peace talks have seemingly gone on for endless days if you ask those simply waiting about. invited for the grand gesture but turned to dive into what highgarden has to offer to avoid dying of boredom. the southern king showboats to his greatest, pandering to those he can and taking up all of the other monarchs' time as much as he's able. they indulge him, but at what cost?

as the week comes to a close, many are hopeful the talks have gone well and they might see respite from this forced visit to the reach's capitol.

but you know what they say about wishful thinking...

most of our nobility and their staff are simply indulging in highgarden when suddenly troops storm from every space. fear rises, screams are heard, and questions are yelled as the troops bar everyone in highgarden where they are found in that moment.

the largest question circulates, what in the hell is going on?

hello demons ! it is time for another chaos drop. as you can see southern knights have flooded highgarden and barred everyone where they were found. there are no answers being offered, simply guards refusing to budge.

this plot drop does not go into affect IC until monday, we will make a post from the main when you can begin threads revolving it.

to avoid characters being stranded alone, we are offering the following locations for people to be trapped in: highgarden markets, the grand ballroom (being used as a giant dining room), the largest private garden of the tyrell family, or within the hedge maze.

please send in to the main what characters will be in what location by monday, aug 21. after this we will assign who is left at random and dm you with the results. please be sure to spread your muses around so each location has a diverse group of writers. multiple muses in one space are allowed for those who have more than 4 characters.

you can only thread with the people who are trapped with your character, so be mindful of the list and be sure you are responding to opens accordingly.

you are very much welcome to still continue your older threads.

a hush has fallen over highgarden as day one of the joust commences. eyes are glued to the jousters as they file into the arena, waiting in buzzing anticipation to see who will be asked for their favor ;  and who will be rejected for another.  

above the cut is the quick listing of who went against who, below the cut are details on favors + match insights if applicable. bolded names are the winners who advance to day two.

grand maester kaina upcliff rides against kai rogare

grand maester kaina upcliff requests the favor of their son, theomore pyke, which is given as the child leans down to hand it to his mother happily. not much is known about the elusive cousin of the tarths, aside from his large stature. he requests the favor of his cousin, lady calla tarth, which is given with warm wishes for his success. murmurs begin in the crowd as kai’s lance pierces the armor of the upcliff, sending them off of their horse. the rogare advances to round two after helping her up.

prince doran martell rides against lord corlys velaryon

lord velaryon rides into the tourney with fanfare, bowing from his horse before trotting towards the crowd, requesting the favor of the ruling lady of highgarden herself, lady saadet tyrell. a whispering of the crowd begins, spectators wondering if it is the beginning of a courtship  — opinion changing when the ruling lady rolls her eyes, but offers the favor nonetheless. the prince of dorne’s request is less showy, murmured words only lord mavrick lannister can make out. his favor is offered with no upset, those close enough to see a soft caress between the two of them. the ego of the velaryon lord becomes his downfall, lance missing the martell entire while doran’s lance lands squarely in the middle of corlys’ chest for doran to advance to round two. 

match three

lord andar royce rides against lord sunwoo lannister

it is to no one’s surprise that the favor of lady guinevere lannister is sought out from her brother, handed over easily with well wishes. lord andar royce requests the favor of no one, riding into the arena and immediately taking his place. the crack of their lances shatters the air, but lord royce’s lance barely grazes prince sunwoo’s armor, a true hit to his own. prince sunwoo advances to the next round.  

match four

lord cemal tyrell rides against lord qhorin drumm

the favor requested of his long time betrothed, lady betha tully, is rejected to the shock of onlookers. gasps shock the crowd into silence as the slight against cemal, and their hosting family, has been put on display for all to see. the lord seems nonplussed, riding to his twin, emira, to request hers which is given with a roll of her eyes. lord qhorin’s request to lord lukas harlaw is quite the opposite, a smacking kiss to the islander’s cheek as it is handed over with ease. there is an expectation of a homefield advantage, that is quickly proven otherwise. qhorin is successful in knocking cemal from his horse, advancing to round two. perhaps it is the rejected favor that diminishes his luck.

prince abraxas martell rides against lady betha tully

prince abraxas requests the favor of his wife, princess sharra martell. it is offered with a kiss, and wishes of luck as he rides to his starting point. lady betha enters the arena to still stunned silence, requesting the favor of none  — luck seemingly not on their side as abraxas knocks her from her horse with ease to advance to the second round. one can only think that it may be karma for insulting their hosts that the lady tully didn’t stand a chance.

