Good evening, party people! I’m so glad to see everyone out and enjoying the Carnival! I want to give a huge shoutout to all of our residents and staff who participated in the first optional task we set- getting to know each other through family! Please know that anyone is still welcome to respond to the task- these are optional so there is no deadline! Though, we will be putting out a new optional task each Monday, so keep those bright eyes peeled for that! Also, I will be discussing with Miss Shangela the possibility of awarding points for answering/participating, as a little further encouragement!

That being said, it is Monday which means the presentation of a brand new optional task, to continue helping us all get to know each other. This one will be a little less formal and hopefully a little more fun! A brief questionnaire all about- you guessed it- you! Be as brief or as detailed with your answers as you wish! I am become Death | Task 001

Charlie was about a month and a half from his nineteenth birthday the first time he pulled the trigger and ended a life. It was little more than a silenced recoil, a body falling a thousand yards away, a confirmation of the kill from his spotter. Just about the only way you could be more detached from the death you created was to be the one ordering the war in the first place. "Hey.” The numbness he felt was interrupted by a sharp jab to his shoulder. He turned, feeling like he was swimming through molasses, struggling to focus on his spotter. “It’s them or us, kid. It’s them or us.”

Over the next six years, Charlie put a bullet in every head he was ever ordered to, learning detachment between what he did and who he was. He learned to pack himself up in a little box in the back of his mind, keep that part of himself separate. The part that played Call of Duty with his brother and dried the dishes with his mom and worked on his first car with his dad and escorted his sister and her friends to the mall when he was on leave. Charlie was not a killer. Charlie was that--a son and brother and friend. Sergeant Bennett was the killer, and it was he who survived, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. It amused him that sometimes the weight of the world weighed 16.56 pounds.

It’s them or us, kid. It’s them or us. Breathe in, aim, breathe out, squeeze. Repeat. The silence echoed around him, the coppery scent of blood stinging his nostrils. Three bodies fell to the floor, bloodied mouths gaping in silent cries. The soft, oatmeal-colored carpet of the hall seeped black as the blood coagulated in thick clots. Mom would be pissed. But it was her blood. Dad always hated than I kept this thing in the house. He turned over the M1911 in his hands, looking at it as if he’d never seen one before. The barrel was still warm. Always said it was gonna kill someone. 

Tucking the gun down the back of his jeans, he turned on his heel to retreat back into his room. A minute later, he was picking his way down the hall of his childhood home, pack and duffle in hand. Pulling the front door closed behind him, he tossed his bags in the back of his dad’s truck, fishing the keys out of his pocket. He’d head to the recruitment station, see if he could join back up with a unit. A last glance at the little yellow house in the rearview would be the last time he saw the place, before it burned to the ground along with the rest of the city, several months later. Charlie would never come home again.

SANCTUARY TASK: NO. TWO

       BEFORE THE OUTBREAK

before the outbreak andi was a playful librarian who wrestled in an independent circuit. she loved books, wrestling, and holding onto her inner child. she was known for becoming passionate about certain things and learning as much as she could about it. when she was young it was hunting - her family’s way of bonding, and when she was older it was wrestling. she would hold fandom parties for her favorite shows and books; andi loved a good party. she had made a profession out of being single; running from anyone who made her feel real feelings.

Who is your hero?  My brother. Hunter is the smartest, strongest, bravest, most caring person I know. He’s always been there for me, no matter what. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I cannot even begin to answer this question. I have no idea where I’d like to end up. 

What is your biggest fear? I am pretty terrified of clowns. Funnily enough, failure, despite the amount of times I’ve done just that. And...I’m afraid that Kallee’s killer will never be found. 

What is your favorite family vacation? Not to be a copy cat, but the vacation my brother talked about, the cruise my family took. It was one of the few times I remember having the ability to feel somewhat like a child, and I know Hunter had everything to do with that. He made sure I had the best of times- he played with me all day; I’m sure I made him take me on the water slide a hundred times if I begged him for one. But, he never got tired of me, and he never said ‘no’. He even talked my parents into ice cream, which was always a rarity in our lives. That vacation was one of the simplest times I believe Hunter or myself have ever had in our lives, and I’m not sure I ever got to properly thank him for giving me that. 

What would you change about yourself if you could? I wish I weren’t an addict. 

What really makes you angry?  Dishonesty, disrespect, disloyalty, racism, homophobia, animals being mistreated, mixed signals, injustice.   

What motivates you to work hard?  The people in my life who have stood by me through too much bullshit for me to fail. Hunter, Kallee, Jamie, Ellis, and Genevieve.  

What is your favorite thing about your career?  My favorite thing about being a journalist was the investigation portion of things. I always enjoyed interviewing people, gathering information, and piecing things together. 

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Chicken Curry

Who is your favorite author? Call me old fashioned, but Agatha Christie

Have you ever had a nickname? Oh, several. Cam, Cammie, Bell, Bella, Bells...

Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not?  Ultimately I am not a huge fan, the thought of something occurring in my life without my knowledge makes me a bit anxious. Though, small surprises are alright.

In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read? That would really depend on my mood. 

Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Alaska! I’d love to see some of the wildlife and visit some of the national parks! And, I don’t mind the cold. 

Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why? I’d prefer to work at the perfect job. That is a once in a lifetime opportunity. While winning the lottery itself may be, more money can always be generated and made. 

Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?  Jamie

If money was no object, what would you do all day? Read and write. Explore. Cook. I know I would probably watch a lot of TV as well.  

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? 2019  

How would your friends describe you?  I have no idea? Crazy, probably. 

What are your hobbies?  Reading, watching movies, cooking, dancing. 

What is the best gift you have been given?  My ring.  

What is the worst gift you have received? Etiquette Lessons. No, I am not kidding.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?  Water. My brother. Books.

List two pet peeves. When people slam doors, and people who clean under their fingernails with napkins. 

Where do you see yourself in five years?  I would love to answer this question, but I unfortunately cannot. I am not in a mindset to clearly think about things like that. I still have to take things one day at a time.

SANCTUARY TASK: NO. TWO

       AFTER THE OUTBREAK

after the outbreak andi felt more in her element. she could go as crazy as she wanted, and she found something that was finally challenging-killing biters. she set a goal of killing 5 biters per day when she realized that the dead were back. her new obsession became killing the undead. she set an overall goal of 20,000 and began calling herself 20k to stay focused. she traveled alone for the large part of her travels. she also, had no trouble killing people who were threats to her or others. she is cocky about her own ability, but doesn’t flaunt it. if someone kills a biter around her, she will try her best to out do them. despite the fact that the world is grim, she is typically lighthearted and is always up for a good laugh.
