Hey I ever tell you about the day we were hanging out on the stairs and the one dude was playing with a lighter and he started lighting my pants on fire?

They were rather beat up jeans so what actually happened was he lit the stringies and they burned up all nice and neat

And I suspect he was going for some form of reaction but probably not the reaction he got, because I am a firebug and listen.

The flame caught my eye immediately.

And before I was done with “oh pretty 🥰” it had gone out and the stringie was gone and it was obvious it would not be a problem

So I moved my foot closer and told him to get the rest

And he did, because like knows like, and then he did the other leg for me, and I got another good couple years outta those pants before the fraying started again

Also when I ran out of stringies he lit the shoelace of the guy beside me on fire and then I think he did get the reaction he wanted because that boy SCREAMED and leapt up and stuck his foot in the water fountain

And by the time he was vertical the shoelace had gone out because 1) they’re thicker and catch less readily than stringies and 2) fast movement and air flow

But oh boy he panicked for a good three minutes, and he’d been watching this dude light my pants on fire for 15 so I’m not fully sure why he was surprised but he was looking away when his shoelace got lit so

And then I told everyone about how you can melt the ends of your shoelaces closed if they lose their end cappy but Shoelace Boy did not want to let us do his so we did everyone else’s
