If an intelligent person was truly intelligent they would know how to explain things more simply to those not as smart as them, Yang is easy going and she was calm in explaining her traumatic life story to someone who at the time to her was no more than stranger turned teammate turned mutual friend. I think she can explain how to do Charms to a first and second year.

Blake "Broke into highly secured facilities since like 12" Belladonna, who while likes reading, is way too impulsive and thinks with anger in fights and jumps in too quickly without a plan when she's set off and tried talking to an unconscious body while fighting and will tackle racists on sight.

Gryffindor traits: Bravery, Chivalry, Courage, Passionate, Determination, Confidence.

Blake has been fighting for her rights since she was a child and while having a hard time being confident and trusting people about who she was and when she bagan trusting her team and she finally told them about why she was in the White Fang and what it meant to her growing up. Why she leaves everything and everyone in her desire to protect others from her enemies and herself.

Weiss "The Ultimate Ride or Die" Schnee. She knew these girls for like a three months (all of them with some form of criminal record) and immediately goes I will commit several crimes for us to be reunited cause I miss you.

Hufflepuff traits: well-rounded, loyalty, honesty, fairness, hardworking, loving, responsible.

Weiss has worked hard her entire life to be a Huntresses and ever since she became heiress to the SDC she worked to maintain her position. Weiss at first was icy and rude to everyone but when she started trusting her teammates they were given glimpses of what her life was like before Beacon. She didn't want to be known as just Jacques' heiress or second daughter, she wanted to make a name for herself and she did. Not only is she a famous singer but she also an incredibly talented Huntresses. She gives herself and her teammates a chance against tough opponents using her Dust knowledge and her Glyphs which creates an even playing field.

Ruby "Lying to the government" Rose, the girl who left her family with a letter and lead her friends across continents for nearly a year, the girl who was nominated the leader of peers two years older than her because of her ability to think on the fly and utilise everyone's abilities to take down a tough opponent. The girl who impressed the SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE for her resourcefulness.

Slytherin: Loyalty, Self-preservation, cunning, leadership, resourcefulness.

Ruby is the leader of Team RWBY and their main strategist. She makes plans that utilise everyone's strengths and abilities. In the Vytal festival when she wasn't backed by anyone she wasn't worried or scared because Weiss immediately showed up. Either she was stationed close by or she knew that one of her teammates was going to make it to her quickly. She has a lot of faith in her team.

When CRWBY were in Argus and fighting the giant mech she jumped into a gun barrel/canon to deactivate it from the inside and when she tried shooting Cordovin dead in the forehead. Cordovin probably would've died if the glass wasn't reinforced/protected.

When Ruby goes to beat the Leviathan with her Silver Eyes and realises she's not got enough time she calls to Jinn, who would freeze time once she was summoned, to get more time and while Jinn didn't like being called for no reason she approved of the methods Ruby was using. In Atlas Ruby was willing to lie to Ironwood and the government several times (even before that back at Beacon)

My girl Ruby is a Slytherin.

And as much as I give the girl flak for the bad decisions they've made I can't blame them because those decisions are ultimately the writers fault for making their characters static or not characters at all.

RWBY: HOGWARTS AU

*Where the first impression of the girls doesn’t go all the way with the stereotype of their house.

Yang - “the blonde bimbo”, “party girl”, “the brute”, that is a Ravenclaw, who yes, may be laid back, but is the kind of smart that don’t need to study for exams, that is really good as a tutor because she put at ease the students and put complicated process or information in a simpler way, the one who actually listen to teachers talk the theory of whatever they are doing, and also being one of the best dualist in school because her spells are so powerful.

Blake- “the quiet one”, “bookworm”, “Antisocial”, is a Gryffindor, the first one to protest any kind of injustice against muggleborns and magical creatures, who skips classes to gather information for whatever crusade she is in, (she totally will be one of the founder of something like “Dumbuldore Army),  and who (just really close friends known) that she can get away with revenge/pranks because she already knows nonverbal spells.

