⇢  6tunes are a 6 member band comprised of a group of friends (and 2 siblings) who share a love of making music and performing. Posting both original songs and covers, 6tunes are quickly making a name for themselves. Each member brings their own uniqueness to the band that combined creates amazing music.

「  Bang Dem Sticks! 」 ⇢ RK Green Ribbon Busking Performance ( +2 S ) ⇢ In which 6tunes makes their official stage debut

“ This is IT! ”

The drumsticks feel heavy in her sweaty hands as she waits at the bottom of the stage for their turn. Yuzu inhales and exhales slowly, trying to calm her irrational fear of her dropping her sticks or her sweaty hands making her lose a grip and poke someone’s eye out in the audience. They’ve been practicing for months now and while they’re far from being one solid unit, they are a band and they are good!

She looks across the others and continues to hop from one leg to the other as she whines, hoping to bring some air to her nervousness as well as make the others laugh a little. If she can’t ease her own nerves she wants to at least help the rest of them. That’s part of her role as the mood maker. She can read all of them well but never tress passes them into calling out any of their worries. Yuzu loves her band members and she’s glad they’ve grown together. As a smile widens across her lips she slips on her gloves and huffs out a final calming breath. They got this.

And indeed all worries seem forgotten however once she’s up on stage. The view from the back is nice, even if a little obstructed but Yuzu likes it either way. She does some final adjustments to the drumset and her own microphone while the others set up their own instruments for the performance.

The drummer can’t wait. Finally a chance to perform in front of a larger live audience to show them what they got. Two songs are on their set list: a cover of playing with fire and blood; both korean songs that compliment their style well. This is their moment.

Yuzu takes a glance around to receive an approving nod from all her band members before she raises her drumsticks high into the air.

And one, and two, and one, two, three, four-

THEME: FIRE VS. FIRE

sometimes, even when you rehearse for months on end, the reality of what you’re doing doesn’t sink in until you’re on the stage, looking out into the sea of eyes that looks back at you. 

( 6tunes. kim hyojin of 6tunes. jinhyo of 6tunes. it’s still unfamiliar, still a foreign roof over his head that gives him the urge to continue proving himself, to show that he deserved a spot here as much as everyone else did. before, he was just himself, and now, he was part of a family. a family he deserved to be in. )

all of these thoughts, all of these worries, all of these feelings are swarming and crashing like waves, bubbling at the mouth of the shore as they recede before snapping out once more. and for the first time in what was a little more than a month, hyojin finds himself under the scrutiny of the public eye once again. 

it’s a typical band setup -- all of them arranged in a semi-circle, with hyojin in the front and changyoon flanking him on the right. it’s comforting, having them all there with him; there are butterflies flitting around in his stomach, but he knows that the other members got him if anything went wrong. it’s when the staff member offstage makes a gesture at him that he finally grabs the microphone in front of him, moving his lips close enough to start their introduction.

“hello everyone, i’m jinhyo of 6tunes.” with a sweet curl of his eyes, he watches as the audience cheers, albeit not as loudly as they had been when the idols before them had been performing. no big deal -- 6tunes was relatively new, anyways, so such a positive reaction was already a good sign. “today is our first stage, so i hope you listen closely and enjoy.”

with that, the band starts, arrow starting on his keyboard for the first few rifts, grabbing the attention, before yuzu starts with her drums, the rest of the instrumentals following. strumming chords on his guitar -- the electric one he had borrowed from wonpil -- hyojin bobs his head to the beat as he begins to sing the first few lines.

우리 엄만 매일 내게 말했어 언제나 남자 조심하라고 사랑은 마치 불장난 같아서 다치니까 eh

the execution was something he was familiar with; like hwasa’s twit, this style of music was one he had recently added to his repetoire of stage expressions -- with a slight quirk of his brow, he sings with a bit of attitude, winking at the end of his part when sophie picks up afterwards.

