill kill kill kill kill kill kill kill—

“ Scythe? What are you doing in Crossroads? ” “ GAH! Awh… ‘Kit… Don’t jus' scare me like that. I could'a wrung 'yer neck. ” “ … You were looking at that family, don't tell me you're planning— ” “ ‘Kit, I do my job, I don’ just kill innocents ‘fer the hell of it. ”

Medkit put two and two together. He was able to figure it out, with her hand hovering over her stomach area, before she started to fiddle with her Gear. His expression softened at her brief vulnerability, even if it was for a split second.

Scythe then, after a bit more mulling and musing, finally told Medkit about her dreams. It shocked him, after all, she's a serial killer, but he understood her anxiety about taking care of a kid. He couldn't think of the kid's future in the Church, and if Scythe didn't want to leave, SFOTH knows how the kid would end up if it were conceived.

So, of course, Medkit took the time to listen to Scythe venting about her dreams, and after some deliberation, he told her that he doesn't mind if she treats him like a kid—he just can't stand seeing that vulnerable expression in her face, it's not like her.

And besides, he's mistakenly called her “ma” and “mom” at times…

And Scythe is, surprisingly, a very good mother figure. She always cooked breakfast for Medkit to the point that it's become routine for him to ask her what she's cooking.

“ What's for breakfast, mom? ” “ Nothin' much, ‘Kit. I got some eggs benedict with some bacon on the table if ’ya want it! ”

She seems a bit happier with this dynamic, and while Medkit seemed distant before, he's slowly warmed up to her. It made her happy, knowing that he's smiling only in her presence, even if they're both in the cult; both stuck for different reasons, but stuck together nonetheless.

She combed his hair at times, and took the time to braid it before Phights. Gossip is also exchanged between the two, always snickering over dumb conflicts. Gossip sessions never end when tea is involved, as Medkit will keep going on, and on, and on; and Scythe will ramble the same way.

However, she's still a killer.

But if for just a bit, she can forget she was ever a bad person, maybe this would be it.

Rocket doesn't usually get serious about relationships, but he wanted to try just once for you. What else could he do when you made his heart beat so fast that it felt like a ticking time bomb?

Needless to say, you accidentally bagged the best boyfriend from Crossroads overall… and that's considering his background as a violent Playgrounder.

He always plans your dates by himself. Zuka has attempted to help, but Rocket insisted that he do it himself; otherwise, it wouldn't be special for both of you. And oh boy, are they special and endearing to you both.

He's planned dates in many, many unconventional ways. He's planned a special date on the rooftop of the shop underneath the stars, a picnic in Thieves' Den with a body of flowers that he took the time to search for painstakingly, and a date in a restaurant that he had saved up for all of you.

“ Look, Y/N. Ain't this nice? Haha! I told ‘ya you’d love this place! ”

The poor Inphernal has painstakingly hand-picked outfits to look a bit more formal. He barely owns any kind of formal outfit due to his upbringing and his dislike for suits, so on your first date, he showed up in a full sweater with a clip-on bow, excitedly rushing toward you with a bouquet of your favorite flowers and a handwritten card that only said: “to my beloved, sweetheart, partner!”

He was apologising constantly for his lateness on every date, despite it being his idea, as he's always helping Zuka with the store. He'll always beg for your forgiveness and thank you for your patience, and make up for his many blunders by giving you affection on your dates!

Considering that he's always showing affection, Rocket is obviously into PDA. He needs the attention and doesn't care if anyone else is looking, he'll give you lots of love in return—if you ask for it, that is!

He thinks that if he doesn't show his love for you, you will lose interest in him. Playgrounders aren't really serious about anything, case in point, Rocket and his Phights. But when he tried dating you once, he needed you more than ever—breathing was literally excruciating without you.

His Playground stubbornness shows when he sometimes neglects your needs in favour of fun. He doesn't realise he's doing this until you vocally express yourself to him, but even then, it might take 3 tries before he gives you a “yeah?” And after that, he'll apologise profusely to you.

I HC that Rocket, while not having a visible face scar, does have some issues with his hearing due to the rockets being in close range to him, so when his hearing aids are off, he's learned to read your lips and regulate his speaking voice so that you didn't have to learn sign language or use a notebook to communicate with him.

“ No! Seriously, seriously, sugar, you didn't need to! NO!! I can read your lips!! It's fine!! ”

Obviously, you ended up learning sign language anyway, but he insisted that you didn't need to learn for his sake, and still, you did. His heart rocket-jumped and did a ton of somersaults.

Don't worry!! He'll recharge his hearing aids!! If you remind him.

If you plan dates for him instead, he's crying on the inside, thinking that he's dating a literal angel, with what kindness you have shown him. He'll go along with any idea you have, so long as you aren't planning any dangerous dates!

He's bought you some gifts with his budget, but it's pretty limited. He's given you little trinkets like small handmade bracelets and commissioned horn decals. He's adorned you with some charms before, but he decided to remove them as he observed that you've gotten unwanted attention due to them.

He's scared of letting you out of his sight, and while he knows you won't leave him, he's more worried that you may hurt yourself, even if you think you can hold your own. He's very clingy, often being by your side almost every hour of the day.

He hopes you don't mind, since you knew what you were getting yourself into.

He's pretty mature despite his hyperactivity. When you need to vent to him, he listens in silence, nothing fun about you having a bad day, so he has to be serious. He'll listen with his hand on your shoulder to ground you, look at you with tender eyes, and kiss your forehead as you mumble with tears in your eyes or cry into his shoulder.

It pains him to listen to you cry, so he always does his best to give you what you need. He'll always ask you if you need advice, distractions, or comfort. The big three of saving a relationship for him.

He's always so scared of you leaving him because he missed the signs, so he might push your boundaries to get you to open up. Sure, it's bad at times, but he's managed to save your bond with him because of his stubbornness—he still apologises for that, nonetheless.

“ I'm sorry, sugar. Look, hey- hey, listen. I didn't mean to get loud or persistent, okay? I--… Haaah… look, I'm sorry for pushing your boundaries, I just wanted to help you. If you want me to help you, you have to trust me to help you, okay? I trust you a lot, you have to trust me too… Thank you, sugar, Again, thank you for your trust. I love you so much. ”

Overall, if you date Rocket, you'll get a very clingy but hyperactive boyfriend who can be stubborn at times but he's always willing to compromise and listen. He's only trying his best, even if sometimes, Zuka may tell you how Rocket really feels.

“ That kid loves you a lot. He treats you like you're the only world he has… treat him the same way, 'kay? ”