king harrion stark rides against prince jon stark

it is a match that moves the onlookers to the edge of their seats, wanting to see which stark would best the other. king harrion stark requests the favor of his cousin, lady thalina tully, mutterings rumbling of his divorce as roslin’s lack of presence is noted. prince jon stark eyes search the crowd, horse moving over lady dovasary dayne to request her favor. shocked rumbles begin when the words “ i didn’t think you had the gumption” is heard, helmet removed for the pair to share a kiss before the favor is turned over. jon is announced as victorious, advancing to the second round.

victario of lys rides against ser tharon redsmith

the sworn shield of the targaryen princess enters the arena, many expecting a repeat performance of his advancement as he had in the last tourney. what begins the tittering is the request of the favor of lady melony drumm, who looks surprised before handing it over with a blown kiss and words of him not getting hurt, as that is her job. ser tharon redsmith boldly asks of the favor of ruling lady saadet tyrell, which is rejected soundly. dramatics of the redsmith may be the reason for why his lance goes astray, with victario advancing to the next round.

match eight    

lord timur blacktyde rides against liege vika ryswell

the requested favor of princess nymeria martell by timur elicits confused murmurs, even more so when she accepts and offers it up happily. is this the beginning of a new courtship ? did the martells really approve this for their youngest child ? more chattering begins as the ruling liege of the rills requests the favor of pimchanok targaryen. the usually stoic princess offers a smile and wink along with their favor. both jousters take their place, seemingly evenly matched but the round ends in timur’s advantage for him to advance to the next round.

daeron of braavos rides against lady aranya baratheon

 it is to the surprise of none that aranya requests the favor of her betrothed, princess rhaenys targaryen. it is accepted, handed to the baratheon before she rides to take her place. when daeron of braavos enters the arena, he requests the favor of lady melony drumm as well  — chattering starting before she offers another to him with well wishes for her friend with a grin. with previous performance, it is expected for the match to be in daeron’s favor yet aranya’s lance hits him with enough force for his horse to misstep, and the lady baraethon advances.

lady aaliyah mormont rides against vorian dayne       

neither riders choose to request a favor, it seems, though there is a startling hint of purple seen amongst his amour that is a different shade than what his sister offered earlier, suggesting that it’s not from starfall. the lack of experience is clear in this match on the mormont’s side, resulting in them unseated and landing in the sand with minor injuries. vorian advances to the next round.

lord connin chyttering rides against lord osric arryn

the lord from the crownlands is known for his prowess, looking towards the crowd to shyly request the favor of lady emira tyrell. it is given to him with well wishes, while osric takes his place, apparent choice of choosing not to request the favor of anyone. despite the thoughts that the match would go to connin, osric emerges victorious with a great effort and is going to move to the next round.

lord darnell arryn rides against lady myriah yronwood

the match begins with lady myriah beseeching the favor of lady alys karstark, the request accepted amicably as alys allow her son to give the favor to the yronwood. with whispers already started about the child being a bastard son of one of the starks, is it a an attempt to cover up the rumors swirling about torrhen’s parentage ? with the royce sitting to the side in the stands, lord darnell requests the favor or lord andar royce, which is given though with many looks of confusion. this match is another that is even, a last minute grip switch of the yronwood’s lance not aiming quite as high as needed while darnell’s aim is true, sending him to the next round.

lord sebastian manderly rides against prince rhaegar targaryen

though not unusual for a guard to ask of the favor for his charge, the arena still holds their collective breaths as lord sebastian manderly asks for the favor of princess alexia stark, which is accepted with a laugh and a grin, wishes offered for luck. the prince requests the favor of his youngest sibling, princess pimchanok targaryen. the gods seem to be smiling down on the prince as after three rounds of volleying due to the skill level of both riders, prince rhaegar targaryen is who advances.     

match fourteen

lord maron harlaw rides against prince ryon martell

the ego of the harlaw is unmatched, having already been trash talking the crown prince of dorne before the match had even begun. residual tensions from dorne, no doubt, and the imprisonment of his older brother a likely source for the bad mouthing that didn’t seem to come to an end until the request for lady melony drumm’s favor is rejected with a scathing dismissal. a pivot towards princess denyse martell to request her favor is rejected as well. when ryon rides to request his wife’s favor it is given with a soft kiss, quiet instructions to knock the harlaw onto his ass which the crown prince does easily. ryon advances to the second round while maron is left to nurse his shattered esteem.   

