'The Bitter Tea of General Yen' – Barbara Stanwyck in China on Prime Video
Director Frank Capra and future movie superstar Barbara Stanwyck were on the rise at Columbia Pictures in the early years of the sound era, thanks to a partnership that elevated both of their careers. The Bitter Tea of General Yen (1932) is the peak of their collaboration, an exotic drama set in China. Stanwyck as Megan Davis, a New York society girl with a heart of gold and a backbone of steel…

Jax once said to Ragatha:
"You, me and a bunch of ragbunnies."
Bro wasn't joking
Tumblr media
Man, including Jaiden, Bunnydoll has around 65 kids! 65 KIDS! AND those are only the ones I know, it might be more out there.
I am addicted to Jax and Ragatha fankids. I guess it's because all creators have one thing in common, shipping bunnydoll (at least, most of creators). At same time, whenever someone create a shipchild, we are able to explore people's creativity and traits of their personality.
I will try to draw Jaiden with each one of her siblings before tadc ep 3 is due, if you guys allow me (if don't, ease tell me, there is no prob) I don't know if I will get it, as I don't have much time or ability.
Fankids mentioned belong to (this gonna be long)

“I have always wished I could somehow climb into Little Richard’s body, hook up his heart and vocal cords to my own, and switch identities with him. Admiring his processed pompadour on my own head in the mirror, feeling his blood pulsating in my veins as I looked down at the twitching pencil-thin moustache over his lip, I’d stomp through the world screaming, “A-wop-bop-a-loo-mop-a-wop-bam-boom!” and finally feel happy! Strangers would jump back and shriek, “Good lord, it’s the Bronze Liberace – Show Business Personified!” while others genuflected to the inventor of rock and roll, and for once, there’d be a reason to live.”
/ John Waters reflecting on his hero (and moustache inspiration) Little Richard in his 2010 book Role Models /
In Memoriam: remembering his royal highness, “Show Business Personified” and the artist praised by soul diva Etta James for having “the guts to be a king and queen all at the same time” - the divine Little Richard (aka Richard Wayne Penniman, 5 December 1932 - 9 May 2020) on the fifth anniversary of his death. I saw the flamboyant “Bronze Liberace” give one of his final concerts at Viva Las Vegas rockabilly weekender in 2013 (he retired from performing shortly afterwards). I won’t lie – by that point, the Georgia Peach was a hot mess, but a fascinating, charismatic and regal hot mess (and possessor of a profile worthy of Nefertiti). The man was magnificent! We’ll never see Little Richard’s like again. Pictured: Little Richard in Copenhagen in 1975.

New Year’s Eve, 1967
Everybody was missing Brian’s parties, which had always been such fab affairs, and it was decided by one of the lads that, as the only girl in Brian’s stable, I should play Mother Hen and take on the party-giving mantle, largely because my flat was so central. As someone who loves to party, I didn’t need too much persuasion.
‘Okay,’ I said, deciding to make that New Year’s party a Liverpool ‘do’ and play all the Jimmy Shand Band records.
The usual crew was there - The Beatles, Vivian Moynahan, Peter Brown, Joe Brown and his wife, Vicki Wickham, my best friend, Pat Davies, and The Rolling Stones, plus wives or girlfriends. I was fond of all the Stones, and we knocked around a fair bit with them - they were always in the Ad-Lib [London club], and I used to fancy Keith Richard’s on the quiet. He was just the kind of pretty boy who caught my fancy at that time.
At one point Ringo was sent out of the flat to knock at the door as the traditional ‘dark stranger’, holding the traditional piece of good-luck coal in his hand, but we all forgot about him - couldn’t hear the constant ringing of the bell over the din. He was left outside for ages before we remembered him. Then, when he was let back in, blue with cold, he had four Americans, all dressed in plaid trousers, in tow. They’d been consoling him in Portland Place. It was strange that we sent Ringo out really - we should have sent Kenny Lynch out as he was much darker, but perhaps he was hiding somewhere.
Cynthia Lennon hid herself at that party too. Georgie Fame came and told me she’d locked herself in one of my wardrobes. When I went to find her, she said she was waiting to see how long it would be before John noticed she was missing and came to find her. I told her not to waste her time and get out and have a good time - just like John was doing!
The party eventually became pretty wild. Joe Brown suddenly said, ‘It’s shirt-ripping time’ - and he decided that all the girls should rip the shirts off the boys’ backs. Amid much chasing, screamin’ and shoutin’, one by one the fellers were cornered, tickled close to death and were left with only their collars and ties still intact on their upper bodies. They were a picture of hairy chests! That game only came to an end when Maureen returned from the loo, took one look at Ringo and got upset.
‘That was a new Italian dress shirt - it cost a fortune,’ she wailed, shocked, as Ringo stood there bare-chested with the rest of the boys, while we girls crept off shamefaced, heads hanging, into the nearest corner!

