I know Scrying Workshop is to see all the options available to customize a dragon (and have dream/goal dragons) but woah it is becoming overwhelming with all the options available.
I know some players make their lair mono based on new Ancient release (and modern too) but it's becoming overwhelming for me collecting dragons. Like I still enjoy the game but scrying Gen 1s has become something more like 1 out of 24 possible breeds. Like yay! New breed and new genes but I still don't know what I want to do with them. Scrying the Dusthide as an Earth and Light Rep sounds challenging (not to mention that the Auraboa's I scried ended up being non-possible XYZ's)

I undressed 14 of my perma dragons, all level 25 with stones (except for Arisna), all gen 1, all unbred, most with a gem gene or two, some with art. Moved them to their own tab, so I can see if I will miss them. I still think most of them look really nice; they just don’t really ‘spark joy’ anymore. Owning dragons has never really been my thing when it comes to FR, weird as it sounds. I mostly like hatching eggs, collecting (familiars, treasure/gems) and doing crazy coliseum challenges.
I have been playing since July 2013 and I guess I am kind of bored of the dragons. I tend to scry the same shit too, so a lot of dragons felt too similar. Sometimes it takes a little time to realize I don’t like something. Such as the colour blue and obelisks.
I will let them hang out there for a while and then start putting them up on the AH. It’s going to be tough getting a decent price for them, but that’s okay. If you want to take a peek, check out the source of this post.

Day 11- favorite gen one
Frankenstein! I'm sharing a scry of her because she hasn't gotten her new genes yet.
She's actually NOT my favorite genone. She's my third fav. I've already shared my top two genones for this challenge (Nike and Inkdrop)
Franky here is made out of parts of different deceased dragons. Although she is her own dragon, sometimes she has dreams in which she can see the memories of those whose body parts are now a part of her.

Wasting No Time
Yay it’s pynch secret santa gift exchange time! My secret santa giftee is @alliwannadoiswrite :) They wanted some canon stuff, with college, the Barns, domestic fluff, Adam being psychic, among other things :) This does have spoilers for Call Down the Hawk! So if you haven’t read it yet, I would not suggest reading this until after you have! So I tried my best to weave all of these things in. I hope you like it. Happy Holidays! Thanks to @pynchpromptweek for getting this together :D
Adam couldn’t stop thinking about Ronan. This had become something common in the past year that they had almost been officially together. Being with Ronan and loving Ronan was something that had consumed Adam unexpectedly, and wholly. He did not regret one thing about it though. The languid summer nights that they had spent together before Adam went up to Cambridge, were some of the best memories Adam will ever have, and he cherished them greatly.
He also loved college life too. He had made his group of friends surprisingly quickly and found he cherished their friendship more than he anticipated. Though there was still plenty of room for their growth, and he knew he could never compare them to his friends back home. It was impossible to given the circumstances. But he now had given them a brief introduction to his other side, the world of magical forests, and demons, and boyfriends who had the power to take things out of his dreams. Their feet were in the door, and Adam was still hesitating on whether he should push them through or push them out and shut, lock the door and hide the key. Fletcher was still recovering from the trashed dorm room filled with dream crabs with human teeth, and a motorcycle that shouldn’t work but did. He did his best to hide it, but Adam knew that things had fundamentally changed between them. Adam was still trying to figure out if it was for better or worse.
Adam enjoyed most of his classes, though taking the ones that were gen ed requirements was sometimes like pulling teeth. His professors were all just a little bit quirky, but they all meant well. The coursework was challenging and stimulating, something that Adam used as a great distraction when his thoughts got too wild. The food wasn’t great, but Adam did not have high expectations. Anything would be better than what he lived off of growing up in Henrietta. He was thankful that he could have a steady three meals every day. Something he made sure to take advantage of no matter how busy he got. He would make the most of the thousands of dollars that meal plans cost; even with a full ride. And especially since he had to make up for the damage done to his dorm room.
