here i am. asking you. about andretti green racing from 2003-2005. 👀?

OHHHH BOY JASMINE THANK YOU FOR ENABLING ME!!!!! (there’s gonna be a slight essay down here but not too long).

what can i say about agr’s lineup of wheldon, herta, franchitti and kanaan…..well, the 2003-05 lineup of andretti green racing was honestly magical…. between these years, they emassed 1 indy 500 victory (wheldon in 2005), 2 consecutive championships (kanaan in 2004 and wheldon in 2005), and 20 race victories as a team. those stats are INSANE for any era to me, but especially as this was during the time when CART was waning as some of their teams (including AGR) left for the indy racing league/indycar.

not only was the success amazing, but these four guys were genuinely just best friends. you can tell they really loved racing against each other and always celebrated each other’s wins. here’s some photos from AGR’s 1-2-3-4 podium sweep at the 2005 GP of st petersburg:

and dan, bryan and michael andretti from the 2005 indy 500:

in 2006, wheldon left AGR for CGR and was replaced by a young marco andretti, essentially dissolving the AGR dream team lineup of 2003-05.

by 2011, no members of the AGR dream team (as they are called) were still with andretti autosport (as it was now called); herta now led his own team, bryan herta autosport; dario was driving for CGR, and TK was driving for KV racing technology. in 2011, dan won his second indy 500, driving for bryan’s team, but that same year dan unfortunately lost his life in a racing accident.

since then, all three of the remaining members of the AGR dream team have taken up roles within teams (herta works as the strategist for the #27, plus the second indy 500 win for his team with rossi, dario works with CGR, and TK works with arrow mclaren).

i would also heavily recommend watching the lionheart (2024), which details dan wheldon’s racing career and has a lot of old AGR content plus interviews with each of the members and michael andretti!!!!

ok, tell us Ciara, why do we hate Kyle Larson?

my main problem with larson is that he used a racial slur. yes, i’m aware he went through sensitivity training, but it’s the same reason why i don’t want juri vips in indycar. even though you apologized, it doesn’t remove the stigma of you saying the word.

the main other thing i dislike is how honestly overhyped he was at the indy 500, to the point where an ACTUAL, FULL-TIME DRIVER was overlooked as indy 500 ROTY (christian rasmussen, who finished higher than larson), and yet larson STILL was named ROTY for his high qualifying position in the arrow mclaren car. i also just personally don’t think he brings anything good to the indy 500 or indycar and there are TONS of other nascar drivers who would be way more deserving of running the double

also, he thinks he’s the greatest driver on planet earth which simply isn’t true 😬

If I may yap about Nascar, I really like a lot of voices these guys have. Carson with the world's softest voice and has the second cutest voice (first goes to my blorbo Cbell), Chase's Georgian accent ily so much, Me and Joey having similar accents due to being from Northeastern states, Bubba sounding like my step grandma etc. And there's also the comms!!!! The Southern accents of the Nascar comms my beloved <3333. Anyway yeah so many of these guys have such nice voices and they should record an audiobook or something because I can listen to them forever

HONESTLY PAIGE YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THIS….the driver’s accents and voices are honestly appealing. Like maybe it’s because i have no real accent and it’s interesting to hear various accents from the drivers since they’re all from different places, but I honestly find it so intriguing!!! And YES I am in love with Carson’s voice….him and Cbell def have the most adorable voices…like you mean this guy who is almost 30 but doesn’t look it and this tall ass 21 year old both have soft voices? Yes, yes they do!!!!

i have quite literally ZERO (0) opinions on ed but never let it be said i'm not a loyal bitch. you say we're in our 'hating ed' era? then i will show up with painted signs that say 'down with ed' and 'step on carp-enter'

but yeah we’re in our hating ed era on this blog. like not only do i think he doesn’t have it as a driver anymore but with the way the article that announced rinus’ departure from ecr was worded reads like he was FIRED by ECR rather than a “mutual parting of ways”. which…..firing the guy who was your best driver over the time he’s been with you is definitely a move alright!!! definitely doesn’t scream ed is senile and needs a cash cow to drive his car!!!!!!!!!!

if i get to go to laguna seca next year ill bring a sign that says “ed carpenter’s lost newgarden, veekay, and his mind”
