── .✦ Zoro:
The Thousand Sunny is quiet most days, but today feels especially peaceful. The crew’s scattered across the deck sunbathing, napping, playing cards, and you? You’re on a mission.
Zoro’s disappeared again.
“Where did he go this time?” you mutter, padding softly down the hallway. You’ve checked the deck, the crow’s nest, even behind the kitchen. Nothing. Then you think... of course! The training room.
Sure enough, you step inside and spot him, dead asleep on the floor, his swords lying beside him like loyal dogs. He looks peaceful, his breathing deep and even. You smile. He really can sleep anywhere.
You don’t mean to sit down next to him, but somehow, you do.
Just for a minute.
Just long enough to rest your head against his shoulder.
Next thing you know, it’s dark. The room’s dipped in shadow, the ship creaking gently. You jolt upright, a little dazed.
“Zoro—sorry, I didn’t mean to—”
But he just grunts, shifting a little. His shoulder doesn’t move from under your cheek.
It becomes a pattern after that.
You find him again a few days later, this time slumped in a corner of the dining room. You lie down nearby. Sleep drags you under before you can think twice. When you wake, your head is in his lap.
“You’re fine” he murmurs, when you apologize again. Like it’s no big deal. Like he’s used to you being there.
And you start to think… maybe he is.
The naps become frequent. Easy. Comfortable. You stop trying to come up with excuses. You sit beside him on the deck while the others chatter. You lean against him while he sharpens his swords. He never pulls away.
One night, you find him leaning against the wall of the storage room, eyes half-lidded, arms crossed. The moment you walk in, he straightens, just barely, but enough for you to know he was waiting.
He pulls you in without a word. A kiss. Slow, familiar. His hands are warm on your back.
“I missed you” you whisper against his collarbone.
Zoro exhales through his nose “You saw me four hours ago.”
“Still.”
He doesn’t argue. Just leans his forehead against yours.
It’s sweet. Undisturbed. Until you hear footsteps and both of you freeze.
“Shhhit” you whisper, slipping away as quiet as you can.
Neither of you sees Chopper peeking from behind a barrel.
The next day, the crew is watching. Not subtly.
You notice Nami watching you with a knowing smirk. Robin sips her tea, but there’s amusement in her gaze. Sanji is glaring daggers at Zoro (okay, that’s normal), but Usopp is squinting at you both like he’s trying to solve a puzzle.
You clear your throat “What?”
Usopp narrows his eyes further “You and Zoro have been acting weird.”
Your heart nearly stops.
You glance at Zoro, who doesn’t even flinch as he takes another bite of his rice “What the hell are you talking about?”
“That you two are obviously acting weird lately...” Nami finally says.
Zoro doesn’t even blink “You’re imagining things.”
“You’re eating your vegetables...” she points out.
Zoro shrugs “Coincidence.”
“You showed up early to dinner” Usopp adds, suspicious.
“Must’ve been a fluke.”
Brook, not missing a beat, says, “I saw you napping with her head on your lap again. Yohohoho~”
You wish you could melt into your chair. But Zoro? Calm as ever.
“She was tired,” he says flatly “What’s the problem?”
Luffy gasps dramatically “You’re dating!!”
Zoro sighs “We were resting.”
You stare at your plate, but a warm touch to your hand under the table grounds you.
Zoro, looking at you like the whole world could wait.
Days pass. You try to be extra careful. Less glances. Less sneaky meetings. Less…everything.
But it doesn’t matter.
Because one night, the crew catches you.
It happens so fast. One moment, you’re on watch duty, and the next, Zoro is there, dragging you into a kiss. It’s heated, his hands gripping your waist, your fingers tangled in his hair, completely lost in each other.
Then “AH-HA!!”
You jolt apart.
Usopp is pointing at you both, eyes wide with betrayal “I knew it!!”
The entire crew is gathered behind him, staring.
Luffy tilts his head “Wait, were we not supposed to know?”
Sanji is fuming “Why him?! You could do so much better, Y/N-chan!”
Robin chuckles “It was quite obvious, honestly.”
Chopper bounces excitedly “I saw them sneaking around weeks ago!”
You cover your face in embarrassment “Oh my god, it was you!”
Zoro groans, rubbing the back of his neck “Tch. Should’ve known you idiots would figure it out. You never mind your own business.”
Luffy grins “Well, at least you don’t have to sneak around anymore!”
Zoro pauses, then shrugs “Guess that’s true.” He turns to you, smirking “Means I can kiss you whenever I want now.”
Your face burns “Zoro!!”
The crew erupts in laughter (except for Sanji, he cries louder).
Secret’s out.
Now you nap by his side without hiding. You lean against him on long afternoons. You sit close at meals. Luffy teases you both constantly. Sanji mutters curses under his breath. But it’s fine.
It’s more than fine. It’s peaceful.
That night, after dinner, you find yourself heading below deck. The ship rocks gently with the sea, moonlight shining through the portholes.
You already know where you’ll find him.
He’s sitting in the training room, back against the wall, swords neatly stacked beside him. When you walk in, he glances up, but he doesn’t say anything.
You sit beside him, stretching your legs out in front of you.
“I thought I might find you here” you say.
Zoro grunts, not disagreeing.
Silence settles in. Comfortable. You shift slightly, laying your head in his lap. He doesn’t move, just lets his fingers find their way into your hair, slow and soothing.
It’s a simple thing. The kind of closeness that doesn’t ask for anything in return.
His hand runs gently over your scalp. You feel your eyes drifting shut again.
“I like this” Zoro says, voice low, almost a rumble.
You blink sleepily, your cheek still pressed to his thigh “Hm?”
“You. Sleeping like this.” He pauses “On my lap.”
Your heart flutters at the quiet honesty. You glance up at him, but he’s not looking down, he’s staring straight ahead, the barest hint of pink on his cheeks.
“I like it too” you murmur.
Zoro’s thumb brushes just behind your ear, then down the back of your neck, repeating the motion. A steady rhythm. Grounding. Careful.
His fingers slip into your hair again, and he continues tracing lazy circles on your scalp. His other hand rests lightly on your arm, as if to say, I’ve got you.
You drift off to the sound of his breathing, calm and slow.
The next morning, sunlight filters through the windows.
You wake slowly, still curled up in Zoro’s lap. His fingers are tangled gently in your hair, and his thumb brushes your temple in slow, steady passes.
You tilt your head, eyes meeting his.
“How long have you been awake?” you whisper.
Zoro smirks, eyes warm “Long enough.”
You stretch, reluctant to move.
“I’m comfortable” you mumble.
He doesn’t stop touching your hair “Good.”
“Zoro?”
“Hm?”
“I think I’m getting used to this.”
He finally looks down at you, something quiet in his expression, softness, maybe. Peace.
“Yeah,” he says “Me too.”
And you smile, because in this floating world full of chaos, monsters, and adventure… it’s the quietest moments like this that feel the most real.
── .✦ Sanji:
Sanji is always everywhere. In the kitchen. On the deck. Serving drinks. Flirting with Nami and Robin. Spinning around like the lovestruck idiot he is.
Which is exactly why no one suspects a damn thing.
No one notices how his hand brushes against yours just a little longer when he passes you a plate. No one questions why he always makes extra of your favorite dish. And no one, not even Usopp, the self-proclaimed detective, realizes that when Sanji disappears from the kitchen at night, it’s to be with you.
Like right now.
It’s past midnight, and the kitchen is dimly lit. The scent of fresh tea and something sweet lingers in the air as you lean against the counter, watching Sanji work. His sleeves are rolled up, his vest discarded, and the soft glow of the lantern makes his golden hair look even more unruly.
“You’re spoiling me” you murmur as he places a small plate in front of you a delicate pastry, still warm.
Sanji grins, wiping his hands on a towel “Of course, mon amour. What kind of man would I be if I didn’t?”
You take a bite, humming in satisfaction “Mmm. Amazing.”
His eyes soften as he leans in, resting his palms on the counter on either side of you “I can think of something even sweeter.”
Before you can respond, he captures your lips in a slow, lingering kiss. You melt into him, gripping the fabric of his shirt as his fingers gently tilt your chin up. His lips taste like mint and a hint of the dessert he just made, and you lose yourself in the warmth of him.
Then a loud BANG from outside the door.
Both of you freeze.
Sanji pulls back, glancing at the entrance “Shit—”
You practically shove him away, wiping your lips as the door swings open.
“Oi, I swear, I'm not here to see your ugly face, I need—”
Zoro stops mid-sentence, looking between the two of you. His eyes narrow.
Your heart stops.
Sanji, ever the smooth talker, immediately turns to glare at him “Moss-head, do you have no manners? Barging into my kitchen?”
Zoro scowls “Tch. Like I wanna be here. Luffy’s whining about meat, and I—” His gaze shifts back to you. Suspicious.
You force a casual smile “Uh… late-night snack?”
Zoro doesn’t look convinced. His eyes flick between the two of you once more before he grunts “Whatever. Just bring food before Luffy eats Chopper.”
He turns and leaves.
You don’t breathe until the door clicks shut. Then you glare at Sanji “We almost got caught.”
Sanji just smirks, brushing his fingers over your wrist “But we didn’t.”
You always try to act normal. You really do. But Sanji makes it so damn difficult.
He’s always sneaking glances at you across the table. Always brushing against you when he walks by. Always bringing you your favorite snacks, acting like it’s nothing.
And apparently, the crew is starting to catch on.
“You guys ever notice that Sanji doesn’t flirt with Y/N as much as he does with Nami and Robin?” Usopp suddenly asks one day.
Your spoon nearly slips from your hand.
Franky strokes his chin “Huh. Now that you mention it…”
Brook chuckles “Ohhh, that is unusual.”
Luffy, mouth full, tilts his head “But Sanji flirts with everyone.”
Zoro scoffs “Yeah. Except Y/N.”
Your stomach drops.
Sanji, who had been stirring a pot at the stove, doesn’t even flinch “I’m just being a gentleman.”
Nami raises an eyebrow “Are you, though?”
Sanji turns, flashing his usual charming smile “Of course, my dear! Why would I treat Y/N-chan any different?”
You force a nervous laugh “Right! That would be weird, huh?”
They don’t look convinced.
Robin simply sips her tea, giving you both a knowing look.
In the end, it’s Luffy who ruins everything.
One day you and Sanji are in the storage room, tucked away between crates of supplies, wrapped up in each other. His hands are in your hair, his lips teasing against yours, and the rest of the world doesn’t exist... at least until the door slams open.
“SANJI, ARE YOU IN HE—oh.”
Luffy stops. Blinks. Tilts his head.
You and Sanji are frozen in place, practically tangled together.
Luffy’s face slowly lights up “OOOOHHHH!!!”
You scramble back “L-Luffy, it’s not what it looks like—”
“YOU GUYS WERE KISSING!!”
Sanji sighs, rubbing his temples “Goddammit.”
Before you can even try to shut him up, Luffy sprints out of the room.
You stare at the door in horror “Oh no.”
“OH YES” Sanji groans, already dreading what’s about to happen.
“GUYS!!” Luffy yells at the top of his lungs “SANJI AND Y/N ARE KISSING!!”
A beat of silence. Then an explosion of multiple “WHAT?!”
Usopp “I knew something was up!!”
Franky “That’s SUPER unexpected!”
Brook “OHOHO, young love~!”
Chopper “How long has this been going on?!”
Nami “You guys really thought you were being secretive?”
Robin chuckles knowingly “Adorable.”
Zoro grinning smugly “Called it.”
Sanji groans, burying his face in his hands “Kill me now.”
You sigh, crossing your arms “Well. Secret’s out.”
Sanji straightens, huffing dramatically before flashing you a smirk “At least now I don’t have to hold back anymore, mon amour~”
He dips you backward, kissing you full on the mouth right in front of the crew.
Cue, another round of screaming.
── .✦ Law:
Dinner on the Polar Tang is always loud. Jokes, clinks of silverware, and Bepo’s laugh echo off the metal walls.
You sit between Shachi and Penguin, pretending to listen to their story about a giant sea bass they swear was “this big”, but your eyes keep drifting across the table to Law.
Your secret boyfriend. Your captain. The man who never smiles in public, but melts when you’re alone.
No one knows. Not even Bepo. You’ve kept it quiet for months. Private looks, quick touches in dark halls, and soft kisses in his room late at night.
Today, before dinner, you stopped by his quarters. Things got… heated.
“Hold still” you say, laughing as you straddle his lap, pressing kiss after kiss on his jaw, his cheek, his neck.
“You’re gonna leave marks” Law murmurs, but his hands stay firm on your hips.
“Good,” you whisper against his throat, lips painted with your favourite lipstick “Let everyone wonder who’s bold enough to kiss the Surgeon of Death.”
He smirks, but you clean him up after. Or so you think.
Now, mid-dinner, you notice it.
Right on the collar of his white shirt, just above the neck, there's a soft red smudge. Lipstick. Your lipstick.
Your eyes widen.
Shachi nudges you “Hey, is that… is there something on Captain’s shirt?”
Penguin leans forward “Yo, Captain. You spill something?”
Law blinks. Looks down “What?”
Bepo tilts his head “No, that looks like lipstick.”
Silence falls over the table. Everyone stares.
You try to act innocent, chewing your food and glancing around like you’re just as confused.
“Lipstick?” you say, blinking “Who around here even wears lipstick?”
They all look at Ikkaku.
She doesn’t even look up from her bowl “Not me,” she mutters “That's not even my color.”
Penguin raises an eyebrow “So… that means…” He turns his head slowly toward you “You’re the only one who does.”
Shachi points between you and Law “Wait… Are you two…?”
Law doesn’t say a word. He just sips his tea like nothing’s happened.
You smile, wide and unapologetic “Guess I missed a spot.”
Silence.
Then chaos.
“WHAT?!” Shachi practically jumps over the table “YOU AND THE CAPTAIN?!”
“How long?!” Penguin shouts, eyes wide “Since when?! HOW DID WE NOT NOTICE?!”
Bepo stands up so fast he knocks over his stool “You’re dating the captain?!”
You raise an eyebrow “You guys okay? You look like you’re gonna pass out.”
“Don’t play innocent!” Penguin waves his spoon “You’ve been sneaking around with him! That’s our captain!”
Shachi gasps dramatically “All those times you disappeared after dinner… And that one time you came back with messy hair! I thought it was just wind!”
“Eheh, I am the wind” you say with a smirk.
Law sighs “You’re all loud.”
Bepo stares “So it’s true? You and Y/N?”
Law glances at you, then shrugs “Yeah.”
Another wave of panic.
“THE WAY HE SAID THAT!” Penguin screams.
“SO CALM—SO COOL—WHAT THE HELL!” Shachi is holding his head like it might explode.
Ikkaku finally looks up, deadpan “You’re all idiots.”
You lean into Law’s side, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Told you they’d freak.”
“Mm,” Law mutters “Still worth it.”
Bepo sniffles “I feel so betrayed… I thought we were a family.”
“We are,” you say “Just… a family with a very attractive captain who’s taken.”
“STOP,” Shachi yells “I CAN’T UNSEE IT.”
Law smirks just a little. And you can’t help it, you kiss his cheek in front of everyone, just to drive them a little more insane.
It’s been two days since The Lipstick Incident.
Two days of nonstop teasing.
“Morning, Y/N.”
“Or should we say Mrs. Surgeon of Death?”
You roll your eyes as Shachi and Penguin trail behind you like annoying seagulls.
“Captain! Can Y/N still go on missions or is she on girlfriend duty today?”
“Should we start knocking before entering the medbay now?”
Law mostly ignores them. Mostly. Except that time he dead-eyed Penguin and said, “Keep talking and I’ll switch your arms.”
The jokes died down for a few hours after that. But Bepo has become the most dramatic.
“I still can’t believe I found out at dinner like that,” he says, curled in a blanket like he’s mourning “I needed time to process.”
You plop down next to him on the couch “We didn’t mean to keep it from you. It was just… easier that way.”
He looks at you “Are you happy with him?”
You pause, then smile “Yeah. He makes me feel safe. And seen. Even if he doesn’t say much.”
Behind you, Law’s voice chimes in “I say plenty.”
You turn, surprised “You were eavesdropping?”
“It’s my ship.”
He walks over, drops a kiss on your forehead right in front of everyone. You expect chaos again, but the room is quiet.
Then Bepo grins “Okay. I approve.”
Shachi sighs “Fine. But if we ever hear weird noises from the engine room again—”
“—I will personally sedate you” Law cuts in.
The crew bursts into laughter.
Penguin raises his cup “To our captain and his secret weapon—Y/N!”
Everyone cheers. Even Ikkaku raises an eyebrow and gives you a subtle nod.
You look up at Law. He doesn’t smile much. But you see softness around the eyes, just for you.
Secret’s out. And honestly? It feels kind of nice.
── .✦ Koby:
The marine base is quiet at night, almost peaceful. You walk along the edge of the courtyard, your boots barely making a sound on the stone floor. The moon is high, casting soft light over the base. You pause near the training field and look around. No one’s there.
Good.
“Koby?” you whisper, stepping behind a storage shed.
A soft rustle comes from the shadows. Then he steps out. His hair is a little messy, his uniform jacket open.
“You’re late” he says, but he smiles.
You roll your eyes “Only by five minutes.”
Koby glances around. He takes your hand and pulls you closer into the shadow of the wall. His hand is warm. You lean into him, your heartbeat fast.
“If anyone sees us…” he says, his voice low.
“No one will,” you say quickly “They never do.”
He chuckles “We’re getting good at this.”
“You mean I’m getting good at it,” you tease “You still get nervous when someone says my name.”
“That’s because Garp keeps watching me like he knows something” Koby says, eyes wide.
You laugh “Maybe he does.”
Koby groans “Don’t say that.”
You lean up and kiss his cheek “Relax. We’re always careful.”
He smiles at you, that soft look he only gives when it’s just the two of you “I missed you.”
“I saw you this morning.”
“That doesn’t count. You were in uniform. You called me Sir.”
You smirk “Would you prefer Captain Sweetheart?”
Koby covers his face, laughing quietly “Please don’t.”
The sound of footsteps suddenly cuts the moment short.
You both freeze.
“Did you hear that?” you whisper.
Koby nods, already pulling away. You both hide behind the shed just as two lower-ranked marines walk by, talking about some drill tomorrow. They don’t see you.
Your heart pounds. When the footsteps fade, you let out a breath.
Koby looks at you, serious now “We can’t keep doing this forever.”
You know what he means. But you don’t want to think about it. Not tonight.
“Let’s just have this,” you say “Right now.”
He nods slowly, fingers brushing against yours again “Right now.”
Neither of you say the words out loud, but they’re there, floating in the silence.
This is dangerous but it’s totally worth it.
The sky looks angry today.
Wind whips through the courtyard, and the clouds hang low like they’re ready to fight someone. Fitting, considering your brain’s in a brawl with itself after what Helmeppo said the day before.
"Koby, huh?"
You can’t stop hearing it. His smirk. That I-know-something-you-don’t-want-me-to-know tone.
You march past the barracks, straight toward the supply shed, your usual spot. You pace in tight circles. The door creaks. Koby walks in, drenched from the rain already starting.
“I heard Helmeppo” he says.
You nod “I didn’t tell him anything.”
“I know. But he knows. He’s probably telling his pillow right now.”
You snort, even though your chest feels tight.
“What do we do?” you ask.
Koby looks out the cracked window “I don't think anyone would even care about what Helmeppo says, but I’ve been thinking about it all day.”