match fifteen

lord rodrik arryn rides against lord brynden tully

as the pair had just welcomed a child now just shy of six months, there is none of the excitement that has come with previous favor requests, all nodding approvingly as rodrik asks after his wife, alicent arryn’s, favor which is given easily. murmurs begin as lord brynden enters the arena due to his sibling’s previous actions, but no favor was sought. with rodrik being the victor of the tourney in winterfell, all are surprised to seem him felled from his horse by lord brynden, who passes through to round two. 

match sixteen

prince cregan stark rides against lady lusia botley

the lady lusia botley is known for her prowess, the crowd’s pick for winning this match against cregan, despite her hailing from the islands. lusia asks after the favor of lady gisele farwynd, rejected as the ironborn turns and places a resounding kiss onto lady ferah tyrell’s lips to gasped questions of the arena that only grow louder as cregan asks after lady melina hightower’s favor, which is handed over. as with the rest of the attempts that have gone rejected, cregan’s lance send lusia off of her horse for the conclusion of jousting on day one.

after what felt like hours trapped in the different areas of highgarden, people are shocked and dismayed when the targaryen guards all seemingly depart from their posts after each receives word from another. they do not offer any explanations, they simply leave. outrage persists, but people are not left questioning for long. the next day every noble house receives a letter from the souther king, apologizing for the inconvenience that occurred. it seems an attempt was made on the mad dragon's life, and measures were taken to prevent any possible harm to others as the attempted assassin fled the guards. of course, he used extreme measures to protect all at highgarden. our characters are left disgruntled and rightfully so, but peace talks resume as scheduled and the mad king is acting as if nothing happened.

characters are now free to resume their regularly scheduled programming about highgarden.

new threads can be started with characters not in the same location, but old threads can continue if you wish them to.

and why the hell is aedar not still overreacting ?

 you  didn’t  forget  about  us,  did  you?  in  your  eagerness  to  celebrate  a  new  union,  thoughts  of  our  little  messages  had  gone  all  but  forgotten  by  so  many.  but  we’re  not  so  easily  forgotten,  not  so  easily  dismissed  or  halted.

 let  us  leave  a  reminder  in  a  way  you  might  take  to  heart.

 a  message  in  flame.

 as  our  nobles  are  winding  down  on  a  night  of  dornish  fun,  as  they  prepare  to  bid  the  new  couple  goodnight,  screams  sound  from  the  depths  of  the  extravagantly  decorated  ballroom.  fire  has  caught  to  the  many  tapestries  hung,  quickly  spreading  to  every  surface  possible.  the  screams  intensify,  bodies  scrambling  out  as  smoke  and  flame  fill  every  space  of  the  room.  

 guards  pour  from  every  corner  of  the  palace,  buckets  of  water  begin  passing  down  lines  of  any  willing  to  help.  for  a  few  moments  there  are  no  nobles,  no  commonfolk,  no  dornish,  no  southerners,  just  people  seeking  to  stop  great  tragedy  from  striking.  

 of  course,  not  all  stay  to  help,  and  trust  the  martells  see  who  is  so  unwilling  to  save  their  home  after  their  hospitality  has  been  offered.

 but  those  who  came  together  succeed,  the  flames  smothered  in  water  and  weary  bodies  slowly  filter  off  to  bed.

 come  sun  rise  they  are  given  a  new  edict  from  the  ruling  princess  martell,  the  gates  of  the  palace  are  closed,  none  in,  none  out.  our  characters  once  again  find  themselves  trapped  in  the  aftermath  of  tragedy,  another  royal’s  iron  fist  eager  to  seek  out  those  who  sought  to  harm  their  own.

as you can see, we end all weddings with a bang!

this plot drop is not optional, all threads from here on must reflect these events. all characters are now unable to leave sunspear’s palace until further notice.

you do not have to drop your event threads though it is highly encouraged to do so. all players may have one free starter, but again we are telling, not asking, everyone to make the effort to also reply to opens and not solely focus on closed threads. unlike the event, we will be handing out warnings to those players who have not responded to any opens after some time has passed.