Adam had tried to go on the next few weeks like everything was normal. Even if a nagging voice in the back of his mind constantly reminded him that no, everything was not fine. He watched as the leaves change color as autumn came in full swing. For the first time, he really felt what it meant for winter to be lurking around the corner. It was only early November, but Cambridge already had its first flurry of the year. That had come as a bit of a surprise to Adam, who wasn’t expecting any snow until at least after Christmas. After Halloween, the temperature seemed to drop twenty degrees, as if Mother Nature was antsy to get on with winter and leave autumn behind. He had found a Columbia jacket in one of the many thrift stores he and Gillian frequented in great condition, and bought it for himself at the advice of her. Gillian who had grown up in Saratoga Springs, New York, knew about cold winters.
Midterms were closing in on Adam faster than he thought. It felt as if he were just moving into his dorm yesterday, sweating through his shirt helping his roommate, and future friend Fletcher, move a mini-fridge up three flights of stairs in the middle of August. But even the summers in Cambridge were not nearly as bad, thanks to it being close to the Charles River and Boston Harbor. Unlike Henrietta which was landlocked deep in western Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley.
He was sitting in the library preparing for his big quiz he had to take tomorrow morning. Even with half of his hearing permanently missing, Adam still found the library restless. There were too many people in one place, who had the same idea as he did. Doing the last minute cramming for midterms they had coming up. But with too many people, and running into friends and colleagues, it turned to striking conversations, and then being too loud. Adam wished he had been able to book a study corral, but those went faster than hot concert tickets here. Even if the library had been completely silent, it wouldn’t have helped his own thoughts that seemed to be screaming.
He had attempted to scry this morning, feeling something just a bit off. The session wasn’t very successful, so he tried pulling some tarot cards. Adam was thankful Fletcher was such a heavy sleeper. The cards he pulled weren’t exactly worrisome to Adam, but he wasn’t exactly happy with the outcome either. It also did not help that Ronan seemed to be a little more elusive than usual. Adam hoped he wasn’t finding himself into too much danger. He couldn’t stop thinking about who this Bryde character was, and what they were doing with Ronan. Adam wanted to know more about him.
Finally, Adam huffed and closed his books. He glanced at the watch that Ronan had given him as a gift. Thankfully they were both in the same time zone, so the time displayed was accurate. Adam did the mental calculations quickly to see if he could swing the crazy idea that had formed in his head last night. He couldn’t stop thinking about it. It was still early in the day.
“Screw it,” he muttered to himself.
He practically swept all his books off the table and into his backpack and darted out of the library. He shoved the code into his door and rushed in. Fletcher was on his bed reading a book and he startled.
“Adam! What’s got you in a big hurry?” he asked.
Adam didn’t respond for a moment and was too busy replacing the books with some clothes, and other necessities because you never know. When he zipped his backpack up, he finally looked at Fletcher.
“Going home to visit Ronan,” he responded.
Fletcher’s mouth dropped and his eyes widened. “Like right now? Adam, we have a presentation tomorrow morning!”
Adam nodded. “Yeah, I know.”
Fletcher sputtered for a moment before shaking his head. “How are you getting all the way to Virginia?”
Adam shrugged his shoulders. “The motorcycle.”
“The motorcycle? Do you even have a helmet? Do you even know how to ride it?” he exclaimed.
“I’ll learn on the way. I promise, I’ll be there for Alexander’s class tomorrow,” Adam replied.
Fletcher murmured something under his breath and then heaved himself off the bed. Adam watched as he dug around in his closet for something and came out with a helmet. He tossed it to Adam who caught it.
“Doesn’t exactly go with the aesthetic, but my Vespa's helmet is better than no helmet. Also wear that leather jacket that Gill and you bought, it’s insulated. And wear gloves! Adam, your hands will be exposed. It’s cold out, and I don’t want you getting frostbite.”
Adam had to resist the urge to roll his eyes at his roommate’s dramatics but did as he was told anyway. He yanked the brown leather jacket and put it on over his t-shirt he was wearing. Adam didn’t own any actual gloves, but he did have a pair of gardening gloves he used when working in the greenhouse for his botany club he joined, thanks to his proctor who also ran the club. They would have to do.
“Okay, I gotta go. I’ll see you tomorrow!” Adam said as he ran out of the room with his helmet in tow.
“Be careful!” Fletcher called out after him.
Adam ran out of the building and went towards the place where he had hidden the illegal and impossible motorcycle. Adam didn’t even have a proper license for this, and he would just have to hope no cops pulled him over. He took his phone out of his pocket, just to make sure he was still good for time. And a small part of him hoped that Ronan had texted him something, anything. No cigar for that though.
