Thinking about how Warden Mahariel asked for a boon from the rulers of Ferelden, for the Dalish to be given sovereign lands and was denied.

Thinking about Warden Tabris asking for Shianni to become the first elven noble, and how she was murdered in the epilogue slides.

Thinking about how Lavellan is the only elf who is a public political figure.

Thinking about how Briala can attempt to empower the elves from the most precarious situation where she has to joint rule with Celene and/or Gaspard of all people.

Thinking about how making Leliana divine was the most tangibly good thing you could do for the situation of the elves.

Thinking about the viddathari, elves who join the Qun so that they can be treated with some form of dignity.

You can have a world state where you do literally everything possible to help the elves and it's just a drop in the ocean. So of course elves are vanishing from society en masse to join Solas' cause because it appears to them as the only option they have to change the social order. Even if Solas is just using his followers for his own personal crusade, with everything we know about Thedas it's just a no brainer.

But no, we don't need any of that because now we have the Veil Jumpers, a loose coalition of elves and non-elves that is comprised of citizen archeologists who excel at getting lost in the woods and blowing themselves up.

it had been a few weeks since you and rafe had publicised your relationship. he very clearly didn’t have much experience with the whole affectionate stuff all he knew was that he liked it.

because rafe was wayyy smarter than you, you unfortunately was put into different classes but you met him after every single one. today was one of those days where rafe walked up to your math class to meet you after.

“hi baby” your greeted as your threw yours arms around his neck, pulling him in close. rafe could feel her tits press against his chest, making his mind go blank. he was so used to being the invisible nerd that he still couldn’t believe you where his girlfriend.

“what’s wrong baby?” you teased him pouting.

“yeah i’ll come over are we gonna study i’ve got a AP calculus test coming up.” you nodded before taking his hand in yours and walking. his heart skipped a beat another public display of affection that made his knees week. although it had been going on for a week rafe was only just getting used to it. he felt like he was always permanently red with blush.

your favourite thing to ever do is tease rafe about this. you acted oblivious to his red cheeks, beating heart, sweaty palms and stuttering.

A wonderful, wonderful question! I am very happy to share. I will answer each question individually with images provided alongside.

Although perhaps a simplistic choice, I would have to go with the Saddleback Caterpillar Moth (Acharia stimulea) as my favorite moth. The adult forms of them, even if deemed "plain" by some, are utterly captivating and identifiable—not to mention that their wings can grow up to 30 millimetres in length. The larvae are even more interesting to look at... although, make sure that you're only looking, as they carry hairs that contain irritating venom. Quite the beautiful species, if I do say so myself!

As for the choice of the most beautiful, I am torn between two options: the Atlas Moth, and the Oleander Hawk-Moth. Both have absolutely stunning forms both as a larva and as an adult. The Oleander Hawk Moth's wings take a sharp shape akin to one of an airplane, whereas the Atlas Moth is an exceptionally large species with a wingspan of up to 27 centimeters! I am in awe simply looking at these photos. If I were to enter a room with both of these at the same time, I may drop dead in a heartbeat. I am not being dramatic. My system will very literally go into overload and I will die.

Finally, for the most interesting, I would have to choose the Hummingbird Hawk-Moth. The name is quite fitting, as they not only speed across your line of vision at a speed of up to 85 beats per second (incredible in comparison to the hummingbird's speed of 80 beats per second!), but also consume nectar from their long, straw-shaped proboscis, which functions quite similarly to the hummingbird's tongue. It is a prime case of convergent evolution!

(Additionally, I agree! Cipher can, to put it bluntly, go fuck himself.)

You’ve intrigued me about the topic since I’ve never heard of the Priori Incantatem effect before. I was helping Mr Olivander out this weekend, as usual, so I could ask him about it. Quite a fascinating subject. How did you get to know about it?

I came to the conclusion that, even though I would like to witness that phenomenon, I don’t think we will be lucky enough.

It is very rare and occurs only when two wands that have magical cores deriving from the same source (in our case, from the same dragon) are used against each other. As you can see, we can ignore the similarity of the wood material of our wands. But the chances of them having the heartstrings of the same dragon are very slim, too. 

Wandmakers are aware of the effect and take a range of precautions to minimise it. But even if we don’t take this into account, Mr Olivander aims to craft unique wands that fit a wide variety of people, so he generally avoids using identical source material. Even if he does, it might be decades that separate the initial making of a wand from the time it chooses a person it wishes to bond with, which reduces the chances for twin wands to meet.

Imagine how many Hogwarts students buy their wands from Olivander, who primarily uses only three types of wand cores. Still, Crossed Wands or just duels within DADA lessons operate without surprises like that. I don’t see how we can be an exception. 

That being said, if you just want to knock some sense into me, you don’t need to find an excuse to duel me. I will be waiting for you near the Black Lake today after the classes.

funniest thing happened the other day. i accidentally stumbled upon this person's hate posts about me. let it be known: they hate me because as a head mod on a rp site i told them to stop harassing people who came to me with screenshots showing proof. they were also asked to stop making rape jokes but because they are autistic and don't understand social cues, i was actually bullying them for asking them to stop (their words, not mine)

the part that floored me about the hate though...was that they said i gatekeep the hamlet fandom... idk how to make this a short story but it's just so bizarre to me because in my rp server i: streamed different versions of hamlet for anyone interested, hosted a reading of hamlet and cast everyone interested as the various parts, shared my resources and interesting essays i'd found, tried to convince them to app a character from hamlet whenever they expressed interest... and then, here on tumblr, where they used to follow me, i posted: my hamlet playlist, a growing playlist of ANY song remotely relating to hamlet, links to adaptations, links to essays/how to approach the text for beginners, my growing list of retellings/adaptations/novelizations of hamlet in novel format...literally all i want to do is talk to people about hamlet...

so, how did i gatekeep? well....their friend tried to apply to rp a character from the play and openly admitted that they had never read/seen the play...so the rest of the staff and i were like "that is against the rules, you must actually read/see/ect the play before playing a character from it" which i felt was pretty reasonable at the time! now, of course, i'm not so certain! should a person have to partake of the source material before writing/playing a character from it? no but for real, it was a crazy time and finding this on another rp site literally is sending me into orbit but like...in a fun way because i can now see the extent of this person's vague grip on reality

I think it's extremely likely that the language of the Ancients (aka "ween-woon") doesn't use gendered pronouns at all.

That's not to say that gender identity wasn't a thing. I'm guessing the Ancient concept of gender may have been a little more flexible, and their command of magic likely made transition a trivial matter, but I assume gender in general was still A Thing.

However, given Ancient society's extreme emphasis on conformation and minimizing obvious personal differences to avoid conflict, I think it would make perfect sense for them to do away with gendered pronouns altogether. Linguistically, this is far from unprecedented; there are real-life languages such as Tagalog which don't use gendered third-person pronouns. In this case, though, it was probably a deliberate decision, rather than a natural evolution of language, and I think it makes perfect sense with everything else we know about the Ancients.