options for involvement include those who fled rather than helping put out the flames, those injured in the mass escape from the ballroom, deaths (npc or otherwise), victims of attempted kidnappings, and those who may have been a shining star amongst the helpful ( i.e. helping others out of the fire, tending to wounded, one of the first to jump in to help put out the flames ) this does not mean everyone who helped, just those that were the most helpful/notable.

with tensions risen to an all time high with nobles both dornish and non housed in cells in spear tower, none were prepared for the news that broke just as the sun rose. 

late in the night, ruling princess tyene martell was found just near the kitchens and rushed to the maesters with talks of poisoning. it seemed that the attackers that sent the reception into a fit of frenzy returned to finish what they had started, showing that no one is truly safe.

former ruling princess, kari martell, has stepped in as regent in the interim with rumors spreading quickly that it was she pushing for nobles to be sent to the dungeons in droves and unhappy that many more weren’t sent.

with the culprits still on the loose, and a ruler that shows no desire for any outsiders, the question now becomes what will happen next ?

an unsettling air falls upon all of those in wintefell after the joust, so many unsure of whether they should leave or stay. the new king invites all to stay, feast, and remain warm with the approaching winter storms. hushed whispers all but scream questions of the fate of ser lynderly.

the arrival of ser domeric lynderly from the wall does nothing to silence these whispers, rumors circulating like a wildfire unstoppable in the northern frosts.

but those frigid airs only grew stronger.

the winter storm grew, and grew, and grew, despite not being expected for weeks later. snow descends upon winterfell in true northern fashion, winter is here early indeed. within days the roads become impossible to travel, and a sad realization is the first thing to silence those incessant whispers of the joust.

nobody is going home anytime soon.

you are free to work this in as you wish, either in new threads or over the days the snow grows. basically, work it in however works best for you/your characters bc this is meant to be what binds everyone to one location for the rp, not something major that would require a change in current threads. eventually you will have to involve this in all threads, but by no means does anyone have to force it in to what they have going now. i hope this makes sense, if not ask away ! a follow up for our jouster’s fate will come eventually after some more demon plotting. happy writing !!!

also as it is december (almost) and i know this is a heavy time for many a folk, the same sort of rules apply for activity. try to post at least twice every seven days, but if at all be sure you are posting something in seven days, and not always to the same thread(s). for new characters, though, you have to be past that threshold with at least 3-4 active threads per character / not recently on activity check. if you do end up on activity check and need more time to make your posts, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the main ! this rp isn’t in the business of kicking people who want to be here, but we also can’t just have people holding roles upon roles + fcs and just not posting on them, or favoring things like ships when this is a group rp not an indie rp. 

over all try to be as active as you can, message when you can’t, and try to make sure you aren’t ignoring the common curtesy rules in a rp (posting to more than the same few people, plotting with new members, clearly favoring characters/threads) so everyone here feels welcome even in this busy season !

while king aedar suffered from the effects of the poison, many toiled away to actually ensure justice was served and not used as another political stunt to instill fear and flash power.

master of laws willas marbrand worked through his grief over the loss of his family member alongside several others and finally a name was found. the grand maester of the north, lord walder bolton was accused. elements of the poison, including eranthis  blossoms which are only found in the north, were discovered in his quarters, the lord quite content to never be caught. 

but what was his plan ? why, the best kept secret throughout all of this. as it turns out, king tylon stark consumed much of the wine, and suffered near death for the days after the ball. under the tender care of the maester his condition never improved, the initial cause of suspicion as the maester assured many the king was fine and merely wished for no guests. for days the king went unvisited, many blindly believing the maester. until prince harrion stark’s suspicion outweighed his desire to listen to his father’s wishes. pushing open the doors the maester was caught, delivering another tea meant to poison the king further.

it seems the boltons never did quite forgive the starks.

and so the trial was held, prince rhaegar targaryen relinquishing control to the northern council and the starks. the entire keep gathered to witness the events, but the smug maester never did deny his actions. in fact, he seemed proud, even admitting to organizing the attack on the draconis ball in attempt to kidnap princess alexia stark and murder prince harrion and king tylon.

in less than a day the judgement was delivered, a sentence to death at the next daybreak to be carried out by prince harrion.

the grand maester’s head rolled at sunrise, and shortly after king aedar awoke and was informed of the events. enraged to have been left out, he went into a fit of irrational madness. the southern maesters were quick to offer sedation teas, and once again the king’s state was taken advantage of. the hand, prince rhaegar announced the release of all that had been stuck over these tense few months.