“Ronan, you better be there,” he muttered before plugging in his headphones that Ronan dreamt for him and turning on a queue of audio files that had all his lectures on. Just because he made a whimsical decision based on slight psychic intuition did not mean his academic studies went on the back burner.
He looked down at the motorcycle that was between his legs. How hard could this possibly be? He knew the guts of these as well as he knew his own hand, thanks to working as a mechanic for most of his young life. He turned it on and hit the throttle a little to test it out. He lurched forward unexpectedly, and he let out a yelp. Finally, he got some semblance of control and made his way down.
There were definitely a few close calls, and he had nearly fallen a few times trying to get used to the motor underneath him. Thankfully the highway didn’t seem too busy even for a Sunday. He made it back to the Barns in good time, with the sun just over its zenith for the day. He pulled into the Barns but was hit with a sense of dread and unpleasantness. Adam couldn’t think straight, but it was eerily reminiscent to when Cabeswater was being unmade due to the demon that had been unleashed thanks to the Greenmantles. But Adam pushed through and when he left whatever invisible barrier that was there, it felt as if he was breathing properly after being underwater for too long. He still wanted to have the element of surprise for Ronan though and pulled up only halfway to the driveway. He cut the engine and made his way up by foot and snuck in through the back door. Adam knew Ronan was home because the BMW was in the driveway, but he didn’t know if he would be out in the fields or in the house.
Adam had made his way into the kitchen and saw Ronan. His first reaction was relief at seeing his boyfriend but then surprise at seeing the handgun being leveled at him by said boyfriend. Adam put his hands up.
“Jesus, Ronan, it’s me!” he exclaimed. He turned on the kitchen light so he could get a better look. He took off the helmet and tucked it under his arm, still eyeing the gun in Ronan’s hand. “You know how to take a surprise well.”
It had taken Adam back that Ronan seemed to be paranoid about something. He didn’t trust that Adam was really who he was. But he was just glad to be home and close to Ronan again. He had only talked to Ronan on the phone the night before, but it seemed so far away. When they hugged, Adam wrapped his arms tightly around Ronan and made sure to revel in this. How much he missed Ronan’s warmth, and how much he loved it too. He felt the thrumming of the ley line under his feet, the magic of the Barns and the man who lived in it. It made Adam feel alive in a way he didn’t at Harvard, no matter how much he liked it there. He made sure to wish Ronan an early happy birthday. Even if he only had three hours to spare here, he would make good use of every second.
He did not expect things to take such a sharp turn as they did. He had been thinking about Bryde, and he wanted to see what was up with him. What he did not expect was something too bright and horrible that words could not even begin to describe it. Adam had never seen or even felt anything like it before. Not even when he was being possessed by the Demon. It had shaken Adam a bit to find out that his heart had actually stopped beating for a moment when he was snapped back into his mind thanks to Ronan’s talon knife. It had been like a dream; he couldn’t possibly remember all the details but was left feeling even more uneasy than before. Normally, he was able to remember his scrying sessions with great detail. The fact that he couldn’t was worrisome to Adam. Something big was moving, and he didn’t know what. But it seemed to be aiming for Ronan and anyone associated with him. Which included Adam.
They both sat on the cold tile floor of the master bathroom. Ronan had gotten the first aid kit and was slowly cleaning the wound that had been inflicted on his hand. The antiseptic burned a little, but he let Ronan continue.
“Parrish, what the fuck did you see?” Ronan asked again.
Adam had remained silent for a while. The images though he could not properly articulate them, and could not fully remember them, still seemed to be burned in the back of his eyelids every time he blinked. Adam shook his head.
“I-I don’t know Ronan,” Adam said. His voice was hoarse, and his throat sore from letting out a guttural scream he didn’t recall doing.
“Whatever you saw, it made you scream as if you were dying. Adam, your heart literally stopped beating!” Ronan exclaimed.
Adam glared up at where Ronan sat on the toilet bowl lid. Of course, Adam knew that when he came to it felt as if his heart was going to beat right out of his chest. It felt as if he hadn’t breathed in years.
“I know, Lynch. I can’t describe it. It’s like a fading dream. But I know it wasn’t Bryde.”