You wait.
“…What if we stop hiding?”
You blink “Just like that?”
He shrugs “We tell the truth. If we get in trouble, we get in trouble. At least it’s not lying anymore.”
You walk up to him, water dripping from the edge of the window onto your boots “You’re serious?”
He nods “You’re worth the risk.”
Before you can answer—BOOM! The door BURSTS open like it owes someone money.
There stands Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp, holding a giant sack of snacks.
“I KNEW IT!” he bellows, pointing a meat bun at both of you like it’s a pistol “I KNEW YOU TWO WERE SWAPPING LOVE NOTES INSTEAD OF LOGBOOKS!”
Your soul nearly leaves your body. Koby jumps like he just got hit by lightning.
Garp stomps inside, water puddling under his boots “You think I’m old and blind?! I see everything! The glances! The disappearing acts! The suspiciously timed bathroom breaks!”
You and Koby look at each other, stunned.
“I—uh—we weren’t—” you stammer.
Garp holds up a finger “Don’t lie! I’ve seen more romance in your sneaky hallway nods than in a whole damn soap opera!”
Koby finally finds his voice “Vice Admiral Garp, we—”
Garp grabs two rice balls from his bag and tosses them at your heads.
“About time! I was betting with Sengoku you two would crack by this month!” He slaps Koby on the back so hard he almost falls over “Make it work, kiddo. Or I’ll make you regret everything.”
He stomps back into the storm, yelling at the sky.
“I WANT A WEDDING INVITE WHEN THIS BLOOMS INTO MARINE-SANCTIONED LOVE!”
Then he’s gone.
The silence is unreal.
“…Did he just bless our relationship and threaten us at the same time?” you ask.
Koby looks dazed “I think he also gave us lunch.”
You both stare at the rice balls on the ground.
You reach for one “So… no more hiding?”
Koby grins “No more hiding.”
You nod “Good. But that wasn’t romantic. That was a jump scare.”
By the next morning, everyone knows.
You’re not sure how.
Maybe it was Garp yelling across the courtyard. Maybe it was the rice ball slap. Maybe it was the way Koby smiled at you in front of a full squad meeting like it was no big deal. But now, it’s official.
You’re walking through the halls and two marines actually wink at you.
One gives you a thumbs-up. Another whispers, “Cute couple” like this is high school.
And then there’s Helmeppo, waiting by the stairs like he’s been practicing his lines all night.
“Well, well, well,” he drawls “Look who finally stopped sneaking off like a pair of guilty raccoons.”
You roll your eyes “Don’t you have training or something?”
“Oh, I do. But this is more fun,” he says, grinning “You two really had me fooled. All those ‘Yes, sir’s and ‘Permission to speak freely’s. Cute. Very professional. Very fake.”
“I will tape your mouth shut” you say calmly.
“Spicy,” Helmeppo whistles “No wonder Koby’s in love.”
You expect Koby to stammer. To panic. To turn bright red and pretend none of this is happening.
Instead, he wraps his arm around your waist and says “Yeah. I am.”
What.
You turn to him “Who are you and what did you do with the shy marine I was dating in secret?”
He grins, a little pink in the cheeks, but steady “I’m done hiding. I like holding your hand. I like saying it.”
Helmeppo looks personally attacked “You’re gonna make me throw up.”
Koby shrugs “Go drink some water.”
You’re still trying to recover from the whiplash when Koby turns to you again, softer this time. No audience, no drama, just him.
“I missed being close to you,” he says “Even just walking next to you without pretending it means nothing. I hated pretending.”
Your heart tugs.
“I know,” you say “I did too.”
He leans in, forehead resting lightly against yours “Now I can do this.”
He kisses you. Just a short, sweet kiss. Right there in the hallway.
Someone behind you gasps. Someone else claps. It’s probably Garp. Or Helmeppo. Or both.
You laugh into Koby’s shoulder “We’re never gonna hear the end of this.”
“Good,” he says “Let them talk.”
── .✦ Ace:
It starts small.
Ace, lover of chaos and borderline inedible food, begins pushing onions off his plate.
At first, nobody says anything. Maybe he just wasn't in the mood. Maybe he’s just not feeling it today.
Then it happens again.
And again.
.........And again.
By the fourth time, Thatch is watching him like he’s trying to solve a murder.
“You good, man?”
Ace blinks, mid-push “Huh?”
“You keep banishing onions like they stole your ship or something.”
Ace shrugs “They just taste weird lately.”
Thatch narrows his eyes “You used to eat them raw.”
“Tastes change.”
“You once drank onion juice.”
“I was bored.”
“You said it ‘cleared the sinuses.’”
Ace looks up at him with a done expression “…And it did.”
Thatch is unconvinced. He stares at the sad pile of abandoned onions like they hold answers.
A few days later, Marco walks across the deck and almost trips over you.
You’re napping.
Not unusual. But you’re napping exactly like Ace. Flat on your back. Arm flopped over your face. One boot still on, one off. Dead to the world.
Marco leans down “You good?”
You snore lightly and mumble something about “I hate onions... mh”.
Marco’s eye twitches.
He walks off slowly and finds Thatch.
“We have a situation.”
Izou, Marco, Thatch, and Jozu sit in a huddle like they’re planning a heist.
Thatch slaps down a napkin with dramatic flair.
“Exhibit A: Ace has stopped eating onions.”
“Exhibit B,” Marco adds, “she naps like a dead log in the middle of the deck. Just like him.”
“Exhibit C,” Izou says, adjusting his coat, “he brushed his teeth twice in one day.”
Silence.
Jozu blinks “…What does that mean?”
Izou sighs “He’s trying not to taste bad, obviously.”
Marco nods slowly “Only one reason for all this.”
Everyone says it at once “He’s kissing someone.”
They all lean back like they’ve cracked the code.
Thatch grins wide “And we all know someone who always hated onions.”
Back on deck, you yawn and stretch, bumping into Ace as he leans on the rail.
“Morning” he says, smiling softly.
“You smell like mint” you mutter, surprised.
He leans in slightly “That a bad thing?”
You shake your head, trying not to grin “Nah. Kinda hot, actually.”
What you don’t notice is the small army of Whitebeard pirates across the deck, hiding behind barrels, crates, and a suspiciously placed sail, watching you both with the intensity of trained spies.
Thatch whispers, “Look at him. He’s glowing.”
Marco squints “Is that a love glow?”
Jozu nods “He’s never glowed before.”
Izou fans himself “My heart can’t take this.”
Thatch whispers like he’s narrating a nature documentary “Observe: the rare, emotionally available Ace, brushing his teeth and avoiding onions for the sake of romance.”
Marco chuckles “Should we say something?”
Thatch shakes his head, evil smile creeping in “Not yet. Let’s have a little fun first.”
The crew knows. You just don’t know that they know. Which is why things get weird really fast.
First, Thatch starts offering you food. All the time. Which wouldn’t be strange except “Here, Y/N, extra meat, no onions. Just how you like it” he says sweetly, placing it in front of you with a wink.
You blink “Thanks…?”
He beams “Y’know. For important stuff. Like kissing for example.”
You choke “What?”
“Kissing your enemies goodbye in battle, of course. Wouldn't be cool if you smell like onions.” he says innocently “What else would I mean?”
You narrow your eyes. He walks off humming the wedding march.
Weird.
Later that day, Marco corners Ace.
“You ever think about switching toothpaste brands?”
Ace looks up from his nap spot, squinting “What?”
“I heard mint’s nice” Marco says, deadly casual.
Ace raises a brow “I already switched. Why?”
“No reason,” Marco shrugs “Just figured you’d want to impress… someone.”
“…Like who?”
Marco just walks off.
Ace stares after him, confused.
Then there’s Izou.
He appears next to you while you’re doing your hair, watching like a hawk.
“Hmm” he says thoughtfully.
“What?”
“You’ve got a new little strand tucked behind your ear. That’s new.”
You frown “So? My hair just got a bit too long.”
“Just reminds me of how Ace tucks his hair sometimes. Cute. Subtle. Copying your crush is a classic move.”
You freeze “Wh-What crush?”
He smiles slowly “Oh, I didn’t say you had one.”
You almost trip over the comb.
And don’t even get started on Jozu. He starts playing “matchmaker” out of nowhere.
“Hey Y/N, what do you think of guys with freckles?”
You pause “I mean, freckles are nice... why?”
“No reason.” He grins “You like fire powers too?”
“…You’re literally describing Ace.”
“Am I?” he says, like he’s shocked at himself.
You walk away suspicious. The crew snickers behind your back.
By the end of the week, you’re starting to get twitchy. Ace too.
“Are they acting weird?” you whisper one night as you sit beside him on deck.
“Definitely,” he says, arms behind his head “Thatch winked at me when I refused onions at dinner.”
“Marco suggested I take a nap ‘in a more open, sunny place.’” You glance at him “Sound familiar?”
Ace groans “They’re onto something.”
You whisper, “Do you think they know?”
He shrugs “They’re dumb. I think we’re safe.”
The crew, literally hiding, listening in with cups pressed to the wood.
Thatch whispers, “They think we’re dumb.”
Marco snorts “They’re in love and hiding it like toddlers under a table.”
Izou fans himself “Give it another day. Then we strike.”
It starts over breakfast.
Again, totally normal day. Birds chirping. Sun’s out. Pirates being loud. You stroll in beside Ace, acting casual. Like you didn’t kiss him good morning five minutes ago behind the barrels.
You sit down.
He sits next to you.
Everything is fine. Until Thatch slams his fork on the table and stands up dramatically.
“Okay, this has gone on long enough.”
You and Ace both freeze.
Marco leans in lazily, sipping his coffee “So. You two are dating, right?”
Your eyes go wide.
Ace doesn’t even blink.
And at the exact same time:
You: “No! Who would even date him?”
Ace: “Yeah, we’re obviously dating.”
Silence.
A beat.
Then Jozu chokes on his juice. Thatch drops his spoon. Izou wheezes like he’s been punched.
Marco just blinks “Well. That answers that.”
You turn to Ace in slow motion “WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY??”
He frowns slightly “That we’re dating? What—why did you say that so disgusted?”
You hiss “Because you weren’t supposed to just admit it!”
“Why not? We’ve been caught.”
“I was trying to lie!”
Thatch is howling “Oh my god—‘Who would even date him??’ Babe, the man LITERALLY has your name carved into his pillow.”
You whip around “He WHAT?!”
Ace shrugs “Just the initials. It’s cute.”
Izou fans himself “I’m going to die. This is the best breakfast of my life.”
Marco grins “This is better than I expected”
Jozu “It’s like watching a romance novel crash into a comedy sketch.”
You bury your face in your hands “I hate this. I hate ALL of you.”
Ace pats your back gently “I think it’s going great.”
You glare at him “You’re enjoying this.”
“Of course. I don’t have to sneak around anymore. I get to call you mine out loud now.”
That… makes your face heat up. You try not to smile. You fail.
Thatch yells, “THEY’RE BLUSHING. IT’S REAL.”
Ace slings his arm around your shoulders, smug and unbothered “Don’t worry, babe. We’ll survive the embarrassment.”
Izou smirks “Barely.”
Marco raises his cup “To the worst cover-up attempt in Whitebeard history.”
Everyone cheers.
You groan and slump against Ace, who kisses your temple like the traitor he is.
Soft. Smiling. Loud and proud.
And now you’re never living this down.

DPXDC prompt. Nanny Wilson
Little Danny is almost lost in the mall when his parents suddenly run too fast in an attempt to catch up a ghost that their equipment has detected. Young Fenton is not a crybaby at all, but being alone without daddy and mommy is a little scary, so he begins to whimper and run around, trying to find familiar features in the blurry figures around him. Finally, he bumps into the thigh with a gun. It doesn't look much like an ectoblast, but dad is always inventing something new, so Danny quickly hugs this leg as hard as he can and begs loudly.
Danny: Daddy! Don't leave me! Slade: What the hell… Boy, I'm not your dad.
Danny blinks a few times and realizes that this man really doesn't look like Jack.
Danny: Oh. I'm sowwy. Can you help me find my daddy?
Slade: What makes you think I'm going to do this?
Danny: You have a gun and dad has a gun, so you're good. Are you here to hunt too? Slade: Something like that...What's your father's name, kid?
Jack: Danny! There you are!
A huge figure in a hazmat suit rushes towards them and Danny notices that his new friend is hastily hiding the weapon. To cheer up the man who is obviously meeting Jack Fenton for the first time, Danny smiles broadly. Dad may look scary, but he doesn't steal other people's toys.
Jack: Oh, thanks for looking after him. Our goal turned out to be too fast and we didn't even notice when our boy started to fall behind. Slade: No problem, colleague. Maddie: ? Danny: Kind uncle is also a hunter. Maddie: Oh, that's great! Em, sorry, but is there any chance that you have a time to look after our boy for a few days? We'll pay you well. You see, he rarely trusts people so quickly, and we absolutely do not have time to look for a replacement for our old nanny, and we really need to complete the last project as soon as possible.
Looking at the giggling boy trying to see if there are any other interesting things on him, Wilson decides that this will not be a bad experience in case he decides to establish a relationship with his found daughter.
Slade: All right, I'll take your order.
~~~About ten years later~~~
Danny, who is much more familiar with death than in canon, after being freshly ghosted: Damn, nanny will be so mad at me.
~~~~~ Danny: Hey, Slade. Do you want me to show you something cool? Slade: Not now, kid, nanny is cleaning up. Danny: Yeah, about that. *makes a corpse go through the ground* Ta-da! Can we talk now? Slade at the first second: *Surprised Pikachu face*. Slade when he notices a strange glow around Danny, like from ectoplasm in the lab of the boy's parents: >:( … >:( … >:( Danny: S-stop it!
~~~~~ Slade: And take out the bloodstains from those shirts too, they're my favorites. Danny: Oh dude, have you heard that child labor is illegal? Slade: Whoever doesn't help uncle Slade doesn't get a new knife for Christmas. Danny: Pfff…Now I'm my own weapon, come up with something new or I'll find myself a cooler mentor. Slade: Jackanapes!
~~~~~
When Wilson stumbles upon a distraught runaway Robin, he sincerely tries to take care of him as well as he took care of Danny. Deathstroke is an experienced babysitter, so there shouldn't be any problems with vigilante child being around on his missions. All children love knives, workouts and guns, right? Plus, staying alone when they are upset, as Jazz says, is unhealthy.
~~~~A few days later~~~~
Dick's thoughts: He wants to make me his evil sidekick, oh no! Wilson's thoughts: What's wrong with this kid? Batman so fucked up? Wayne needs to be stripped of his parental rights. I'm calling Jazz.
~~~~~
Wilson, who does not understand that he has been hanging out with Fentons too long, looks with perplexity at Grayson, who's running away from flying pieces of Maddie's pizza, then shoots some pepperoni and sits down at the table. It's going to be a long way. Poor boy.
~~~~~
Meanwhile, Fenton family is visiting Masters for the first time. Vlad tries to flirt with Maddie and then pretends to be good-natured while getting to know Danny.
Danny: I know 54 ways to kill you with this fork. If I were you I think I'd watch my mouth. Jack: He's joking, V-man. Danny: I'm not. Jack: He's just like his babysitter. They have such an unusual sense of humor. I think our boy really likes you! Usually Danny is too shy to talk like this with strangers. Vlad: Babysitter? Maddie: Yes, Mr. Wilson helped us out a lot and often did not even take payment. He's an angel. Vlad: I think I've heard that name somewhere before... Jack: Ugh, I want to introduce you anyway! Danny: Me too. Jack: Great. What about Wednesday? Danny: Dad, uncle might be busy. Let me ask him when he has time to, um, pay your old friend a visit.
LUFFY (feat. the Strawhat Crew)
You and your crew were wandering around the island you had landed on, both to refuel and have some fun. Every now and then it was good for all of you not to think about One Piece, adventure and the marines. Even just a day of complete relaxation could be useful to everyone and if Luffy was fine with it too then there was no problem. The entire crew was on land, there was no one left on the Sunny as it remained docked at the dock, safe, so that all your companions could take a tour of the city. Nami dragged you and Robin shopping, Chopper and Usopp admired the shops around you, Franky and Brook chatted at the back of the group, Sanji wanted to join you girls but every time Zoro made a comment about his perversion the two got into arguing as usual. And finally there was Luffy, who was begging you to stay with him.
“Y/nnn~” Luffy whined, wrapping his arms around your body and pressing himself against your back. "Come with me to find a restaurant, i'm so hungry!"
You smiled tenderly, raising a hand to pat his head, but Nami glared at him.
"If you need meat so badly, why don't you go with the others and find a place to eat instead of staying here and whining?" she said, trying to get him to detach from your body.
But Luffy protested, and wrapped his elastic arms around your body a couple more times, so that Nami couldn't do anything.
“But i want to be with Y/n!” He retorted, rubbing his cheek against yours, making Robin and Chopper giggle.
Nami gritted her teeth, she raised a hand and then...
BONK!
“Stop being such a baby!”
"Ow ow oww..." Luffy whimpered in pain, then he raised his head and glared at the girl. "What's your problem Nami?!"
You watched with pitying eyes as the bump grew on his head and you shifted your gaze to Nami.
"Nami... Aren't you exaggerating?"
But she crossed her arms and huffed.
"It's not my fault that he's always clinging to you. Is it wrong that i also want to spend some time with my girlfriends??"
“N-No, of course not…” you replied with an uncertain smile, not wanting to unnerve her further.
"Why do you always have to be so violent, it's not fair!" Luffy exclaimed again, holding you close. "Y/n is much nicer than you! You are mean Nami!"
"Call me mean again and i swear you'll get 10 more punches!" the girl retorted.
While you and Usopp tried to calm down the argument that was about to arise between the two, suddenly someone among the passersby started shouting.
"They are coming!"
"Everyone get on your knees, quick!"
Luffy got off your back and you and the others turned to see what was happening, seeing a small group of men approaching. Chopper and Usopp let out frightened squeals and immediately knelt on the ground as all the villagers were doing. It was at that moment that you and the others realized that that was none other than a World Noble.
“Shit… What is a Celestial Dragon doing here?” Sanji cursed under his breath, gripping his cigarette between his teeth.
"I don't know, but we better kneel on the ground like everyone else, so we won't have any problems" Franky replied.
So the rest of the crew also knelt on the ground, albeit reluctantly. The only one who hesitated to do so was obviously Luffy and you took his hand, pulling him towards you.
"Luffy come on, get down" you tried to call him.
Luffy turned to look at you with a serious look.
"I've punched a Celestial Dragon before, they don't scare me"
"Yes, but it's better not to create problems that could bring trouble to these people. If we stay silent, sooner or later they'll go away, okay?" You murmured, looking at him with pleading eyes. "Please, kneel down"
Luffy clenched his fists, but obeyed and he slowly knelt down next to you. You placed a hand on top of his and gave him a small, understanding smile, though he didn't return it. But you could understand it. And you all wanted to rebel against that selfish idiot of a noble, but the first time you had faced Admiral Kizaru it hadn't gone so well. So it was best to let it go so you could go back to doing your things without any hindrance.
"Hey you!" someone exclaimed.
Casting a quick glance, you realized that the Celestial Dragon had set its sights on your captain. You quickly took Luffy's hat and placed it on top of his head, trying to cover his face a little so as not to draw too much attention. But now it was useless. The Celestial Dragon descended from the poor human who was forced to carry him on his back and headed towards you, followed by two bodyguards and two knights.
