decided that my issues with a lot of 'bad dad bruce' posts isn't that they're necessarily wrong but that they're missing a lot of context that makes it infinitely more interesting. like "bruce hit tim" it was code. talk about the fact that violence is so normalised in their lives that they've literally turned it into a language. "bruce blamed dick for jason's death" he never directly said it. talk about the fact that dick blames himself for everything to the extent that he immediately assumes other people blame him too, regardless of whether or not they genuinely do. or talk about the fact that dick is so used to bruce's indirect way of speaking that he can instantly translate it in a way that is not normal for typical people ((they don't have to decode their father's words)) etcetera. etcetera. you know. you get it.