“How do you know though?” Ronan asked.
He was still trying to stop the bleeding from the cuts that went all the way up his hand and arm. He dabbed a little more of the antiseptic on a cotton swab and gently rubbed it to sterilize. Adam let out a hiss. Ronan grunted, as his way of saying sorry. Adam took in a deep breath and let out a long exhale.
“I just know. It was dark, and it felt almost similar to the demon’s energy. But stronger?” he tried to explain.
Ronan’s eyes looked up from Adam’s arm and to Adam’s eyes. His eyebrows pinched and his lips formed a scowl.
“Stronger than the demon? Parrish, what the fuck does that mean?” he demanded.
Adam threw his hands up in the air in exasperation. “I don’t know Lynch! This entire situation just seems messed up. You’re seeing doppelgangers of your mother, and hearing voices in your dream that cause them to be uncontrollable? The energy I’ve been feeling when I scried and even when I pull cards feels off. Something weird is happening, and I think it’s bigger than just you and me.”
Ronan just let out a growl of frustration and didn’t push the subject any further. Which Adam was glad for. He didn't want this to ruin the small amount of time they had together. He wasted enough of it digging into things that he didn’t know the first thing about. Adam watched silently as Ronan finished cleaning his wounds and carefully wrapped bandages around it. When he was finished Ronan washed his hands and walked out. Adam followed.
Ronan was standing by the large window in the master bedroom. The sun was setting, casting long shadows and the bright glow of the evening sun. Ronan’s body was tensed up, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. Adam padded up quietly next to him and forced his hand to intertwine with Ronan’s.
“This is fucked,” Ronan finally said.
Adam did not disagree. “Yeah, it is. But we’ll find a way through it.”
Ronan turned his attention from the outside world and gave it to Adam. Adam would always be grateful for Ronan and the unconditional love he had given Adam when Adam had never been offered it. Adam was already meeting Ronan halfway when it came to that. The sunlit up half of Ronan’s face while covering the other half in shadows. The light made his ice irises even more stunning than usual. His lips were in the usual scowl, but somehow it was softer.
“How do you know?” he wondered.
Adam squeezed his hand. “Because we’re stronger together.”
He watched as Ronan did his smoker’s breath and closed his eyes for a long moment. When he opened them back, Adam put a hand behind his head, feeling the bristles of the shaved hair and rubbed his thumb back and forth. He watched as Ronan’s pupils dilated, and gently pulled him down for a kiss. Ronan was more than happy to oblige Adam’s request. After a few moments, Adam released. He smirked at his boyfriend.
“Now, we only have a few hours. And I did say I needed to take your clothes off, so since we’re here…” he teased, leaving the rest for Ronan to figure out.
Ronan let out a harsh bark of laughter and rolled his eyes. He gently pushed Adam’s head away, which elicited a laugh from Adam.
“Parrish, you fucker.”
Adam grabbed Ronan by the collar of his t-shirt and dragged him to the bed before pushing him down. Adam then climbed on top of Ronan.
“Well, that’s kind of the point isn’t it?” he asked with a smirk.
“Not what I meant, shithead,” Ronan growled.
“Let’s not waste any more time, Lynch. I’m on a tight schedule.”
Ronan scoffed but pulled Adam down and into a deep kiss.

[fanfic] Rebirth of Kaiser: chapter 21
Yuusuke settled down at the table the dark general provided and unpacked his tools. Scrying wasn’t one of his greatest strengths by any means, but right now, he was willing to try anything in order to find Ryou.
Juudai says darkness is everywhere. So let’s find out.
He knew that on some level, the statement remained absolutely true. Darkness was everywhere. Now he had to use it.
A black bowl that he’d carved himself – it wasn’t necessary in these days for a magician’s tools to be all self-made, but Yuusuke liked doing it himself. He wanted to be certain that it was done correctly.
He filled it with clear water before taking a small foldable lantern out of his bag and lighting it. He didn’t really need it to see: he needed the flickering shadows it would cast.
One last item: Ryou’s bag. Yuusuke’s fingers trembled at the feel of it. It wasn’t one he was used to seeing, but this was his key towards finding Ryou in the first place. He breathed in and out, bringing himself to absolute calm, before he focused his attention on the shadows stretching out over the water.
Ryou. Where are you?
