Soapghost angst thought of the day
Mwiii spoilers
-
The thought is just The Good Side by Troye Sivan as it is previously secretly engaged ghoap. With Soap signing to Ghost from the afterlife

Soap is happy to be free of all the pain that his life was in the military, and is apologizing to Ghost that he was the one who got out, and apologizing to Ghost that he left him behind
Don’t mind some lyric dissection in the tags

Id like to compliment your hebrew song choices for translation, if youd like no criticism stop reading here and סופ״ש נעים
If you dont mind, id like to note that the approach you seem to be taking prioritises approximating a 1:1 ratio between the original lyrics and your translations rather than conveying the meaning and imagery more eloquently. I feel that a lot of the beauty of the original text is lost when you go about it like this, maybe you should read english prose to get a feel for a natural and smooth lyricsm. Much love.
first of all, THANKS!
second of all, you are VERY right, this is a very deliberate choice, and it has its downsided
For the monolinguals: any complicated text CANNOT be actually translated one-to-one. all translations flow between "literal text oriented" and "meaning oriented", between "original grammar following" to "translated grammar following", and how much the meter and rhymes are kept.
My favorite example is the second verse of Ecclesiastes. In hebrew it goes like this:
"הבל הבלים אמר קהלת, הבל הבלים הכל הבל"
How would you translate it?
Let's start by writing the text in english letters, so the problem is more easily shown:
Hevel Havalim amar Kohelet, Hevel Havalim haokl Hevel
Now let's tackle the easy words
Hevel Hevels said Kohelet, Hevel Hevels everything is Hevel
Now there are 3 stuff to tackle
Kohelet: it is used as a name, but most scholars agree it's a title for Solomon, meaning something like "He who gathers a crowd". should it be translated as a name or a title? maybe as the name of the book in the christian world, Ecclesiastes?
Hevel: It's a very complicated word, it represents a fleeting breath, but also fleetingness itself, and also meaninglessness itself. many choose meaningless or meaninglessness in this verse, but another verse the author calls childhood Hevel, should we believe that the author means that childhood is meaningless? maybe it should be fleeting in this context?
<x> <x>s: a hebrew expression meaning "The most something of something", for example "king of kings" would mean "The most king of the kings" or "The most important king of the kings" or "The king over all the kings". Should it be translated in the simplest way (king of kings) or with added interpretation (the king over all the kings)?
How did the official translators handle it? they didn't Here are a few options they chose:
I could continue for ages, it seems like every single translation translated these lines differently
Add to that the fact that even though I read english prose and listen to english songs, my vocubulary is obviously smaller than a mother-tongue speaker, and the choice becomes very easy
I translate as literally as I can (most of the time). I often add context in (red brackets), but no more than that. The reader can use their imagination to find the english version (or native language for a double-translation mess) they think fits the most, but I will make a very literal translation
That is with one main exceptions: phrases that mean different things in hebrew and english. for example, the hebrew לעשות חשבון does have a literal translation: doing math. but in english, doing the math means something like "adding one plus one", and not at all the hebrew meaning of "caring about what people think of you". In cases like these, I try to add a bit of interpretation, and sometimes write the original in red brackets
These are not strong rules by any means, I am doing this for fun after all, sometimes I get lazy, sometimes I forget that something is a phrase and automatically translate the meaning etc. But this is the reason
If someone else wants to go after the translations and add more interpretation so it sounds poetic, I'd be ecstatic. But to do that, I'd need to be able to write english songs and prose myself, and I am not of that level yet
If someone wants to see what that approach to translation looks like, may I recommend the amazing translation of "hallelujah" to Yiddish. it translated the meaning to Yiddish, and then the literal text to the english subtitles, showing exactly what it looks out

your tags on that omegaverse post tho 👀
I could truly write a[nother] dissertation on my own fic lore and that might be the cringiest thing about me 😭✌️
But yeah! I've put a little more information under the cut for anyone who is interested 💛
The current and first fic in the series features Omega Pete (who begins as a Kuen-Kaan Omega - which in the lore of this verse is an Omega who has reached a certain age without going through their second presentation, a biological process that is triggered from being knotted for the first time, similar to some species that go through sexual maturity/biologically become fertile at different rates or in relation to viable mates. Without their second presentation, Omega's don't have heats, and their scents will be unique. In modern society it's widely considered a bad thing, it's used in media a lot the way a spinster is used a lot, this rhetoric that you can only be Kaan if you're of a certain age and have still never 'taken a knot' like 'omegas are supposed to' and thus have failed your 'biological purpose', but ofc there's nuance to that, Omega's can still have sex without taking a knot - I could go on about this forever) and Pete is not 100% comfortable in his gender because of stereotypes and how he never sees himself fitting into them etc. which isn't helped by other characters he comes across and their views on not just Omega's, but various other subgenders and specifically the idea of Pete being a Kaan Omega.