they were freed.

tl;dr: the grand maester of the north, walder bolton, was found guilty + executed for the poisoning at the betrothal ball + the attack of the draconidis ball. execution carried out by prince harrion stark himself.

rhaegar said everyone get, everyone is free to leave king’s landing + encouraged to do so.

king tylon is now fairly sickly, but refuses to abdicate. he has turned over many duties to his hand, cedrick ryswell, and his son + heir, prince harrion.

ooc info: this marks the end of our time in king’s landing, our next arc will see the introduction of our characters in winterfell after 3-ish months of being free to do as they please. more details will be found in the post for that.

this does not mark the moment ic where you have to stop all your current threads, that will be the arc 2 announcement coming later when the vote is made !

tensions at the ball ran high the entire night , not a single in attendance a stranger to the atmosphere. all , save our dear king aedar. the dragon king was full of smiles all night , either blissfully unaware of how people really felt or too proud of himself to care. 

throughout the entire night people flock to the king , whether it be in fear and hopes to make nice and stay on his good side , or a true ignorance to the world and thinking him to be a great king. never once is the king alone , entertaining company at every turn of the hour. the guards remain on high alert , fears of the previous ball not leaving anyone’s minds.

and so the night goes on , dances , wine , and some merriment to be had by those who indulge. some even manage to leave for their own devices before the night truly ends. as the clock tolls , many slowly begin to relax and truly believe this night will not end like the last. perhaps brighter days are ahead indeed.

but then the shatter of a glass cuts through the chatter and music , a loud scream silencing any who might have missed it. the king’s guard is quick to descend upon the throne their ruler sits and those left in the ballroom shuffle to get a glimpse of what might have happened. could someone have attempted to harm the king ? who could be so brazen ?

but as the king is ushered out the guards thin , slowly glimpses of a body laying at the foot of the throne become more clear. it is not the king that has fallen but the ruling lord ozan tyrell , a broken glass of wine beside him. and then like popcorn gasps sound throughout the room , several others collapsing and calls for help ringing out. the guards begin to clear the ballroom and organize the fallen to the infirmary , not responding to anything asked of them by those about.

only one question is answered that night , no targaryen celebration can end peacefully.

alrighty so ! tl;dr: the ruling lord tyrell and several others were poisoned, and come morning word will go out that he and some of the others did not survive. ( this will now make lale tyrell the ruling lady of highgarden / the reach )

while the source isn’t entirely clear, many will come to think that a batch of the dornish red wine was poisoned.

news is slow to spread, but eventually it will be known that the king is also suffering from the poison but maesters believe he will make a full recovery like the others who did not perish the same night. he remains in his chambers for days with rhaegar assuming the duties as king.

this officially marks the end of the event, all new threads should focus on the aftermath of this event + plot drop and no new event threads should be started. ( but you are free to continue your threads from the ball as you see fit ! )

if you would like your characters, npcs you control, or open positions in houses you are part of ( with permission of the others in the house ) to die or have fallen ill, please message the main !

how sick is utp, it can range from fine the next morning to a few days to recover. the symptoms will be like a bad stomach virus combined with headaches + low blood pressure causing fatigue / passing out. many sick may just spend hours to days sleeping and not remember much of the ball at all.

as the inquisitions wind down with the last of the nobles trailing out the throne room, a silence fills the halls of sunspear for the first time since the reception. everyone is anxious to see what the dornish small council will do next with hours passing before the first of the news starts to trickle in. summons not for the entirety of houses, but individuals. each seeming random, a pattern not able to be seen as they leave the apartments given to them and retrace the steps to where the small council remains, not to return. the minutes turn to hours without the return of those called back to be, seemingly, re - questioned before it is announced : they have been taken to the dungeons.

a full list of names given to each queen and king of their respective region, small councils being gathered in haste to alert the ruling heads of those that have been placed in the spear tower. there is no news of when to expect their releases, infractions explained as wishing to question them more. before long, the list in its entirety has been circulated to all and it seems no region has been spared.

tldr : the inquisition has ended in various people being taken to the dungeons. it’s unknown how long they will be there for, the reasoning of some of the guards seeing people sneaking around, the answers to the questions too vague or too knowledgeable, etc. 

it is canon to know who all was taken to the dungeons, but also okay for people not on the small council to only have heard rumors. 