This wouldn’t be even close to the easiest thing he’d ever done. The spell itself wasn’t hard at all. But finding Ryou, that was going to be a little more difficult.
He needed to focus on Ryou as he was now. Not Ryou the adult who’d slipped away or Ryou the teenager that he’d gone to school with.
But Ryou, the duel spirit of unknown name, of very limited known effects, of great strength.
He gazed at the shadows and water, putting his mind at ease, or doing his best to do so. It wasn’t that easy to be at ease when tiny thoughts flickered back into his awareness at a moment’s notice.
Can I do this? I’ve never tried to find a Duel Spirit before.
Is he all right? What if something happened to him?
Why did Cyber Harpie take him in the first place?
He strained to get his thoughts calm over and over, breathing a little harder each time, staring into the water as the light and shadows danced together. Images flickered across it, nothing very clear, but the shapes of people moving around. Not just people, either. He couldn’t be sure of what those were, but they existed in the water and shadows all the same.
The more he tried the harder it was to focus. He settled himself down yet again and breathed, trying not to ripple the water. That might not break the spell, but Yuusuke didn’t want to take the chance.
He wasn’t at all sure of how much time this took. Under normal circumstances, scrying could take hours. It might already have. He wasn’t going to stare at a clock, not now.
So he stared. So he searched. So he looked for anything that would link him to Ryou.
Fujiwara-kun?
Yuusuke blinked at the soft voice echoing through his mind. With how deep he’d been in the search for Ryou, it took a few moments for him to recognize it.
Juudai-kun?
I heard you in the shadows. What’s wrong?
Yuusuke breathed for a few seconds, trying to wrap his head around this. He knew Juudai could sense when he used his shadow magic, but he’d never spoken to him like this before.
Ryou’s gone. Missing. He let the images flicker through his mind, the way that Cyber Harpie dropped down from above, the sleeping spell, and what little he’d learned after that.
Still haven’t found him? Juudai could frown with his words. Yuusuke tilted his head a bit; he’d been so focused on finding Ryou that he’d forgotten what the Dark General told him, about the message via Hane Kuriboh and that Juudai intended to be there in a few days.
No. I’ve just started looking, really. Yuusuke tried to turn his attention back to the search but it wasn’t going as well as he would have wanted.
Huh. I didn’t think it would be this difficult. Yuusuke could feel Juudai thinking. He wasn’t sure of what Juudai thought about, but the awareness of his thinking pervaded the shadows.
Then there was another presence right behind Juudai’s awareness. Yuusuke couldn’t tell what it was, only that it was there and that Juudai’s attention turned toward it for a few seconds.
Juudai-kun?
Hold on. This won’t take long.
Yuusuke tried to focus on the scrying, trusting to Juudai to know what he was doing. It seemed to him that there were faint images of Ryou, but nowhere nearly clear enough for him to pin down where he was.
It was almost as if Ryou wasn’t quite who he thought he was anymore. As if he didn’t know who he was looking for.
Then a hand touched on the back of his and he looked to find himself staring into a pair of glimmering golden eyes.
“Let’s do this together,” the Herald of the Gentle Darkness said. Any words Yuusuke might’ve had choked in his throat and he nodded quickly.
Together they stared at the shimmering light on the water, shadows dancing this way and that. Since he was fifteen and first started learning what he could about the magic of darkness and shadows, Yuusuke found himself linked to the shadows at all times. But now the shadows were so much more, wrapped around him, holding him close and warm.
“Of course you feel it. Because of me.” The Herald chuckled at that. This didn’t quite feel like Juudai, Yuusuke realized, but he didn’t need Juudai. He needed darkness incarnate. “Come on. We’re looking for Ryou, remember.”
Yuusuke focused back, recalling that thought he’d had before. “Is it possible that he’s changed somehow? Or that he’s still asleep? Would that interfere?”
“Sleeping, probably not. The spell looks for what someone is, not what they’re doing.” The Herald considered, eyes glimmering in the darkness. “But changed, that’s not impossible. It would help if your image of who he is and his image of who he is are the same thing.”
That got a stirring of something. Yuusuke wasn’t sure of what it was, but the words tugged at him, leading down a path of thought that he slowly tried to speak.