Germanic Paganism Resource Masterlist
Notes: - Updates will be beyond infrequent. - Feel free to pop into my ask box requesting resource recommendations at any moment. - Resources do not reflect my personal beliefs or practice. I may include otherwise great resources that include theories and ideologies I do not support (such as the 'sign of the Hammer'), because I make extensive use of cross-referencing, reflection, etc to determine everything I incorporate into my craft. - I will never consciously add resources written by (Neo-)Nazis and the like. If you spot them, feel free to let me know. - You may notice there is a seemingly disproportionate amount of sources also or primarily talking about Scandinavia and Iceland, and even some primarily covering England. This is because continental Germanic paganism has only barely survived the ravages of time, and one can only learn about it if they supplement their knowledge with the more complete pictures of Anglo-Saxon paganism and Norse paganism.
Legend: [No language identifier means the source is English.] [D] - The resource is written (primarily) in Dutch. [G] - The resource is written (primarily) in German. [ON] - The resource is written (primarily) in Old Norse. [OD] - The resource is written (primarily) in Old Dutch. [OG] - The resource is written (primarily) in Old High German. [L] - The resource is written (primarily) in Latin. [F] - The resource is written (primarily) in French. * - I have not read the resource in its entirety. ** - Read with caution. !! - There is more of the resource available/this is one part of multiple.

16. What was the most expensive record you ever bought?
Pete Townshend's Deep End live bootleg from 1986 on clear vinyl limited to 100 copies for €58
28. Have you ever sold any of your records?
I sold my whole Queen collection about three years ago because I had the worst hyperfixation burnout and basically couldn't stand listening to them anymore 💀 split the money with the record store owner and it made enough for me to be able to shop for free for a couple of months

Color vinyl and picture discs are so cool, I love buying them when I can! Here's the list:
Greatest Hits Live in Concert - Air Supply (white/light pink/orange gradient, numbered limited edition)
Blood Brothers - Blind Channel (red, limited edition)
Sounds & Visions - David Bowie (grey marbled, numbered limited edition)

Norma Jeane - Marilyn Monroe (pink, numbered limited edition)
Looking for a Kiss - New York Dolls (red, limited edition)
Personality Crisis - New York Dolls (red, limited edition)
Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight) - Joey Ramone (clear green)

