🕸️ what is going on, because i do not know!! however, i am guessing it is time for the INTRODUCTION of the century, ladies, ladies and gentlemen. i’m laura, i’m in the GMT+1 timezone, i’m in the discord server but it’s always better to hit me up privately because i suck at keeping up with group chats honestly. anyway - you’re here for THORN. have fun!

here’s a quick rundown on boram aka thorn of the hex girls. 

━━ ☆ jinkies! i just saw THORN / SON BORAM, the LEE SIYEON lookalike of mystery inc. they’ve always struck me as a little SHORT-TEMPERED, but the others swear that they’re nothing but CARING. in the group, they’re often called the ORPHIC, but it’s great that they bring an air of SMUDGED RED LIPSTICK, THE TOUCH OF VELVET & RIPPED JEANS to the crew. given the recent drama, SHE’S out to prove to everyone that SHE HASN’T MURDERED ANYONE BY ACCIDENT. ( laura, 26, she/her, gmt+1 )

she’s the singer and guitar player of the hexes, incomplete without dusk and luna. 

as for appearance, she’s about 170cm, has black hair with differently colored highlights (whatever color she’s feeling like mostly), a tattoo on her ankle.

positive characteristics:  supportive, caring, quick-witted, honest, trust-worthy, loyal.

negative characteristics: reckless, spooky, suspicious. 

she considers herself as an eco-goth aka she’s into saving the planet and sorting her trash. 

can she do magic? kinda. if you really believe in it. 

THE ORPHIC – someone who is beyond ordinary, they’re like from a fantasy book or something ; tend to be very mysterious.

background 

born in oakhaven, son boram was the daughter to son joohyuk, learned pharmacist and lee minjoo, daughter of a long lost line of wiccan witches.

that’s why she often considers herself to be 1/16th wiccan witch. 

since she was a child, she had been a bit odd and different from others, this being the reason why she was often more on the outsider line than anywhere else, separating herself from others. 

as a teenager she started to find her musical talent, picking up on how to play the guitar and to train her singing. 

however, this was also around the time rumors started to boil up about her – something something about her poisoning the new kid at school with medicine she had stolen from her fathers pharmacy. it was a believable rumor, ruining her reputation and only making her stand out even more in the bad sense. 

now being seen as murderous witch, she just played into that more, even enjoying the fact that she seemed scary to others. 

after high school, boram never went to college. being from a small village like oakhaven, it just came naturally to her to take over her fathers pharmacy, learning from him.

regarding the mystery inc crew, she’s highly motivated and always up for a good ghost hunt or criminal bust, as long as it involves danger and thrill. 

and all while she seems a bit weird, she’s a really nice girl, she’s polite and dedicated to her work, so no worries about that!

⚡️ nightly hangouts ; if your muse is a night owl like thorn, they might be known for hanging out together during the witching hours. activities can range from jamming out to drinking and partying, causing trouble or maybe reading to each other.

☄️ the curing ; since thorn has been learning from her dad, she has a basic knowledge of drugs and medicine in general. when your muse storms into the pharmacy at an ungodly hour with something like a high fever, thorn struggles with knowing what to do, still.

🌏 traveling around the world ; transylvania? dark tourist? just a backpack with a few shirts and worn out sneakers? it is time to explore and go everywhere and anywhere.

🍂 secret crush ; maybe something that had been going on for a while, filled with uncertainty, but with a step into the right direction things finally go further after just not knowing how the other person was feeling. maybe a cute confession of feelings during a private ball, surrounded by pumpkins and soft rock music.

🍄 cursed object ; behind a shed somewhere, both of you find a small, voodoo-looking doll. huh? why does this doll look slightly familiar and why is there a pin in its heart? (taken by JANGMI)

🔮 the search ; the forbidden little house of the lost witch in the woods surrounding oakhaven had always been in the back of the mind of boram since she was a child. you set out on a daytrip, trying to locate her. while you do not find her, you do find her house and can’t believe what you find inside.

hiya! i’m shu (21+, s/h) & here’s my babby myo kiwoo, local mom’s friend’s son who’s staging a very delayed teenage rebellion right now, hehe. i don’t have a proper bio up for him yet, but here are his stats, other facts & plots! below the cut is a sketch of his background, so ♡ this if you’d like to plot~

moved when he was three to the US for his dad’s promotion, but the move strained his parents’ relationship. growing up, he felt responsible for keeping the family together through making them proud & giving his parents something to be happy with, through studies & sports

the gang was his first real group of friends that wasn’t just a bunch of hyper competent gifted kids put into a class to compete against each other & pretend to be friends or volleyball teammates he didn’t really know or make an effort to, so he really! really! values his friends!

