A quickly colored sketch of Lysander and Sascha being soft together. It is a toxic relationship, but before it got toxic, it was actually pretty decent, and sometimes its fun to draw those "before everything turned to shit" moments between these two. Forgive the extreme lack of art updates, a lot has been going on in my personal life and I'm mostly focusing my creative energy on writing the book that these two characters are in and on top of everything else, I'm just too tired to draw lately lol. But hopefully I can pick it up and not just post once a month.

introducing the five people that stand between sascha and the throne.

lidija volkova - 17, she/her. the third oldest volkova sibling, pretty much the leader of the hero squad. (reluctantly) looking to squash her eldest brother sascha’s rebellion, keep her sister safe, and keep the king on the throne. 

deniska volkova - 18, she/her. the second oldest volkova sibling. has no wish for any fighting, just wants to settle down and life a soft life with her remaining family - unfortunately for her, the two family members she has left just so happen to be pitted against each other in a deadly battle. 

lev molchalin - 19, he/him. a poor orphan from one of the slums of the city, whose whole life was turned around by the king’s welfare programs. would both kill and die for the king and the royal bloodline. 

galina nikolaev - 18, she/her. daughter of the king, heir to the throne. lived her whole life as the king’s only child, but the last thing you could call her is a spoiled brat. adept with most weapons, including her beauty. 

mikhail “misha” krovopuskov - 19, he/him. cousin of the mariskayan princess, but has no wish for the throne. however, he doesn’t want his uncle off the throne. likes to sleep around, overall pretty easy-going, but has a worrying love for violence.

Things tend to be rough between these two. I guess the whole idea of this drawing is that Lysander is unsure of going along with Sascha's bullshit anymore and Sascha is trying to convince him with a show of comfort and affection, though it's all surface level.

Is Sascha's hair too long in this? Yes. But I liked how it turned out 🤷🏻‍♂️

I drew this awhile ago but ended up not liking it. I still don't particularly like it but I like it more than when I first finished it so that's something!

Here are some sketches of my character, Sascha! This was mostly me just trying to get more comfortable with drawing him. He's harder for me to draw, but after many hours and many discarded drawings, I can finally say I'm getting happier with how I'm drawing him. The last four drawings are (badly) done sketches of some outfits. The colored ones are what he's going to be wearing when he's introduced in my story. He's cursed with immortality but before he was cursed, he lived the first 50 years of his life in a small village (that's surrounded by a huge pinewood forest, its basically fantasy Russia, but where he lived was very remote). What's fun about drawing an immortal character in a fantasy world is drawing the progression of where he starts the story to where he ends the story. He starts off living on a farm, being very used to manual labor, but as he slowly progresses through his arc, he tends to favor more opulent and expensive things, moving through the ranks of nobility to eventual royalty. He also likes piercings. Included is also a detailed drawing of his physique (and a bad sketch of Lysander's and Sascha's height comparison)

This was also fun to do because I tried a different method of doing his hair, kind of a carving it out kind of deal, and I really liked the end results!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since I first created Sascha here! He's still the same, awful person, with a bit more nuance. I can't wait to share his and Lysander's story!

well heck it has been some time since I’ve made a new character! Meet Sascha Nikolaev!

A complete 100% irredeemable character andilovehimalready. Kind of meant to be the opposite of Lysander in almost every way, but they keep coming together and clashing. Both cursed with immortality and the weight that can bring but where Lysander takes that as “I’ll be the best me I can be”, Sascha takes it as “There are no consequences to anything I do so I’m going to do whatever I want.”

They were lovers friends for a bit, but it got too volatile for Lysander, and he was becoming too dependent on Sascha and falling for his constant manipulation, so before it could get worse, Lysander left him.

Sascha is constantly frustrated by Lysander acting too human and Lysander is constantly frustrated at Sascha for being too inhumane.
