"It's mad that you think I love ye in the first place." Darragh says from the armchair he's reclined in, the pair of them having shared enrichment time in their roommate enclosure by scrolling social media separately in silence.
( Bonding! )
He clicks his screen locked and lays it on his chest, turning his head towards her as he considers the questions.
"Would I still love ye if you were a worm," He repeats as he mulls it over, his index finger tapping on the back of his iPhone as he thought. "I doubt it. You'd be even later on rent than usual. I'd be out on me arse with no where to live and you could just slither into some dirt and be grand. I'd keep you as a pet though if I got someone in to replace you. Like I'd get ye a lovely mason jar, I'd make it feel homely and that so we could still watch our shows."
That's been proving harder to do with their differing schedules.
"As for the Roman Empire, a fair bit actually. I did watch Gladiator two weeks ago though so that could be why. What about you? Or what is your Roman Empire?"

Amidst the silence that filled their lounge, the only other sound was the incessant TikToks that Sasika scrolled through. The same soundbites played over and over again, much to anyone else's annoyance. "Dar," Sasika begins in the way she always does, extending out the syllable to the point of no return. Her eyes don't move from her phone as she continues scrolling. Once she senses she has his attention, Sasika looks up at him from her sprawled out position on the couch.
"I have two questions for you: one, would you still love me if I was a worm? And two, how often do you think about the Roman Empire?" After a moments pause, she adds. "Curious minds want to know."

Of course she worked at Crystal Cottage.
While he hadn't known that when he entered the establishment, the atmosphere he was met with should have given him a hint that she was present there. It was a grifter kind of vibe, which is exactly what he thought of her.
"How can you possibly hex my life more than you already have?" He asked, his mouth just moving without much input from the grey matter floating around his skull.
So much for the Amethyst he was looking for to help him sleep. He was certain if she sold it to him he would be plagued with nightmares.

As the brunette was leaning back behind the counter, her eyes firmed placed on the book that was spread open in front of her, Sasika barely noticed the trickle of the melodic bells that signalled a customer had arrived. This wouldn’t be the first time she’d been caught slacking off at her job. As much as she needed the money, it was hard to care a menial job that paid barely anything. Besides, the place was empty, despite this new arrival.
Her eyes didn't even look up momentarily as someone approached her, an air of annoyance of being disturbed while reading on the job exuded from her. “Browse all you want,” she insisted, eyes still focused on the pages before her. "But hands where I can see 'em. The owner told me to hex anyone I catch stealing."
