Disclaimer to all this I'm ablebodied so please tell me if I overstep:

Hmmm what if the rubilax arm doesn't make tristepin "magically abled again", and tristepin at one point trains to swordfight without it because even if in his own words he isn't as good at swordfighting without it he still wants to defend himself against strong enemies if say he lost rubilax.

Maybe armless isn't as swift with the sword as he was before when he had 2 arms but he still manages to improve his abilities from season 3 in his way and his disability is more aknowledged.

Maybe he gets phantom pains ..

The rest of the brotherhood, even rubi are very supportive and try to accomodate their friend as best as possible and think he's cool as shit, especially his kids.

Maybe Ruel has some extra kinship cause as we've seen in some episodes his shovel/staff aids his moving so as an older disabled guy he gives advice to the younger one even if their disability isn't the same..

About Qilby & Nora AKA That Ain’t My Wakfu Part 2

I’mma lay it down straight cuz here’s where I lose it.ToT

So you didn’t wanna write a story about the eliatropes? Fine

So you didn’t wanna write a story about the Mechasms? Fine you wouldn't have had to, IF THE MAJOR THEMES of the main story is so jarring WHY NOT JUST HAVE QILBY EXPLAIN IT IN LIKE 1 EPISODE or something, if they could make some minutes of a montage about the Nora goddess thing then ToT could’ve just easily done THAT but instead dedicate 1 episode where Qilby just straight up explains about the eliatropes, what the Mechasms are and by that what exactly the eliacube was BECAUSE HE CAN he’s the only one who remembers everything & knows about everything(except the Nora stuff) anyway by doing that the show wouldn't have all these unanswered questions and ToT could’ve wrapped the story of wakfu up since it’s clearly not something his interested in and gone on working on Iop shows or whatever.

He should’ve just skipped the unnecessary side plots W/ Ruel & Percedals. Focused on tying the loose ends finishing the wakfu story and if someone still wanted to make a comic about Yugo & Amalia f*cking SO BE IT.

If only he ended the f*** story like it wasn’t a hard thing to do they had like 4 years but he scrapped the original 2 OVAS for 1 about the Oropos BUT the other one was supposed to be about the main f*cking antagonist of the main f*** character (s people) the Mechasms (people did pay for 2 different 1 suprise ova)

If he doesn’t wanna explain it why why why does he keep planning on using it with Harebourg in S5 (who is also a Xelor with the eliacube now btw..BUT That’s the villan from S1 what the hell?)

that’s just a recylce villan.

How is it supposed to make any sense when we still have no idea what the hell the cube/sphere are? The hell do they come from why even add the line where Qilby says uh..that the Mechasms are testing them and you have to worthy to use the sphere, it was something like that anyway why even have him say that!? If you’re not going to explain the relation the eliatropes has to them (੭ ;´ - `;)੭

But what made me REALLY lose it was when he announced S5 and was like ” yeah we were gonna make an episode about Qilby but..eh u know f*ck it. And I was just like..

I watch her on the sidewalk, her hand intertwined with his as he sways their arms, both of them laughing. I feel the same pain in my heart which I experience each time I see them together.

Each time I see her so happy with someone who isn't me.

He's the one who gets to take her to little dates, click her pictures, surprise her with flower bouquets, when it is supposed to be me. I am the one who should be taking her to little dates, clicking her pictures, and surprising her with flower bouquets.

He kisses her cheek after pulling her closer to him from her waist the same way I used to do. She giggles just the same way she used to do with me. Her eyes sparkle and the most beautiful smile pulls her lips, and my heart used to flutter each time her irises gazed into mine.

But I don't get to experience that anymore. I don't get to see her smiling at me. Instead, each time we come across each other in public, she pretends she doesn't know who I am. Like I don't exist in her world anymore. And her boyfriend makes sure to pull her even closer to him and give me a glare if I even glance at her.

And I completely deserve that. Everything we had went down the gutter because of the way I am.

I slowly open the door to try and make as less noise as I can. I creep up the stairs, each move of mine calculated, but when I peek inside the room, i notice she's awake, sitting on the edge of the bed with her head in her hands.

I notice her body is moving as she is crying, the sobs escaping her silently. I feel my heart break at the sight. What have I done?

"Babe, hey..." I say softly, as I push open the door. She looks up at me, her eyes wide and red. Whenever I used to open the door after coming home from a long day, she would look at me with love in her eyes, but right now, there is nothing close to love in those eyes.

