oh my god please tell us about your girldad and his relationship to a cannibalistic house in the pnw bc that sounds so directly up my alley i LOVE pnw horror as someone from there. southern gothic this southern gothic that lets talk about when youre so far in the woods no one could hear you scream and the forest feels like it's closing in on you and was that branch snapping a deer or something else through the fog and the old houses creaking under mildew and rot.. yeah sorry anyway please do tell us. if you're willing to. obvs

first of all LITERALLY PNW GOTHIC IS THE MOST UNDERRATED HORROR/AMERICANA GENRE. the more i talk to my friends from the south and especially Appalachia the more i'm like wow we are the same just one of us has a lot more fog and our white people experience slightly different flavors of spiritual psychosis. twin peaks and gravity falls are documentaries to me. look at these pictures from my camera roll

ANYWAY Alan was originally an NPC for a high school campaign where i played a 14 year old sharpshooter who realized he was gay because of Humphrey Bogart, but then my bestie let me play him in the sequel game and i got a little too crazy about him. he was a cop in the 70s and then he got recruited to work for this setting's version of the X files with a team of 2 other people (the previously mentioned t4t4t psychosexual throuple). eventually they get sent out to yakima WA to investigate a magic occurrence and said occurrence is an eldritch monster that's taken over a house in the woods hermit-crab style. it eats Alan and one of his partners, but the organization they work for is only able to revive Alan via magic. they do not tell Alan that he died and he doesn't find out until like 35 years later in the final arc of the campaign <3 also the house did successfully eat one of his legs.

he adopted one of the PCs of the high school campaign along with her like,,, magic mirrorverse twin? and he is just okay at being a dad but he loves it so much. he reconnected with his other partner during the campaign and they've been having a beautiful transsexual middle aged romance. uhh what else. he's ex-catholic and he has a full back tattoo of Saint Lucy. he ran a semifamous paranormal blog in the 90s. he's a movie nerd. his mom tried to have him exorcised. he has a dog named Buttercup. he smokes weed every night. his current best friend is a 20something werewolf who's trying out they/them pronouns. i think about him once a day and when i don't i start feeling nauseous.