"What took you so long to kneel down? Don't you know who i am?" the noble asked from inside his bubble.
You saw the gun glinting from his belt and you hoped with all your heart that he didn't use it. Luffy was immune to bullets, but you and the others were not.
Shit shit shit!
But then...
"Oh..."
You slowly raised your head to look at him and saw the Celestial Dragon pass his eyes over the crew, with a more surprised look.
“I see some very beautiful girls here…” he murmured, alternating his gaze from Nami to Robin, until his eyes then landed on you. "You!"
Your eyes widened when he pointed a finger at you.
"I have decided, you will be my wife!" he exclaimed.
"What?!" you and the others exclaimed at the same time, feeling a blow to your heart, while Luffy jerked his head up to look at him.
"Actually, you wouldn't be the first, but you're much prettier than all the other wives i've had, so you'll be staying with me for a while" the noble said casually, ignoring how Zoro had already placed a hand on his sword and Sanji's murderous look.
"Y-You can't do that!" Chopper exclaimed fearfully.
“Y/n is our friend and part of our crew, she'll never be your wife!” Usopp continued.
"Shut up you filthy pirates!" the Celestial Dragon then said, pointing a gun at your friends, making them fall silent. "I am a World Noble and i can do whatever i want! If you dare to cross me i will call the Navy and it will be the end of you!"
You felt Luffy's hand grip yours tightly and when you looked at him out of the corner of your eye, you saw him grit his teeth, remaining silent.
The Celestial Dragon snapped his fingers, then he pointed a finger at you.
"Take her to my palace. And if she rebels, hit her, but try not to ruin her face too much" he ordered one of his bodyguards, who took a step forward.
“Of course sir, we will make sure she is brought to your home in good condition”
The two walked towards you and you widened your eyes in fear, backing away. And when one of the two men reached out to grab your arm, he was suddenly thrown backwards, across the street and into the wall of a house in the distance. The citizens around you widened their eyes and some began to murmur in fear.
The Celestial Dragon widened his eyes and the knights behind him drew their swords, pointing them at your crew. Then the other bodyguard tried to grab you, but he met the same fate as his companion, thrown away by a punch to the face.
"H-How dare you?!" the Celestial Dragon shouted, raising his gun. "How dare you rebel against me! I'll make you pay for this!"
You turned to Luffy and saw him slowly stand up, letting go of your hand and standing protectively in front of you. He no longer cared about anything, he no longer cared that there was now a World Noble in flesh and bones in front of him. If someone wanted to take away one of his crew, if someone wanted to take you away, they would have to go over his corpse first.
"I'm not afraid of you" Luffy said, looking at him from under the shade of his straw hat. “And if you think that Y/n will ever want to come with you, you are very wrong”
Zoro stood up, following his captain's deeds and Sanji did the same.
"We know our girls are beautiful" the blond said, lighting a new cigarette and bringing it to his lips. “But their place is with us and i won't let a disgusting person like you take away our sweet Y/n”
Zoro didn't say anything, but simply pulled out one of his swords. Franky, Brook, Nami, Robin also stood up and finally Chopper and Usopp, determined after a few seconds of hesitation. Luffy had made up his mind and there was no going back.
Robin held out a hand to you with a smile, helping you to your feet and Nami positioned herself next to you.
The Celestial Dragon let out an angry grunt and pointed his gun at Luffy.
"Grr! What are you waiting for?! Attack them! And bring that woman here to me!"
The two soldiers ran towards Luffy with swords drawn, but before they could strike him, both were knocked out in seconds by Sanji and Zoro.
"Now give him a lesson Luffy" Zoro said with a smirk.
Luffy advanced on the Celestial Dragon, clenching his fists at his sides.
"S-Stay back!" he shouted, firing a couple of shots that made you jump.
Luffy promptly dodged them without any problem until he came within inches of his face.
"She's staying with me"
A shout, another punch on the nose and another World Noble who just received what he deserved.
You stared wide-eyed at the Celestial Dragon's body on the ground, his eyes white and his face bleeding. Silence reigned in the village for another couple of seconds, until the citizens began to shout and clap.
"There's nothing to be happy about!" Usopp whimpered, running his hands through his hair. "The Navy will be here soon!"
“Why do these things always happen to us?” Nami then complained, making Robin and Franky giggle, while Chopper started crying.
"I think we better go now, before we get into serious trouble" Brook said then.
Luffy turned, walking towards you and you flashed him a grateful smile.
"Thank you Luffy"
He continued to look at you seriously, until a wide smile spread across his face.
"Well i couldn't let them take you away, could i?" he exclaimed, then reached out and took your hand. “Hey, Y/n… You really want to be with me, right?”
You looked at him with red cheeks and bright eyes and while Sanji knelt on the ground heartbroken, the rest of the crew looked at you with tender looks.
“Wherever you go, i go too, Luffy” you replied then, making your fingers intertwine. "You are my captain. And you are also my family. I will always be by your side"
Luffy chuckled and then leaned forward to leave a loud kiss on your cheek. Then he started running, dragging you with him, his straw hair flying over his shoulders.
"Let's get back to the ship guys! We'll stop on another island!" he exclaimed, followed by all your other companions.
"Yes!"
ACE (feat. Marco, Thatch and Izo)
You were together with Ace, Marco, Thatch and even Izo while the others and Whitebeard remained on the Moby Dick. Initially you just wanted to go for a walk with Ace, but Thatch had to buy food for the crew since the supplies were running out and Izo had asked you for advice on new clothes, so you had decided to wander around the village together, while the others were waiting on the ship. Marco, on the other hand, had been instructed by Whitebeard to follow you and keep an eye on you, given that he was the most mature and responsible of all of you. But that was fine with you. You enjoyed being in the company of men who you could now consider like older brothers and your beloved Ace.
“Y/n honey, what do you think about this?” Izo asked you, coming out of the dressing room.
You flashed him a smile.
"It looks great on you, Izo"
"Mhh, are you sure?" he muttered, doing a spin and looking at himself. "I don't know, i feel like it makes me look fat..."
"Um, excuse me sir..." the shop owner's voice interjected. "That one is for women, men's clothes are on the other side"
Izo turned to glare at him.
"I wear what i want. Get lost"
The owner quickly walked away and you giggled.
“It doesn't make you look fat” you continued, looking back at him. "It really suits you, because you are beautiful. You could even wear a plastic bag and you would still be more beautiful than me"
"Aww thank you little one, you're really kind" Izo said looking at you tenderly, and then moving his gaze to Ace and the others. "Unlike these scoundrels..."
The three mentioned turned to you and Thatch rolled his eyes.
"You're just vain Izo and you're lucky that Y/n always supports you"
Izo looked at him with a grimace.
"Yeah and anyway know that for her the most handsome of all here is me, her boyfriend" Ace then said, putting his thumb to his chest proudly and then looking at you. "Right, sweetheart?"
You giggled, covering your mouth with a hand and feeling your cheeks heat up.
"You are all beautiful Ace, i can't say who is more and who less"
Ace let out a small groan of delusion, lowering his head and Thatch smiled amusedly. Next, Marco clapped his hands once, getting your attention.
"Come on, we didn't just come here to shop, we still need to buy some food-yoi. Pops and the others are waiting for us"
Izo hurriedly bought the new clothes he had shown you and then you all left the shop together, you and Ace hand in hand. It was at that moment that when you returned to the street, you saw that all the inhabitants of the city were kneeling on the ground, still as statues.
"What's going on here?" Ace muttered, looking around.
You pointed to a group of people approaching from afar.
"Look, someone's coming"
Marco was the first to realize who it was, but it was Thatch who spoke.
"Wait, but that's a..."
"A Celestial Dragon, yes" Izo continued. “What the hell is he doing in a place like this?”
"I don't know, but we better leave as soon as possible. I don't want any hassle today" Marco murmured.
Both you and the others turned to walk away from him, when a voice suddenly made you stop.
"Stop you!"
Ace let out a small curse under his breath, before turning to look at the noble.
"How dare you turn your back on me? I am a Celestial Dragon and i want people to kneel at my feet when i pass"
“Tch, in your dreams old man” Ace whispered giving you a look that made you chuckle under your breath.
You looked back at the noble, who was now approaching your group and you couldn't help but glare at him. You had heard the stories of the Celestial Dragons, horrible people who subjugated humans and other living creatures as their slaves, treating them as if they were objects. And the worst was that the government did nothing to stop them. It was unfair.
"You're pirates right?" the noble asked, looking at each of you with a grimace. "You are the scum of humanity"
You wanted to answer him, but you stopped yourself from doing so. It was best not to cause trouble with the World Nobles and the Navy, even if you were part of the crew of one of the four emperors.
"Hey, wait a minute..." he then murmured. "You are a beautiful woman, you know?"
His gaze fell on you and you felt a shiver of disgust run through your body.
“I want you to be my wife” he said then, making your eyes widen.
"Absolutely not!" Ace exclaimed, quickly positioning himself in front of you.
Izo took your hand, making you take a couple of steps back with him.
“I'm the one who decides here, brat” the noble retorted, pulling out a gun and pointing it at Ace and even though you knew the bullets wouldn't have done anything to him, you still felt the anxiety of the situation pervade your body. "That woman will come with me and be my new wife"
"She's not going anywhere with you, you old pervert" Ace growled and within seconds one of his hands began to catch fire in anger.
"Ace no!" you exclaimed, because you didn't want him to hurt the Celestial Dragon otherwise there would have been worse trouble.
You started to move closer to him, but Thatch held out an arm to hold you back, leaving you with Izo, while he and Marco went to Ace's sides.
The Celestial Dragon loaded his gun and ordered his bodyguards to do the same. As they pointed their guns at Ace and the others, Izo drew his guns as well, quickly shoving you behind his back.
“We're sorry to disappoint your expectations, but our sister will never be your wife-yoi” Marco said with a fake innocent smile that only served to hide his anger.
Ace raised both of his fiery hands, gritting his teeth.
"I don't give a damn if you're a Celestial Dragon. If you want her you'll have to face me and all of Whitebeard's crew first. Do you really want to go against one of the four emperors?"
The noble looked from Ace to the others and finally to you. Until after a few seconds, you saw him put his gun away in an annoyed manner.
"I... I swear you'll pay for this, brat!" he shouted and then turned on his heel and left, followed by his bodyguards. "You won't get away with it! And when i get my revenge, i will take her away with me and she will be my slave forever!"
"What the hell did you say?!" Ace retorted, now angrier than before.
And he would have followed him to throw a nice flaming punch in his ugly face, if it hadn't been for you who had glued yourself to his body, stopping him in his tracks.
"Ace stop! It's not worth it!"
Marco placed a hand on his shoulder to calm him.
“Y/n is right, it's already a miracle that he's left. Let's forget about it and get what we came for. The sooner we leave too, the better”
Ace finally calmed down and let out a sigh as you turned to look at the four men.
"Guys, do you think... Do you think he was telling the truth? Do you think he'll really come back?" you murmured. "I mean, i don't want you and Pops to have to deal with the Navy because of me"
"Hey, you don't really think this is your fault, do you little lady?" Thatch asked, reaching out to ruffle your hair, making you smile.
"How do you think Pops will react when we tell him what just happened-yoi?" Marco asked with a chuckle.
"Darling, even if that old man really came back with an Admiral, you can be sure that we will not hesitate to face him. We are your brothers and we would do anything for you" Izo continued with a sweet smile which you returned.
Ace put both his hands on your cheeks, making you turn towards him.
"And i'do anything for you. Don't you ever forget that, okay?" he said and when you nodded and he gave you a kiss on the nose.
You all started walking again and Ace came next to you.
“Well, the only thing i can agree with that guy is that he saw clearly” he said then, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you against his body. "And that is that my Y/n is beautiful. Even more than Izo"
Thatch made a small face in disgust and Izo rolled his eyes. You laughed, leaning in to leave a small kiss on Ace's freckled cheek and he leaned his face down to leave a small kiss on your head.
SABO
You were alone with Sabo, as you were walking along the street, wanting for once to go for a walk just the two of you, away from the work and missions that Dragon gave you.
"Hey Sabo?" You called out to him, lifting your head from his arm that was wrapped around yours.
"Mh?"
"Can we go to the library afterwards? I'd like to buy a new book. I've read all the ones you lent me by now"
Sabo nodded without hesitation.
"Of course darling, whatever you want. It's been a while since we had our usual dates at the library, don't you think?" he replied with a smile and you nodded.
"You're right. But today we can make up for some time together"
“I don't want anything else” he murmured, leaning in to leave a small, sweet kiss on your lips.
Before you and him could head towards the library, your attention was caught by some people running away and others even running to hide inside their houses.
Sabo reached out to a man who was about to pass by you, grabbing his arm.
"Hey what's going on?"
The man pointed in the direction from which the people were moving away.
"A-A World Noble is here on the island! A Celestial Dragon!" he responded hastily and then freed himself from his grip and walked away.
You and Sabo exchanged a look and unlike the people who were running away, you headed towards where the Celestial Dragon apparently was. It seemed like you couldn't enjoy a bit of rest today either.
You and Sabo remained hidden behind the wall of a building, observing the situation. And unfortunately the man from before had told the truth. A Celestial Dragon was sitting on the back of a poor man who was crawling along the street, carrying him. All the people who remained on the scene had knelt on the ground.
"Faster! You're slow!" exclaimed the noble, hitting the slave on his back.
You clutched your hands to your chest.
“Oh, poor thing…” you murmured, turning your head to look at Sabo. "Sabo, we have to do something"
Sabo placed his gloved hands on your arms sympathetically.
“You know we can't do anything Y/n” he said with a sigh. "Believe me, i'd help him. But we can't"
Suddenly, the man fell to the ground, tired and exhausted, and the Celestial Dragon fell with him. His bodyguards helped him up, but he let out an annoyed sound.
"Who told you to stop?! You stupid slave!" he exclaimed, turning to the man, who however remained on the ground panting in pain.
The noble got even more angry and started kicking him.
"Get up! Get up now!"
Your eyes widened, unable to look away from the cruel sight and Sabo tightened his hands on your arms, feeling even more anger rising in his body as he couldn't do anything to stop a being as despicable as him.
The Celestial Dragon stopped kicking him, only to pull out a gun and point it at him.
"Since you can't move anymore, then you're no longer of use to me" he said, loading the weapon.
Without you even realizing it, your feet moved on their own, while behind you you heard Sabo's voice shouting.
“Y/n no!”
The Celestial Dragon froze when he saw your body sling over the man's to protect him, while the people around you made sounds of amazement.
"Leave him alone!" you exclaimed angrily, looking at the man. "It's only your fault that he's like this! But i won't let you kill him in front of my eyes!"
He looked at you with wide eyes, while you continued to look at him with anger and determination.
“You…” he murmured and you noticed his gun slowly lowering. "You're perfect"
You looked at him slightly confused until he continued.
“You will be my wife” he then said with a creepy smile and your eyes widened. "I have decided. You will live with me, prepare me food, wash my clothes and bathe me"
The Celestial Dragon turned to one of his bodyguards.
"Escort her to my ship" he ordered and the other nodded.
"Yes sir"
When the bodyguard stretched out his arm towards you, you prepared yourself to attack him, but...
"Get away from her!"
Everyone, including the Celestial Dragon, let out cries of shock when they saw someone lunge at the bodyguard and kick him away from you with a kick to the face. Next the figure of Sabo appeared in front of you. From your position you couldn't see him, but you could imagine the murderous look with which he was staring into the eyes of the Celestial Dragon.
"If you touch her, i swear i'll kill you" he said, clenching his fists.
The noble gritted his teeth, starting to load his pistol.
"H-How dare you threaten me?! I am a Celestial Dragon!"
At the exact moment he tried to shoot, his gun was knocked out of his hand by the metal pipe Sabo had used to fight since he was little. And then with another blow, Sabo knocked him to the ground.
He looked at his unconscious body from above, fixing his gloves.
"I couldn't care less. You don't take other people's women and i won't let you have mine"
The people around you looked at him with wide eyes not believing they had just witnessed such a scene.
“Sabo…” you murmured in surprise.
He let out a small sigh and then turned to you, kneeling next to you.
“Is there anyone who can take care of him??” he asked aloud, looking at the inhabitants of the island and you understood that he was referring to the almost dying man under your hands. "Quickly! I don't know how much longer he'll hold out!"
Fortunately, two men took courage and stepped forward to carry him to the hospital. Sabo took your hand and after you both stood up, he started walking away quickly, dragging you with him.
"We have to leave, if we stay here we'll get in trouble"
You looked down, feeling guilty.
"I'm sorry Sabo. I didn't want to ruin our day. But i couldn't stand by and watch, it was stronger than me"
Sabo stopped and turned to look at you, but when he saw you with your eyes glued to the ground, he let out another sigh. He placed his hand on your cheek and lifted your face so you could look into his eyes and you saw him smile.
“And that's the reason why i fell in love with you” he said softly, stroking your cheek with his thumb. "You did the right thing, i'm proud of you"
You smiled back when you heard his words, relieved that he wasn't actually mad at you. He was just worried, but he had every right to be.
Sabo leaned his face in to press a kiss to your forehead and you closed your eyes, tightening your hand around his wrist.
"No one will take you away from me. No one"
DpxDc AU: Tim as a child was never given a lot of information regarding the scribbling messy handwriting that appeared over night all over his arms- naturally he came to his own conclusions.
Tim Drake was home entirely alone at 9 years old and was about to go out for the night to test his brand new long exposure camera lens when he sees the writing on his arm. It’s not English, like he assumed it was at first, but it was using the alphabet to represent… Tim isn’t bad at math but this formula is complex for his little genius brain.
Looking at his camera, he decides he can spare a moment to look it up, solve it, and get back out into old town Gotham in time for Batman and Robin’s final patrol lap. He does just that, finding the problem to relate to some aerospace engineering and then quickly deduces what laws and theorems need to be applied. He finds a pen, writes down his findings in much neater handwriting onto his arm, and goes out. It’s barely a remarkable night at all. He gets a much more memorable photo of Robin roundhouse kicking a hench person.
Things just continued on that way. Tim would find some complex math, physics or chemistry prompt on his arm (surrounded by various question marks or notes or sad faces)- he’d answer it as best he could and move on with his life. Perhaps his parents were manifesting these pop quizzes? Perhaps his subconscious felt guilty about abandoning his studies for more Bat related pursuits? Tim really didn’t care to think much about it once he became Robin- there was too much on his plate and too many peoples problems for him to fix.
Notably, however, after the attack at the Tower, the pop quiz appeared and Tim wrote back that he wouldn’t be able to find an answer to this one. It was the only time Tim questioned the markings appearance and it was because the next thing that appeared was “Hope you feel better soon.”
… his parents wouldn’t include that on a pop quiz. Cursed then. Tim decided it must be a curse, whatever, he’d deal with the implications later in life.
Tim then has the worst year of his life, hes 15, no longer Robin and the questions from his curse are getting less math oriented and more… philosophical. A lot of mentions of death that, in hindsight helped him actually grieve, and a lot of theories about dark matter and souls. Tim answers back as best he can but he’s drained and his answers aren’t very good in his opinion. He gets minimal feedback.
It all comes to a point that he’s at a family dinner, Bruce is at the head of the table, Jason has promised just to stay for dessert, Damian hasn’t thrown a single insult his way and Steph was laughing at him- when a new theoretical model appears on his arm.