"Don't, just don't-" she whispers, her voice shaky and strained. Her cheeks are stained with her tears, and as she steps away from me, her footsteps are just as shaky as her voice.

"Just hear me out this one time, I was-"

"NO!" She yells, cutting me off. Her yell takes me by surprise, causing me to flinch slightly. "I don't have time for your excuses Rafe, I'm done with you, I'm done with this all. There's nothing you can say or do which can help defend you. Go back to your drugs, and Barry, I don't care," She moves towards her closet and gets a bag, and starts to put all her belongings in her bag.

I want to go ahead and stop her, get on my knees and beg her to not leave me, but my feet remain glued to the ground. I look at my feet, and hear the sounds of her frantically throwing stuff in her bag and trying to stuff it all in.

Suddenly, it is all silent. I look up to see her back towards me, and her arms at her sides. The bag she is stuffing is kept by her side on the ground, its contents spilling out.

"You know what today is?" She whispers.

I look at her back with my eyes wide, trying to comprehend what she is saying. What is it today? I rack my brain for answers but it turns up with nothing.

"It's our five year anniversary," she whispers, "and you promised to take me to Paris, where you and me will get on top of the Eiffel Tower to kiss just as it strikes midnight for today."

I want to jump off a 20 storey building.

This is too much.

I never knew how capable I was of fucking perfectly curated relationships up.

"But you forgot. Just the way you forgot about me. You've forgotten me completely, Rafe. All you care is about stupid shit, about your drugs, and your gold, and whatever the fuck it is. But I know you stopped caring about me a long, long time ago." She turns around now, her eyes looking everywhere but at me. "I waited, waited for as long as I could. I thought you'll come back to me. I thought you'll realise you're in the wrong and you'd want to correct it. But that moment never happened. I was just giving myself false hope." Her voice cracks towards the end and more tears stream down her face. She moves her hand to wipe them, and I have this sudden urge to hold her face in my hands and wipe her tears.

But I've lost all privileges to hold her, fuck, I shouldn't even look at her anymore.

"I'm ending this all here, I cannot hold onto this short thread of a relationship which you cut off so long ago. I need to let go, solely for me and my health." She sniffs and bends down to stuff everything in her bag messily and zip it up. She picks it up and hangs it on her shoulder.

My vision starts to get blurry as tears form in my eyes, as I watch her walk out of this room. These walls saw us share our most intimate moments together, and now they're seeing it all fall apart.

"Bye, Rafe."

Her last words echo in my ears as she leaves this house.

I've lost her forever.

As I watch her walk away with her new boyfriend, I have this urge to rip everything apart and bang my head against a wall until it bleeds.

Since she walked out that door, I have been a mess. I don't know who I am anymore. I was so in love with her, I wanted to marry her. I loved showing everyone that I got the best girl one can ever get. She loved me beyond the human capabilities, and made sure I was doing okay at all times.

My addiction to drugs worsened as I find myself each night either in my home with my cocaine or at some party with as many alcohol cups I can down. And it all continued getting bad when I blacked out from the drug consumption at a party and woke up in a hospital bed.

I lost my entire business, I lost my entire soul. I lost who I am, and at this point, I don't know how I'll continue to live life.

Because I want her.

I want her to hold me and run her hands through my hair, and remind me all is okay.

I want her to kiss my forehead and whisper sweet little nothings in my ear.

I want her to rub her hands on my back and tell me she'll always be there for me.

But I don't deserve anything good in life. And I certainly don't deserve an angel like her.

I will always love her.

The sad thing is that,,,, he does look cool. His cringe charm works on me.

He looks so tense-yet-chill... fgjdfg.

The thing about Joris is that he is 600 and there's very little in this world that actually makes him feel afraid for his life. Though intellectually, he knows that he probably should be scared shitless.

Don't worry though, he is about to feel some capital-letter-f Fear.

I do think that when it's not just him that's in danger, he gets a bit more anxious.

He went from knowing shitfuck about cracklers, mostly being useless during the fight save for one moment, holding onto the train somewhere offscreen for his dear life, saying "CAN YOU TRY DODGING THE ROCKS", to still being alive.

He's probably,, dissociating by now. fsjdkgdf

LEGENDARY Joris moment.

He's so cute... So excited to fish together with Yugo... And the way he casually calls him "Master".

Some important things to know about Joris is that he is petty and hypocritical. YES I believe he's known Eva and Amalia since they were kids, YES I think he cares about them in some way... but I think he likes Yugo more.