We also have Alpha Vegas, who has also always considered himself broken, but in actual fact is just dealing with a typical crisis of identity when an alpha driven society twists and poisons the stereotype of all the subgenders (including their own, wildly enough) so where Vegas believes 'i am broken for not feeling xyz, it is in fact just that in a modern society the way we interpret our instincts has to change and adapt, it's just no one is gonna talk about that. A good example I've brought up in text is the idea that Alpha's crave territory, but in a modern society how do they achieve that when it's something reserved for those financially able and if nothing else there's been a population boom? So it's all the modern ways that people change and adapt to their subgender instincts.
I won't talk too much about KimChay yet, but I know there are a few people looking forward to what is coming for them and honestly I am too, their arc is SO fascinating to me.
Kim has already appeared in this fic, and he is an Alpha, and I guess as a small spoiler I will say is that Chay in this series is a Beta.
If I got into the full system I am working with for Alpha Beta and Omega dynamics I'm playing with I'd be here for hours. Some of it is the same as traditional but I'm also growing a lot of it from home as well so... 👀
Early on I made a lore document, and this is linked in the fic as well, but for anyone interested you can find it here.
That has pretty much everything re: my evolutionary and biological lore in it (so you might be able to see how certain themes for certain characters are going to start emerging, esp for KimChay 👀👀)
If you read this whole thing, I am on my knees proposing thank you for coming to my ted talk about my fic (which you can find here - if VegasPete isn't your thing, the KimChay arc is on the horizon, so keep your eye out for that) and I apologise for my intense need to yap about this verse 😭

on the subject of tigerghost song recs may i suggest o sol e a lua by pequeno cidadão 🤲🤲the song itself is in portuguese so i went off the english tl of the lyrics but its so them coded
Okay, so I can totally see how the song is tigerghost coded (especially given how I like to hc Danny as the hesitant one).
But also...hear me out.
Based on how I interpreted the lyrics, I actually see the song as a metaphor for Danny's relationships. Specifically, how grayghost would eventually transition into tigerghost. I'm basing this off of several different translations of the song, but I'm pretty sure this is the gist of it:
The song is all about how the Sun is overflowing with love and willing to give everything about itself to the Moon. But the Moon isn't willing to commit itself to the Sun and wants to be independent of the Sun, rejecting the Sun's proposal of marriage. This plunges the Sun despair, causing it to freeze over. As the ice melts, the Sun floods the sky with its tears. Then, the very last verse of the song is sung in a different voice. This new voice gives reassurance to the Sun, that rejection isn't the end. The proof is in the fact that the Sun still holds enough warmth inside itself to melt away the ice. Yes, the sky may be darkened by the Sun's tears, but someday the Sun will find someone that can match and is deserving of the love that the Sun has to offer. This gives the song a happy ending.
In that way, I believe Danny to be the Sun and Valarie is the Moon and that the last verse sung by a different voice is Manny.
