Webcomic Day 2025 Rec List

Another year, another list of the webcomics I'm currently reading/recently read/reread! Some stuff here should be free to read online in one form or another, but obviously if you can tip folks, use subscription services, support patreons, or just buy ebook and/or physical copies to support the artists/writers, that's awesome!

Completed free webcomics

Noctifer by Emily Cheeseman

"When a traveling bard finds himself lost on the road, a curtain of fog brings him and a party of strangers to a realm trapped in the shadow of a vampire's curse.

Told in a series of short letters, Noctifer is a short comic inspired by the Curse of Strahd D&D campaign."

Available for free online, and to purchase as a PDF. You can also check out their adaptation of Gawain and the Green Knight! (Also available for free and as a physical release and PDF)

Netkama PUNCH!!! (manhwa) by CHIMA, adapted by bongyee, with art by gongben

"Netkama – a male who portrays himself as female online. The Hunt by Lucid

Available on Lucid's site, Webtoon, and Tapas, and as an ebook and in print. Lucid also has a completed BL comic about winged people, Avialae, a nearly-completed BL prequel called Occultus, available on Lucid's store and patreon, and an ongoing supernatural BL comic, River Street.

My S-Class Hunters (manhwa) by geunseo, adapted by seri, with art by biwan

"Yoojin is an F-ranker overshadowed by his little brother, an S-ranker. All he does is get in his brother’s way, causing trouble wherever he goes. When a seemingly routine dungeon raid goes wrong and costs Yoojin his brother’s life, Yoojin decides to use the wish granted by clearing the dungeon to reset his timeline. The plan was to lead a quiet life from now on… but now it turns out he can help other people become S-rankers?! Maybe this is Yoojin’s chance at building his own entourage of powerful metahumans… but it may be easier said than done."

An absolutely phenomenal manhwa, entirely free to read in English on Webtoon, but available for coins on Tappytoon! The novel it's based on comcluded in May 2025, and the main story is available to read in Korean on Ridibooks, munpia, and Naver. The sequel/Side Story is available in Korean on Naver, as is the manhwa.

Omniscient Reader (manhwa) by singNsong, adapted by UMI, art by Sleepy-C

"Dokja was an average office worker whose sole interest was reading his favorite web novel 'Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.' But when the novel suddenly becomes reality, he is the only person who knows how the world will end. Armed with this realization, Dokja uses his understanding to change the course of the story, and the world, as he knows it."

The manhwa is completely free to read on Webtoon, with the latest few episodes paywalled, but with one going free each week. The manhwa is available for purchase in English via an ongoing release with Yen Press. The main story of the revision of ORV the novel (which the manhwa is based on) is complete at 551 chapters, with the English translation slated for release in July 2025, and it's available in Korean on Munpia, while the sequel/Side Story is on-going.

Dreadful Night by moan

All the different ways to read. The manhwa is currently available in digital and physical release to varying extent in Korean, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, and Japanese.

Jinx by Mingwa

"Physical therapist Kim Dan has been down on his luck for as long as he can remember. Between an ailing grandmother, menacing loansharks, and an old boss making it almost impossible for him to find work, Dan is truly running out of options. Lout of Count's Family (manhwa) by Yu Ryeo-Han, adapted by Pan4

"Kim Roksu lived a miserable, unimportant life until he transmigrated into Birth of a Hero, a fantasy novel. Unfortunately, he adopted the body of Cale Henituse, a minor villain who receives the beating of a lifetime from the main character, Choi Han. With this second chance, Kim Roksu is intent on living a happy, uneventful life. And the first step to that life is avoiding Choi Han at all costs!"

The manhwa adaptation is available in English on Tappytoon, Tapas, and mostly on Lezhin, though it's currently on hiatus. The original Korean is ongoing on Kakao. The English translation of the novel it's based on is being released by Seven Seas as a physical release, ebook, and audiobook.

Completed webcomics with ongoing collected releases in English

Mo Dao Zu Shi (manhua) by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, adapted by Luo Di Cheng Qiu

"Feared and hated for his sinister abilities, Wei Wuxian–the grandmaster of demonic cultivation–was driven to his death when the most powerful clans united to destroy him.

Thirteen years later, Wei Wuxian is reborn. The manhua adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi concluded a few years ago online, but has slowly been releasing physically. Seven Seas is selling ebooks and physical versions of the English translation, and they are seemingly selling the Taiwanese revised version with improved visuals (not extra censoring: the characters are redrawn to be better fleshed out). The original novel is also available from them in English.

Semantic Error (manhwa) by J. Soori, adapted by Angy

"Reason, routine, and rules. These are the tenets that computer science major Sangwoo Choo lives by, so when the rest of his teammates fail to contribute to their group’s presentation, he cuts their names from the project—including that of a complete no-show, whose plans to graduate and study abroad have gone down the drain as a result. Not that that’s any of Sangwoo’s business…until he realizes that Jaeyoung Jang, the talented design major he was hoping to hire for his video game, is: one, that very same classmate, and two, hell-bent on returning the favor and being the biggest thorn in his side! Will Sangwoo be able to debug this semantic error before it upends his entire life?"

The manhwa adaptation of Semantic Error completed a while ago, and is available to read on Manta, but it's slowly being released in English as an ebook and physical release by Yen Press, with the English translation of the novel to eventually start, as well.
