i hope you all know that Knight Flower is giving us women co-conspirators, a noona romance, a woman as the Grand Merchant, another woman who has a side hustle transcribing books, a lot of women engaging in commerce just in general, nation's mom Kim Mi Kyung (in this case an oppressive mother-in-law), an upstanding male lead that secretly supports the hijinks of our female lead, lots of girls and women acting in this series (like - just so many. Sageuks don't normally have a huge female cast and this is giving quantity and variety), a focus on the downtrodden and oppressed, and Honey Lee wrestling with having the hots for a dude she just punched.

GENRES: Historical, Supernatural, Romance

SUMMARY: A dragon spirit who failed his ascension falls in love with an empathetic shaman who holds the key to their happiness.

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Demonic goo, possessions, ladies in wells, one-legged hopping, taffy, mountain monks, ancestral sins, eternal braziers, curses, Joseon soccer, grim reapers, forgiveness, horticulture, tasty buchujeon, dragons, soul-feasting, sword fighting, dancing, and awesome moms.

HOT TAKE: I'm not sure if it's over-saturation, but as soon as kdrama characters find something important out and purposely don't tell their other main lead because they want to protect them, I start looking for the FF button. I know drama comes from conflict, but there's a real opportunity in dramas now to promote creative teamwork rather than dramatic irony.

I wanted to see more of a creative, professional growth arc for Bo Na's character and her shaman talents. Being paired up with a literal deity didn't make her useless, but it should have helped her come to terms with what she COULD do, as a human with human skills.

We all expected a cute romance, and we got it with these two due to their talents in being stubborn and like puppy dogs, but don't expect any satisfying kisses...or ones that 100% even touch lips.