(Also I'm gonna hijack this ask and word vomit about my hc for Danny's past relationships real quick below the cut cus holy shit did this song resonate with my imagination and it's been on loop in my Spotify lol)
SO, armed with that knowledge, I'm here to declare that I believe that Danny fell HARD for Valarie. Like, completely over the top, nearing comical levels of tomfoolery in love with her. Just look at the ferris wheel scene and IMAGINE the amount of effort that must have gone into pulling that off (ignore the fact that Technus was prob responsible in canon).
Teenage Danny was a big-hearted goof, and this was his first real relationship so he wanted to give it everything he had. While he technically dated Paulina for a bit, he doesn't count it since she was possessed by Kitty and the second half of the relationship was him just terrified about her revealing his secret (queue trauma). For Valarie however, she'd gone on casual dates and been in a few semi-serious relationships with other people in school before she started dating Danny. While she found Danny's affections to be endearing at first, he ended up being far more clingy and needy than she was comfortable with. Which meant that the honeymoon phase of the relationship faded a lot faster for her than it did for Danny. Even though it was technically a mutual breakup in the show, I like to imagine that the breakup hit Danny a LOT harder than he ever let on.
Then as time went one, Danny continued to square off with Valarie in his ghost form. And during every encounter he had to listen to her shout insults and just plain vile things at him. It was a complete 180 from the image he had built up of her in his head. It became more than a little jarring to say the least. As the mental damage built up, Danny started to make bad decisions.
Specifically, he noticed Sam held an inkling of romantic affection for him. So, thinking he could rebound off of her to get over Valarie, Danny forced himself into liking Sam in a romantic way as well.
I believe that Danny and Sam's relationship lasted for like 4 months, tops, following the end of the show. Sam would realize that her love for Danny was platonic and not romantic. Danny would be racked with guilt for harboring feelings for Valarie while dating Sam, thus never able to develop true romantic feelings for Sam. However, neither of them really knew how to broach the subject of breaking up; Danny had only ever been dumped before and Sam really didn't want to see her best friend hurt so she spent far too long trying to figure out the best way to go about it. This ended up causing the both of them a lot of frustration about the relationship, until they ended up in a shouting match over something small that resulted in them both revealing that they were thinking about breaking up.
Afterwards, Tucker had to deal with the fallout for a few weeks. He ended up incidentally playing mediator between the two because they refused to be in the same room with each other (not because they hated each other, but because they felt guilty about it). Tucker quickly got sick of not being able to mention Sam to Danny or Danny to Sam, and concocted a stupid but simple plan to lock all three of them in the same room together so that Danny and Sam could talk it out. It worked, surprisingly, and the trio went back to being the best of friends (there were a few bumps in the road and awkward silences to get around but they got back to their old hijinks eventually).
Following his breakup with Sam though, Danny became much more guarded with his affections, and who could blame him? Every time he gave his heart out to someone, Danny ended up hurt. Whenever Paulina returned his feelings, it was because she'd been possessed and it caused his secret to almost be exposed. Valarie, who Danny considered his first love, hated half of who he was and had decided that her hatred for Danny Phantom was more important than her affection for Danny Fenton. And Sam was a case of misplaced feelings that almost resulted in Danny losing a core part of his support network.
So several years went by, and Danny convinced himself that the platonic love he got from his friends and family was enough. Then, a certain charming Mexican dropped into his life and made him start to questions everything 🐯👻
#anyways thank you for coming to my ted talk#had to put this off answering this ask for a day just to type it all out lmao#thank you for the song recs i honestly love getting them because it means my tg playlist is growing#tigerghost#nicktoons unite#nicktoons#danny phantom#el tigre

HIIIII hello thank you so much for the third addition. Like so much. Its awakened things in me again I think. I am so very excited to give it my second read through soon but ohhhh dear youve absolutely nailed it again. I adore how well you treated grub, the gradualness of it, how Grian eventually got it thru to him- very very nice.