those in the dungeons can receive visitors. they can’t be broken out, and there are guards stationed everywhere so any talks of it will be taken as treason and treated as such

the walls of the red keep have not known silence since the events of the ball, suspicions and rumors running rampant and once allies turning enemy at the drop of a pin. the targaryen king gave his people no rest, demanding a name to hold accountable for the attack on his ball.

and so a name was given, sources unreliable at best. lady commander anaera tarth of the king’s guard is blamed for aiding the masked attackers, and subsequently sentenced to her execution with no trial or warning. 

her head rolls immediately upon sentencing, cries of her innocence barely heard before her voice is lost forever.

many believe this means they are free to go, unsettled by the brutal execution but hopeful to return to their own seats and put this all behind them. but just as the nobility of westeros begin to leave the throne room a large roar is heard, and many near windows swear they see something large and dark flying in the skies. king aedar has a wide grin on his lips, commanding them all to remain longer as if would be in their best interest to do so. the king then takes his leave while his family is left looking confused and also rushing out to avoid question or complaint.

lady aneara tarth was executed and blamed for the attack, but many believe her innocence or at the very least that there are more players in this game.

dragons are being introduced slowly, all everyone knows for now is that a roar was heard that was too loud and too old to be a human. king aedar looked pleased while the other targaryen’s looked confused.

the nobility are now left confused and fearful to leave, if they are not afraid then it is up to you why they choose to stay but everyone is still to remain in king’s landing. this could be trying to figure out if dragons have truly returned, not wishing to start a war by leaving, not wishing to face death by leaving, or just a general staying because everyone else is. the possibilities are endless but it was definitely left without question that the king is not releasing anyone.

this is a follow up to the previous plot drop, you do not have to drop your current threads we just ask that future threads begin incorporating the things here. it’s reasonable to say not everyone was here for the execution, but word does spread like dragon fire in the keep.

whoever said they were finished at just two singular attacks ? more notes come in , sudden illnesses strike , and shadows seem to follow our westerosi visitors. eyes are upon the nobles of westeros , even reaching inside of the palace walls despite the added guard. one thing is very clear , their safety is not guaranteed.

this isn’t a real plot drop per say , but a continuation of this. we are now opening up these attacks to occur to other non-dornish characters, however all with prior approval ! below are the options, and if you are interested please dm the main to be added to the channel on our discord to sign up your characters !

as crowds begin to gather while the clock tolls midnight , the promise of a show stopping finale in the skies enough to keep even the most introverted of guests in attendance , sadly it is not a burst in the glittering skies that takes the attention of all.

a single scream is heard first , and everything seems to move in slow motion from that point on. from the walls masked people descend , armed and aiming to cause as much damage as possible. pure chaos ensues , that lone scream now joined by choruses of many.

while the meteors shower in the sky , not a single one goes witnessed. some jump to begin fighting immediately , the likes of lord lukas harlaw , lady taria dayne , high queen rowena greyjoy, lord blade lannister , ser tharon redsmith , lady betha tully who bring many attackers to death’s door with few marks to show for it. prince harrion stark defends those near him valiantly , but eventually falls to an injury at his side. florys flowers finds herself with a stab wound to the thigh , valiantly defending her younger brother from the attack meant for the young florent. princess amelira stark finds herself at the wrong end of princess kaelys greyjoy’s sword , mistaken as an attacker and sustaining minor injuries for it. the princess greyjoy continues to defend their siblings with their brother prince daemon greyjoy at their side. visera waters manages to slip from the grips of some attackers , minor injuries all she have to show for it. lady sarisa baratheon takes a dagger to the arm , thankfully not poisoned or she may have found herself exiting this world. princess alexia stark had slipped most of her guards and finds herself regretting it , many scrapes and bruises from fending off attackers before ser stefan manderly finds her and pulls her to safety. king aedar targaryen attempts to fight off attackers , somehow left defenseless with no guards at his side ( a mystery to be solved later ) he manages to take a handful down before an injury to his leg leaves the king near the afterlife. but not all of the injuries were at the hands of the attackers , in attempt to escape lady thalina tully finds herself trampled by the crowds doing the very same.

but the death toll come morning is somber at best , guards lost defending the lives of their families expected but still a great sadness. yet the death of the master of whispers lord cyrus beesbury shocks many. despite the attempts of princess pimchanok targaryen to save the master of whispers ( or so anyone saw ), the man falls to a poison dagger. because of their valiant efforts in attempting to save the man , as well as service in the past , the princess is appointed to replace the late lord beesbury.

