Lets talk Epilepsy.
So, I never talk about it however Epilepsy is something that has effected my life but not in the sense that I have it, but it surrounds my everyday life. My mum passed away 2 years ago due to an epileptic fit and it caused what is called SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in an epileptic person) My boyfriend and future husband also suffers severely from it. So my dad is doing the Rust2Rome rally this year and raising money in memory of my mum. I know there are so many generous and helpful people here in the land of Tumblr, so even if you could just share this link with your friends it would be a massive help. Raising awareness for illnesses like these are we get help for them. So please help in anyway.

The Dog Goes To Rome
Craig Smith, Alistair Stewart and Stewart Burnett - 3 Site Fitters from Arbroath have taken part in the Rust 2 Rome Banger Rally, and in the process have raised money for “Help for Heroes”.
To date, this team of 3 have raised £1,450 for Help for Heroes -  AMAZING!
In order to take part in Rust 2 Rome you must buy a car for under £500.  Their car is a 1995 Volvo 850 with 240,000 miles on the clock and what is perhaps even more unusual is the fact that it resembles a dog, to be more exact, the dog which appears in the Dumb and Dumber series of films.
Tumblr media
The body work is completely covered in carpet and has some unusual extras such as a tail, nose, tongue and flapping ears! They guys have scoured scrap yards to salvage parts to make the dog ready for the 4,000 mile round trip. The “dog” definitely turned a few heads as they drove through Arbroath and other parts of Angus at the start of their journey..
Tumblr media
They have set up a facebook page www.facebook.com/TheDogGoesToRome where pictures and videos of the trip have been posted - take a look and support THE DOG!
Their Just Giving Page is https://www.justgiving.com/rust2rome-dog/
- CONGRATULATIONS on completing such a great event and raising such a great amount for Help for Heroes!

Here is a closer look at The Juke. He's a handsome fella'. Look at those seats! Imagine sitting on those for two weeks solid... I personally can't wait. Also, some Dixie Horns to announce to the people of Rome that we have arrived. The people of Rome love a bit of class.

Well after all the obstacles we've overcome in the last few days, including a four-hour, 100mph+ dash to Tangiers today, including a CB-planned, perfectly executed, 3 minute battery swap and jump start, what is it that finally tripped us up? We went to the wrong fucking ferry port. Genius. Fortunately, we were able to swap our France tickets for ones to Barcelona later tonight and will have to make up for it with some long burns up the motorway in the next couple of days. But we do get to cross the Pyrenees though. So beers in Tangiers instead then, and look at the food you get at a Moroccan ferry port instead of the shit we get back home! Oh, and we also passed the loneliest Volvo dealership in all the world, given I haven't seen a single other Volvo since we got to Morocco.

So, erm, after The Pearl's suspension was (sort of) fixed and the big Merc was towed out of the sand by a passing Land Rover, we finally got back to tarmac roads and found the Moroccan National Car museum: basically just a collection of awesome 4x4s. Then we fucked about for a while doing doughnuts in the desert and jumping sand dunes before the real task of actually driving to somewhere set in. Bette and Ger's Subaru were the only ones with the guts to drive to to top of an extinct volcano, and after a couple of significant crunches to the undercarriage I can see why. And now here we are, in a beautiful hotel in the Gorges du Dades with a mere ten hour drive ahead of us tomorrow. And umm... well, I have a whole bottle of wine to finish and everyone else has fucked off to bed. Lightweights.