Don't Cry - Guns N' Roses (picture disc)
Dreamboat Annie - Heart (picture disc)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - Jimi Hendrix (picture disc, limited edition)
I MIGHT have more, but I'm not home rn and have been putting off logging all my records on Discogs for so long so I can't check for all of them (I only have an Excel list that includes artist and title)
35. Have you ever gotten any of your records/sleeves signed by artists?
I have!!! I've had a lot more CDs signed because most bands I see live don't sell records or they're sold out, but I bought a pre hand signed Drive EP by The 69 Eyes, which cost me €10 more, but I had to leave early and they were so popular at the venue I probably wouldn't have gotten them to sign it
The personally signed ones are more special to me because I talked with them and I saw them sign it! My latest ones are from the Ravagers concert in April: On the Loose, Too Raw for the Law, Livin in Oblivion (I had bought Natural Instinct at their show in 2023 but left it at home so that one wasn't signed). The bassist and the singer also added little doodles and annotations!
The other two were from when I saw Stevie Rachelle open with Shameless for Cherie Currie. I bought What Comes Around Goes Around and he signed it with personal dedication. Then he gave me and my friend Fist First as a gift to thank us for our support and signed that with dedication too 🥺

I was tagged by @basket-lily, thank you, friend!!
ೃ⁀➷ hiii hi here’s just a random question form ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
: ̗̀➛ what’s ur fav color: Green, dark reds, dark blues and the colour of the sea in a specific spot I am at times nostalgic for.
: ̗̀➛ how long have u been on tumblr for: I'd say I joined sometime during the Pandemic, I think it was the summer of 2021.
: ̗̀➛ wheres a place u always wanted to travel to: I have quite a few, currently I would like to re-visit Het Loo Palace.
: ̗̀➛ what’s ur fav clothing brand(s): I feel that in the end, one pays extra for the supposed 'privilege' of becoming a walking advertisement for a company, and thus avoid anything with visible branding. I wear clothes that I like, that fit me, and that, in a best case scenario, are from materials that aren't plastic. There is a particular shoe brand I like for their durability and quality materials; they do not put visible logos on their shoes, though.
: ̗̀➛ what’s ur fav singer/band(s): I have a few! Currently, I am listening to a lot of different folk artists again.
: ̗̀➛ what’s ur current phone lockscreen: ...I have not changed my lockscreen in over a decade, I realise. At this point, I have grown too attached to it to change it, and it is a little reminder of my interests back then, and how they continue to shape who I am today. It is a piece of art I found when I was lurking on Tumblr some 10 or more years ago. The original artist's blog seems to no longer exist, despite my best efforts to find them again via reverse image searches. It is a depiction of Richard III in armour, viewed from the back, and surrounded by medieval weaponry pointing at his head. The background is red, the outline of Richard and the weapons are done in greys. He appears to stand up straight, and over his head hovers a yellow crown. His back is overlaid with an anatomically correct outline of his scoliotic spine, also in yellow. It may be a long shot, but if anybody remembers the blog, or the artist, please tell me!
: ̗̀➛ most recent/current hyperfixation: I don't know if it counts as a hyperfixation, but I really enjoy reading about the Stuart family currently.
: ̗̀➛ what’s ur relationship status: There are some things that I would like to keep off the internet.
: ̗̀➛ what’s ur dream job: I am in the lucky position that I have been told more than once that I have a "dream job." As my industry is not too big however, I am not going to disclose exactly what I do. All I will say is that I may not be the first person you should approach regarding Sword Safety.
: ̗̀➛ outside of tumblr, fav social app: I don't really do social media, Whatsapp aside which I have in order to keep in touch with dear people fom my life.
: ̗̀➛ do u have pets: Not currently, sadly. I do have some very strong-willed potted plants, though.
: ̗̀➛ if u do have pets, what kind/how many: A pink syngonium who guilt trips me for abscences (despite always being cared for), a tall bird-of-paradise who is #not like the other strelitzias and enjoys everything it technically shouldn't, a Christmas cactus who has waged war on Christmas, and a "Prince of Orange" philodendron who, presumably like the person it was named after, doesn't grow quite straight.
: ̗̀➛ do u prefer tea or coffee: Tea!
: ̗̀➛ whats ur fav ice cream flavor: Chocolate, by far. Blackcurrant and mango are firm favourites as well.
: ̗̀➛ tag at least three other tumblr accounts
@mycological-mariner @cedarboots @clove-pinks - feel free to participate!