“You’re just as bad as Bruce, Timberly. Hiding a soulmate from all of us, how fucking typical.” Jason points out, while watching Tim scribble back some math with a question mark onto his arm.
“A what? No, this is just a curse. I get pop quizzes every now and then.” Tim bats away Steph who rapidly approaches and began to analyze his arm (the rest of the family isn’t far behind).
“Drake. Explain how you came to this conclusion.” Damian seems more curious than anything, if his lack of insults was anything to go off of.
“Since I was young I’ve had at least weekly math check ins, I never had a parent or anyone else around so I assumed my parents had me cursed to ensure I stayed on top of my studies. Sometimes it’s physics or chemistry, for a while there it was a ton of philosophy and behavioral psychology.” He shrugs his shoulders.
“Master Tim, I believe the lack of adults in your life has led you towards a false conclusion. That is most certainly a soulmate mark. The individual to whom you are responding is undoubtedly your other half.” Alfred attempts to calm the room before explaining to Tim. Tim isnt sure if he believes the butler, though Alfred only very rarely lied, so he grabs the pen once more. He writes his first question back: “Who am I to you?”
The room waits in anticipation and within moments a brand new line appears on Tim’s arm and he is vindicated: “We do math together???”
——
The reason Danny is failing English is because his built in homework helper sucks ass at metaphors and has apparently never read any classic literature. The tutor on his arm is great at puzzles and math tho.
Danny gets a reply back one night that he wasn’t expecting (Who am I to you?) and he mentions it to Jazz. Who goes insane that Danny didn’t even question it and just went with “meh, probably haunted” as his explanation for the phenomenon for all these years.
Apparently, if Jazz was right, he had a soulmate who was uh, super fucking smart. That was an overwhelming thought.
The next day Danny is in crisis mode and writes back “Wait, WHAT AM I TO YOU??? Can I help on your homework??”
Danny gets vindicated when the writing on his arm presents a shit ton of dates and information for an unsolved Gotham cold case. See, Haunted.
———
Eventually between Danny becoming the top candidate for astrophysics at Wayne Enterprises and Tim Drake being outed as having contributed tips to the GCPD that solved cold cases- they meet and realize just how dumb they’ve been.
Hello! Can i request some Yandere robin/Kafka and Himeko (seperate) x Gn reader, romantic hcs, please?
𝐒𝐡𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐲
Yandere! Robin/Kafka/Himeko x Gn! Reader
❏ You weren't staying away from them because you were 'shy', you have a perfectly good reason to.
cw: ooc, general yandere content.
w/c: 1,557
You were happy with what you have, you were happy with the many people around you, but you liked Robin too.
She was irreplaceable, along with all of the people you love. You cared about everyone.
Robin liked you too! She liked the way you told her not to push herself much and to not pressure herself, the way you were all worried and caring for Robin.
She relishes on your affection for her greatly, no matter how small or big it is, Robin would indulge in your attention.
Even if you give her the smallest affection, then the largest to somebody else, she's... she's... She's fine by it. Totally.
But later, you were suddenly down, refusing to pay attention to her, or anything for the matter, even yourself.
Thus... Robin thinks you need saving.
No, no, why won't you smile like you used to? Did something so bad happen?
Robin is appalled by the way you just won't help yourself or push yourself for the better and move on? Isn't that what you told her to do? Why are you opting to be a flesh rotting in your bed and not getting out of your shell?
She had problems too, she too were hard on herself when her mom died, but she used those experiences to get up and push further, why can't you do the same?
She thought that maybe it was her turn to give her full affection and attention to you instead. In a way to pay you back, yet... You won't allow her.
Robin is just concerned. Why won't you let her pamper you?
Why won't you let her sing songs to you?
Why won't you let her visit you?
How could you even refuse such an angel who's willing to drag you up when you're down?
Maybe you're shy. Perhaps she's way too overbearing for your mental capacity to accept her payback. She's sweet, empathetic, and extremely kind to you, especially you.
Why else would you avoid her other than the reason that you're flustered by her appearance? It's because of that, and that's the only reason.
"Oh... My love... Is there any other reason why you're avoiding me other than you think I'll over shine you? Don't worry, I won't do that. You deserve your own spotlight! I'll look at it, only me... I love you, alright?"
She says, clinging on your waist, holding it down enough for you to be thoroughly uncomfortable inside. She would then brush your hair with her hand as if you were a delicate being she needed to protect from danger.
Even after you have tried to escape her countless times, she still has you in her arms, begging for your attention every second, every minute, every hour. It's scary to know that with the snap of her fingers, all of her devoted fans would turn their heads at you, ready to strike with their pitch forks and torches for not accepting such an angel in your life.
Though... Has she ever stopped and thought that maybe, just maybe, the reason for you avoiding her was because you just figured out that she's the reason that the people you've recently been talking to disappear out of thin air? Even the ones you treasured and cared for?
You didn't find any animal fact that said birds are ruthless when they are jealous. You learned it the hard way.
Robin didn't even give you enough time to grieve for them before clinging on to you now that her 'obstacles' are gone.
She hums a melody. It's as if to comfort you from your loss, it feels mocking.
You found a lady so breathtakingly beautiful it captured your full attention.
You then would ask for her number, maybe start a small chat, heck, even standing next to such beauty would be enough.
If you found Kafka beautiful, then she finds you adorable.
She's curious as to why you would willingly march straight into danger, clueless and unarmed. She might as well give it a shot and try to get to know you better.
This isn't a part of the script. Plus, she finds your face and mentality cute. Is there really no way you don't know anything about her?
Perhaps you don't read the news or you haven't seen her wanted posters in all its glory. Perhaps you knew and are just dipping your hand in with hidden intent. Perhaps you're just dumb. Either way, she'll know soon enough.
Rather than subtly forcing you to outright say who you are, Kafka played the slow—yet fun—game.
You went from conversing, to going on dates, to walking together in the sunset.
And not once has she seen you feel threatened around her, or even show a hint of your plans to capture her. Every last bit of you was adorable as she thought. That surprises her for a bit. However, not for long.
"This gift is handmade, my efforts and results. Accept it, dear." People's fun has to end one way or another
Her voice makes your ears ring, it gives you a headache. As much you want to cover your ears and muffle her sickly sweet voice, you can't. Your hand is trembling. It is too heavy to move, and you already feel bile rising up on your throat.
It was going well. Now you're asking yourself why we're you sitting on the ground, bathing in a puddle of blood.
Huh...? She told you in one of your dates she was going to gift you a big surprise, you weren't expecting a surprise that makes you fall on your knees at the sight in a different way.
Why... Why is this happening?
You get up on your feet and run away as fast as you can, just anyhow to get away from her.
"Don't try to back out now... You're hurting my feelings." Her footsteps were slow, loud, impending.
Tap, tap, tap, tap—
"You wanted to get to know me too, didn't you? Are you not liking what you see? Are you not liking the real me?" She tries to convince you.
Tap, tap, tap—
"Come on, don't be shy, I don't bite, I promise, come out now. You can't hide forever, can you?" She hums, as if to harmonize it with her footsteps.
Tap.
"Found you."
Don't just walk straight into the cobwebs and try to leave so quickly, for the more you struggle to escape, the more you get tangled and stuck in it.
Himeko wanted you join her, to board the Astral Express, telling you all sorts of stuffs about how amazing it would be to travel all across the cosmos.
You were there to support her from the start, she wished the same for the end.
You admired her ambitions and pushed her up to reach it. Himeko wanted you to be with her when she does so.
Himeko loved you dearly, the way you would encourage her on her adventures, the way you'd still swallow the last drop of coffee she made for you even though it's hard to swallow, the way you would hold her hand and tell directly that things will go the way she would want it.
She loved the way you can easily melt her heart with those genuine words and touch.
But when you declined and said that you will only be there to watch her fulfill her dreams. It was difficult to take in, but she wasn't able to press further.
And so she conducts the train without you. Only occasionally visiting your home world, then to leave, for there's more other pressing matters.
But the more she embarks, the more she learns and develop her own mindset.
For Himeko, trailblazing follows an unspoken set of steps to commit. Board the train, build immovable and precious memories, then disembark.
In other words, leave. It's difficult, but Himeko's determination perseveres, no matter how many of her short time companions leave her, she will still traverse the stars.
Himeko is the conductor, the train needs her to move.
But she needs you to move. Right now, she needs to hear your voice, your way of lightening up her day with little to no effort. So things will be alright with her. No matter how lonely it gets, no matter how much difficult it is to preserve these memories, she can still retell those adventures with you.
"Isn't that right? [Name]?" She puts her cup of coffee, gazing at the coffee table, then takes a moment to admire the scenery of the window, showing the stars of the universe at full display along with the planet close enough to visualize, then you.
The couch you were sitting on were the same as where Himeko sits. You felt compelled to move away from her, yet she will only move closer. "Don't be shy, it's just the two of us here. The others are away." She gestures at the window. "If you're worried about PomPom, they're in a different room."
She holds your hand tightly, things will go the way she would want it, not the way you would want.
"Please don't leave me. You wouldn't wanna make me lonely, would you?" She holds your hand closer to her face.
Declining isn't an option anymore.
We Hug, We Never Used To Do That
Damian makes a mistake and chooses Jason’s apartment to hide out in. He has no idea about the date.
In honour of it being Jason’s death anniversary the other day have this fic i’ve been working on for a year.
please heed the trigger warnings
panic attacks
dissociation
description of violence and death but none in the actual fic
blood ig
also thank you @heavenssolitude for beta reading this for months 🥰
————
Jason doesn‘t really expect the baby bat to break into his apartment at 2 a.m., but here they are.
The kid is still dressed in his Robin costume.
“Todd I… I didn’t think you would be here,” he says softly. Jason crosses his arms.
“This is my apartment. I should be asking you what you’re doing here.”
“You are usually at one of your safe houses.” Damian is wringing his hands, drawing Jason’s attention to the dark stains clinging to the green gloves. He eyes them suspiciously.
“Okay, and? Answer the question.” Jason isn’t one to feel nervous, but neither is Damian.
“I cannot go back to the manor tonight.” The kid says it like he’s admitting to a horrible secret. The hand wringing has turned into a scrubbing motion. Jason takes the silence between them as a chance to study Damian. He’s drenched from the rain and hunched in on himself, giving him the complexion of a stray kitten. The hood of his cape is blocking out his face and Jason notices more red stains around the costume.
Now listen, Jason may be more in the ass-kicking industry than the detective one, but it didn’t take much of his Bat-training to figure out what has happened. He takes a deep breath, staring up at the ceiling as if begging a god he doesn’t believe in that this isn’t happening.
He really hates doing the whole big brother thing. Especially on today of all days.
Jason decides to take pity on the kid. He makes a beckoning gesture, and leads him into the bathroom, where he grabs a shirt and a pair of shorts with a drawstring.
“Wash up. Then we’ll talk about why you’ve run away.” Jason says and points at the shower. He closes the door behind him and heads to the kitchen to make them both something to eat.
A few minutes later he gets a call. It’s from Bruce. If Damian coming here thinking Jason wouldn’t be home tells him anything, it means he wants to be left alone.
“Hey B, how’s old age treating—“ “Jason, have you seen Damian?” He sounds stressed.
“Nope.” Jason says, popping the p, and then pokes his head into the bedroom to make sure Damian is alright. “I don’t know where he is. You oughta get a backpack leash or something.” At this point he’s basically a professional at lying to the Bat.
“Why? What did you do?” He hears Bruce sigh.
“I didn’t do anything. You always assume I’m the problem.” Jason rolls his eyes.
“Okay, well if you didn’t do anything, what did he do?” He hears Bruce sigh again. This one sounds more tired, but not the kind of tired you can just sleep off.
“I...I don’t even know what happened if I’m honest. Someone was killed tonight.”
Jason sucks in a breath. Dang it, he was right. “A criminal, one of Crane’s. But still, he’s dead. The only proof I even have of Damian being there is his sword, but we can’t find him.” For all his credit, Bruce does sound really worried. Whether it’s because his son is missing or because his son just killed a man, he’s not too sure.
“Yeah, whatever, B, I don’t know where he is.” He lies again. If Damian doesn’t want anyone to know where he is, then that’s his business.
He hangs up the call and goes back to making food. It’s nothing special, just grilled cheese, but that’s mostly because Jason hasn’t gone grocery shopping yet. He hasn’t had the energy to.
“Who were you talking to?”
He almost jumps when Damian speaks. He turns to see him and slightly softens at the kid he’s met with. Damian is wearing his obscenely large clothes, his hair is wet and down. He actually looks like a normal kid. You would never look at this Damian and suspect he killed a man today.
Jason plates the grilled cheese.
“Your dad.” Upon seeing the look of terror that flashes over the kid’s face, he adds, “I didn’t tell him where you were, but he did seem worried.” Damian fiddles with the towel and looks down at his feet. Jason takes it from him, hands him a plate and leads him to the couch.
They eat in silence until the food is all gone. Damian still hasn’t said a word about what has happened, but Jason has a feeling he knows what’s going on inside his head.
“B isn’t gonna throw you out, ya know.”
The kid's head shoots up to look at him. His green eyes are wide.
“He told me what happened, or at least what it looks like happened. He sounded worried, not mad.”
Damian huffs. “That is because he doesn’t know what has happened yet. He will be disappointed and send me back to the League when he finds out.” He says it with such a serious tone, like he was stating a fact.
“What happened, Damian?” The latter looks away from him, curling up into himself in a way Jason has never seen him do.
“It was an accident. There were so many of them. I used my sword just to get some of them to back away. I made a mistake in my counting.” Damian looks up at him with the most honest eyes. “He took me off guard and I acted instinctively. I couldn’t even try to save him. It was truly an accident. Just an unforgivable one.” He looks back down at his hands as if the blood is still there. “Father will—“
Jason cannot stand the wobbles in the kid’s voice.
“Bruce isn’t sending you away. It was an accident.” He reaches out for Damian’s shoulder, but he shrugs him off.
“He will keep me until he finds out it’s my instinct to kill.” He says darkly. Jason huffs out a laugh.
“Kid, if Bruce doesn’t already know that, then he needs to step down from the title of the World's Greatest Detective. You were raised by assassins for the first ten years of your life. Of course killing is instinctual.” Damian still looks unconvinced. Jason pulls him in against his chest. “And even if he tried to send you away, which he won’t, there’s no way Dick or anyone is gonna let him. That, I can promise.”
Damian finally relaxes in his hold and reciprocates the hug.
It’s about an hour later when they’re both disturbed by Jason’s phone blaring. He slides an arm out from around Damian and picks it up.
“Hey, Dickface.”
“Jay?” He sounds wrecked. “Jay, if Dames is with you, I need to know.” His voice wobbles and cuts off like he’s trying to stifle a sob. Jason sits up, causing Damian to slide off him. The younger one gives him a strange look.
“Thought you were supposed to be in ‘haven tonight.” Jason doesn’t know what to say. Dick sounds terrible, like he’s been crying for hours. Damian pulls on his arm and signs ’speaker’? Jason doesn’t reply verbally, but not a second later Dick’s voice is audible.
“I—I was but B called me and said he couldn’t find Damian and—Oh god, it’s been an hour.” His voice turns into a whine and he again covers his mouth. “I need to know if he’s okay, Jay. I keep imagining him stuck somewhere cold and scared and I can’t—I can’t. I promise I—I won’t tell Bruce, just please—please Jason I need to know.” Their big brother is begging on the other side of the phone. Jason turns to look at the younger one and the kid looks devastated.
“I’m here Richard.” He says softly. A gasp and a sob come through the phone.
“Oh thank god.” There’s a thud and a slide sound, and Jason can only imagine it’s Dick sliding down a wall to sit on the floor.
“Okay—Okay. Are you hurt?” Dick asks, his voice still breathless and wobbly.
“I am uninjured.” Damian waits a beat. “Are you well, Richard?” Dick lets out a slightly hysterical laugh.
“I think I've had about three breakdowns since Bruce called me. I wasn’t really having a great day to begin with.” He chuckles sadly. “Not that it’s your fault, Damian, I’m sure you had a good reason to run. Don’t feel guilty for my reaction, it’s just been a crazy week.” He’s getting quieter as he speaks. Jason and Damian share a look.
“Okay, two things, Blue, one, you should’ve called me sooner. Don’t call me after you’ve had three breakdowns. And two, where are you right now?” If his brother is having a post-panic attack induced adrenaline crash, he’d like to know he’s not in some alleyway somewhere.
“M’ at one of your safe houses. Was looking for Dames. It’s the one above the bodega.” He’s slurring in a way only a person who’s about to pass out can. Jason gets up and grabs his keys.
“Okay, I'm coming to get you.” He’s almost out the door when he turns to Damian.
“Don’t open the door for anyone. There’s a gun under the couch and a kitchen full of knives if you need them.” And then he leaves before Damian can even get a word in.
He isn’t quite sure what to do while Todd is gone, so he looks around the apartment. It is a small one-bedroom. The kitchen, living, and dining are all one space, all carpeted except for the slightly yellow-stained tiles in the kitchen. He brings their plates to the sink and begins to wash them when he hears a noise. A click sound and then a slide.
Damian backs further into the kitchen. Someone has just opened one of the windows in the living room. He opens the drawer with the knives, pulls one out and holds it close to his chest.
“Jason, you asshole! Where are you?!”
Damian knows that voice anywhere.
“I know this is your apartment, so come out! Damian is missing, and I've lost contact with Dick.” Drake says. Damian hears him open the bedroom door and walk around before coming back out. He sighs and sits on the couch.
“God, what is happening? Three out of three brothers are missing. Why can’t I find them?” The last words are muffled as Drake covers his face with his hands. Damian peaks out of the kitchen to look at his brother, who is curling up on himself.
Damian had no idea that people would be this worried. Yes, he suspected Grayson would be worried, because when is Grayson not worried?
But Drake? He’d never suspect Drake would go out of his way to recruit Todd into finding him. He begins to feel a bit guilty.
“Todd is collecting Grayson from one of the safe houses.” Damian starts as he steps out of the kitchen. Tim shoots up from his spot on the couch.
“Grayson had a panic attack while searching, so Todd went to get him.” Damian doesn’t even get a warning before he’s suddenly being swallowed up by Drake’s arms.
“Oh god Damian, I’m so glad you’re alright.” He speaks quietly, as if Damian would disappear again if he spoke too loud. The younger one hesitantly wraps his arms around Tim’s body. He cannot remember the last time they hugged like this, or if they ever have.
Damian can feel Tim trembling and the guilt he’s feeling doubles. “I am sorry, I never meant to cause such distress in you or in Grayson.” He says quietly. Tim releases the hug and rubs the back of his neck, a nervous tick.
“It’s okay, not ideal but I think we all get a bit jumpy in April.” He laughs nervously.
Damian makes a face and looks at Tim. “April? What happened in April?”
Before Tim can reply, a voice from behind him answers.
“I died in April,” Jason says from where he’s standing in the doorway. He’s carrying Dick on his back. “That's why Big Bird here lost his shit. Well, that and his terrible luck with good places of employment,” he adds thoughtfully. Jason throws his keys onto the bench and carries Dick to the bedroom.
Almost in a trance, Damian walks towards the small electronic clock on the wall. He sees the date.
As of two hours ago, it was April 27th.
Damian feels a little sick. Not only had he forgotten his brother’s death anniversary, but he had made everyone re-live a part of it.