멈출 수 없는 이 떨림은 on and on and on 내 전부를 너란 세상에 다 던지고 싶어

continuing, letting his smooth voice carry the beat along, there’s a slight growl to his voice as he sings “on and on and on,” adding more flavor to the execution. moving away from the mic to keep his strumming as yuzu then sings, hyojin fully embraces the confident, almost sexy mood of the song, taking on a half smirk that greatly contrasted his sweet, honey-like appearance when he had introduced the group.

pausing for a moment to sing the killing part of the chorus, the first line, hyojin’s eyes curl in a smile as the audience’s cheers pick up for the beat drop, letting the other members take over. 

at the end of the chorus, they transition into the rap break with a few harmonizations, before going into the second chorus. as they near the end by reaching the bridge, hyojin and yuzu the only ones left singing.

걷잡을 수가 없는 걸 너무나 빨리 퍼져 가는 이 불길 이런 날 멈추지 마 이 사랑이 오늘 [jh/yz] 밤을 태워버리게 woo

continuing yuzu’s part skillfully, hyojin’s voice smoothly goes into a high note, yuzu harmonizing with him, allowing a pause in the instrumental to let it sink in. as the crowd claps once the note ends, they go into the final chorus, tying up the song.

once their first song ended, they quickly moved into their second song -- a day6 b-side that was a favorite of hyojin’s, known as blood. this time, yuzu starts with the drums, before the guitars and bass kick in.

once again, hyojin starts the song, this time with a different mood. although both of the songs they performed were similar in that they talked about the passionate push and pull of attraction and love, blood was a little more reserved in its fierceness, a little more suave. as the lyrics imply, they’re more about enjoying the love and hate feeling that a couple’s fights entail. with this in mind, he keeps his tone even and his gaze a little darker, more sultry, as he sings.

pausing his playing in guitar to place both hands on the microphone, his eyes narrow ever so slightly as he looks into the crowd, tilting his head slightly as he sings the lyrics a little teasingly. the softness with which he sings the notes would provide a larger contrast in the chorus, where the higher notes come in.

as sophie picks up after him, he resumes playing, picking up the notes as she builds up the hype for the chorus.

starting off the chorus with almost effortless-sounding high notes, hyojin applies just the right amount of power to make it sound clean but not straining, making for a more alluring feel. as if addressing the audience, his gaze is fierce but teasing.

with that, they cycle into the second verse, then the chorus, then the rap break, and then the final chorus.

baby you got to see blood you got to see blood got to see blood

finishing the song and their performance with his last few lines, hyojin sings the high note smoothly and drags it out sweetly, the sly look on his face never faltering until the end.

as they bow, the audience cheers, this time a lot louder, and hyojin slips back into his normal self, smiling sheepishly and bowing once again shyly. 

reaching for the microphone, he says a final goodbye. “thank you for listening, everyone -- we hope to see you again soon!”

turning back to his band members, he calls out a bright “good work, everyone,” making sure that all of them get offstage safely before he follows, turning to the crowd again and waving with a bright smile.

Lee Changyoon still felt guilty for accepting the contract with Sphere and leaving 6tunes (except for covers). No matter how many times the band told him not to feel guilty, he would probably always feel it. Only the siblings got signed, so at least he wasn’t the only one to leave.

The keyboardist had been reading the fliers when he looked up to spot his bandmate. Smirking, Changyoon made a beeline for their bass guitarist. ❝ Sophie, my lovely Sophie. ❞ He handed her a flier. ❝ Do oppa a favour and take one? Have you seen Yennie yet? I think she’s around here somewhere? ❞

Stalker Flip Side Story (1:43 - 2:26)

To say that Lee Changyoon was shocked was an understatement. No, he was still gobsmacked. His band had not long debuted and yet half of them had been scouted, including his sister. He had attended the event with 6tunes just for fun. He never expected to be approached by a Sphere representative. At first, he thought he was dreaming or even in someone else’s dream. His ideal company had always been TRC, but Sphere was interested in him. Changyoon had always idolised TRC and its artists. He had always imagined himself debuting under TRC. When it was Sphere and not TRC that had scouted him, well, honestly, he was a little disappointed. It had taken him some time to think it over before he had agreed to make the call.