Its just so incredibly sensual u did such a good job writing it its so so yummy. I adoreee how deeply intimate these three are in ways that are not "normal"- i eats it up
Its also just so funny u did so well capturing them just bein funky dudes. Esp the ongoing scar bits lmao "sea ate my shirt" "scar making the food everytime even tho he'll prolly add poison"
Grian cuppin the scitties made me crylaugh each time I loved that too
Even the little things- grian always saying flock while scar pov has it being pack- add so much to the fic:)
I am so so ready to hear any and every other thought u have about these guys. You mentioned shapeshifting?? If this includes shifting into other ppl- wonder if cub+scar shifting to each other would fool grian even for a second, really. I'd assume they could fool some of the other hermits though
Thank you very very much for the fic as always it was incredibly stellar to read and I loved it very much
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The grub really does end up strong in threequel, slowly building up their tensions was very fun. Guys who would rather be waterboarded than have one (1) normal and open conversation about their relationship with one another, trying to get on the same page through a whole mess of assumptions and communication mismatches. Too stubborn and devoted to let that stop them from continuing to try until getting through to one another, though.
Writing scenes that are sensual and intimate in non-standard ways is absolutely my jam. Thinking about how each of them express those and want those expressed to them, and fitting it all together. How intimacy expresses itself in little casual moments throughout the day
Threequel also gave me a lot of breathing room to pull little threads and references back in from the previous two fics, throughlines on Scar's redstone torches bit, or the other two you mentioned.
Grian knows what he likes and he likes them scitties. : 3
Yesssss, thank you, the difference in terminology in convex pov vs grian's pov is dear to me. pack/flock and den/nest in particular, but a few other slight shifts in vocabulary to refer to the same sounds too, depending on who's the one interpreting it for the narration.
I did mention shapeshifting! technically going between their vex/human forms is a kind of shapeshifting for them. the base of the idea of how vex shapeshifting works in untamed beasts verse is similar to a comic i liked describing shapeshifting for a character as them only being able to transform into forms that they feel like is them. so it could even vary from day to day, what they can and can't do, in terms of shapeshifting. (this covers things like scar's elf era, and also cub's old man era. shapeshifted forms that felt right to them at the time.)
but! your specific question about scar and cub shapeshifting into one another? that's a special case. they're actually fully able to shapeshift into one another at will! they have for sure used this to test what it's like to make out with themselves
it'd be difficult for them to fool grian at this point, because their magic bonds to grian feel different to grian so the jig is up if he thinks to check that, or if grian or scar take any damage at any point in the charade it'd be hard to hide they might stand a chance somewhere with a high enough concentration of magic that it's hard to feel right away, or if grian is distracted, but usually the thing falls apart when they open their mouths if they manage to get that far with grian one particularly fun time cub definitely managed to pull off scar for a while but grian figured him out b/c he 'remembered' events scar was present for too well and frankly scar would Not have
absolutely they could fool a nonzero number of other hermits though yes they're competing to see who can fool more of their friends
scar can lean pretty heavily on having a handful of cub's common phrases properly practiced, and the notion that cub will just sometimes say something that doesn't match what was said to him as if it's perfect sense, or not say anything at all, do something mysterious and inscrutable, and leave. and people will be like. yea. that's our cub all right. tbh some days it'd be harder for him to get people to believe he isn't cub.
cub gets pretty tired easily if he's putting effort into doing a proper scar impression, b/c scar is usually pretty high energy when he's around his friends but he also thinks it's funny to wear scar's face and be extremely un-scar-like, just to see how people react
thank you again, i'm always so ready to ramble about these dorks

Yes yes I'm sending more playlist related questions because these are fun. So The Rain The Park And The Other Things on the Fugio playlist caught my eye..ear? And it reminded me of the song Send me no flowers by Doris Day and I like that a lot.
Everybody says that Strawberry Blonde is very them coded but nobody explains why. I'm curious about your interpretation :D
Also does the Naramis playlist tackle the sad side of their relationship? How, you know, Narancia isn't there anymore. I appreciate that a lot about this ship- losing someone you love but still needing to move on. I think that's very realistic and I hope Mista finds peace again.
