Shikamaru was the one that helped Naruto bounce back from Jiraiyas death!!! Naruto help Shikamaru get his revenge on Hidan!!! Their friendship is really underrated!!!

AU / Crossover idea:

All the "Konoha 11", (minus Neji, who was already dead, but adding Sai) reincarnate/isekai together. Why/how? Because...

1) Naruto and Sasuke already reincarnate together, they're linked.

2) Everyone else, but Sakura, because of this...

... Naruto pumped them full of ways more of his own reincarnating chakra, & Kurama's resurrecting chakra, than anyone else in the Allied Shinobi Forces. This much foreign chakra could easily have a side effect if the Gold & Silver Bros are any indication.

3) Sakura because when Naruto lost Kurama, she ran out of her own chakra and the chakra in her "Strength of 100" seal, forcing her to keep his heart pumping by literal hand. Yet after Naruto gets Divine Chakra and saves Guy Sensei, Sakura not only has enough chakra to fight but uses her "Strength of 100" again. This only makes sense, in story, if Naruto, off screen, refills her & her seals chakra reserves when he gains Divine Chakra.

Kakashi, in cannon, has said Kurama has 100 times his own chakra so this...

Is comparable to this...

in volume/amount, hence the same side effect given the source of said chakra in this scenario.

EDIT: & an argument could be made for Gaara to reincarnate too, since Naruto provided the (reincarnating) chakra used to resurrect Gaara after he lost Shukaku!

Suo’s Team:

Suo’s another rookie taking on the Gym Challenge in the same year as Sakura, and his party is (I think) a pretty good reflection of who he is as a person. Or, anyway, who he wants people to think he is. (With the exception of Plusle but we’ll get to that in a moment)

Mienshao as his partner pokemon hit me like a slap in the face, not gonna lie. Like, it was the first concrete thing I had for him and the image of them pulling matching fighting poses would not leave my mind. So it had to happen. And if you can look me in the eye and tell me they weren’t made for each other — then we’ll duel at dawn, I guess. Bring your switch and we can go at each other in Sword/Shield.

The rest of the team is what prompted some enterprising magazine to dub him “Most Elegant Rookie,” with each one more beautiful and stylish than the last. He’s likely not interested in evolving his Dragonair at this point, and Dragonair’s more than fine with that. It gets around fine whether it’s on land, in the water, or in the air. Mawile’s a charming addition with a very literal “hidden side” so you know I had fun giving it to Suo. Vulpix is the little princess of the team, and the one Nirei dotes on the most. You can usually find it on Suo’s shoulder or cuddled in Nirei’s arms, or poking out of one of their backpacks as they travel together. It’s Suo’s youngest Pokemon, having hatched from an egg (which he obtained from winning a contest he chose to join on a whim) fairly recently.

Plusle is a match to Nirei’s Minun! They caught them together on one of Nirei’s research expeditions he asked Suo to join him on, and on the rare occasions they double battle with another set of trainers, Suo always brings his Plusle out so they can support one another. Y’know, the whole hand clapping deal, because it’s cute as fuck and was the second suo-related thing I couldn’t get out of my head.

so sorry if this is a stupid question but like... how do u age up characters, not like literally but like in a writing sence (cause ur suo fics were honestly amazing)

this isn't a stupid question at all, it's actually something I struggle a lot with LOL and I'm glad to hear that you liked how I handled it in my suo fics - thank you for reading 🥺!

here are the approaches I take to generally ageing people up:

think about their canon characterization - not just their traits and habits, but also their motivations/values and where their character arc is heading

think about what kind of path they'd be heading toward as an adulthood (in material, mundane terms - university, type of work, relationships, major life events, etc). sometimes the series will give you careers they're heading towards, but wherever that's not the case, I usually like to stick to very realistic career paths because it grounds them into a realistic kind of adult context that we would be able to relate to. if they're getting into some kind of exceptional career (like, for instance, yakuza membership lol, but even if I kept them in delinquent groups like shishitoren or roppo-ichiza), then I usually go out of my way to justify it.

now this is the tricky part - think about how the events of their adulthood would affect their motivations/values, traits, habits, and larger character arc. the motivations/values and character arc pieces are very important, because it basically defines the adult characterization. (that's why so much of the suo fic revolves around his master and the effect of losing him, and what it does to his values and character arc!)

I also like to think about how other, normal adults would perceive this new aged-up version of them - the typical salaryman, the typical convenience store worker, etc. I find it helps recontextualize the character away from the canon setting and toward a more realistic, adult context. this is mostly so I'm not viewing the character through rose coloured glasses as I'm writing them lol (eg, someone who may be charming to us because of our attachment to them in canon might in fact be a neurotic loser to the average well-adjusted adult).

I’m going to go ahead and say that “loving Boruto” isn’t the reason Sumire & Sarada are unaffected by Eida’s Otsutsuki ability. Himawari is clearly affected (in the new chapter, but already had started establishing a bond with Kawaki in the anime so that’s why she has her doubts) and Mitsuki is too. Sumire has an Otsutsuki chakra connection via Nue (it’s never explained well and it’s only in the anime but it’s said it’s linked to the Otsutsuki). We still don’t know about Sarada yet, but it’s clearly not about “love.”