Not even two days ago now, there had been an Arkham escape. One of the escapees was The Joker and he was yet to be found. Damian feels terrible for reminding his family of such a time.
A time when Father lost a son and would blame himself.
A time when Grayson lost a brother he had only just come to know.
A time when Pennyworth lost a grandson and his only cooking partner.
A time when Drake would step up not only for Gotham, but for Father as well.
And a time when Todd lost his life.
He has to wonder if The Joker is laughing right now.
He stands there staring at the clock, breathing heavily until a hand claps his shoulder.
“Don’t worry too much about it, Baby Bat.” Jason smiles at him. It’s a tired, weary smile. God, how terrible it must be to be reminded of your own death.
“Where is your phone?” He still feels as though he can’t breathe.
Jason looks at him weirdly. “Why?”
“I must call Father. I have to let him know I am well!” He says frantically and reaches out for Jason’s pockets. He feels so selfish. Jason’s right, Father would not send him back to the league for a mistake. He needs to contact him right away.
“Okay, okay! Here!” Jason pushes away Damian’s panicky hands and hands him the unlocked phone. He takes it and, without thinking, fumbles his way onto the fire escape before pressing call.
“Jason have you—“ “I'm safe, Father.” He doesn’t let Bruce get a word in. “I’m sorry for worrying you, I've been at Todd’s apartment the whole time. But do not get upset with him. I was the one who didn’t want him to tell you. I now know just how selfish that was especially with the date…”
There’s a moment of silence. “You’re at Jason’s apartment?”
“Y—yes?”
“I’ll be there in five minutes.”
Damian doesn’t get a chance to answer. He stands there, clutching Jason’s phone.
Was… was Father mad? Did he sound mad? He can’t remember.
Damian feels like he might be sick. There is a possibility that Jason could have been wrong and that Father might still send him back to the league. Maybe he had jumped the gun calling him like that. He pulls the phone closer to his chest and begins to rock on his feet.
Toe. Heel. Toe. Heel. ToeHeel. Toeheeltoeheeltoe—
“Damian? Did you call Bruce?” Jason pokes his head outside, interrupting Damian’s spiral.
“Yes. He will be here soon.” He replies numbly. He’s not sure if the numbness is better than the nausea.
“Here? Aw, shit.”
“Sorry.” He’s not sure he feels sorry, actually he’s not sure he’s feeling anything right now. If anything, he feels like he’s floating.
Damian thinks Jason says something, but he misses it and is only met with Jason holding his hand out. Damian goes to hand him his phone, but that isn’t what Jason wants, as he just rolls his eyes and grabs Damian’s arm.
“C’mon, Bluebird is up and he wants to see you.” Jason drags the kid by the arm back through the door. He pushes Damian in Dick’s direction and walks past them into the kitchen. Jason watches them from his place, leaning against a counter.
Dick immediately scoops Damian up in his arms, hugging him tightly. They’re whispering to each other, but Jason can’t hear it. All he can do is think about how he can’t remember if Dick ever treated him like that before he died.
Dick pushes Damian’s hair away from his forehead and places a kiss there. It only causes the jealousy swirling in Jason’s chest to expand. He wraps his arms around himself, trying to imagine what it would have felt like.
He tries not to let the jealousy show, he looks down at his feet. Damian needs that comfort—deserves it, even, and Jason is glad he has someone like Dick to give it to him. But, damn, if he doesn’t yearn for that type of affection. He yearned for it when he was Damian’s age and he yearns for it even now and especially today.
Jason tries not to think about how much he wants it. He tries not to think about it when Bruce all but breaks down his front door. He tries not to think about it when Bruce doesn’t even acknowledge the three other people in the—in Jason’s apartment and heads straight towards Damian, scooping him into his arms.
He tries not to think about how much he yearns for affection like that with Bruce or anyone really. How if maybe he’d reunited with him differently, if—if he hadn’t been so angry maybe their relationship would be different now.
But it wasn’t and Jason had been angry—furious even. He ruined it. Ruined it. No one will ever love him like that. He deserves it, not the love he’ll never deserve that, he deserves the crushing pain and loneliness in his chest. He deserves the—
A pair of familiar boots step into his line of sight. Jason jolts and looks up. Bruce is now standing in front of him with a small smile.
What? Wasn’t he just talking to Damian?
Jason looks around the room to see that Damian, Dick, and Tim, are now outside on the fire escape. It’s just him and Bruce now.
“How are you, Jay?” There’s a softness to his voice that Jason hasn’t heard in a long time.
“I’m fine, old man.” He scoffs like he doesn’t know why Bruce is asking and tightens up his posture.
He must look pretty pathetic, a man as tall and big as he is, cowering against his kitchen counter.
“Well—“ Bruce begins and nervously moves his arms out wide. “You just look like you could use a hug.”
Jason’s heart stops and his breath hitches. Bruce looks so sincere and God, if this is a prank, he will never forgive him. He goes completely limp and lets Bruce—no, his Dad—catch him. Strong arms wrap around his body to keep him upright.
Bruce is warm and safe, and the feeling is incomparable to the half-side hug he got from Damian earlier.
As they both sink to the kitchen floor, Jason thinks maybe, just maybe, he deserves this.
it is only complex bc abuse is always done with purposeful intent. that is the textbook definition. who accidentally abuses someone? you don’t have to label his emotional incompetence as abuse. cause it’s not. that makes no sense… cause his character isn’t one dimensional. it’s literally just a character flaw, even if it hurts someone’s feelings. just like how jason is a hypocrite and dick practices escapism instead of dealing with his problems. majority of the times when he’s fighting another bat or bird, it’s either mutual or out of his control, so yeah ima give him grace by ignoring highly ooc comic runs. cause no one’s character is consistent, especially if you’re the freaking batman. idk, speaking generally when u literally get to build-a-bruce wayne is mainly just a skill issue, so maybe u just want him to be abusive?
Anon, abuse can absolutely be unintentional. You can unintentionally hurt people like that. Abusers don't always look at the people they abuse and think "I'm hurting and abusing them"- a lot of the time they really aren't aware they're being abusive and even think they're being helpful. I'm not saying some abusers go "whoopsie daisy!" And slip up like how you'd accidentally drop a vase. I'm saying the abuse Bruce puts the batkids through, especially Dick, is something he's doing not knowing he's being abusive or neglectful.
As an abuse victim, yes this is possible. My dad is abusive, but he isn't at all aware of it. Does he still love me to absolute bits? Of course. I don't doubt that he loves and cares for me. Is he still abusive? Absolutely. This is the case for Bruce.
His emotional incompetence is absolutely a character flaw, but how he goes about it with his kids is harmful. Take this example:
>Robin: Year One #3
This is just after Dick was nearly beaten to death by Two-Face. Bruce is genuinely afraid here, he's blaming himself for what happened to Dick and thinks that firing Dick will keep him safe. But he communicates absolutely none of this to Dick; he just yells at him, fires him, and then gives him the cold shoulder for months. Dick feels like such a failure that he runs away, thinking that Bruce doesn't want him around anymore. And i don't think this is ever really rectified or resolved. Dick becomes Robin again, but Bruce insists that he follow orders like a "good soldier".
And this incident still weighs heavy on Dick years later, thinking of it as his failure, especially since the whole situation was so traumatizing.
>Robin #0
And this is just one example of Bruce being emotionally incompetent and hurting Dick in the process. There's also the entirety of Batman #416, Batman #408, and NTT #55, all separate incidents where Bruce is unable to communicate and hurts Dick in the process. This is very present throughout their entire relationship, and there's far, far more examples of Bruce's emotional immaturity/incompetence being harmful, not just to Dick, but to the rest of the batkids as well (I believe it's one of the reasons Jason ran off to find his birth mother).
Bruce pretty much never communicates, not even to offer praise. This is something that frequently comes up and is even joked about (Dick being weirded out in Batman: Under the Red Hood when Bruce thanks him), but is a strong point of insecurity for the Robins. In fact, Dick wasn't even sure what Bruce really thought of him, if he thought about Dick at all (Gotham Knights #14). Jason also doesn't believe Bruce loves him, thanks to the sheer differences in communication styles and beliefs (which, honestly, the tragedy of that warrants it's own post), and I believe Damian has stated that, if it made Bruce happy, he'd stop existing (I'm not sure what comic it's from, so take this with a grain of salt). I'm not sure about Tim, honestly, since I haven't read his comics, but I wouldn't be surprised if the pattern continued with him too.
And ALL of this stems from Bruce being emotionally neglectful. A lot of issues in the batclan comes from this, honestly. Neglect is, by definition, abuse, even if it's just emotional neglect. This is often paired with Bruce miscommunicating if not outright being verbally abusive (such as yelling at Dick, as seen above), or even physically abusive (Nightwing #30, NTT #55, and at least half a dozen other instances with Dick alone).
Speaking of, I also don't believe Bruce being physically abusive is actually OOC, mostly because it's a trait that's been present since the Golden Ages, and Bruce is the one who decided beating up criminals was a good alternative to therapy. Bruce in general has a lot of anger issues, and is a pretty violent person. This is nothing new, and if you don't count the Golden Ages as canon, it's been at least present since the 80s. It's been consistent over a long period of time, and because of that, i really don't see Bruce being physically abusive as OOC, except for in certain cases (such as RHATO #25 and Gotham War, both incidents that I don't believe are in character when it comes to Bruce's opinions on Jason killing based on previous comics).
I don't really "want" Bruce to be abusive. I think it'd be better if he wasn't, but at this point, the batkids' characters hinge on him being abusive or at the very least neglectful, otherwise, aspects of their characters don't particularly make sense. Also, all of this is stuff I've picked up on as I slowly get through comics and read more meta posts. I'm not the kind of person who makes things up, and if I'm proven wrong about something, I typically reevaluate my thoughts, step back, and admit that I'm wrong. And so far, I really haven't seen any real evidence towards the "Bruce isn't abusive" column beyond people saying "these comics are out of character"- which is subjective.
Also, I only don't like it when people say that he's not abusive and then list things that are abusive. Mostly because it's genuinely dangerous.
Also also, I'm not saying Bruce is irredeemable or an awful person. He certainly isn't great, but he's absolutely capable of change and he loves his kids to death. There's almost nothing he wouldn't do for them (except kill, obviously, which is honestly something I agree with him on). I think he's stubborn and hot-headed, but once he actually sees the harm he's caused, I think he's fully willing to change, even if it's hard for him. Bruce is far from heartless. He cares a lot! He's just fucked up and has a ton of unresolved trauma that messed up his parenting. I really can't state how much I believe Bruce cares for and loves his family.
Anyways, at the end of the day, I believe Bruce is abusive. Abuse has a lot of nuance to it, and to a lot of people, abuse is always done intentionally and knowing that what they're doing causes harm. But this isn't always the case. Bruce is, imo, a really good depiction of an abuser who genuinely loves his kids and thinks he's doing right by them. And I honestly prefer his character this way; Bruce is WAY more interesting to me if he's fucked up like this.
Sorry this took a minute to answer, I have a lot of thoughts on this topic.
Hi🤗♡.
Can I request teen!fem Reader with the (strawhat pirates & kid pirates & heart pirates)( the older version of them please in there 40 or 60).
The Reader got hurt very badly and she was in coma for month.
But of course everything was fine when the Reader wakes up and everyone is happy♡.
P.s : take your time okay :) .
─Strawhats, Kid Pirates & Heart Pirates x teen!reader (platonic)
─Summary: A life-threatening attack hits you and everyone is worried about your condition
─Warnings: the characters are older, like in those 40/60 year old drawings (reference)
─ You are the little light of the group, being the youngest everyone was always watching you in battle, they had full faith in your abilities, but they would not stop being worried.
─ But you're not always in a completely accessible place, the others also have their own fights at the same time so the world seems to stop when the sound of your body hitting the ground catches Nami's attention. "Oh- No- no- my god, Chopper!"
─ Usopp, who was the one who had only been running and launching light attacks, was the first to approach your body, noticing a large pool of blood around you and a big blow on your head, he turned pale when he saw you.
─ He easily carried you in his arms and took you to a less dangerous place while Chopper rushed to finish off his own opponent, he was with you in just a couple of minutes, he could be older, but he won't stop losing his nerve when he has than treating a loved one, "A doctor! We need a doctor right away!" "You're the doctor?!" "Oh right!"
─ While the others finish as quickly as possible to know if you are okay, you are treated emergency, managing to stop the bleeding and stabilizing your vital signs.
─ The problem was that you spent one day sleeping, two, three… and it became the longest week for the entire crew.
─ Everyone was impatient and uneasy, they would not forgive themselves if something happened to you, they knew that you would wake up sooner or later, they would just wait for you.
─ Chopper checks on you daily, Sanji puts a glass of fresh water on the nightstand every day in case you wake up and no one is there at that moment, Luffy and Usopp will sit down to play any board game to keep you company, Zoro will take some occasional nap on the floor (chopper puts some pillows and blankets there because age doesn't forgive back pain), Nami and Robin will talk to you as if you were gossiping with them on a normal day, Brook will sing something at night so that in your sleep better, Jinbe and Franky stop by from time to time to see if you're awake.
─ Everyone's spirits fade when the second week passes with no indication that you will wake up and they think the worst, however they cling to the fact that your condition is stable, you are healthy and you are much younger than them.
─ A month later, Luffy had fallen asleep resting his hand on your shoulder, he didn't give you time to open your eyes and you already had your captain hugging you. "Hey, it's been a while, I don't even sleep that much after a good meal!"
─ You laughed confused because you obviously didn't know how long you had been out, and it didn't take long for the others to find out, you were surrounded in a big hug although Chopper scolded everyone because he still had to do one last check before letting you walk freely.
─ This team fights with everything it has and you were not going to be less, although much younger, you were much more energetic than that whole group of old men, as you affectionately nicknamed them since they sometimes called you kiddo or child.
─ The problem is that sometimes you were somewhat impulsive, and that's why you attacked too quickly. Kid smiled, seeing himself reflected in your recklessness, although he scolded you. "Don't get ahead, these guys aren't as weak as they seem."
─ You turned a deaf ear since you had advanced well in the attack, but in an instant everything had gone black for you, a fatal blow to the abdomen left you completely out of combat.
─ "Oh fuck, the kiddo is hurt, shit- like, really screwed up, needs medical attention right away!" Heat is the one closest to you and the one in charge of protecting you until the bloodbath ends, which they do more quickly.
─ Killer knows that you won't wake up today because when they sewed the wound you didn't wake up because of the pain, he knew that you were very complaining about pain of any kind despite being a teenager.
─ The tension grows as the days go by, uncertainty because you don't wake up to joke that you've knocked down more guys, they are mentally torturing themselves even though they don't let it be seen.
─ Wire will talk to you to tell you all the gossip you miss, Killer will stop by every morning before starting the day hoping to see that you are standing, Heat will sleep next to you some days and Kid will not visit as often because he is venting his discomfort in his workshop.
─ Kid has been in a worse mood the last few weeks because you were the person with the smallest hands and he needed your help with some screws that were too small, which delayed his project, he missed your annoying little presence making jokes about his old age .
─ Killer had full faith that you would wake up sooner or later because they had treated you on time, it just made him nervous not knowing when it would be, "I will make your favorite food if you wake up today…" he always said in the hope that the food would open your eyes.
─ A month later when everyone got used to the lack of a gremlin running from one place to another (they didn't get used to it, that's what they want to think), you woke up, there was no one there at that moment so you got rid of all the cables, feeling good.
─ "Hey child- holy shit! you're awake, hey- what are you doing up?! You need to get checked before you walk around again" "I'm fresh as a lettuce captain! I can't say the same for you… but uh-" "I'm glad to see you're okay." He put his only arm over your shoulder and squeezed you like in a wrestling hold, roughly rubbing your head.
─ They used you as an excuse to have a party, although you didn't care much because you also celebrated and ate your favorite food.
─ Law was going to kill Shachi and Penguin because you got hurt on a mission with them, you took several hits, which exhausted you, and what you thought would be a nap back on the submarine ended up being something worse.
─ They tried to keep you awake while they used what Law had taught them about minimal care, but you couldn't continue.
─ They didn't even set foot in the submarine and you were already in a bed in the infirmary, the smell of blood gave away your condition, "I want a report on what happened and the area of the body that was most beaten, we will talk about your punishment later", both swallowed, knowing that their captain did not like to see his comrades injured but above all, to see someone with so much life ahead of them injured.
─ You are treated immediately and quickly, Law knows that you will not wake up for at least a week due to the blows and your condition, but you would get out of this, that does not prevent him from feeling an emptiness in the pit of his stomach.
─ Bepo will be in your room most of the time, reading out loud so that according to him, you wouldn't get bored in your dreams, Shachi and Penguin got some free time (because they were forced to clean the entire submarine until it shined) to apologize to you.
─ Ikakku stopped by from time to time to check your vital signs and tell you some things that had been happening.
─ Even though they knew you would wake up, not knowing when the moment would be made the entire crew impatient, although Law detected some changes in your condition after a month, he knew when you would finally open your eyes, which reassured him.
─ "What the hell…?" You mumbled when you woke up seeing that your arms and legs were tied, "I'm glad to see you awake" "How are you glad if I'm tied to a bed? Oh don't tell me, have you finally lost your mind and going to dissect me?" He sighed "Security, I knew you were going to get up as soon as you woke up and I want to do one last check" "Sure…"
─ Everyone found out later because you started screaming as if you were being tortured just because had to supply something with a syringe, at least you prolonged your hug with Bepo because of that.
─ Shachi and Penguin apologized to you again, but you downplayed it, right now what mattered most to you was having a good meal, you were hungry and Ikkaku had the solution to all your problems.
Sanji x reader
Some thoughts on Sanji.
Sanji x femreader
_________________________________________
What happens when a simp meets another simp.
Sanji's advances toward women were never really taken seriously or even paid attention to.
He mostly cooked and waited tables at the Baratie, occasionally kicking ass if needed to. One thing he wasn't expecting was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen – you– enter through the doors along with a green-haired man and another gorgeous orange-haired woman.
"Hello ladies, what would you like to order?"When he had smoothly delivered a pickup line to both you and Nami– much to Zoro's annoyance at not getting proper service– he expected the usual his advance ignored.
"Well, I'd order you but you aren't on the menu." You threw back. It wasn't intentional. You weren't that much of a flirt, only used to doing or saying something to challenge or fluster others occasionally.
When the waiter in front of you seemed to have frozen on the spot and then smirked you were left with two words on your mind 'oh shit'.
Fast forward to the same man being in your crew, serving you guys the most delectable meals and kicking ass you were ready to give up on having a peaceful life.
Though he sent all his simpery to Robin and Nami he left you out of the loop. At first you didn't mind but overtime you questioned his actions. Wondering if he didn't try to flirt with you because of the first time you met or maybe he didn't think you were beautiful. Then you looked in the mirror and realised it must have been some other reason cause you knew you were drop dead gorgeous.
You weren't being vain, you knew you were pretty because you were told so by Apis when the crew helped her with Grandpa Ryu. Kids never lie about such matters.
Unbeknownst to you, Sanji didn't treat you the same because he knew that he wouldn't be able to save himself from loving you and confessing.
Your eyes, your voice, the grace in which you would do things. Even when you were being a menace to society. All of those he loved. You'd think he couldn't simp enough till he saw you not look glamorous and just chose to where baggy clothes. Not gonna lie he'd think you were gorgeous in a chicken costume, you never know with this man
As much as he was too shy to approach you he wasn't afraid yelling at Zoro to stop being so close to you.