he’s also a huge nerd & loves conspiracy theories & complicated anime, all of which culminated in a fascination with mysteries, so he really enjoyed trying to solve the mysteries around crystal cove w the gang, even if most of them turned out to be non-supernatural

however, his parents decided that the tomfoolery they got up to wasn’t acceptable by high school, and as always, he complied :( he was probably the first crack in the gang’s friendship, starting to drift from them in their senior year of hs

this trajectory continued into college, with him trying to acquiesce to his parents’ wishes while finding something he likes for himself -- see: entering their county’s highest ranked uni & joining the volleyball club, but double majoring in forensic science & business

in his sophomore year he realised that this? kinda sucks? being so careful about everything & trying to please everyone only drains him of energy & it doesn’t even work, so! he’s not doing that anymore!

rlly just said fuck it! he dropped business as a major, dropped the vball club, grew out his hair & just generally stopped giving too many fucks. he’s stepping up to take the initiative w the gang again & try to make amends & get back into some mystery solving with his friends! that’s what he wants to do!

there are rumours about him using the gang for attention & that he’s too straight laced to stray from the path, that this is all just temporary bc he’s ditched them once, but his delayed teenage rebellion is only just beginning, so watch out!

he’s also currently interning in the forensics dept of the ccpd & lowkey snooping around for ~interesting mysteries~ lol

ngl he’s based more on bokuto from haikyuu & mikoshiba from gsnk, personality wise! big & loud, speaks without thinking & sometimes Regrets it, 0-100 in the blink of an eye. secret dork, pretending to be cool B) ( facts page has a more in-depth look into his personality! )

not the sharpest knife in the drawer but they do know more than they let on about things + can give good advice in the shape of something a little more odd/ominous/confusing

howdy! i’m shu ( she/her, gmt+8 ) & this is my girl kim bora! i applied on impulse & have nothing ready so pls just refer to this post for all info until i update it ig D: on to miss bora! she’s basically eccentric and hard to understand and sometimes very competitive but also very grounded in a way, she’s the one who’s trying to keep the hex kids together basically lmao :D a believer of the supernatural ( obv ), super respectful about the smallest things and kinda just quietly self-destructive so pls watch out D:

youngest girl after five older brothers, all of whom have been perfect at one single thing: internationally acclaimed journalist, olympic level athlete, coo of a huge mnc, highly decorated military officer, neurosurgeon who revolutionised brain transplants. & then there’s her, who went into showbiz because it was the only field without one of her brothers in it already and she hasn’t managed to make a name for herself still

so she’s got a huge inferiority complex about this, her lackluster achievements ( topping the billboard charts means shit because she’s only the afterthought ); hides it by being overly optimistic and cheerful and supportive

she doesn’t want to be the back up singer, but she’s also ( it seems? ) the only one of the three currently who want them to stay together... rip :(

secretly very very competitive, but years of being told she’s not good enough has buried it such that she only tries really really hard and dies a little when she fails, & she’s too eager to please because she needs the compliments and love

she’s a huge people person! she draws people to her so easily because she’s so good at putting on that wonderful, charming front ( and honestly is just a rlly nice person ) but get any closer and it implodes because everything beneath the surface impression is explosive and murky and hard to navigate, with her insecurities and need to be better and fear of being forgotten/ignored

quietly self-destructive; she’s not loud about it but she drinks a lot, pulls all nighters to record one verse to perfection, overexerts herself for people because she needs to, can never say no if you ask... someone save her

also the calmest of the hex bunch (according to the wiki i read about luna lmao), she’s not very impulsive and generally really level headed in a luna lovegood kinda way, grounded in reality that most people don’t perceive so she seems weird ( & is weird lbr ) but usually manages to make the most sound decisions

genuinely loves singing & performing, just wishes she wasn’t shafted to the side for it; she needs to be perfect, but she’s only very very good.

yeehaw ! i’m cherry and i’m so excited to be here ! i heckin love scooby doo and i love scooby doo and the witch’s ghost even more so Naturally, i had to take up thorn’s canon !! that said, this is YIFEI ( who also goes by thorn ! ), a hex girl and also that bitch™️ who takes no shit. definitely does wiccan rituals from time to time and is a believer in the supernatural. currently branching out more as a solo artist, which has caused a rift between her and the other hex girls bc of gossip. you can find her profile here and i’ll leave some stuff under the cut regarding her background ! as usual, if you’d like to plot, please like this post !!

background — born in chengdu, later moved to crystal cove when she was thirteen. eldest daughter syndrome where she had a ton of burden placed on her to care for her 3 younger siblings. kinda triggered this rebellious streak around her late teens when she got sick of having all the responsibility but getting the most shit for everything too. she outwardly stopped giving a shit about what her parents thought of her, but deep down, she still wants to prove them wrong and show them that she can amount to something great without needing them.