Of course, Changyoon had discussed his audition with 6tunes. The group had sat down after the event and spoken about what had happened. After some deep discussions, they had agreed to allow for the scouted members to audition. Being the eldest, Changyoon felt guilty. He should remain with the group, no matter what. The fact that he was even considering auditioning disgusted him. Even if the members encouraged him, he would forever feel guilty. He would have helped break up 6tunes and that was something he would have to live with forever.

He had scheduled his audition for the 14th and had begun preparing. Working underground made it easy for Changyoon to perform. It came naturally to him. Of course, his mind wandered to his sister and her audition. If he didn’t get in, he hoped at least she did. It was time. He also hoped Sophie was preparing well and that she was successful too. Despite his personality and appearance, he was kind to those he cared deeply about, and 6tunes were family to him.

As the audition day grew closer, Changyoon worked harder on perfecting his rapping skills. He practiced pronunciation and breathing. He worked on his speed and technique. He even worked on his gestures and stage presence. He used his underground performances to perfect the right combinations. Once he worked out the exact presence he wanted to use, he made a note to use it for the audition.

As for his song choice, well, that’s where things get interesting. See, as a joke, he had suggested a song to his sister joking that he wanted to do it. He then sent her the real song he would do. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), Yena, being his sister, had dared him to do the song he shouldn’t do and naturally Changyoon had accepted his little sister’s dare. This would either impress the staff or ruin his chances. He opted to go for the least worse verse.

The day finally came and Changyoon had arrived with a bit of extra time to spare in which he used for practice and last-minute perfections. Finally, his name was called, and it was his time. He walked into the room somewhat confidently and bowed 90 degrees. ❝ Nice to meet you, my name is Lee Changyoon. ❞

He didn’t say anything more. He felt like nothing else needed to be said. The music started and he began rapping.

I’m standing outside your door You said you were home Why is your door locked? How shocking is it to run into me at 1PM? I’m about to go crazy and lose myself

His rap started strong and deep. He worked on his breathing and technique. His gestures were subtle at first and he only really used his hands. Changyoon began to show expression in his face.

You were out because of church It’s not what I think with the person you met Oh I see, you were busy with a church friend What, you two had the urge to pray at 2AM? Please, be reasonable for once Give me something I can try to buy

This is where the emotions came. As each line escaped his lips, he became more and more passionate and invested in the words. It was as if he were the one who had originally wrote it. Changyoon had been cheated on before so he felt the words deeply. His gestures were more passionate and his facial expressions more precise. His breathing and pronunciation were exact. He moved around as he rapped.

Then you start asking why I don’t trust you Walking away saying you’re tired Because like always You thought I’d be like some homeless dog Clinging onto you, but bitch please not today Fuck, I really loved you, but you didn’t

The last two lines were where his emotions shone through. He even spat at one stage out of passion. He got lost in the words and their meanings. His verse was just under 90 seconds, but he hoped it was enough. He had tried to showcase his rap technique, pronunciation, emotions, gestures, stage presence, and overall personality. He had no idea if it was enough and the judges were not giving anything away. Sphere were hard to judge, and he wasn’t sure if he fit, but at least he tried.

He bowed once again after he finished, turned on his heels, and left the room.

                                  ╰☆╮ CAMP 101 ╰☆╮

This was only Sungmin’s second evaluation as a trainee and his first for the new year and it was already an intense one. First a camp, then a performance. When they were told they would be focusing on their weakest skill, Sungmin had initially thought he would have to sing and, well, that’s something that no one needed to hear. At least, not until his voice got better. Right now, his singing voice was far from ideal and not one he was ready to share just yet.

