AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!  

there was an idea;  Superhumans have always existed.  Be it through science, genetics, an accident, or any other combination of events that lead to what would otherwise be an ordinary person gaining extraordinary powers, they exist, they have always existed, and there are more in the world than just six people standing between the earth and certain destruction.  That fact becomes painfully apparent after the Chitauri Invasion, led by Loki, Asgardian god of Mischief.

The Avengers are located in Stark Tower, the easiest to find, but there are more.  The Fantastic Four reside in the Baxter Building, after gaining unbelievable powers in a cosmic storm.  Doctor Strange has hold over the Sanctum Sanctorum, on Bleecker Street.  Charles Xavier runs his school for gifted children, and the X-Men exist in an uneasy balance in a world that more than half hates them.  The Inhumans have Attilan, under the guidance of Black Bolt and Medusa.  The Defenders are the street level defense, intermingling at times with any and all of the other groups when it’s needed.  There are numerous solo acts and pairs, underground groups no one’s ever heard of, all pulling on the trademark clothing that marks them as a superhero when the sirens wail down the streets and the codes come in over the police band, meting out justice one super punch at a time.  Alliances will form.  Alliances will fall.   Supervillains will crop up by the dozens, earth-destroying cataclysms will need to be averted, the very stars above will open up and offer new allies and threats.  But it’s the superhumans that are the future, and the future is now.

called the avengers initiative;  Avengers Assembled is an mcu-based group verse that will both unite the various Marvel franchises (Deadpool, X-Men, The Gifted, The Inhumans, Fantastic 4, Avengers) in one place, and will also rewrite the history of Earth-199999, erasing the Marvel continuity after the first Avengers film and building our own.  The idea is that villains will not be neatly wrapped up with a little bow, certain facets presented in the MCU may be tweaked to more resemble their comic counterparts (such as AIM, the Extremis virus, and so forth), and that with all of these groups existing in the same place at the same time, there will be friendships and frictions among them, and among themselves.  What it is not is a recreation of either 616 or the MCU, but rather...An alternate reality.  A direction things could have gone in had certain facts been in play that were not during the MCU as a whole with influences beyond SHIELD and the Avengers.

You don’t have to be comic familiar, as this is not a comic-based group verse.  We’re doing our own thing, it’s chill, it’s chill.

i kinda lost my previous post about tagging datv spoilers but i was gonna tweak it anyway. quick and dirty on what to expect for the rest of january:

my remaining blogs ( @blightoath, @wittyrogue, @magistheir, @spitedriven, @daxassan, @vannhawke, @tviburar ) will have lots of discussion of the games, generally pertaining to my interpretations of characters, their personal canon, and events prior to datv untagged. if you consider this spoiler territory, you've been warned.

the blogs in #2 might also discuss plot points. the only spoiler tagged things in text at this point will be end game choices and post-game outcomes until 31 january.