You were close friends with Zoro. It couldn't be helped if you were the weapons expert, always checking if cannons were clear, swords were sharp and helping with new inventions with Franky.
So instead of noodle dancing around you he did the little things. Checking everything that he cooks didn't have anything you were allergic to. Always making sure you had a little lunch bag whenever everyone left to explore the island. Giving you extra cupcakes or other baked goods of you ever want more.
If you're a picky eater, he'd make sure to make your food according to your taste. Leaving multiple options on the dinner table for your palate.
He also made sure not to be away from your side too long. Wherever you turn you'd find a swirly-browed cook casually wrapping an arm round you to stave off any threats.
When you get sick he'd be calling in Chopper for any problem you would even slightly complain about. He'd be beside you 24/7 like you were dying or something. Which is kinda sweet but he was needed in the kitchen.
Overtime it just became normal for all this to happen. You got used to it. In fact I think y'all would be the kinda couple that just happened but then later confessed your undying love for each other.
To top it off, you were his number one supporter. Everytime you caught a glimpse of him fighting you'd cheer like you saw a celebrity. Some would swear that his behaviour rubbed off on you because you were also cheering and doing a noodle dance whenever he wore a different suit or set of clothes.
"YOU'RE DOING GREAT, SANJI-DARLING!" – 😍
But sometimes there were some downs in the relationship, for example his smoking.
You'd worry over him whenever he pulled out a cigarette one after the other in a day. Which led to you talking to him about it.
"If you don't atleast limit your smoking, you might as well be Black-lung Sanji."
He was a bit flabbergasted with the statement but he got what you meant.
Or if you had terrible coughs in reaction to his smoking he would try to smoke at a distance so he wouldn't and I quote, "Damage your gorgeous lungs"
As we all know Sanji, he didn't like women fighting too much or getting hurt but you immediately shut him down on that one, saying that as much as some of his morals were so gentlemanly and some old fashioned he had to accept that you wanted to fight. You wanted to help Luffy become king of the pirates. You wanted to be able reach your dream. So that needed you to be strong. That needed you to fight.
Since then he just aimed to be able to support you in any event that you needed help but he wouldn't be overbearing.
Would allow only you near the kitchen if you wanted to cook or bake something and you would allow only him near your forge/ workspace if he wanted to be near you.
Unfortunately for him you had connections wherever you went so you found out about his life in Peachy Island and never let him rest about it for a while.
And before anyone says anything about Fishman Island Sanji. Let's just say you were besties with Zoro there. Much to the cook's dismay.
"Stop being around that mosshead, Love."
"Stop losing blood around mermaids, Sweetheart."
Long story short, y'all were a confusing couple around that time. In fact, once he saw you were hanging out with the swordsman he would butt heads with the man. Leading you to pull him away before anything crazy happened.
Most times you told him to sit down and let you cook for the crew, especially if he was injured. He wouldn't allow it on account of Luffy's stomach being a literal black hole but you'd convince him otherwise.
When y'all fought together it was sure to leave the enemy in broken bones, hopes and dreams.
With Sanji kicking them away with his special moves and you pulling out a large cannon from the bag you carry around ( which was comically small but it was your magical inventory), nothing could stop you two. Sometime you'd trade opponents if he found himself fighting a woman.
Sometimes you helped him clean up after meals. Making sure that he didn't get all the work.
Most times he'd sit with you beneath the blanket of stars, his head on you chest/belly and you'd both share secrets about yourselves.
All in all, Sanji would love you to infinity and you'd love him just as much.
"Stay" | Eddie Munson
pairing: Eddie Munson X Fem Reader
summary: You go out with the older kids to celebrate but the night ends with you in Eddie's arms.
warnings: fluff
word count: 1.7k
a/n: Been a while but I finished this last night when I couldn't sleep. Just a little something that I thought would be cute to see.
*******NOT MY GIF, CREDIT TO OWNERS*******
Hanging out with the guys on a Saturday night is always fun. It’s even better if something really big happens, they get ten times louder and ten times drunker. Tonight specifically is to celebrate Eddie, Steve, Nancy and Robin all graduating. The barkeep comes to your tables and tells you he’ll be closing in a few minutes, so we need to start leaving. The guys whine because their fun is being cut short, but they obey anyway.
They down the rest of their drinks and start closing out the long tab they accumulated over the night. Nancy, Robin and Steve are talking to each other when you walk over to them, “Hey guys, tonight was fun. Thanks for inviting me,” You give them a smile.
Steve turns and looks at you smiling, “Oh it’s no problem, we love having you here. The more the merrier.” He sends you a radiant yet drunken smile. You chuckle at his expression.
“Alright I think I’m going to head home now, see you guys later,” But just before you can get too far away, Nancy walks up behind you and stops you.
“How much have you had to drink tonight?”
“Nothing, I mean maybe a shot or two but that’s it. Why?” You look at her with concern.
“Because Robin and I are going to Steve’s place after we leave but Eddie shouldn’t go. He is way too drunk already, he’s damn near passed out right now,” She turns to the three of them sitting at the table, “Eddie drove Steve here and he is clearly in no shape to drive, do you think you could take him back home?” You take another look back at Eddie thinking it was stupid of him to drive here in the first place but quickly get over it.
“Yeah of course, I’ll just need his keys.”
“Great! You are a lifesaver!” Nance and you walk back over to the group sitting down. Steve is trying to get Eddie out of the chair while Robin looks for his keys. Once she finds them she hands them to you and assists Steve and Nancy in getting Eddie out of the building.
The five of you walk out and head to Eddie’s car. They put Eddie in the passenger’s side and shut the door carefully.
“Thanks again for helping him out. We owe you big time,” Steve says, giving you a big hug.
“It’s no problem, really. I’m happy to help,” You open the driver’s side door and put your bag down on the seat.
“You think you can get him inside by yourself? He’s pretty heavy,” Robin asks concernedly.
“Yeah it should be fine, I’ll force him to walk inside himself if I have to,” You share a quick laugh before hugging goodbye and heading your separate ways.
Driving to Eddie’s house wasn’t that bad, since it was super late there were barely any cars on the streets. The sound of Bowie softly flitting through the speakers as you focus on the road. Eddie is slouched in the other seat, mouth open and neck cocked back. Soft snores coming from his mouth, it’s quite peaceful. Once you reach his trailer you hop out the car and run over to his side to help him get inside.
“Hey buddy,” You wrap your arms around him and sling one of his over your shoulder, “Let’s get you inside, huh?” With all your strength you lift him out of the car and start heading up towards the front door. Although he’s a fairly skinny the man weighs a lot, it doesn’t help that he is barely conscious to help with the moving. Nevertheless you guys make it up the steps to his place and safely land in his living room.
“Alright,” You sit him down on the couch, “I’m gonna get you some water.” You run to the kitchenette and return with a glass of water and some pain killers because you know he’s gonna need those when he wakes up more later on.
Eddie leans back, getting deeper into the couch cushions. “God what a night,” He exhales, looking up at the ceiling, “That was one of the best, am I right?” He turns to look at you, only his head turns the opposite direction.
“Over here buddy,” You wave your hand in front of him to get his attention.
“Huh,” He turns the other way, finally looking at you, “Oh, ha. Hey, what are you doing here?”
You give him a confused look because you had literally been the one to bring him here, “Um, I brought you here from the bar. Damn you must be really drunk if you don’t remember that,” He just stares at you, not moving, or saying a word. You don’t even think you notice him blinking. “Well, I should be heading home now. It was so fun, hanging out with you guys today. We need to do it more often, preferably with you less drunk,” You smile at him and start towards the door.
“Wait,” Eddie quickly grabs your arm and pulls you back towards him, “Why are you going?”
“I have work tomorrow,” You turn your head to face him, “And you need sleep.” He just looks up at you like that was the worst lie he has ever heard, granted it looks more like disgust.
“Come on. Stay,” You fully turn back to him and see that his face is lowered and shows a hint of sadness. You sigh but ultimately sit down next to him on the couch.
“Fine but can we please get you out of these clothes? It can’t be comfortable in those jeans.”
He groans at you and flops his head back on the arm of the couch, “No I’m good. Just gonna,” He grabs a pillow from beside him and cuddles it into his arms, “Sleep right here.”
“Really? You sure you wouldn’t rather sleep in your big, nice, comfy bed? It’s got blankets and big soft pillows.” You’re trying to coax him off the couch so that when Wayne gets back he’ll have a place to sleep instead of that recliner they still call a chair.
Eddie just groans at you and squeezes the pillow tighter, curling into the fetal position as best as possible on this tiny couch. You roll your eyes at him but leave him be, grabbing the remote from the table and flicking on the tv. Eddie’s eyes are barely open as the movie that was previously playing continues on, the screams of people getting chased by Freddy somehow calming and soothing him into sleep.
You smile at him, the look of peace he has on his face one you rarely see. It looks good on him. You sit silently on your side of the couch while the movie plays, watching both it and Eddie to make sure he doesn’t puke all over himself at some point.
The movie ends and you get up to switch to another one, Eddie shifts in his sleep before opening his eyes to see you in front of him hunched over looking for the next movie to watch. He doesn’t move or say anything, just stares at you, the way your hair falls into your face and you pull it back behind your ear, the curve of your back that leads to your amazing ass. Eddie knows he shouldn’t be looking at you like this but how can he not when you are one of the most beautiful people he’s ever seen?
You make your choice andplace it into the DVR, turning around to resume your position on the couch you notice Eddie’s awake now and staring at you.
“Hey sleepyhead,” You say with a smile on your face.
“Mmm,” He hums back, eyes still half lidded.
“Still wanna sleep on the couch?”
“Mhmm.” He stretches out and lays across the entire thing, taking up your spot in the process.
“Now Ed, if you lay like that where will I sit? On the floor?” You’re joking with him knowing he can barely register the words coming out of your mouth.
Eddie just responds by opening his arm as if for a sideways hug, “Just lay down with me.”
You eye him from your spot a few feet away. Eddie has always been a flirty guy, he flirts with you and your friends all the time, but means nothing by it. But right now you can’t help but to think that these thoughts and actions aren’t just because he’s drunk.
You sigh and head over to him, laying down in his arms, facing the tv and pressing play on the movie. You and Eddie lay like that, cuddled up, watching a movie until sleep takes over the both of you. The feeling of Eddie’s arms wrapped around you and the heat from his body helping you drift off.
---
Wayne parks his truck in front of his trailer home and gets out, groaning in the process at the pain he feels in his lower back. He can’t wait to get inside, shower and take a nice nap on the couch. Sometimes he wishes he took the bedroom just so he could have a proper bed to lay in but he loved Eddie more than his old joints so he gave it up.
Upon opening the door Wayne is surprised to hear that the tv is on because Eddie typically turns it off before heading to bed, but then he sees it. Eddie sleeping soundly on the couch, with you curled up in his arms. A smile is pasted on both of your faces, soft and content.
Wayne can’t help but smile at the sight too. He knows that Eddie has a crush on you, even if the boy hasn’t told him directly. Seeing the two of you together warms his heart even if it is only a one time thing. He enters the house fully, shucking his outer clothing and shoes before heading to the bathroom to shower off the dirt and grime from his job.
When Eddie wakes up and notices you still there with him he will be so dumbfounded that he will have no clue what to do, which means Wayne will get a ton of questions revolving the subject but never actually touching it. He just wishes that that boy would make a move and spare him the pain of listening to Eddie fumble over his words asking for advice.
A pjo x dc crossover that takes place before the lighting thief.
Starting with Percy Jackson who was 11 at the time when he catches the attention of the teen titans, who have started to notice that Percy was the target for almost all the recent monster attacks, because Percy keeps getting caught up in all these monster attacks the titans do a background check on Percy.
Of course the background check leaves them more concerned (what do you mean Percy attended 6 schools and got expelled from all 6 schools?) so they decide the next time Percy gets caught up in a monster attack they'll interrogate him to try and find some answers as to why Percy is a target for these monsters.
When Percy gets caught up in another monster attack he does what he always do and that's running from the monsters and to somewhere safe but this time his paths of escaping are blocked, the monster cornered him and Percy does try fighting back and during the fight the teen titans do come to his rescue and Percy who never stuck around to see the fights is immediately star struck by Robin(the only one who doesn't have powers yet was able to take a monster down by himself?!). Percy not wanting to stick around but staying because his path was still blocked ends up being walked home by Robin and Percy asks robin how he's able to fight and if he could maybe please teach him how to fight because he keeps getting attacked and he's tired of running he wants to fight back. Robin, seeing this as an opportunity to investigate Percy more, agrees to teach Percy how to fight.
Percy usually trained with robin over the weekends during summer break and thinks Robin is the coolest person ever and Robin isn't any closer to figuring out why Percy keeps being attacked but he meets Sally who asks Robin if he could protect/keep an eye on Percy (he agrees but is suspicious of Sally because he knows that she knows more than she's letting on) he does grow fond of them and ends up giving them a device that'll alert him immediately if either Sally or Percy need his or the titans help.
When Percy is sent to Yancy Academy Robin reminds him to take the device with him to Yancy just in case he needs help. While the school year started Robin did keep tabs on Percy (the mini robin as the titans jokingly referred to Percy as) and there's really nothing note worthy about Percy's school year except one of his teachers being replaced in the middle of the school year but that was all that happened. At the end of the school year Sally does ask if robin could be the one to pick Percy up from the subway station( Sally and Robin stayed in touch during the summer just in case Sally needed a quick get away from Gabe) Robin agreed and picked up Percy from the train station and sees Percy was upset about something, Percy tells him it's because he isn't welcomed back the next school year but robin knew it had to be more than just that.
Now on to the events of the lighting thief
While Percy was on his quest Robin was freaking out because what do you mean Sally and Percy went missing and then Percy reappeared causing a 10 car pile up and then disappeared again only to reappear again and blow up the st Louis Arch?? The titans are all trying to find Percy, they don't know what's happening but whatever it is it's big and Robin won't stop stressing over trying to find Percy and Sally.
After the fight with Ares on the beach Percy calls Robin for help instead of flying home ( the titans were already on their way, they saw the news of Percy in a knife/gun fight with his captor) after returning to new York (and Percy returning the bolt) and seeing Sally also returned home Robin tries to get answers but before he could he had some problems in Gotham he needed to deal with.
This is currently a brain worm I have and I might actually turn it into a full on fic later, I have a vague outline for the sea of monsters and the titans curse that I'll post about later but here's this for now.
#this is rushed#id also think during the event of lighting thief it was also dicks final year as robin#robin ended up close to the jackson family but after quitting the titans he kinda lost touch with them#percy who was busy with quest that robin died and thinks its the robin he knew died#and hes so upset and regrets not telling robin he was a demigod because maybe if robin knew he'd call percy to help him#Percy Jackson#percy jackson the lightning thief#percy jackson and the heroes of olympus#Pjo#pjo#dc comics#dick grayson#robin dick grayson#dc robin#pjo x dc#dc nightwing#Nightwing
Another excerpt from the next chapter of "think pink", aka "Kon meets pink kryptonite and decides to fuck Tim and his boyfriend about it".
"Are you sure about this, Kon?" Tim asks evenly.
"As sure as I am that you two should come the fuck down here and let me get my hands on you already," Kon replies in a purr, grinning at them both again as he tips his sunglasses back into his hair. "I mean, I can reach you with my TTK, but that never feels quite as . . . personal, you know?"
They can always talk later, really.
"Fuck," Tim says, very carefully and very clearly. Then he stalks down the stairs like he's in a cape and Bernard shuts the door and re-rigs the security system and follows after him, and Kon doesn't even get the chance to lean forward before Tim's grabbing his hips and yanking him there.
Kon is perfectly happy to go.
"Safeword first, if you have one," Tim says. "Or we can just use traffic lights. Red means stop, yellow means proceed with caution, green means go. Is there anything we definitely shouldn't do or say?"
Kon leans down and kisses him.
Like, the other stuff is important and he'll get to it in a second–but getting to kiss Tim of all people is way more important than anything else.
Tim clearly agrees, since he kisses back. Kon winds his arms around his neck and resists the urge to completely envelope him in his TTK, since that's probably one of those boundary things that they're gonna need to discuss.
Kon's never actually kissed another guy before, but it doesn't feel as weird as he might've expected it to and frankly he's already finding himself to be pretty impressed with Tim as a first contender. Like, Tim is apparently very good at kissing. He is careful and he is thorough and he is fucking dedicated to the fucking process. He knows exactly how to move his lips and exactly how much to use his tongue and exactly when to bring in his teeth and exactly how to make Kon's entire useless excuse for a brain melt out his goddamn ears with just the tiniest little well-timed nip to his lower lip. It's seriously all Kon can do just to keep up with the bastard.
Nice, he thinks with a great deal of slightly dizzying feeling, digging his fingers in against Tim's back as they press their bodies closer together and try to eat each other alive.
Very nice.
"Okay, wow," Bernard says, watching them intently and sounding a bit impressed himself. "So you two have done this before? Tim, babe, I am hurt that you never previously mentioned making time with Super-boytoy and I demand all the dirty details."
"We haven't," Tim rasps, pulling back just enough to speak and staring at Kon's mouth as he does. Kon has a weirdly hard time trying to look away from his eyes, so doesn't actually bother to try all that hard to. "Done this before, I mean."
"Well I very definitely can't tell," Bernard says. "Like, holy shit, you guys."
Kon is vaguely aware that it's talking time right now, but he just really wants to kiss Tim some more, so he leans forward just a little bit and–
"Tell me your safeword," Tim orders lowly, tightening his grip on Kon's hips.
"Thirteen," Kon replies reflexively, because he can't ignore that tone of voice from Robin. He doesn't usually do all that much stuff that requires a safeword but, well . . . yeah. Sometimes he does, so he has one.
Honestly he'd do that kind of stuff a lot more, probably, just . . .
He just doesn't like doing it with people he doesn't know very well, he guesses. Although that's obviously not gonna be a problem right now.
There are very, very few people that Kon knows as well as he knows Tim.
"If you can't speak for some reason but you need to safeword, just tap one of us three times," Tim says. "Got it?"
"Yeah," Kon says. "What's, uh, your word?"
"We use 'clique'," Tim says. "Or traffic lights, whichever. And the taps, if we're nonverbal."
"Okay," Kon says with a careful nod as he files the information away and represses the urge to either lick his lips or just kiss Tim again after all. "Hard no's?"
"No serious injuries," Tim says. "No humiliation or degradation, no scat or watersports."
"No choking," Bernard puts in. "And no age play or blindfolds."
"What about you?" Tim asks while Kon's still processing how quick and matter-of-fact they both just answered that and how weirdly fucking hot it was. Just . . . really weirdly hot, yeah.
"No, uh . . . no medical shit," he says carefully, not quite flexing his fingers against Tim's back. "Nothing like a lab. Not gonna call anyone any variant of 'Daddy', and don't call me 'kid' or 'pup'."
"Okay," Tim agrees. "Anything you especially like or want to do?"
"I dunno," Kon says, then attempts to say "just tell me when I'm doing okay at something" but can't even slightly get the words out. That . . . well. Maybe later he can say that, he thinks to himself. Just–eventually, maybe. "I'm not that fancy, I just want us all to get off and have a good time."
"Is oral on the table?" Tim asks.
"Sure?" Kon replies with a shrug. "Although I haven't actually gone down on anyone with a cock before, I don't really know how good at it I'll be. So like . . . yeah, might need a couple tips there when it's my turn."