Simply because Yugo won't die that fast. He's worth spending time on. He can be a mentor to him ("do as I say, not as I do"), he remembers what it was like — living, spending time together with Lilotte and Simone, and knowing that he was going to outlive them. Knowing that he was going to have to outlive everyone else. And, his childhood ended at 10, while Yugo's ended at 12.

He can't help but look at him and think these things.

I think Joris doesn't exactly look down on mortals, but instead has something much more mentally ill going on there. He can't allow himself to care about people like Amalia and Eva.

The way he looks at Ruel's fishing rod... fjgsfg.

It's so difficult to have relationships with people who aren't childhood friends or his uncle and dad. He can barely talk, or come up with any way to get closer together. So the best way he knows is gift-giving.

A very brief moment of vulnerability, and then —

A casual lil shrug. He's insane. He wants them (especially Yugo) to ask questions so bad. dfgjdkgsfd

And also, OF COURSE Amalia and Ruel know of Khan Karkass! Nerds...

He dropped this lore so, so casually, and then did not elaborate. The true Joris Jurgen approach to building friendships.

Ruel can't count </3 it's 600.

[puts on tinfoil hat] I think Joris is feeling mixed emotions. On one hand, this is Yugo, and Yugo loves his gift. On another hand, he just gave away one of the remaining pieces of his friend. Was it the right choice? Is this worth it?

Setting: Post-Season 4, at Eva and Dally’s house

Genre: Comedy, Fluff, Chaos, Misunderstandings

I. The Setup: One Sister, One Lie, One Baby

Yugo was still dreaming about the night you left.

The stolen kiss.

The warmth of your body against his.

The soft way you whispered goodbye as you left for your one-year mission, promising to return soon.

He waited every day.

He trained harder, took more missions, protected his people, but a part of him missed you—achingly.

Then she appeared.

Charlotte.

Your sister.

A smirk curling on her lips and a baby in her arms.

“Hey Yugo,” she chirped, dropping the child into his arms before he could blink. “This is your kid.”

“…What?” he blinked, looking down at the little boy blinking curiously up at him.

“Yeah. Reader told me to bring him to you but said not to contact her—she’s busy with mission stuff. His name’s Liam, by the way.”

“I have a—wait—my kid?”

“You heard me. Take responsibility. I’ll be back in a bit to pick him up!”

And with a whirl of her cloak, Charlotte ran.

“…What just happened?” Yugo whispered to the baby, who promptly grabbed a fistful of his hair.

II. Operation “What Do I Do With a Baby?”

Yugo did what any emotionally panicked, suspiciously fathered 18-year-old king would do.

He ran straight to Eva’s house.

The Brotherhood was already there when he arrived — perfect.

Eva opened the door and gasped. “Yugo? Is that—wait, whose baby is that?”

Yugo, absolutely pale, muttered, “Apparently… mine and [Your Name]’s?”

There was a silence.

Then, the explosion.

“WHAT?!”

Percedal grabbed the baby first. “Are you sure? You don’t even look like you—okay wait, he kinda has your eyes.”

Ruel: “He has more hair than you did at his age, Yugo.”

Elely: “He’s so cuuuute!! Can I hold him?!”

Yugo held Liam close like a mama dragon. “NO. He’s mine. I mean, he’s [Your Name]’s too. And I have to protect him.”

Amalia narrowed her eyes. “Wait. You and her—did you two…?”

Yugo blushed deep red. “That’s not important! What matters is that we apparently have a baby and I have no idea what I’m doing.”

Eva sighed and motioned him inside. “Sit down. Let the real parents show you how it’s done.”

III. Chaos and Cuteness Ensue

The rest of the day was a comedy of errors.

Liam cried every time someone other than Yugo held him.

Yugo tried to change a diaper. Once. The bathroom is now under quarantine.

Percedal taught Liam how to swing a sword made of spoons.

Elely dressed him in baby Sadida armor and took 500 pictures.

Ruel kept trying to charge people 5 kamas just to look at the baby.

Amalia stood in the corner silently calculating if this meant Yugo was off the market forever.

Yugo, meanwhile, became obsessed.

“Is he too warm?”

“Do babies eat apples?”

“Wait, can he teleport yet—oh no, he disappeared, HE’S GONE—oh wait, he’s behind the couch.”

IV. Charlotte’s Return… And the Truth

Just as Liam fell asleep curled in Yugo’s lap, Charlotte walked back in.