Thankfully, however, after the New Year’s speech and the mention of the camp, the Sphere boys were told they’d be working on their performance skills. Yes, he didn’t have to sing! He did, however, have to spend three days in a camp with people and that was something he wasn’t looking forward to. He wondered what his sister would be doing. He made a note to ask her later.

Preparing for the camp was no fun for Sungmin and he was not ready when the day finally came. He could barely get through a rehearsal with these boys, let alone spend three days straight with them. The ride to the camp was awkward for a lot of people and the rapper could only imagine what the actual camp would be like.

The first day was the easiest. The other two days not so much. The camp was just as long as their normal schedule but more intense and Sungmin was often tired by the end. The trainers weren’t joking when they said they would be focusing on performance skills. All their lessons were either dance or breathing. Thankfully, he had some dancing background or else he would be fucked.

Sungmin only knew two of the other male trainees on a friendly level and so having to work with the whole group was a bit awkward. He didn’t know the group enough on a whole to know who the best dancer was but Sungmin had some leadership experience thanks to 6tunes and so he was more than happy to help lead if that’s what it took to get these lessons over with quickly. He didn’t care if he made enemies. He was here to learn and to push himself, not to make friends. Hopefully, he didn’t need to step into a leadership role, but he was always ready should it be needed.

Food breaks were always savoured by everyone because, well, they were working hard. The end of the night was often enjoyed by everyone and Sungmin took the opportunity to rest his body. He would often check in with Yena and see how she was doing, and the siblings would have a quick conversation before bed. He would not have been able to do this had Yena not been signed as well. He made sure to check in with Jungkook too since he knew how his friend could get.

The ending of the camp could not come soon enough and Sungmin made sure he spent the rest of his free time resting and preparing for the return back to their normal schedules.

|| ✧ ––––  it’s been a long time coming, but they’re finally here. sophie can’t keep the smile off her face as they wait by the stage, bouncing on her toes and toying with the picks in her hand. she’s never been nervous about performing, being on stage as natural to her as breathing, the spotlight a warm presence, but she is excited. being part of a band has always been one of her dreams, performing in front of thousands of people and sharing unique moments with their fans. granted, they’re not quite as big yet, and their fans are few and far in between, but sophie is just as excited anyway. 

she looks around at the rest of the members, giving them encouraging smiles and nods. it’s their first official performance as a group, and they’re all nervous and excited for it, but sophie is sure it’s going to be great. they’ve rehearsed enough that they sound good, and even if they don’t or the audience doesn’t like them for whatever reason, at least they’ll have fun. which really, it’s all sophie cares about. as long as she’s enjoying herself and doing what she actually wants to do, what does it matter what anyone else thinks? 

as soon as they go on stage, sophie’s smile turns into a smirk, her inherent cheekiness coming out. she plugs her bass and makes sure it’s tuned correctly before they start, pushing her hair out of her face one last time before the music plays. throughout the performance, adrenaline rushes through sophie’s veins, as she performs and sings, cheeky smiles and impish smirks playing on her face. the first song they’re performing, a cover of a girl group song, isn’t exactly sophie’s cup of tea, although she’ll say that the adaptation they’ve created works well and actually is something she’d listen to of her own volition, but sophie enjoys performing it nonetheless. the second song, though, that’s straight up sophie’s alley. it’s the style of music that takes over 90% of her collection and the one she always imagines herself performing in front of massive crowds. and even though there’s only a few people watching them perform, sophie plays like she’s in a big stadium, enjoying herself and letting the music and the adrenaline carry her through the performance. 

once their set is through and adrenaline drains from her body, a wide smile takes over sophie’s face again, grin so big her cheeks hurt, but she doesn’t care. this is what she was meant to do.