"Oh shit, you're like half a virgin, aren't you," Bernard says like it's a realization, and Kon blinks at him in bemusement.
"Uh, no?" he says, more than a little confused by where the guy got that idea from. "Definitely not a virgin, man, I popped my cherry the first chance I got."
"No, like–sorry, I just meant you've never sucked cock and you've probably never bottomed before," Bernard clarifies, waving a hand between them. "Although maybe I'm making some assumptions about the kind of girls you've known or what you do in the privacy of your own bedroom, so have you?"
"Oh, that," Kon realizes himself. "Yeah, no, never gotten pegged or anything like that. Or used any toys that way by myself either."
"Ngh," Tim says.
"I now very, very desperately want to change that fact," Bernard says. "Or to watch Tim change that fact. Or both of those things, either subsequently or simultaneously."
"Would that be okay, Kon?" Tim asks carefully. Kon . . . pauses, and just sort of . . . processes that idea, a bit. Somehow the idea of getting fucked that way hadn't really occurred to him as an option that might be on the table here, even with the way the conversation was just going and also the fact that it should've been an obvious possibility anyway, considering.
Well, he is kind of stupid sometimes.
"Uh," Kon says, feeling weirdly hot under the collar as he tries to picture Tim getting up between his thighs like that and not sure if his immediate internal reaction is just him being a fucking horndog and a half or something to blame on the existence of pink kryptonite. "Actually, uh. Yeah. Yes. Please?"
"Ngh," Tim says, and immediately surges in and yanks him down into another kiss. Kon has absolutely no problems with this turn of events and no desire to do anything but kiss him back.
"Your fucking suit is too fucking tight," Bernard mutters with absolutely no trace of a complaint in his voice. Kon thinks irrationally of that fond tone the guy had used with Tim before and really wants to hear it again. "I think if we actually get you hard enough to play with your presumably invulnerable dick is gonna tear right through it."
"That has almost never happened," Kon manages breathlessly, and Tim groans into his mouth.
Chapter 28 of 'Artificial Wingman'!
For the full story on AO3, click Here!
Enjoy!
---
Just like Jason predicted, Danny didn't seem perturbed by the news that the others were looking more into him. A little uncomfortable, sure, but not really bothered. The teen just shrugged when he was told about the conversation he and Dick had. Damian on the other hand...
"I'll kill them." The teen muttered, pacing behind the stool Danny was perched on. The look on his face was down right murderous.
"No you won't." The response is out before he could even really think about it, not that he was actually worried. "You haven't made a murder attempt in years."
Damian paused at that, glaring at the man over Danny's head, but didn't bother denying it. "Fine, I won't kill them." The teen relented, grasping his chin with his hand as he thought it over. "But I don't have to kill them to take them off the case..."
Jason let out a sigh. This was going to be a long night. "You can't maim them either. Alfred wouldn't approve." Damian huffed a breath through gritted teeth, not responding as he continued to pace a hole into the worn flooring.
"Robin, it's okay," Danny pipped up, turning to look at the teen over his shoulder. "It's not really that surprising, is it? I mean, I did punch your brother in the face before grabbing you and running away. Can you really say that it was completely unexpected for them to try and look for me?" A small, very out of place grin wormed it's way onto the demon brat's face at Danny's comment, before it was quickly stifled back into his usual expressionless expression. "Besides," Danny continued, either entirely unaware or just uncaring of what he caused, "It's not like they'll find anything on me. I don't exist here."
"I... suppose you're right," Damian admitted reluctantly, moving to lean slightly against the teen's shoulder. "I just hoped that we would have a bit more time before my paranoid family began sniffing around."
"I'm sorry, but did you just say that you punched someone? Which one was it?" Jason ignored the exchange between the two, more hung up on that little tidbit. Why hadn't he heard about this?
Danny shot him a confused look, then turned that look to Damian. "Uhh, I'm not sure. Robin, which one was he again?"
"That would be Richard. You punched my eldest adopted brother." Damian brushed the teen's bangs from his face, not paying any attention to the way Jason gaped at them, stunned. He was silent for a moment, before he burst into uproarious laughter.
"You punched Dick?" Jason couldn't hide the glee in his voice if he tried. "Oh man, that's amazing. Please tell me that there's footage of it somewhere."
A more familiar smile flickered across Damian's face this time. "I'm not sure if we have the footage, but I'm sure that it would be no problem to retrieve it from the store's security cameras ourselves at a later date." The smile fell into a more grim expression. "Of course, that will have to wait until after we plan around this... inconvenience."
Jason sobered up quickly, back on the task at hand. "Right. Well, first things first, we should probably try and keep you out of the public eye." He pointed at Danny, who was fiddling with something in his lap. "I know it sucks, but you probably shouldn't go outside much for the time being. Now that the other's are looking for you, its too risky to chance any of O's camera's catching a glimpse of you."
Danny frowned at that, his attention shifting back to the man. "I... guess that makes sense," H" He pouted, looking disappointed. "That's gonna suck."
"Do not worry," Damian pressed himself more tightly to the teen's side, as if to remind the teen of his presence. "I will not leave your side until it is safe to do so again." That seemed to cheer the teen up a bit, his cloudy expression brightening as he leaned back into the vigilantie's touch.
Nodding, Jason made a noise to gain their attention back. "Well, there's also problems that come with that, too. We can't stay here." He gestures at the apartment space around them with a wave of his arm. "This place is basically an OSHA violation. I was fine with us crashing here for a day or two, but if we're gonna be dodging the bats and birds, then we need to move shop."
Damian nodded in agreement, letting go of Danny and moving to start packing up their belongings. Danny, on the other hand, frowned. "I don't see the problem with staying here." He commented, leaning back on the bar stool until the front legs picked up off the floor before coming back down with a dull thump. "It's a bit rundown, sure, but I've stayed in worse before." Like Devine intervention, just as the words left his mouth, the stool under him gave an ominous creak before giving way. Danny let out a yelp as he was sent tumbling backwards, head first towards the crumbling counter behind him.
Both Jason and Damian lunged forwards to catch him, missing entirely as the halfa dropped through the decaying wood. They froze for a minute, trying to comprehend Danny's suddenly headless body, when the teen sat up quickly with a small screech. He was on his feet in an instant, making the two brothers jerk in place as he practically flew past them to duck behind Jazz, who had just walked into the room. "Uhh," Jazz stuttered, looking between her brother and them. "What happened here?"
Jason started to respond, but was beaten to the punch by Danny. "We were talking about how we should be moving to a new safe house!" He answered in a tone of strained cheer. "Which, I for one, think is an excellent idea! Say, Jason, did you have a place in mind? Maybe one without so many, uh, spiders?"
'Spiders?' Jason shook his head. He wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth, and if Danny was anything like the rest of his family when it came to compromises, then that bar stool breaking was definitely a gift. "Uh, yeah. I had one in mind, it's a little more crowded, but it's in much better shape than this place." Not that it was much of a challenge in the first place.
"Well, that's great and all, but what about the Specter Speeder? I thought the whole point of us hiding out here was so that we could keep it hidden." Jazz pointed out cautiously. "I don't know about you, but I really don't want to just leave it somewhere too far away from us. What if we need something out of it, or someone stumbles across it?"
'She has a point.' Jason frowned, crossing his arms as he tried to come up with a solution. "She's right. We can't just leave it here, and parking it out on the street would bring too much unwanted attention to us."
Danny scoffed from where he was still hiding behind his sister. "That's an easy fix." He stated. "Just put it in Camouflage mode."
Jazz frowned at her brother. "You know turning something invisible isn't always the best way to solve your problems, little brother. Turning it invisible won't stop someone from accidentally kicking it. Or worse, someone crashing their car into it thinking that there isn't anything there."
"Uhh, I didn't say turn it invisible. I said turn on Camouflage mode." Jazz's stern frown dropped into a look of confusion. "Wait, you did know that there was a Camouflage mode, right?" When all he got was an embarrassed silence in response, an exasperated look crossed his face. "Seriously Jazz? We gave you a manual and everything!"
"Hey!" She started, defensive. "It's not my fault that you and Tucker decided to finish up just as exam week was starting! I barely had time to eat and sleep. Did you honestly expect me to read the forty-eight page booklet on all the updates you made?"
Danny blinked in surprise. "Sam made the manual forty-eight pages?" They both stared at each other for a minute, before Jazz broke into a fit of giggles. The teen followed suit, a very undignified snort escaping him. "That actually does sound like Sam." He acknowledged. "Did she make an actual book, or was it a PDF?"
"Take a wild guess." Jazz snarked at him, giggling some more when Danny shook his head with a groan. "Yeah, you remember her three-hour lecture on why excess use of paper was leading to deforestation and why it was better for the environment to switch to digital documents." Both shuddered at the reminder, making Damian and Jason glance at each other.
"Tucker was actually pretty hyped after that one." Danny admitted with a wry grin. "He and Sam spent the rest of the week persuading the school to go digital. They almost succeeded, too, if Technus hadn't invaded the computer lab and deleted the online teachers planner."
Before they could delve more into... whatever those memories were, Jason interrupted. "Well, if you have a way to hide the Speeder, then I believe we should get packed up." He turned away from the siblings, going over to help Damian stuff the pile of wires and circuits into a box. Behind them, Danny let out a squawk of panic, rushing forwards with shouts of 'Be Careful with those!'
Safe to say, it wasn't even an hour later before they were piling into the Speeder, Danny in the driver's seat. The teen fiddled with some buttons before the vehicle's exterior seemed to ripple, going invisible for a minute as he adjusted something. "Okay, what kind of disguise should I go for?" He asked, turning a dial.
"Something in black." Damian stated from the back seat, where he was buckled in behind the driver's seat. "The most common vehicle color is white, with the second being black, so it would be less likely to draw attention."
Danny nodded, the dial making a light clicking noise before he pushed it down. A generic looking car body was visible in the rear-view mirror, it's color shifting in a way that reminded Jason of Miss Martian's Bio-ship. "Okay, I think we're good to go now!" The teen shot his passengers a fanged smile as he put the vehicle in drive.
"Uhh, Jazz?" Jason glanced over at the woman. "Does your brother have a driver's license?" Maybe he should have asked before they started driving.
"No, but he practically re-built this thing. He knows how to operate it." Came her unbothered reply. He would have believed her, had the teen driving not promptly flew over a speed bump seconds later.
Thankfully, they made it to their destination in one piece. The moment the speeder came to a stop, Jason was sliding out of the back, silently praying for the poor soul that would have to grade Danny's driving when the teen did go to get his license. The man was followed a few seconds later by Damian and Jazz, Danny pouting as he pulled himself out of the now normal-looking car. "Oh, come on! My driving isn't that bad!" The teen whined.
"Beloved, you are a being with many skills. Driving does not appear to be one of them." Damian wrapped a possessive arm around the teen, pulling Danny into his side as he surveyed the apartment complex in front of them. "Are you sure that this is the place?" He asked, turning to shoot a look at Jason.
"Yeah, I'm sure, brat." He started forward, holding the door open for them as they filed in. The man nodded to a woman with a baby stroller as he led them towards the elevator, earning a polite nod from the woman and an excited wave from the little boy strapped into it. Once on the lift, he clicked the button for the fourth floor. "It's owned by one Harold Treeny, a middle-aged man from Connecticut that inherited the building from his aunt. He's never visited, but puts a lot of money into maintaining it, yet he keeps the rent low for the people who live here, and gives leniency to single mom's and the elderly when it comes to late payments."
Damian shot him a look from the corner of his eye. "This Treeny wouldn't happen to be one of your aliases, would it Todd?" He asked, though it was obvious he already knew the answer.
Jason chuckled. "No, not one of mine. It's actually one of Roy's. He wanted a place to stay, should he ever need to crash in Gotham, and he just lets me use it when he's not here. Though, we have discussed letting it fall into the Red Hood's hands, just for a bit." He let the conversation drop as the elevator doors opened, giving a friendly wave to an elderly couple that shuffled into the elevator as they exited. It was only when they were safely in Apartment 405 that he picked it back up. "The gang activity in the area has started to uptick in the past couple of weeks, and he's a bit worried about this place being caught in the crossfire."
Damian turned away from him, inspecting the rest of the apartment now that his curiosity was sated. Jazz, however, frowned. Leaning on her brother's shoulders, she looked to him. "Are you sure it's a good idea to stay here, with that going on? What if something happens?"
"I wouldn't worry about it too much. The activity hasn't spread more than a block since the last time I checked it, and I have some of my men spread around to alert me should that change." Jason shot a comforting smile at her, but it did little to release the tension that had coulded in her at the mention of gang activity.
Thankfully, Jason wasn't the only one who had noticed the woman's discomfort. Danny pressed his shoulder back into her chest gently, drawing her attention. "Hey, don't worry so much. It's not like a couple guys with guns would be any match for your's truly." He puffed up his chest in an exaggerated way, preening visibly when his sister laughed at him.
"Okay, okay. I guess you have a point." She admitted, ruffling her brother's hair and snagging his bag's strap while he squawked in protest. Darting gracefully out of her brother's reach, she gently sat the bag down on the coffee table before turning back around. "Okay! I don't know about you boys, but I for one think we could all do with some food." She looked around the room, clearly waiting for their responses.
"You still have an appetite after that harrowing experience?" Jason joked, barely flinching as Danny elbowed him.
"My driving was perfectly fine!" The teen protested, a pout forming as he crossed his arms.
"You drove over four different speedbumps like they weren't there, hit several potholes, and almost snagged a manhole cover with your rear... tire." Jason listed off, taking a page out of Jazz's book and violently ruffling his hair. "I'd call that a harrowing experience for any normal person."
Danny pulled away from the man's overzealous hair ruining efforts, patting down the loose strands with very little success. Giving up, he turned and glared at Jason. "Since when have any of us been normal?" He gripes, tugging the hood of his borrowed hoodie over his head and tightening the strings a bit. Tossing one of the agglets into his mouth, he chewed on the plastic as he thought. "I could eat." He decided eventually with a shrug, plopping down on the thrifted couch with an appreciative sigh.
Damian settled down next to the teen with more grace, letting his arm rest beside his lap so that it occasionally brushed against Danny's leg. "Food does seem like a good idea," the vigilante agreed. Now everyone turned to Jason, as if waiting for his opinion.
Jason sighed, finally allowing himself to acknowledge the hunger he felt. He hadn't eaten since before patrol last night, and now that they were safe for the time being, his stomach let him know just how much it appreciated not being fed. "Alright, alright!" He tossed his hands up in mock exasperation. "I know a good Thai place just a block from here. They have decent vegan options," he answered before Damian could ask, "and the owners know me. We can place an order and have it ready by the time I get there." When no one protested, the man pulled out his phone and dialed the number, not bothering to ask before placing an order he usually gave for when the other Outlaws were in town. It had a bit of everything, and plenty of servings. Of course, they would be more likely to have leftovers after, but all that meant is that Jason might not have to cook for a bit.
----
Cass and Steph watched as Tim and Dick argued, their heads bouncing back and fourth between the two like it was a tennis match.
"Why didn't you say anything earlier?" Dick asked, arms crossed and pout firmly on his face. It had been there since Tim had told him that he had already been looking into Danny, though they still didn't know the teen's actual name.
"I didn't say anything earlier because I thought it went without saying. We've seen this kid with Damian multiple times, you got punched by him!" Tim clutched his coffee mug close to his chest as he rambled, preventing Cass from slipping anything melatonin into it. Part if her was sure that, on some level, he had begun to suspect some sort of tampering.
...maybe it was time to brainstorm a new way of enforcing Alfred's healthy sleep schedule on her workaholic brother.
Cass was pulled from her thoughts by Steph's loud sigh of relief. Both Tim and Dick had left the room, probably headed to check whatever working file they had on Danny. "Man," Steph whined, stretching until her back popped slightly. "This is harder than I thought it would be. How have you not told them something super cryptic and usless yet?"
Cass smiled at the girl, standing as well to follow her to the kitchen. They both nodded at Alfred as Steph began to dig for snacks. Cass leaned against the counter, accepting the oatmeal cookie Alfred handed her gratefully.
"It is tempting." Cass admitted, biting down on the award winning pastry. "But Damian needs this." Her littlest brother was always so prim and proper, when not being serious and focused. It was good for him to let loose a bit, and expand his social circle past Jon Kent and Skylar from his art club.
"Your right," Steph pulled her head out of the fridge. "He does need to let loose once in a while." Diving back in, she made an "aha!" noise as she pulled out a leftover slice of chocolate cake. Snack found, she started to search for a fork. "So, how do we distract them?" She asked.
"Melatonin works well for Tim." She admitted quietly. "But Dick will be harder to distract."
"Hmm," Steph took a minute to think about it, slowly chewing. "Oh! I've got it!" An devious smirk worked its way onto her face as she gestured Cass closer, whispering her plan. When Cass pulled back, she had a thoughtfully look on her face.
"That could work." She agreed, a similar smirk appearing on her face. Behind them, Alfred shook his head fondly before going back to his prepwork for dinner. As long as things didn't get too out of hand, the man was content to let the girls have free reign. After all, he too agreed that Master Damian needed this break.
I'm thinking about Sunday again and how we're shown that Robin is his weak spot over and over and really he probably wouldn't have slipped up if not for the people trying to exploit her death.
In 2.0 we see them hanging out together and the like but we don't see them interact much, Robin very obviously cares for Sunday but Sunday maintains a quiet atmosphere and professional facade and as such one could wonder how much he actually cares about her as his sister.
But then at the end of the quest we see the cracks start to show a bit. Sparkle pretends to be Robin and Sunday becomes enraged. Until then he's pretty subdued in his behavior in the aftermath, but the mockery of his sister's death is too great a slight and when Sparkle offers to pretend to be Robin so nobody gets suspicious, Sunday tells her to stuff it and go away which she does. It's a really telling scene that when Robin is involved his careful mask cracks down the middle and he begins to not think clearly or strategically because later in 2.1 it's noted he went back to accept the offer.
Aventurine notes that Robin's death is an entry point for the IPC to exploit but not for the overall Family, just for Sunday. Sunday is reeling to find control with the other heads pressuring him and the IPC closing in like a pack of hungry vultures. Sunday was always alone except for Robin and they're both pretty aware of the corruption as Sunday is desperately trying to root out the traitor while Robin left and is helping him research Death. Aventurine knows this and he knows Sunday is off balance and prone to overlooking things in his rage and grief that's potent in everything he does after 2.0's quest. Sunday went to Ratio for informatiom because he understands Aventurine's a threat needing to be taken seriously and he needs to handle him quickly and efficiently and that makes him sloppy enough to get duped by the Jade cornerstone.
When Welt and Acheron investigate his office they find all the letters and lists and investigations into the problem but they also find a beloved lightcone of a young Sunday watching his sister preform on a toy stage. Robin is noted as finding this preformance her favorite and most cherished one. Is Sunday clapping to applaud her or is he keeping time for her? Sunday keeps things running himself so she can free to persue her dreams. He does care about Robin, they really only have each other.
Finally... Gallagher. You really see the persona Sunday puts on finally shatter all at once. This is the man who murdered his sister and who's caused him so much trouble and stress. Nobody's around to fool, nobody's around to witness, and you finally see all his pent up rage and grief spill out. That's his mistake, he's so distracted letting out his bottled up feelings Gallagher's able to get him before he can even react.