an investigation is quickly launched , the mad king refusing to believe no guest had a hand in the attack. everyone is commanded to remain in king’s landing until the culprit is discovered.

this officially marks the end of our event, but feel free to continue writing those threads if you wish ! we just ask that no new open starters regarding the event are made.

if you’d like to post an open for the morning after the king has ordered everyone to remain in king’s landing, you are def encouraged to ! if you wish to post more than one please prioritize also replying to other people’s opens as well.

new threads should focus on the morning after, but you can write the fall out after the ball if you wish to enjoy that chaos.

 tensions  have  been  running  high  since  the  night  of  the  ball,  anxious  nobles  trying  to  escape  and  being  thwarted  by  overworked  guards.  it  seems  no  answers  are  in  sight,  no  truths  to  be  found  at  just  who  started  that  disaster  of  a  fire.

 demands  to  be  freed  increase,  the  ruling  princess  becoming  more  reclusive  in  effort  to  focus  on  the  real  root  of  their  problems  rather  than  whiny  nobles  with  no  cares  other  than  themselves.  trust  the  martells  see  all,  they’ve  taken  names  of  who  has  stood  by  them  and  who  has  sought  to  only  serve  themselves.

 the  morning  begins  like  any  other  thus  far  since  their  incarceration,  quiet,  somber.  it  seems  many  are  near  their  breaking  point,  over  a  week  with  no  answers  driving  even  the  calmest  of  nobles  to  fret.  and  yet  it  seems  the  treat  they  are  in  is  not  one  any  would  like,  for  the  dead  body  found  on  the  floor  of  the  sunspear  throne  room  as  the  ruling  princess  entered  was  the  last  thing  any  wished  to  find.

 sunspear  turns  into  a  frenzy  once  more,  nobles  asked  to  stay  in  their  rooms  until  given  further  instructions.  as  you  can  imagine,  this  order  is  not  taken  well  by  any  of  the  ‘  guests  ’  of  sunspear,  many  who  are  completely  unaware  there  has  even  been  another  death  or  who  it  was.

 so  imagine  how  they  feel  come  the  next  morning  when  the  edict  is  given.  every  soul  in  sunspear  is  to  be  questioned  before  the  ruling  princess,  her  council,  and  members  of  house  martell.  none  are  spared  from  the  inquisition  that’s  to  come,  none  are  prepared  for  the  aftermath  of  such  questioning.

tl:dr; someone dead again, nobody is told who but there are rumors flying that it was lady deena manwoody, body found in the sunspear throne room. the ruling princess has now ordered all people in sunspear to be questioned.

there will be a follow up including the information for our second TASK, which will be the line of questions given to every character. even if you choose not to write their responses, know that they still were questioned.

peace talks have seemingly gone on for endless days if you ask those simply waiting about. invited for the grand gesture but turned to dive into what highgarden has to offer to avoid dying of boredom. the southern king showboats to his greatest, pandering to those he can and taking up all of the other monarchs' time as much as he's able. they indulge him, but at what cost?

as the week comes to a close, many are hopeful the talks have gone well and they might see respite from this forced visit to the reach's capitol.

but you know what they say about wishful thinking...

most of our nobility and their staff are simply indulging in highgarden when suddenly troops storm from every space. fear rises, screams are heard, and questions are yelled as the troops bar everyone in highgarden where they are found in that moment.

the largest question circulates, what in the hell is going on?

hello demons ! it is time for another chaos drop. as you can see southern knights have flooded highgarden and barred everyone where they were found. there are no answers being offered, simply guards refusing to budge.

this plot drop does not go into affect IC until monday, we will make a post from the main when you can begin threads revolving it.

to avoid characters being stranded alone, we are offering the following locations for people to be trapped in: highgarden markets, the grand ballroom (being used as a giant dining room), the largest private garden of the tyrell family, or within the hedge maze.

please send in to the main what characters will be in what location by monday, aug 21. after this we will assign who is left at random and dm you with the results. please be sure to spread your muses around so each location has a diverse group of writers. multiple muses in one space are allowed for those who have more than 4 characters.

you can only thread with the people who are trapped with your character, so be mindful of the list and be sure you are responding to opens accordingly.