yifei — charming if you aren’t put off by the strong, intimidating aura radiating off her. hardworking and super passionate about music. friendlier when drunk/stoned/crossed.  hot and knows it. sweeter to those she’s close with and can also be the mom friend at strange times. very vocal about things and can get harsh with her words without realising. selfish and unwilling to let go of a lot of things. a destructive rage. talk shit, get hit kinda mindset. bottles up everything until it leads to one big explosion. respectful towards nature and eco-conscious, trying to live sustainably such as composting stuff, buying clothes from sustainable brands, supporting local farmers, all that jazz.

the hex girls — started the band with luna and dusk after they graduated high school, leading to birth of the hex girls ! she’s the lead singer and the guitarist of the band. currently trying out going solo, but she does still do stuff with the hex girls. very hesitant to leave.

thorn — still keeps the hex girls stage name as her soloist name. it’s only been around three months since she first released a solo track. as for her solo work, i’m gonna go ahead and claim muna’s and cyn’s discographies for it... *plays believer on repeat*

the scandal — word about her going solo has blown out of proportion. gossip tabloids and shit are basically saying she’s sick of the hex girls, that she pulled a t-ara hw*ryung and was Not Nice to the other members which is why she’s ditching them. the fact that she lives up to her label, the vixen, doesn’t really help.

currently — trying to ignore the gossip but failing. it’s got her constantly on the edge, a lot more harsh than usual, and she’s just really frustrated about it 😔still working on solo stuff, but she’s lowkey more reluctant about releasing them. aside from putting this energy into her work, she’s also been coping by amping up the self-indulgence 🥵

LIKES: curling up on a chilly day with a good book, comfortable sweaters, going to the zoo, learning new things, sneaking into abandoned places after midnight, writing letters he doesn’t have the nerve to send, iced coffe, cleaning the house & interviewing interesting people .

DISLIKES: hot weather, sappy movies, anything that is too cluttered / too messy, greasy food, people who are too secretive, being put on the spot, having to run, people with no sense of humor ( even though he’s often accused of being that way himself ), complacency, trashy gossip columns, lying for the sake of having a ‘good story’ .

TIDBITS . . .

he was raised by a single mother ( noah always thought his parents were in love because, well, why wouldn’t they be? however when he was 5, his dad just picked up and left one day. apparently he had confessed to his wife that he’d been having an affair since before noah was born and basically, he thought that noah would make things better between them but didn’t )

noah was born in seoul, south korea but his mother moved the two of them to crestle cove because she had an aunt who lived there and constantly sang its praises . . . but she neglected to tell them how haunted it was.

noah’s dad ran off with that woman, but still writes letters to the son he left behind every year for noah’s birthday. he hasn’t had the heart to open a single one of them.

his mother was a guidance counselor at crestle cove high school and actually helped to expose one of the teachers who was having an illegal relationship with one of the seniors. she was the whistle-blower after overhearing a conversation between the two of them; eunyoung worked closely with the investigators and the journalists to bring the guy down. this was the first time noah realized how much journalists can help people and he was only 9!

he hides behind his words and bad jokes . . . there are also lots of pop culture references.

dumbass gets really existential when he’s sad. :-(

he’s basically afraid of everything and that’s why he admires the mystery inc. gang so much . . . to him, they couldn’t possibly be afraid of anything. when he starts to notice all the smear campaigns and efforts to run them out of town, he wants to make their voices heard and help out.

PLOTS . . .

01. tell me : someone who noah is trying to get a good, concrete read on so he can learn more about them and why they are the way but they are. however, this person isn’t so keen on the idea of some dork coming in and sticking his nose in business wherein it doesn’t belong.

02. bad influence : the two of them are a complete wreck when they’re together. any good ideas fly out the window and they’re constantly just ... messing around. “should we go rob a bank?” “um no???” “why not?” “because i don’t want to go to jail” and they bicker about it a lot but they decide to just drive around and talk about nothing.

03. you know what you do : these two have no clue what to make of the other. maybe noah came on too strong when he was trying to get to know them and scared them off, or maybe they did something that rubbed noah the wrong way. regardless, they’re not the biggest fans of each other and, honestly, the stuff the papers write about this person is a little true ( and maybe he calls / writes it in.... the hypocrite )

04. maybe an ex? : yeah no an ex. they dated and it didn’t work out. maybe they dated for a week or maybe a year. for whatever reason, things fell apart ( tbh noah probably ruined it with his radioactive emotions or w/e ) but they still hang out because they have to. it’s hard because things weren’t ended on the best terms so maybe a lot of bickering, glaring, etc.

and ofc friends! noah takes the task of gaining people’s trust very seriously and ( not to toot his own horn lol ) but he’s very loyal! you know, like a golden retriever. 

BASICALLY . . .

he just wants to help out any way he can! he’s afraid of the repercussions and hopes that working with mystery incorporated will allow him to overcome that fear ( but will it? )