“He’s a spirit. We don’t know his name or most of his effects. But if whoever has him figured it out and told him… would that change him enough so that I can’t find him?”
The Herald said nothing, but his gaze shifted over to one side. Yuusuke glanced in that direction and wasn’t surprised to see Yubel standing there. Their head tilted to one side in thought for a few moments before nodding slowly.
“Knowing one’s true name and abilities is very central to a spirit’s existence. It could take time to accept them but once they’re known they become a part of us.”
The Herald tapped a finger in thought. “So what we need to do is find him and we can’t do that because he’s somehow figured out his new real name and his effects, or at least enough of them so he’s changed enough so the spell as we can do it won’t affect him.”
Yuusuke’s fingers tightened into fists. “Then what do we do?” He wasn’t going to just sit around and do nothing while Ryou was off somewhere. He’d come here to find his friend again and under no circumstances would he change that.
“We find him so we can find him.” The Herald grinned in a way so very similar to Juudai before turning toward Yubel. “Since we brought him back as a spirit, isn’t there a connection of same kind?”
“Yes. It’s very slender, much like a thread, and I would not try to track it – under normal circumstances. It could affect him.” Yubel’s eyes warmed a touch, one hand resting on the Herald’s shoulder.
“It’s happened before,” he murmured, raising his hand to brush against Yubel’s.
Yuusuke wasn’t at all certain of what they meant, but now wasn’t the time to ask, either. They could work this out later.
“It won’t be enough to find where he is. But I think we can at least find out his name and possibly his effects.” Yubel added. Yuusuke nodded before he turned more towards them, shoulders high and tight with tension.
“Whatever you’re doing, then if at all possible, I want to help. Ryou’s my friend.” And he’d hoped once they could have been more than friends, but that hadn’t panned out.
Dying did tend to affect one’s romantic prospects, after all.
The Herald and Yubel exchanged the quickest of glances; so quick that Yuusuke might not have even seen it if he hadn’t been looking. Then they both nodded and held their hands out toward him. He took them, one hand with faint dragon scales and the other hardened from a life of wandering. He tightened his grip just as the darkness engulfed all three of them.
The moment that it did, Yuusuke couldn’t feel their hands. He knew they were there; he hadn’t moved and they hadn’t moved, and the awareness of their presence remained the whole time. So did the darkness, thick and enfolding and comforting, a presence as alive as could be. Warm and supporting, it sank into every bit of him.
I think we should tell you. Doing this could affect you. And your magic.
It will? Yuusuke didn’t think that he spoke. The Herald’s words whispered into his mind, as close as his breath.
Don’t know for sure. We’ve never done this before. But it could happen. You’ll have to see once we’re done.
Yuusuke wondered what the effect would be, if one occurred at all. Now wasn’t the time to discuss so much. Now was the time to find Ryou.
Right. Find yourself, first of all. Know who you are and what you are, and what you could be.
Yuusuke wasn’t certain of what was meant by that, but he tried anyway. He was Fujiwara Yuusuke, formerly of Obelisk Blue. He was Honest’s partner – Honest who stood outside the door and waited for him so patiently. He’d once been the pawn of Darkness, but now he stood by the side of the Herald of Darkness, striving to redress all the wrongs he’d done once upon a time.
He worked for Industrial Illusions. His task was to create cards for those spirits who didn’t have them and who wanted them: like Ryou. Ryou, who’d been his friend for years, who wanted his memories back and the truth of who he’d been and who he was and who he might be.
And who might he be? He hadn’t missed what the Herald insinuated: the change could make him other than human. He could become a spirit as well. And if he were, what kind? A spellcaster? A demon? An angel?
Too many options for him to guess, but he knew the answer at the bottom regardless. It was the same for Ryou: that underneath it all, he was and would always be himself.
Ryou would forever be Hell Kaiser, a duelist of raw power and strength, who respected those who earned his respect, and who had learned the hard way that he should never underestimate anyone, regardless of events. No matter his name or what he could do, that was what Ryou was, and anything else would be little more than window dressing.
The window dressing is important, though. It’s what sets one window apart from another. So what does he look like now?
The image rose in his mind without a bit of effort. Tall, with blue hair and tinged skin, pointed ears, wrapped in black leather from head to foot. Ryou’s essence all but shimmered in Yuusuke’s mind. Wrapped around him in that image there glowed a thread, slender and dark, that emerged from his heart.