「  Haunted Hound  」 ⇢ Rk Zombie Night Solo ( +2 CH ) ⇢ every ending is a new beginning

“ Now everything was over. Things should be good but somehow they weren’t.  ”

Yuzu looks at her own reflection as she gets ready to meet the rest of her band. Since their debut life had been somewhat crazy. She was some kind of rockstar now- someone people could recognize not for her streams and her being goofy but her artistic skills instead. It was an interesting progress which she wished hadn’t been overshadowed by that creeper who sought revenge from her. 

With a sigh the whiskers on her face became visible, the girl trying to do a decent job at painting them onto her face. Her vlog cam was fully charged and her costume on point. It would be their first unique vlog as an established group and Yuzu would be in charge of providing the footage. Of course it made sense in a way but she still felt both proud and nervous.

Now that things had been taken care of the girl couldn’t help but be left with a lingering sense of unease and of course sadness. The whole affair had made her lose Aron for good and even if she knew it would be for the better it didn’t stop the heartache.

Looking at her own reflection the drummer forced a smile onto her lips before it dropped right back down. It would take some effort to be her usual cheerful self but she had put the band through enough with her issues. The least she could do now is be the chaotic maknae they all loved so dearly. At least the thought of them made it a little easier to smile.

「  Royal Conquest, Take Two 」 ⇢ RK Zombienight Scouting | Song ( 0:33 - 2:03) ⇢ Yuzu bringing one (1) whole portable drum kit

“ Her name was Choi Yuzu. She was here to stay this time. ”

This is the second time she has been in this waiting hall but the forth time she's about to face So Jisub's judgement. Her history with Royal began one year ago in... well not precisely the same halls but the sentiment counted either way. One time she had passed his judgement, the other two he had sent her home. That she could dance he was aware of right now. It was on her to prove she could sing now. 

 And sing she would but not without a little twist to it. 

 As her name is called she carries her portable drum set into the room, flashing the panel a wide grin while bowing her head in greeting. "Good Day everyone! Bear with me for a second," she requests as she starts setting up the set at a speed that may as well also be considered a talent in itself. Once the set is plugged in and Yuzu made sure everything is working accordingly she grabs onto her drumsticks firmly and straightens her back for a perfect 90° bow to introduce herself. 

 "My name is Choi Yuzu and I'm here to stay this time!" A bold statement to make but the girl was confident. "One year ago I was right here with my rendition of a pokemon theme song performance. Then I got booted in the second round of this year's MGA season because my voice was too weak. Now," she states, pointing her drumstick right at the panel with a determined expression on her face that morphs into a charming smile as she finishes her sentence. "I'm here to show you even more of what you'll be missing out on if you let me go again this time!"

Twirling the stick across her finger to bring it back towards herself she nods for the music to start, volume kept evenly on a level where her voice could still be heard even if she hit the drums too enthusiastically. And indeed true to what she promised there is an explosion of charisma that happens as she hits the drumsticks against her set. 

Singing in Japanese had been something she contemplated back at the MGA's already but discarded it last minute. Now she was here to show that she couldn't only dance and speak fluent English and Korean, no, she could speak Japanese as well and play the drums and actually sing well while playing them too!

Shishido Kafka was one of her major idols as a singer who also is a drummer and Yuzu hald always wanted to cover one of her songs. Even when she had wanted to do a full live cover with 6tunes instead of using a backing track with missing drums for a Royal audition, she couldn't pass that chance up. Most of them had gotten auditions and like she had told them "it's like eating lobster! you dun even know if y'gon like it but y'wanna try it anyway cause it's special ya know?" So here she was, doing her best, silently rooting for the others, unable to fight the smile of her lips despite this being potentially the first and last original tracks 6tunes made for BMSG entertainment. 

 When she was done, slightly out of breath but happy about her performance and left with a certain excitement for potential new adventures at the horizon, Yuzu couldn't help but exhale a light chuckle. If Royal didn't take her this time? Honestly, it'd be their loss.
