Had a Blast at Rainfurrest!

Aden and I had wonderful time at our very first Rainfurrest! This was also Aden’s first time spending a significant amount of time in the new fennec fursuit that he made! I love Seattle and my first impressions of this convention were nearly second to none! I met lots of awesome people and wish I had more time to get to know everyone I met, but I hope to see everyone I met again next year! Thank you all for being such an awesome fun-loving fandom!

yooo I am looking for a rainfurrest hotel room

I was planning to go to RF again this year because I have some friends going and I can afford it but a couple friends had to drop out and now I currently have nowhere to stay for it and even though finding a room at the con worked out last time I don’t really want to roll the dice on it again

so uh, if anyone’s got a spot or knows anyone who might have space let me know, I am not super loud and I’m willing to sleep on the floor if needed and I can probably find some people who’d vouch for me

Rainfurrest summary:

A lifetime of wonderful memories that went by way too fast.

A little while ago I gave my final farewells to David and Kjorteo, and the fact that I’m not breaking down in tears over this is amazing me...though God knows I feel like I’m right on the precipice.

Getting to meet two of my closest friends, including the one whom I’ve known longer than even much of my family, was the greatest joy my first furcon experience has given me...and having to say goodbye to them is by far the saddest.

Still, this whole experience has been eye-opening. I expected for months that I would feel like a fish out of water, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It simply felt...right, like I genuinely belong here.

...I’m actually kind of dreading how boring Anchorage is going to feel after this, if I’m honest. O_o;;;

Back to Rainfurrest: Today was an absolute hoot. I got to take part in an improv panel (for all of about 4 seconds before I got myself razzed out; it was a word association game, and the initial word was “Potato.” The guy right before me said “hash brown,” and I repeated him, despite the fact that the word in my head was “GLaDOS.” Dammit! XD ), listened to David’s rendition of Europe’s “Final Countdown” (along with a RickRoll that I really should have expected) at a karaoke contest.

The variety show was, aside from some severe mic issues, absolutely awesome. In one skit we not only saw werewolves, but Whywolves, Whenwolves, and...sonic screwdrivers at the ready...a Whowolf. XP

There was also a skit that involved someone transforming into an anthropomorphic rabbit...who had to call in sick. Long story short, she turned into David. XD

During lunch, David and I got to meet with Fox Amoore, a rather renowned Scottish music maker. I had no idea who he was due to not knowing many furry celebs, but still, holy shit that was cool!

Easily the highlight of the day for me, though, was the fursuit parade. I pretty much killed my phone snapping photos, because a lot of them were just absolutely fantastic.

Anyway, I’m just gonna leave it here now. I need to get ready for bed and get ready to head back to Anchorage tomorrow...going, as I always feel after visiting my parents, from home to home.

Thank you, Rainfurrest/Kjorteo/David, for making my first furcon experience one of the best experiences of my life. :]