That’s it. That’s the bond that was created when he became a spirit. Follow it.
Yuusuke didn’t know how he moved but he did regardless. Ryou was out there somewhere, and he wasn’t going to give up finding him.
To Be Continued
Notes: Time to lead to the first story’s wrap-up!

Hi! So, in relatively new to the fr comm. (I've known about it since December but kept on missing the sign up dates) and I'm just generally confused about all the XXY stuff and first gen. What makes all of this so important? Also, how do you do a breeding project? Idk I'm just so lost rn but I rlly want to get involved in the community XD
Hey there, welcometo FR! I've been here for quite a while, so I'm happy to help answerany questions. I hope you like it here, it can be a lot of fun whenyou find your niche.
XXY refers to adragon's colors, primary/secondary/tertiary. So, for example, ablue/blue/orange dragon is XXY, a blue/orange/orange dragon is XYY,and a blue/blue/blue dragon is XXX. XXY's and XYY's are also calleddoubles, and XXX's are also called triples.
First gen is shortfor first generation, a dragon with no parents because it came from aspecial item, an unhatched egg. You can get them from scavenging, andthe element of the egg and the dragon that will hatch from it is thesame as the element of the area you scavenged it from. People likegen ones because they don't have parents, which makes it a blankslate for lore, and because they represent a challenge, since theyhatch as a basic breed with all basic genes and randomized colors. Ittakes a lot of treasure, and some luck, to make a gen one look fancy.Because the colors are randomized, XXY's and the like are morevaluable when they're gen ones, because there was a much smallerchance of this totally randomized dragon having two or even all threematching colors. Also it usually looks nice. The gen one market usedto be really lucrative, but lately prices are low and it can be hardto sell even doubles and triples, so if you're interested in buying agen one and fancying it up, now's a good time for it.
Breeding projectsgenerally start with seeing or coming up with a dragon you want, andthat you can't buy on the auction house. Maybe you were playingaround in the scrying workshop and came up with a beautiful dragonthat doesn't exist yet. Maybe you want to make a fandragon withspecific colors based on your favorite character. You can start abreeding project with 2 outcomes in mind: either to breed the exactdragon that will be born with the colors, genes, and breed you want,or to breed a dragon in the with genes and breed as close as you canget, and buy the remaining scrolls to make it perfect. If thecolor/gene combo is unusual, it's unlikely you'll find 2 dragons inthe AH that will make the perfect offspring first time. You mighthave to breed a pair with a chance of throwing your perfect dragonseveral times until it hatches because only one of them has the genesyou want, or their color range isn't perfect. You might even have todo a multi-generational breeding project, if there's nothing that canbreed your exact dragon, but can breed something close, which you canthen breed with ANOTHER dragon for a chance of your perfect hatch.Honestly, I usually don't have enough patience for long breedingprojects, so I try to stick to dragons with short cooldowns and agood chance of having what I want when I do them.
If you're interestedin getting into the community, making an FR only tumblr, preferablynot a sideblog so you have the full range of options to interact withpeople, is a great way to start. Lots of people make introductory“I'm a new FR blog, please reblog this if you're an FR blog too soI can follow you” posts to help them find people to follow quickly, and this can sometimes get you new followers looking for the samething. There's lots of different areas of the community to find whatyou like best in! If you like to write stories about your dragons, there are a lot of lore clans who do the same. If you like organizingevents or being a part of something, maybe look into your flight'sdom organization. If you like fighting in the coliseum, then you cancontribute to dominance and profits pushes, or level dragons forother people for a fee. There's a lot of great people on FR, andyou'll definitely meet them no matter what niche you find.

My first GenOne Project - FINISHED
I’ve always wanted to fully gen a GenOne. Been searching for a perfect derg for a couple of months. I found very pretty GenOne’s but they where all male.... And I wanted a female (don’t aks me why, because I don’t know :) ) A couple of days ago I found a pretty GenOne Fae on the AH, Lobatus.
Fun fact, she was hatched on valentines day. After experimenting with her in the Scrying Workshop, she turnout really pretty. I was in love and bought her.
Today I fully genned her and changed her name from Lobatus to Valerie. And now the biggest challenge, to customize her!