Yugo glared at her with wild, sleep-deprived eyes. “Where were you?! He wouldn’t stop crying!”

Charlotte smirked. “Aw, poor little Yugo. Don’t worry, I’m back to pick him up—”

“Wait, you’re taking him?”

“Well, yeah. He’s my baby brother, remember?”

Yugo blinked. “Wait—your brother?”

Eva, Dally, and Amalia screamed in the background.

Charlotte smiled innocently. “Yeah. You didn’t actually think you and [Your Name] had a secret baby, right?”

He stared. “You—YOU TOLD ME—”

“I said he was yours. Didn’t say I wasn’t lying.”

Yugo looked like he aged 30 years.

V. Later That Night…

You returned that night. Battle-worn, exhausted, and craving a long nap in your own bed.

You walked into Eva’s house to see the entire Brotherhood passed out — Yugo, slumped in a chair, snoring with baby Liam on his chest, and Charlotte, eating a pastry in the corner.

You blinked. “What happened here?”

Charlotte smiled, sipping tea.

“Oh nothing. Just some quality bonding between King Yugo and his son.”

Your eyes narrowed. “Charlotte…”

“Hey, he was getting cocky. This was funny. Look how attached he is now!”

You looked at Yugo — one hand curled protectively over Liam, his mouth barely murmuring your name in his sleep.

Despite everything, your heart melted.

VI. Epilogue: Maybe Someday

Yugo woke up to find you beside him, watching him.

“You’re back,” he said groggily.

“I heard you had a wild day.”

He groaned. “You have no idea.”

You smiled. “He looked good in your arms.”

Yugo blinked. “What?”

You kissed his cheek. “I said he looked good. Almost as good as our real baby might, someday.”

His jaw dropped.

You winked.

Then walked away.

Now he was the one who forgot how to breathe

Okay I need to set things straight AKA That Ain’t My Wakfu Part 1

Okay I done this before but I need to say this about wakfu again, Soo many questions unanswered & I’m Talkin' Bout the real wakfu here mind u, first seasons. I could write a whole novel about it.

I was never a fan of the Ogrest OVAS, I love the concept of Eva/Pinpin as a family but that’s it. Which makes sense since much focus was put into their relationship & character development

unlike other characters… Because the thing with Yugo/Amalia just hits you randomly as hell. I mean last time we saw the gang Yugo found his people right? That was the major goal of the show from episode 1, Alibert tells Yugo to find his real family before turning to ..a bush? Anyway Grougal is even like ”the fate of the world depends on it”= for Yugo to find the eliacube,his people etc and to become the leader they need him to be since they are an alien race stranded on the world of twelve with no one to lead them & nowhere to go. So you would think if the show continiued the next installment would be about Yugo learning all that,

About the cube/ the Mechasms, his folks own history and having to decide on what to do onwards, with Amalia & Co’s help which would also make great moments for Yugo & Amalia’s romance to blossom as they would grow closer during the ordeal (the Percedal family would still be included since they bring their kids along for fights anyway) But make it so Amalia who’s a princess & Yugo a king to be would end up solving the last & biggest conflict together without the Sadida kingdom, the Percedals or Ruel etc, since it would makes sense the 2 of them being in their prime without families of their own deciding to do so.

And as the show goes on it now focuses on Amalia/Yugo and their obstacles as leaders of different people & lovers at the same time instead. Which easily could’ve introduced the rest of the eliatrope council as well since you know THEY & DRAGONS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PART OF YUGO’S PEOPLE! That would’ve been much better and cohesive! than whatever season 3-4 & the whole Oropo thing was, I loathe the whole Oropo/Adamaï freeza rip-off plot with all my being I really do. Then we have S5 introducing Eva’s father who comes out of nowhere, has no impact on the story whatsoever and then just Up ’n’ leaves just for writing Flopin out of the story which was unnecessary cause’ after season 3 the show/story is so of the rails, that if they wanted to focus on Amalia/Yugo why not just leave the Percedals for the rest of the story (the demon possesing the baby is not a plot point it’s never brought up) and put the focus on Amalia/Yugo & the whole eliatrope thing,

As for the unnecessary villan/war Amalia&Yugo would’ve done just fine since they would’ve still had Goultard & Joris on the front line which helped the most while the Percedals fought behind the walls in the show anyway.

the Percedals could’ve just attended the wedding at the end. The whole thing with Flopin and Evas father is just complete filler, time they could’ve used for important stuff for the story. The characters left ( aside from Ruel who didn’t even need an own arc he would help Yugo & Co through anything anyway as always his obsession with money is literally just cuz’ he’s an Enutrof)

What kind of character development happened in season 4 anyway. Amalia became less spoiled? But if you take away season 3 Amalia was already a great character at the end of season 1 she decides to defend her kingdom even if Armant won’t help/ believe in her,

In season 2 she convinces Prince Adale to change war tactics by herself. She didn’t need much development in S2 cause she already proven that she wasn’t just some spoiled princess by the end of S1.

