Minor work today since most people are already away on CNY break! Side rant: my AW did not give me my custom January challenge 😤 So I did the New Year challenge instead.

I like using my AW because of this specific reason. I noticed that I've exercised more regularly after getting one few years back.

Was barely working today until 2121 called me to join him on his lunk break so met up with him at OU and had Nando's.

Also today bought tickets for myself and my folks since Dad wants to meet his cousins over in 🇮🇩 Low key nervous.

30th January 2025, Thursday Listening: Whistle for the Choir, The Fratellis

Today 2121 reminded me of Duolingo which I have long abandoned for years and I felt bad so I started where I last left. But the Chinese tracing of the hanzi characters are so time consuming 😩 Im having fun learning German.

Also today succumbed to a pair of white Chucks which were on sale on Shoppee! I've always wanted one so I bite the bullet and bought them with some of my birthday money hehe.

Finally we've hit the final day of January. As a January baby, it felt like it flew by way too fast. But for others, the month seems to feel forever 😂

Also today had the sudden hankering for Taco Bell so I ordered it via Grab. I had an intense taco phase couple years back which made me stop for awhile but now I think it's slowly creeping back 😂

20th January 2025, Monday Listening: Breathing, Ben Böhmer

Off day! Started the day with Petrosains! 2121 played a lot while I was just walking around trying to read stuff on the display but it was just.. not my thing? I guess I enjoy looking at paintings or going for shows instead of this. But I still had fun seeing 2121 hyped up 😂

Fun!

HOWEVER, we wasted our time on the road because the place we wanted to go to for lunk ended up being closed. Traffic was bad because it was peak hours. Ended up having late lunk at Pasadena and I tried their dipping burger which surprisingly did not leave me gassy despite eating their muffins. Even though it was tasty, I think I'll stick with my usual Boston.

Afterwards decided to go to OU, initially just for coffee, but ended up having a Zanmai dins!

21st January 2025, Tuesday - Happy birthday to Uncle Azlin! 🎂 Listening: Backwater, Meat Puppets

Still on leave! Since 2121 had to leave for his Dad’s birthday dins after Asar, we went out earlier for lunk at Macha & co. But first, dropped off my "recyclables" which were my old law books & statutes. RIP potential law career. I am officially done. Im sorry Ma & Ba.

We were walking towards Lotus’ for my groceries when we passed by Habib. I've been meaning to replace the ring I received from my Mom years ago, which I lost (or possibly stolen, because it went missing from my office desk. Im the kind of person who takes off all jewelry on my fingers whenever it's crunch time and I need to FOCUS). But thankfully the RA showed another ring which looked so much similar so I settled on that one. But had to have it re-sized because my finger is too thin (Im a ring size 5 or 6 😩). Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow! I know I need it replaced soon before Mom noticed that I haven't been wearing it.. At least from afar, it looks similar to the old ring 😅

My fault for not fully preparing myself for my 11am presentation so my heart was racing like crazy 😵‍💫 But thankfully survived both my morning & afternoon briefings.

Highlight of the day was picking up the ring from yesterday! It looks so much better once it actually fits my finger 😍

Tapao-ed Shihlin for dins. I should’ve only bought the sweet potato fries and not the chicken. It was wayyy too much.

Received back-to-back parcels today! My purchases from Shoppee and my purchase from rubyuzi's contact which was a deadstock Deepset t-shirt, thank you to amirul! Unfortunately the dress from Shoppee turned out looking nothing like in the picture. But what do I expect from something so cheap anyway, right? Bleah. But can't wait to gift the Deepest tee to 2121 😊

Thosai sardine from Jamal in the a.m. because I was surprisingly hungry but I only managed to eat half of it. Had a 9-11am calls and I think I did alright for my briefing to our counterparts in Thailand, good job, self!

& then of course highlight of my Fridays is dins with Gege! Tonight we had Kantan and it was perfect because it was raining so the soup daging really hit the spot!

Later that night something came up but I hope we're over it.

Fulfilling day, chores-wise! Laundry in the morning & then continued vacuuming upstairs + dad’s office + parents’ room. Then finally took a shower before leaving to Citta for grocers to get my snacks & also tamar for Dad, went to Ace for a lighter & its refill, and also grabbed guavas because I love guavas. Hit the drive-thru for lunk, reached home around 3pm, settled laundry 😮‍💨

Started the day late today. We went to Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Memorial and it was exciting to me because as a student I truly enjoyed Malaysian Studies, and Tunku's journey for our independence gave me literal chills. I cannot imagine being a part of it. What a legend 😮‍💨

Ended the day at Bangsar where we had Bala's and I tapao-ed Kuke for home ❤️

Work went by fast because we were so busy, even my boss didn't have time to check on my deck that I (last minute) prepared until 430am last night. Yes, I only had 2 hours of sleep, this has got to stop this year 😵‍💫

I started purging since 3am last night, it was insane!! I could only fell asleep after 6am. Texted my boss at 4am to skip work.

At 10am finally got the energy to get out of bed and thankfully Dad was in so I made him drive me to the clinic. AND THE CLINIC TOOK FOREVER.