Weiss- “the icequeen”, “what´s that supposed to mean”, “the heiress”, as a Huffelpuff, like the best in potions of her generation and a rigid prefect, as the most hardworking in whichever she put her mind on,  babytalks like it were cute puppys to almost all magical creatures, (she would totally had a soft spot for the Thestral even if she can’t see them),  loyal to the bone for the ones she loves.

Ruby- “little red”, “dolt”, “such a naive girl”, is the Slytherin……and a little shit, the one who skip a year for being a prodigy with magic, Capitan of the quidditch team (great strategyst) who driven goal is to be the fastest seeker, the one who later on would use any information (provided before) that can give her and her friends advantage in dangerous situations a quick thinker and a very dedicated and inspiring leader.  

-Note: (It may sound like in my descriptions that Ruby is very cold, but I imagine that she would be the biggest twist of a Slytherin, same personality and pure heart as the show, but highlighting the traits that can make her work in that house).

Random Headcanon: if they have like a Quidditch team for hogwarts and games against another magic schools (kind of like triwizard tournament but with more team contenders)

Don't know who needs to hear this, but I said this to my friends and I'm gonna say it on here. Not being able to draw is NOT an excuse to use AI generators. I get wanting to bring whatever character you have in mind "to life" so to speak, but that's what moodboards and descriptions are for. Commission an artist or do what I do - use a browser dress up game. Rinmaru was my go-to and still is (Doll Divine has them now).

AI is genuinely horrible, nothing you get from it is remotely "original." It just takes from actual artists - case in point, whatever crap my friend made with one for their Arcane fanfic. The AI generator took from three artists I recognized and I even showed them the artists' works. I don't know how to fully articulate how upsetting it is seeing people who SHOULD understand AI is just theft still using it.

They write stories and once legit called me crying about someone putting their fanfics through AI chatbots and deleted everything because of it. I don't get it, you know how it feels, so why the hell are you doing it?

What was with Team RWBY being criticized as "bad heroes?"

Like... I've been rereading Harry Potter because I've hoped to reappraise it for myself. Don't worry, I got the books long before J.K. crowned herself Queen of the TERFs.

During this, many plot beats often involve Harry, Ron and Hermoine having to break Hogwarts' rules and risk even Snape's ruthlessness in order to solve a mystery they think they know is going on.

To find the Sorceror's Stone, they use a binding spell on Neville even if they feel bad about it.

They deceive Lockhart, Snape and other teachers to brew a Polyjuice Potion.

Ron, Fred and George steal their family's flying car that their father illegally enchanted to save Harry from the Dursleys who turned his room into a prison cell.

Harry and Ron fly said car to Hogwarts after missing the train, damaging the Whomping Willow in their unhappy landing.

Basically, a lot of this involves the protagonists breaking a whole lot of rule from the school kind to full blow illegalalities enforced by the Ministry of Magic.

And this is a book series that's stood the test of time. Whatever Rowling has become, and it has been nothing short of repulsive, a part of me can see why some cannot "read another book."

Where was I going with this? Well, Harry Potter isn't the only book series or fantasy series where youths have to break the rules of polite society to do what's right.

A Series of Unfortunate Events's main stories are than of the Baudelaires trying to unmask Count Olaf due to their oblivious guardians. To do this, they have to be deceptive to others. This extends to decent people when they become fugitive after Olaf fakes his death.

So... why does RWBY have so many raking it over the coals for this veritable staple of young adult/children's fiction? Defying unfair authority is honestly all the more relevant as more wake up to how the world has been rigged against the Have-Nots by the Haves.

So yeah. Ruby was right to cut off Tyrian's tail. Of an oppressed race or not, he was out to KILL THEM. Blake and Yang even tried to give Adam a chance to walk away but sadly, he was too busy listening to his unending rage.

And Ironwood had reflags since his first appearance. Warships during peacetime is certain a sign of a stable mind, right?

I unlocked a memory. About 10 years ago, when I was reading rotbtd fanfiction. Mostly Hogwarts!AU, but others too. It was probably my first fandom of all. It may have shaped my attitude towards fandoms, because I still really like crossovers.