Small side analysis, Robin's name and signature song come from the Emily Dickinson poem of the same name. She's an American Poet who mostly wrote works of Romanticism and Transcendentalism. We haven't see much of Robin but she seems to match Romantacism, a literary movement that focused on emotion and individualism with no regard for logic. Sunday seems to match Transcendentalism, a literary movement that focused on the relationship between humanity, the divine, and nature with little regard for science. The three aspects of Transcendentalism also match Xipe's motif of threes, like their three heads.
#honkai star rail#Finis Analyzes#sunday#robin#hsr robin#hsr sunday#I'm so sick of them (affectionate)#Do I make any sense#Probably not#I've been studying for an upcoming literature exam#The different movements are haunting me#Anyways Sunday is a wonderfully written antagonist
Obsession's Grip (Zosan X Reader) P6
Plot: After saving some of the straw hat crew from a prison, the crew help takes a young man away so he can have a fresh start in life. He's shy but seems to grow attached to Reader in an unhealthy way.
Warning: Bad language, Violence and Making out.
Reader is Female (Sorry), Zoro X Sanji X Reader, Poly relationship, established relationship. Reader has the ability to control the snake tattoos on her arms that come alive when she commands, they can change size and are connected to her emotions.
P1 - P2 - P3 - P4 - P5 - P7 - P8 - P9 - P10 - P11 - P12 - P13 - P14
Unfortunately the island the sunny docks at is uninhabited according to Nami's map, its called Gurōberī also known as glow berry island, the forest overflowing the island is dark and dense the top of the trees so thick that no light can get inside and yet the dark forest has spots of blue, yellow and pink lights all from Berry's that hang from the tree's ready to be picked. Its scary but beautiful so you have no problem going when Usopp dragged you aside begging for you to go, find seeds and gather food instead of him. You told him yes as long as he finishes your chores from yesterday which he happily agreed too since it was that or the dark forest. Luffy had already run off to explore so that just left you and Robin standing on the small patch of free ground where the Sunny's ramp could lay down letting the crew off, when ever you brushed up again a bush or flower it would suddenly start glowing making the two of you even more fascinated with the forest. "Y/n my love" Sanji yells out from the ship running over to the railing and almost slamming into it with slight panic thinking you had already left, but he relaxes when seeing you still standing there with Robin. Zoro sighs and places a hand on the cooks shoulder "Calm down, you know she wouldn't leave without us" the swordsman shakes his head while making his way down the ramp. You managed to clear things up with Nami and Robin so the two girls aren't mad at the boys but you still needed to talk to your lovers. It was deiced that the three of you would go off together and talk while they helped you pick food and Robin goes with Nami to map out the island.
Sanji quickly follows grabbing a large empty backpack and slinging it over his shoulder while throwing another one at the back of Zoro's head who growls spinning around to yell at the blonde but stops when seeing the stressed out look on his face. The two have been anxious to know what's going on but while Zoro is calm on the outside Sanji isn't, deciding not to pick a fight the swordsman picks up the backpack and slings it over his shoulder making his way over to you with the cook close behind. "You three head off, I'll wait for Nami. Don't stay out too late" Robin giggles patting you on the shoulder before nodding at the two boys who join you, with your empty backpack already on your back you head towards the forest pushing past leaves and bushes that glow different colors at any kind of touch. After a short while of pushing past the dense forest the three of you make it to a natural path, Its quiet but not a bad quiet, more like peaceful as if your in a silent comforting dream. "Its beautiful" You whisper to yourself seeing darkness all around and yet the glowing fruit above too high to reach look almost like stars while the fruit on the ground light up the way down the path. Zoro pulls a bright red cloth out of his backpack and ties it around the branch of tree you just passed through marking their way back for later. "My love… can we talk now?" Sanji asks stepping next to you and taking your hand snapping you out of your amazement, turning you give him a smile hoping to ease that worried look on his face "Sorry to keep you waiting, I'll do my best to explain."
Zoro holds onto your belt as you walk down the path, Sanji still gripping onto your hand as you explain what happened yesterday. "Percy wanted to know about our relationship, he just seemed confused and curious since he hasn't heard of anything like this before but then his questions started getting quicker, i didn't really have much time to answer or set things straight" Gripping onto the cooks hand you let out a breath trying to calm yourself not wanting to become emotional like yesterday, luckily the two give you time to calm yourself but offer caring glances and reassuring touches. "He started asking, what if you or I fall in love with someone else? i told he i would talk to you two before anything, but he just started to rephrase the same question over and over again. I don't know why but it made me panic a little… He started asking about cheating" Sanji flinches at the thought alone, he would never even dream of cheating on you or Zoro, it hurt that someone would accuse him of such. Zoro grits his teeth already knowing where this was going, he didn't blame you for being upset, but he's mad you didn't talk to them about it sooner and at Percy for even bringing it up. "I know you two would never, but he wouldn't stop talking, my mind couldn't catch up, he.. Just talked so fast" Tears well up in your eyes just thinking back to what he said and how it made you feel, stopping in your tracks you grip your teeth trying to stop yourself from crying again. Sanji's quick to pull you into a hug his hand stoking your hair to comfort you, Zoro rubs your back while trying to see your face that is buried in the cook's chest "We would never cheat on you" The two say in unison slightly surprising each other but at the same time it conformed their thinking the same way.
Sniffling, your hands grip onto Sanji's jacket starting to relax a little "I-i know you wouldn't but i felt my heart shatter, he came up with all these ways you'd hide it, how you'd cheat and who you would cheat with. He made it sound like its already happened and I felt like it already happened, like i was just finding out, the pain was excruciating… i couldn't take it, i tried to think i really tired but… i don't know how he did it but everything he said at the time made sense, its like he was specking the truth. I'm so sorry" Tears stream down your face as you cling onto the cook both of their eyes widening at your words, the cook holds you tight while placing a kiss on your head trying to sooth your cry's "Its alright Mi amour, i understand now… We would never hurt you, you did well to take time to think and come to us after" The blonde tries to stop himself from crying not wanting to make things worse but a tear slips out of his eye seeing you like this, Zoro stares down at you with anger but its not directed at you, he hates that Percy made you feel this way and put ideas into your head. Hearing the cook sniffle the swordsman looks over seeing the blonde holding back tears, sighing he wipes away a stray tear falling down Sanji's cheek before wrapping his arms around the two of you and placing a kiss on your head. "We're not mad at you, like Sanji said you did the right thing by tacking time to think on your own… None of this is your fault, ok?" The swordsman asks placing another kiss on your head, managing to calm down you wipe your eyes on your closed fist still gripping the cooks coat and nod while moving to look up at the two. "Y/n.. I need you to understand something" Zoro states looking down at you with a serous look.
Both you and Sanji raise an eyebrow at this but stay quiet knowing Zoro isn't joking around "What he did is manipulation, he attacked you mentally and emotionally to get what he wanted. You need to stay away from him, ok?" It sounded more like an order but you didn't protest instead you nod, Sanji sighs hating that this happened, but he's glad your back with them and ok, placing a kiss on your head the cook loosens his grip on you. "Do you think he meant to do it?" You ask thinking back to this morning, Percy's apology really seemed off but you still wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt in case he didn't mean too. Zoro growls thinking back to this morning and that look in the young man's eye, he was ready to kill Sanji just for kissing your cheek. "Why would you say that love? i don't think you can un-continuously do that" Sanji asks moving some hair out of your face and cupping your cheek, leaning into his touch you place your hand over his "Percy talked to me this morning before breakfast, he apologized for upsetting me and said that because of my Kind and understanding nature people would take advantage of that, he didn't want me to end up like his farther, he wanted to protect me… I half accept his apology since he wasn't sorry for what he said about you two and i told him to just stay away from us three for a while. I-i just" Stopping yourself you look up at Zoro seeing him shake his head while Sanji glances away from you, the two know Percy's right about people wanting to take advantage but your smart when it comes to people, you read people quite well so for you to miss this must mean you relate to him in someway.
Looking between the two you start to worry, they know something you don't and it makes your heart drop "I fucked up, didn't it?" You whisper while looking down at your feet feeling stupid for letting Percy manipulate you a second time, Sanji pulls you into him again rubbing your back but not knowing what to say. Zoro shakes his head running his hand over your cheek and too your chin getting you to look up at him "Half fucked up.. Let me guess, Mother abandoned him, he has no family left, he trusts you and only you, he asks for your help, he feels safe around you. He pulls at your heart strings, making you feel for him, making you feel like you need to be there for him. Weather he's doing it on purpose of not it doesn't matter, he hurt you, half arsed an apology while continuing to manipulate you and then thinks he has the right to own you" The swordsman gets angrier and angrier with each word his mind going back to this morning and how Percy looked at the cook, your eyes widen at his tone but his grip on you doesn't tighten despite his anger. Taking his hand off your chin you bring it to your lips placing a firm kiss on it while Sanji places his hand on Zoro's arm rubbing it up and down to try and calm him "What happened this morning? Did Percy do something?" The blonde asks starting to get a little angry, he knew something was off with the young man, but he just put it down to the fact that it's a new guy on the ship. Zoro lets out a sigh trying to relax from his outburst while pulling the both of you into him holding you close to his chest, wrapping an arm around him you lean up and kiss the swordsman's cheek as the cook keeps his eyes on the green haired man's face.
Its clear there's still anger in Zoro's eyes but there's also worry, Sanji runs his hand up the swordsman's arm and to his cheek keeping eye contact "Yea… When you kissed Y/n this morning Percy tensed up, he had this murders look in his eyes while glaring at you and then he grabbed a knife holding it in a death grip. He watched you and i thought he was going to kill you but he relaxed and put it down" Sanji's eyes widen at this, his heart stopping in his chest as Zoro looks down at the cook, how could he not have noticed someone staring at him like that? he should have sensed it so why didn't he. "I don't understand, Why would he be acting like this? You've done nothing to him" You speak up with concern in your voice, Zoro shrugs unsure of the real answer, but he has a few guesses while Sanji shakes his head "I don't know but what ever the reason we should stay away from him and tell Nami and Robin later, just in case he's doing the same to them" The cook pulls away from the two of you but takes your hand giving a smile "Lets forget about him for now" Pulling the two of you along Sanji walks down the path wanting to enjoy some time with his partners, a smile appears on your face as you pick up your pace happily joining the two, the swordsman squeezes the cooks hand following behind. The time away from the ship is much calmer, the three of you pick fruit, herbs and flowers placing them in your backpacks to be sorted out later, you find a few glowing flowers that have seeds in them so make sure to pick them up as well.
Zoro leans against a tree keeping an ear out for any danger while watching his two partners work, Sanji picks up a small daisy like flower that glows your favorite color when he brushes the petals with his fingers, while your holding down a branch picking the fruit that easily comes away and placing it in your backpack. The cook walks over to you waiting until your done and let go of the branch to get your attention "My love" He whispers behind you his eyes soft as you hum in a questioning tone turning to face the cook. Sanji tucks your hair behind your ear before placing the flower neatly in your hair, a smile forms on his face as his fingers brush over the petals the glow string enough to to reflect on some of your face. "Perfect" He whispers making your heart melt at his actions, who need heart eyes when you have this. Stepping closer you run your hands up his chest and to his shoulders while placing a soft kiss on his lips "Your too sweet" You whisper against his lips as his hand rests on your hip the other still lightly touching the petals to keep them lighting up your hair and face in your favorite color. The swordsman can't help but smirk at the two of you while biting his tongue, he so badly wants to comment on how much of a sap the cook is and how cute you look, but he doesn't want to ruin the moment for the two of you, although once its over its fair game. Sanji leans down lightly kissing your lips while his thumb strokes your hip, happily kissing back you bring your hands around his neck holding him close to you letting a small hum leave your lips.
Pulling away the cook he takes your hand starting to walk back down the path again "Zo, belt" Sanji calls out earning a groan from the swordsman who follows behind the two of you and grabs your belt as to not get lost, trying to hold you laughs back becomes harder and harder every time you look back to see him either groan, pout or mumble under his breath in annoyance. "Stop it" Zoro walks right up behind you to growl in your ear making you jump slightly but keep walking trying to speed up a bit to give you some space but the green haired man grins following close behind "Stop what?" You ask feigning innocence as his hand tightens on your belt stopping you from walking so fast "Laughing at me, this is yours and the cooks stupid idea so don't make fun of me" Zoro growls a light blush spreading across his cheeks out of embarrassment, Sanji snickers under his breath while turning his head away trying not to laugh but the swordsman shoots him a glare "We'll if you didn't get lost all the time we wouldn't have to put measures in place" The cook shrugs letting out a few little laughs "I don't get lost" Zoro yells letting go of your belt and balling his fist up at his sides, you stop in your tracks to face him fully giving the swordsman a deadpan looks "Zoro… Which is left?" You ask seeing him raise an eyebrow at you before pointing the wrong way, a smile forms on your face as you grab his hand and attach it back onto your belt "Point. Made" You state turning on your heals and walking again forcing Zoro to follow.
Sanji bends over holding his stomach as he laughs but tries to follow the best he can "What? that.. that wasn't left?" Zoro gulps looking over at the cook with a fully red face, Sanji pats the swordsman on the back finally managing to control his laughter and shake his head, growing overly embarrassed Zoro yells into his hand in frustration before cursing out making you and Sanji laugh again, you feel sorry for him but you hope he knows your doing this for his own good. A few hours later the three of you make it back onto the Sunny with full bags, the first person you see is Usopp laying on the grassy deck sweat pouring down his face "I'll see you in the kitchen" You sigh placing a kiss on Sanji's cheek before turning to Zoro and doing the same but the swordsman wraps an arm around your waist not wanting to leave you alone but you place another kiss on his cheek "I'm just going to check on him and then i'm heading straight to the kitchen, i promise" You pat his chest trying to reassure the man, it seems to work since he lets out a sigh while squeezing your waist before letting you go and taking your backpack full of food off you "Usopp, then Kitchen nothing else, if Percy comes by you call" Zoro firmly states placing a kiss on your forehead, Sanji rubs your back placing a kiss on your cheek "I'll make you something cold to drink my love" The cook smiles at you walking off with Zoro close behind, giving him a small wave you head over to Usopp and stop next to him seeing his tired eyes.
Letting out a small laugh at his state you lean over him blocking the sun from hitting his burning face "You ok there bud?" You ask starting to get a little worried for him, the sniper groans looking up at you his chest heaving slightly "How?… How do you do it all?" He asks making you tilt your head in confusion, it takes a short while for it to hit you that he's talking about your chores from yesterday but you shake your head and help him sit up putting his arm around your shoulder "You didn't have to do them all in one go, don't tell me you did your own at the same time" Hoisting the long nosed man to his feet you walk him to the stairs knowing he needs something to drink "I wasn't supposed too?" Sighing at Usopp's words you shake your head helping him up the stairs and into the kitchen, Sanji smiles wide rushing to greet you only to stop at seeing Usopp's burning face, the cook gives you a hand taking the long nosed man to the sofa and laying him down. "I'll make you a drink… my love, your drink is ready" Sanji sighs shaking his head at the sniper before turning to you with a smile walking you over to the counter where you take a seat next to Zoro who's sipping on his own drink. The cook slides your cold drink over to you before starting to make another but keeps his eyes on you as you take a drink feeling the cold liquid run down your throat. Humming in delight your eyes meet Sanji's who's waiting for your verdict on the drink "Perfect as always darling" You comment making his heart thumb faster in his chest.
Taking the new drink he walks around the counter and places a light kiss on your lips "My love, it warms my heart to hear your praise" Sanji whispers against your lips his eyes full of love for you, reluctantly he pulls away from you to bring Usopp his drink and help the poor tired sniper drink it. Watching him leave you happily sigh feeling your chest warm up despite the cold drink, you let out a small squeak as your stool is pulled across the floor by Zoro who makes sure your pressed up next to him before wrapping an arm around your waist and letting his thumb rub your hip "Any trouble?" The swordsman asks looking you over while his hand taps his now empty glass, you can tell he's still a little anxious so to reassure him you place your hand on his cheek placing your lips on his. "None at all, other than Usopp overworking himself" you giggle placing another kiss on his lips, the swordsman hums into you placing more kisses on your lips before nipping at your lower lip wanting more, opening your mouth for him Zoro pushes his tongue into your mouth being surprisingly gentle. Enjoying his touch you don't notice Sanji coming back over his smile still bright while watching his partners, pulling away from his kiss you try and catch your breath as Zoro gives you a smirk. The cook places his head in between the two of you laying his chin on your touching shoulders, a chuckle leaves the swordsman before placing a kiss on the blondes cheek "Will you come back to us tonight?" Sanji reluctantly asks, but he needed to know, with a smile you lean into the cook while taking Zoro's hand "Of course, i love you both"
Aqualad: most underrated Young Justice story
Just wanted to kind of layout how interesting his story was as I feel of the OG team his reserved personality makes him not stand out over the rest and some only thought he was interesting when playing the bad guy in season 2
Aqualad a young adopted kid training to be the next Aquaman with his best friend, and is in love with a girl. But he takes the opportunity to be Aquaman’s sidekick which takes him away from his best friend and crush
Only for him to come back in some months just to find that his best friend got with his crush…
And he has to essentially still save the day and be the hero, come to terms that he lost her due to his “job” while not being upset at them the arguably two closest people in his life
Like this is in any other medium is a movie in itself
Add through season 1 he’s the leader of a bunch of interesting personalities and was like the calm big brother of the team
Then in the time skip, his crush joins the team meaning he can finally spend the quality time with his crush he had to sacrifice before, and it’s a bit unclear if they ever got together during this time but on the mission she dies on your watch…
Not much time later you find out that your mentor/King’s enemy is your biological father so dealing with all these emotions is again it’s own movie itself
Not even going to go into the whole double agent thing in season 2 that people already like
But then one of your best friends Wally dies and you’re thrusted back into the job as your other best friend grieves his own way leaving mostly on your own
Then in season 3 he does it he becomes Aquaman he’s another leader of the Justice league everything is going seemingly fine
But does fall too deep with the secrets again…
And between seasons 3&4 he finds a new love
But all this time his first issue keeps coming back of balancing work and life which is how he lost Tula before and how he perceives to have lost Superboy until later revealed he’s fine
Idk I think Kaldur has the sneakily best story through the show in total
Characters like Nightwing adjust with each season more to fit that season's story than something overarching, and Miss Martian will always have her identity problems and so on but I feel the others weren’t as detailed as Kaldur I feel
I’m just saying you could easily make an amazing movie animated or real life about Kaldur the secret son of a villain learning under a hero and on the way has to juggle the problem of hero and villain and work and life and love or duty
You would literally just need to adjust his hero name tbh as I don’t think general audience will wanna watch a movie called Aqualad tbf
Like Garth got the Tempest alternative when he’s not Aqualad either swap that as Garth is still kinda seen more as Aqualad due to comic history and teen titans or just give him a new name as a character like Tim Drake will probably always be Robin primarily but he still has a couple of alternate names he can go by
Random but I kinda of like Tide, from Tidal Wave or Rising Tides or a play on his comic counterpart Jackson Hyde
And for visuals Kaldur has the Atlantean magic that Aquaman doesn't have so he can water bend for a more interesting power set as Aquaman is basically just super strong with no aquatic life around
Plus can generate electricity has weapons etc. giving him a mix of Queen Mera and someone like Robin
Idk I just feel that this version of Aqualad you could make its own version of the story just about him and be well received by a majority