And for Yugo he became less naive S4?? I don’t even know if that’s right, anyway That’s about it right?

Also just some very frustrating points. What da f* happened to Balthazar!?? Wasn’t he in the same place as the children? Yes he was! in both comic & tv-show(all his last appearances)

Since Eliatrope just peaced out where tf is he now?

Also you want me to believe that Pinpin NEVER! Told Eva that he loves her before?? In their entire time of being lovers/married?? No way I would think that after the (almost) latter half of season 1 + THE ENTIRETY of season 2,3 & the Ogrest OVAS makes them out to be a very intimate couple and about how very sensitive Pinpin actually is. Like no way José, uh-uh smh.

February 2024 (comics time)

took me a while to finish this post because i actually had to work, for once.

Kimi ni Nidome no Sayonara wo / Un second au revoir -- Takogawa Takomaru, Tanaka Tomo, French translation by Essia Mokdad

I saw this manga in my local bookshop and i picked it up because the art looked really cool, but it's not the kind of story i usually read: it's a... psychological horror mystery with some supernatural elements? The story begins when a young man goes to the funeral of a childhood friend who had been missing for several years and whose body has just been discovered, hidden for all this time in their old high school. At the funeral, he gets attacked and wakes up in the body of his younger self, a few months before his friend's disappearance.

For me the main appeal is the art and the vaguely homoerotic ultra-toxic friendship, the plot is sometimes a little lacking, a little tropey. At the time of writing, there's still one volume to be published in France at the end of the year and i'm looking forward to the end of the mystery, because i've guessed some parts of it, but there's some time travel shenanigans that still need clarifying. overall i'd recommend it! (although: tw for child abuse & violence)

Country Diary - Haru kara natsu e -- Ishino Aya, French translation by Gaëlle Ruel

Sometimes you read a book and you think the whole time "gosh i wish i was living in this story". A 2 volume series about a university professor who quits his city life to buy an old abandoned house in the countryside, where he befriends a local carpenter and learns to tend his field with the help of his farmer neighbours. Very Story of Seasons, very cottagecore fantasy. A sweet lil story about community and frienship and craft and nature and... idk it's just really cosy and charming.

Blue Period (volume 14) -- Tsubasa Yamaguchi, French translation by Nathalie Lejeune

One of my favourite currently running series, about a fine art student and his art school adventures. Lot of really interesting stuff about art and being an artist. This volume focuses on some of the side characters, who are truly the strength of the story, a big cast of colorful weirdos.

Dungeon Meshi -- Ryoko Kui, French translation by Sébastien Ludmann

Okay unless you've been living under a rock you've probably heard of delicious in dungeon, who was adapted into an anime earlier this year. I'd been meaning to read it for a very long time and after watching the first couple episodes i finally bit the bullet... and binged the whole thing in a couple months. Exactly the Kind of Story I Love : fun fantasy with complex worldbuilding, great characters with complex relationships, expert comedic timing, beautiful art, complex themes in a silly wrapping... can't recommend it enough.

Rivages Lointains -- Anaïs Flogny

A story about gay mafiosi in mid century america. Great art, great ambiance, i just wish there was at least one character i could root for. don't get me wrong i'm all for morally ambiguous anti heroes, but they either need to have some likeable traits or to be fun to hate. These guys are mostly just unsympathetic. I still really liked it tho!

Squire -- Nadia Shammas, Sara Alfageeh, French translation by Florent Degletagne

ooooh this one was really good. it took me a long time to read, because i'd heard great things about it, but it's a thick one, and i was waiting for the right time to read it. Second world fantasy with middle eastern vibes. the authors are palestinian and cisjordanian (if i remember correctly) which add an extra layer on the themes of colonization throughout the story. I loved the secondary characters and i wish they got more time to be developed, but other than that it's a great story that felt extremely relevant.