Decided to start a new project. After scrolling through Pinterest, I suddenly thought that RWBY!AU sounds really good. Now I'm thinking about the characters' biographies and abilities, and there are no problems here. The problem is different. The Great Demiurges, what should we call their team? I know English very poorly, so I'm sadly leafing through an English dictionary and hoping that I can find a suitable word (the leader is Hiccup, so at least I've decided on the first letter). Maybe you have some ideas?

The abilities she has are redundant- but it's only to show consistency. I plan on making my own "Invincible War" situation. If anyone feels like it- I'd love for designs for each of Lois's variants. But this was just for funsies so- ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ ͡⁠°⁠ ͜⁠ʖ⁠ ͡⁠°⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Quick thoughts on two person ships that I've seen in the fics I like or read fics for in both HP and RWBY

Percy x Penelope: I like it it's cute. Ginny catching them snogging would probably have a greater impact on canon if Penny was someone the Weasleys had a vocal opinion of.

Percy x Audrey: It's cute in fanfic. In canon though, it suffers from the thing of canon Audrey is just a name.

Percy x Oliver: This fits into so many of my favourite tropes, it's kind of hilarious. I think this was my first Percy ship.

Percy x Marcus: Character I love shipped with a charater that absolutely would go to hell and back for the other is probably the quickest way to get me to ship two characters and Flintley isn't any different. This is my favourite Percy two person ship, hands down

Percy x Anyone in Harry's year or Ginny's year: Not getting into specific ships because this is the most common theme of Percy ships that I end up filtering out. Personally, I only see it happening post second wizarding war after both members have left Hogwarts, and I have to be in a really specific mood to read fics for these types of ships. However, depending on who Percy is shipped with, it can be cute

Penelope x Audrey: I love these two together in fanfic and I love the versatility. If you thought Perciver fit a lot of tropes, then this ship can fit more because again canon Audrey is just a name.

Penelope x Fred: I think my enjoyment of this ship heavily depends on how Fred is characterized. These two in a ship read to me as Bookworm x Prankster, and I'm really not a fan of that trope. It absolutely doesn't help that the twins are tied for my least favourite (I don't hate them but I like the other siblings better) of the book Wesley children.

Oliver x Marcus: I like the ship, and I think it's a good rivals to lovers ship. I'm pretty sure the only reason I've dropped a FlintWood fic is because I didn't vibe with the non-Flintwood ships in the fic

Ruby x Weiss: White Rose I think is partly as popular as it is because of the thing of pair off the spares. However, unlike a lot of couples I've seen with that thing, their canon interactions are pretty cute. On the other hand, their canon status of getting partnered during initiation does help their cause.

Ruby x Blake: I know I've said it for basically most of the other ships on the list but it's cute. I think I got into this ship with either a Team RWBY poly fic or a Beauty and the Beast retelling that used Ladybug

Ruby x Jaune: I like their friendship and I think a romantic relationship would be fine. I don't really ship it myself but I can see the appeal.

Weiss x Blake: I like it. However, I think it would be better in the later seasons rather than when they were in Beacon.

Weiss x Yang: Freezerburn, my beloved. I know with recent events, it's absolutely not going to be canon, but imma just vibe with their dynamic with fanfic

Weiss x Pyrrha: I think this is my favourite Weiss ship. There's a possibility of one-sided rivalry to lovers while in Beacon, and I think that's my favourite trope the ship could fall into

Weiss x Jaune: Personally prefer a friendship between the two but the volume 9 white knight moments were cute

Blake x Yang: It's cute. I'm glad they got made canon, and I want to see more cute canon moments between the two if the show does somehow get another volume. In the meantime, I will be chilling with fanfic.

Blake x Sun: Like Bumblebee, its cute. I also don't want to see discourse between it and Bumblebee.

Blake x Adam: The exception to my Blake ships that I've read are cute. The stuff I've read have sometimes had this as a past relationship for Blake and it should stay a past relationship.

Yang x Neo: Would be an interesting friendship post s3 but I don't feel comfortable shipping them romantically with recent canon events even with the Neo age discourse I've seen.
