Nobody said that to her on this post that I can tell, but given that I found myself and my own replies blocked and deleted all I can speak for is my own comments. All I had said (in the tags, so that it wouldn't be permanently appended to the original post, in response to someone else saying that it really isn't fucking comparable to food recalls) was "this post contains good, important information, but can we please just be respectful to folks who are too scared to transition in our current political climate?"

What does the random shot at "TMEs" even accomplish here aside from just attacking people?

Nobody said you had to agree. Nobody said the post was bad. Nobody even—to my knowledge—said that OP or trans femmes generally must have it easy, at least on this post, that she hasn't deleted or blocked. Which would be fair if she did because that is an unfair and unkind thing to say. Why is it so fucking hard for people to just listen to and tolerate other trans people's opinions and experiences right now?

Why is it so hard to comprehend that some of us are not making excuses, that we are scared for our lives, and that you cannot force someone who is afraid for their life (among other valid barriers for entry up to and including financial reasons, medical reasons, not everyone needing E to transition and DIY T being considered A FELONY, etc.) to just get over that so easily?

Oh. Of course. Because OP doesn't think you're even valid as a trans person if you aren't looking to seek out transition at this time. God forbid you have reasons to wait, because those are all just excuses that you could just get over easily if you were A Real Transexual™

You realize people can imply things with their words and actions without stating them outright, right? You understand that people can "misunderstand" things willfully, right? And that sometimes something can be wilfully misunderstood with the intent to warp the original message?

But you know what. Why not assume that both interpretations are equally correct.

OP was discussing a pattern of people seemingly willfully interpreting the comic in a specific way.

So what is the throughline of these comments?

What might motivate someone to interpret this comic in a way that they specifically do not have to interpret someone as trans masculine?

Might that not say something about the mindset of those who insist that's the only way the comic can be interpreted?

But. Like. Look, I know there's a whole post under this, but this is ALREADY such bullshit on the face of it without even reading more. To say nothing for the rest of us who AREN'T binary trans men (Who OP snidely dismisses as saying we Might be effected by Some Problems "nuance exists ig maybe bigender people or something might take the hit I don’t know I haven’t had a chance to ask everyone on earth yet. Thanks"), but binary trans men can't even say they're AS oppressed as other trans people because they're TOO MAN to be mistreated for being wrong men or wrong women (or -GASP- BOTH at the same time?? Unheard of) I guess. They can't even say they get victimized equally as often. Like yeah, maybe they aren't victimized in the Exact Same Ways Every Single Time (even though YES sometimes it IS in the same ways too!) or that people are equally bigoted against us. This is SUCH a bad time to be this divisive by playing these fucking oppression olympics games. We would not have to play these games if people were not TELLING US WE'RE LESSER TRANS PEOPLE and then just expecting us to be okay with that!

No one said it's not bad. I'm trans and I hate what he said about trans people. I vehemently disagreed with that sentiment because that's me and my literal family members he was talking about. But I'm not willing to unilaterally shit all over everything the most progressive Pope we've ever had has ever said or done just because one of the things he said slighted me personally, even if it's one of the biggest issues that I care about because it's generally good practice not to throw the baby out with the bath water. You don't have to like the guy or agree with everything he said to simply be objective about the more progressive values he held.

Sometimes people have to be weaned off conservative values and eased into more progressive ones and Catholics follow what the Pope preaches. Do you want more progressive Catholics or less?

I would link you the blog that has all the compiled information on why he's an unsavory person, but I have issues with how excessive, unnecessary, and borderline hate-brigading the documentation on that particular blog is. They have good points, but I think that anyone accusing S/al/e/m of trans fetishism in any way can preeetty much shut the fuck up. It's not a good argument against supporting a trans artist and actually borders on transphobia because it's clear that some people just happen to find it icky that he draws fat trans men who don't pass as cis when those people exist in real life. I actually used to like Sa/l/e/m for depicting dudes who I felt looked like he and I and some of the other dudes I know, so that was pretty much never a good argument.

I think it's more important to focus on his past as P/up/py/ch/an where he racefaked as Asian, something I have never seen an apology for; only ever attempts to just sweep it under the rug and forget it happened, which is very very NOT the same as having grown and changed as a person without the apology.

AND the fact that he's dating W/is/g/o/a/t and thus, seemingly, is just okay with the vile garbage she spews about transmasculine people, which is my main problem with W/i/s.

There is more, and worse, but I haven't looked into it particularly heavily because the above information is all I feel I need to drop these two like steaming hot potatoes.

I recommend looking at w/o/lf/er/t/i/n/g/er/9/99 because the one without any numbers (written the exact same way you wrote it, wo/lf/er/ti/n/g/er, with nothing else) is the aforementioned screenshot compilation blog that, while they may have had good intentions at first, I think has really lost the plot in the pursuit of documenting the misdeeds and ugly opinions of W*s and S*l*m and become a straight up hate blog. You'll know if you're in the right place if the OP has even a remote understanding of how commas work in sentences!

Not to mention the fact that tingle was invented by Japanese people who seem to have a different perception in their culture of GNC AMAB folks than we do in the West. Tingle comes across a bit more like what the Japanese would refer to as otokonoko, a man with a feminine sense of self expression, and a word that has more connections to the gay community, rather than newhalf which is generally used to describe trans folks. He definitely reads more as a gay guy.