I just slept whole day and did not open my work laptop at all which was probably the first time for me. Damn you food poisoning!! I narrowed it down and I highly believe it was caused by this drink from 7-Eleven;

NEVER AGAIN!

Food poisoning day 2. Felt a bit better but still nauseated hence had to call in sick again which annoyed my boss (I could tell based on his text reply to me) but hey, I don't live just to work, okay?

Tried to swallow bubur but it went back out. Had to log in for work towards the end of the day anyway. Sigh..

My morning was spent on a call over my 2 days of absence 💆🏻‍♀️ After Zohor I left to the office to continue work & YY was in too so I got company. They visited Nat yesterday at Pantai, I hope Nat gets a speedy recovery.

After work went to 21’s, maghrib-ed at kwasa before ending up in OU because I wanted boat noods & also wanted to check if cinnabon’s open (it hasn’t). Unfortunately I still feel nauseated from my stomach bug so post-dins was a cranky one :(

Late to the very first meeting with Nels because of my still upset stomach 😩

Ive been so hungry but so scared to eat but I succumbed to buying cookies via Grab which costed me rm50 😔 I hate it when temptation won, it makes me feel weak. Be better, self! But I bought an extra cookie to bring to Gege’s!

For tonight's Friday dins, we went back to Khatija after a string of "fancier" places lol. Since my stomach is STILL acting up, I ordered bihun soup but it was spicy 🌶️ Thankfully managed to control my system I until we reached home..

Oh yeah somebody finally bought my stupid T-Mart coach jacket! Thank God & good riddance!

Also, happy Severance day!

18th January 2025, Saturday Listening: Sleeping In, The Radio Dept.

Mom accompanied Dad to kebun again today so Ive got the house to myself. Started the morning with laundry as usual, packed up the Carousell parcel and left to J&T before tapao-ing lunk at the drive-thru. Another load of laundry before finally sitting down for lunk while watching Hannah Ricketts 😬 Vacuumed downstairs, cleaned the standing fans, and my initial plan was to continue with the cleaning but I got frustrated after failing to close the grill cover of one the standing fans, it took me 15 minutes of tries until I eventually gave up on everything! Wanted to take a nap before going out to get the car washed but I ended up recording a video of the dunks that Gege surprised me with last week! 😄🎁. It was raining anyway so had to wait awhile until it stopped before finally getting the car washed, petrol filled and ready for tomorrow's drive!

2121's out on a footie match tonight so I spent it "editing" the video I filmed in the afternoon and now it's up! 😄

Driving the folks to Perak today! I LOVE driving. I honestly prefer to drive than be driven. Im definitely NOT a passenger princess 😅

I love seeing my Dad happy to meet up with his cousins. He is actually quite close with everyone! Stopped by sg buloh jejantas before home because Mom wanted satay. She is the cutest ❤️

Despite my 2 days of food poisoning, my 3rd week of the year was great!

Otw back we stopped by Mitsui, it was my first time and I thought of doing some shopping but nothing caught my fancy and I ended up only buying new ear studs from Lovisa 🤷‍♀️

As a nightcap, he spent me dessert at Sik Thong Ba, the durian was SO good! Fun day! 🥳

Stayed home all day today cleaning and vacuuming the house while my parents went to kebun. My late lunk was thosai sardine Jamal because I was suddenly craving,

..but it wasn't as great because they probably used off-brand sardine hence the taste was meh.

Woke up to pressies from my folks and Gege! I think I turned out okay despite the constant self-deprecation and imposter syndrome that I am certain everyone has at some point of their lives. I may be too old and I definitely do NOT have what most people my age have, but everyone's rizq is different and I am aware of my own privileges. I still feel very blessed and Im grateful everyday. Hamdulillah.

Friday night dins on me tonight hehe.

Also solved the "secret admirer" bouquet mystery later in the night, the pretty flowers were sent by Nisa 😂💐

Drew this as a dedication to my small unit ❤️

My Ikea parcel arrived! I actually bought a lot of things but these are my favourites;

After work, went to pick up the kain I had made at the tailor's and I think it goes well with both the baju Kedah that Nisa got us last year, and the new baju Kedah that I got from shoppee real cheap. Cute, no?

Tomorrow is my birthday and Im going to make a single diary update for it :) Blessed week so far, hamdulillah!

4th January 2025, Saturday - Happy birthday to Sarah! 🎂 Listening: Skip to the End, The Futureheads

Fun Saturday! Gege came by in the a.m. and despite me telling Mom that I won't be lunking at home, she still tempted me to eat together by buying patin tempoyak for lunk, and I couldn't resist 😂

So for my second lunk, 2121 and I went to Beard brothers because it has been awhile! I also wore my new pink shirt today 🌸

And then we went to Sogo 😂 To him, Sogo is his childhood. Whereas to me, Sogo is nostalgic because my very first job was at the building just opposite it so that area was my lunchtime "playground". It's so funny to see how they haven't changed much since the last time I worked in the area. But apparently it has changed a LOT since he was a kid.

Ended the night with some light meal of chicken at hotbird because we weren't that hungry but still wanted munchies.

Spent the day with Mom. Supposed to get cracking on my deck but I just got distracted by housework. Also I need to reset my head (if it's possible?) to be more productive work-wise during the day instead of only getting ideas late at night..
