The gentle drizzle was almost imperceptible on the skin of his face, but rather visible against the light of the streetlamps that illuminated the nighttime city street. Usually, Kurapika would find himself walking next to a stray cat that would have liked to have taken a quiet walk next to him, but today there were no cats, no dogs… no people.

Kurapika felt somewhat frustrated to be in the city and not be able to observe a starry sky, nor the pleasant smell of petrichor that such a drizzle would provoke when in the forest.

The hunter's hands were in the pockets of his suit pants, while his gaze wandered from the small waves that his steps made in the puddles on the street, to an undefined point on the horizon. The sound of his shoes on the asphalt was almost all he could hear. Almost. From time to time, Kurapika could hear the plastic sound of the bag he carried in one of his pockets. From time to time, Kurapika could hear the coffee bean cracking between his teeth. From time to time, he could hear other footsteps.

Stoic as ever, Kurapika slowly slowed down his walk until he finally stopped, in the middle of the drizzle, in the middle of the paved street barely lit by the city streetlights.

His other hand, was gently caressing the edge of his switchblade, the one he was ready to use in case the other person decided to attack him. He didn't move, and simply remained with his back to the other person as he closed his eyes to sharpen his other senses.

"Whatever you want or have to say, I'm not interested" He mentioned, barely opening his eyes a bit, but still with his back to the stranger "So you better go away, I don't want any company"

THANK YOU! I felt like I was going insane seeing the constant posts praising SOTR's writing (and unfortunately to say but Lenore Dove as a character) when neither was as great as mentioned. It was a huge disappointment that had no substance and was generally overwhelming and underwhelming at the same thing. We have these excessive plots, which could have possibly worked if executed well, and characters that are omitted for no particular reason. There is no further mention of Haymitch's family, no mention of Chaff at all (somebody who shares his experiences and is canonically close with him) Maysilee (hell, even Wyatt and Lou Lou) are given no connection with the narrative than off-hand mentions when they are dead. All just to continuously shoe-horn Lenore Dove when her presence wasn't required at that moment. However, one thing that you brought up that I needed to really vent about is the failed potential with how the Careers are approached, especially in response to the on-brand theme of propaganda. For starters, I do believe SC could have easily taken the easy way out and explored the portrayal given to us over the last books that the Careers are brainwashed children blinded by the Capitol's false pretenses. However, when it was revealed to be Haymitch's perspective, I still had hope that there would be a possibility of providing more information regarding the manipulation that is required to make the tributes view slaughtering as an honorable action. If anything, SOTR barely scratched the surface level and already added to multiple failed potentials of storylines as it only created further questions. (1/?)

Her representation of Careers is very underwhelming, especially given the fact that it's subtly implied Enobaria seems to harbour a lot of resentment for the Capitol despite all the brainwashing. She's angry. Yes, she misdirects her anger as soon as she's dropped in the arena, but we also see it in Mockingjay. We understand the reference to more privileged people who direct their anger towards the poor instead of the corrupt, oppressive government.

I understand why she was written that way during the OG trilogy.

Then, we go back to tbosbas, and we see the Careers look at other tributes from different districts in completely dehumanizing ways. And you can understand why, it's the 10th Game. There is less spectacle, and the first years they are much more violent before Snow introduces the concept of "glamour" in the industry.

But in SOTR there is virtually no excuse. Fourty editions later, twice as many tributes are reaped, and you're telling me there is not one Career who has a personality deeper than being angry and a killing machine? Nothing?

In the first book we learn that District 1 and 2 are the District that got more wins throughout all the editions, and you're telling me not one of these people is upset about becoming a sexual pawn in the hands of the Capitol? That no one opens their eyes? Maybe we see this in Enobaria and her teeth procedure, but then we don't get much of her. Otherwise, all the other character don't seem at all explored, not even given the tiniest aperture into their thought process.

It's not realistic.

I’m 50/50 on her going I also think they spent sm time cause they’ll be away but Azzi will be back for her first home game or something. Wouldn’t be suprised either way but it’s no delulu!!

And the transfers are crazy?? Barker hates UConn. And apparently lay transferred for her mom?

I don’t say I’m 100% sure often but I’m 100% sure If Azzi doesn’t go to Dallas with P on Wednesday she will be there much sooner than for her first home game. And yes the transfers are indeed insane. The Lay thing I don’t fully believe because she in my opinion also at times this season seemed over it. So many people are hating on her for her decision but I think she for sure did the right thing in leaving. Idk if LSU is the place for her but potentially coming off the bench for a 3rd year for someone of her talent is just unfair. It also impacts her draft stock because her class is stacked and the top prospects have all been starting since their freshman season. I also don’t like the way Dawn seemed to have her on a much shorter leash than everyone else. Taking her out every single time she made a mistake while leaving people in who would consistently miss wide open layups without being held accountable was😬 I think her being expected to come off the bench and make up for the starters inability to consistently score was also unfair to her. She is far from perfect and definitely has areas to grow in but I think she was taken for granted at SC and Dawn bringing in all of these transfers instead of continuing to develop Lay in my opinion tells me everything I need to know.

Alright here it is! I'm working on this silly little crossover idea for AvA and Sky: CotL, and I so want to share! For starters, about the crossover:

It's called either Animation vs. Sky or Season of Animation, depending on what angle you approach it from. For those who know Sky: the idea is to set it up exactly like a season would work, with cosmetics and a story line and a role for the player and everything. For those who don't know Sky: One, go play it, it's free, fun,and so pretty, and Two, basically just means that each character is going to get their own unique set of wings!

But anyways! First up is SC, who is also the Season Guide (for non-Sky-ers: 'tis means they give you the quests over the duration of the season). Their wings always look drawn, so no shading on them. I figured that would be a really cool, distinct cosmetic compared to Sky's art style. Also the couch is literally just the signature couch. It would be the item at the top of their tree. One itsy bitsy thing though... Their items are not the Ultimate Gifts (non Sky folks, don't worry about this). I have made an executive decision to break the rules a bit, mostly because there's someone with a cooler set of cosmetics coming up that was more deserving of that honor >:D

I'll be sharing more art for this and any ideas I have from now on. Eventually I'll write stuff for it. But in the meantime don't be afraid to ask me about this! Or suggest ideas! I actually don't know what the capes for everyone else will look like (aside from Chosen, Green, and Purple) so I am open to all ideas for our favorite boogers.

coming home from rehearsal, all lauren wanted to do was take a shower and sleep for twelve hours. she dropped her script off in her room, undressed, grabbed her robe and hummed all the way towards the bathroom she shared with her roommate. assuming she wasn't home (and being a little exhausted so she wasn't thinking straight), she ended up opening the door to the bathroom to see her roommate showering. at first, she almost gasped but with the glass and the way her hands were moving all over herself lauren was too stunned to do a thing and ended up just staring, biting on her lower lip.

that’s what I’m saying. The players expecting KM, and they get Hayes. Having Hayes, KP and JY is not a good mix because they’re all going to try and score first instead of looking to A’ja first. Those 3 together on the court or 2-3 of them on the court look off open players so many times it’s annoying AF. A good combo was: AW, KP, AC, KS, KM or AW, KP, JY, KM, AC. Please tell me why the bench today the last few mins had better ball movement than the starters? (EC, KM, SC) were moving the ball well together. And my theory has been proven right that when Kate is open and she asks for the ball, she will make that shot.

BRO IK. when becky put the bench in they played kinda better than the team had been playing all game. the ball movement was there and they got their shots. i was sitting there like where was this when we needed it 😭