HI I'M SO SORRY I MISSED THIS sorry for the wait!!
Just listened to Send Me No Flowers and it's really lovely, I think I could also see it being Fugio-y in a way? Specifically postcanon pre-PHF from Giorno's POV. Something something he has all the tangible things he wants but not Fugo. But maybe that's just because my brain loves to make songs about wanting someone back + flowers about Fugio lol.
I won't lie, Strawberry Blond is a holdover from when I started making this playlist four years ago, when Strawberry Blond was considered the Fugio song and was on everyone's playlists lol. But listening to it now, I actually think it aligns with my Fugio vision more than I initially thought.
I think a lot of people take it as a Fugo -> Giorno song, but I much prefer imagining it the other way around. Again, imagery of someone leaving and the other aching over it, and the line "I love everybody because I love you" makes me think of Giorno basically getting his whole worldview tossed up because of Fugo, who's so completely different from him in every way. But also, I really really like to imagine that Giorno's feelings are unrequited at first. I think I've explained the Fugonara -> Fugio pipeline before, but Fugio during canon to me is more like. Giorno is very infatuated with Fugo, and Fugo doesn't notice because he's still hung up over his own one-sided feelings for Narancia. So the second verse kinda fits that, too, I think. The thing with "all I ever wanted was a life in your shape" also could have a lot of different connotations with them, too - Fugo had, and still has, a lot of privilege Giorno doesn't (Fugo grew up rich, never had to face xenophobia/racism, had a strong and well-funded education that is clearly shown to still give him a huge advantage even after he's disowned), and on the headcanon side of things, I do usually hc Giorno as trans and Fugo as cis, so there's that, too. But it could also be how Giorno has always repressed emotions/feelings, and Fugo isn't really able to, but also derives power from those emotions (even if they're harmful) - maybe a tiny bit of subconscious envy that Fugo's able to feel, to cry, so on and so forth? Idk. Something like that.
As for the Naramis playlist, I actually don't have a ton of angsty stuff on there, because I did originally envision it as a happier vibes sort of playlist (even I need a break from Naramis angst sometimes hehe). But I did start including a few sadder ones as of late!!
This song is super postcanon Mista to me and that's why I used it as the title for the second part of my fic :] "Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl/I held her close, but she faded in the night/Like a poem I meant to write" specifically.
Another postcanon one. The airplane metaphors really sell it for me. I think Mista sometimes plays this one on his guitar and thinks of Narancia :)))
And slightly different, but I actually think of this one from Narancia's POV!! He's been let down and betrayed a lot in his life, he can't envision a better life for himself than being a criminal, and his best friend ends up leaving him out of cowardice, so he hopes that he can at least have one person he can trust and rely on - ie Mista.
Thank you again for the ask, I love talking about my tunes (and Fugio and Naramis) ^_^

Hip Hop: A different perspective on love
A review/interpretation of Tyler the Creator's Album "Igor"
The theme of 21 Savage’s latest album, Savage Mode II, was “money and pussy”. Not really groundbreaking stuff. Don’t get me wrong I love 21 Savage (and that album), but as a (female) hip-hop fan who mainly listens to newer artists, so many hip-hop songs deal with romance in a way that objectifies women. Even romantic hip-hop songs, do not feel very personal. From sweet lines -like one from Drake’s “Best I Ever Had”: “you are my everything, you all I ever wanted”- to salty lines -like Kanye's “Heartless”: “How could you be so heartless?”-never really spoke out to me. I get it: the girl is amazing, the girl is a b****, but where are YOUR feelings? Tyler the Creator’s album “Igor” explores exactly that. And to make it even more interesting, he is talking about a guy. I feel that both of these topics have rarely been explored in mainstream hip-hop, especially combined. Tyler the Creator uses a diverse set of musical components to stray away from the normalities of hip-hop/rap and successfully conveys a catchy, yet heartbreaking, album about a man in love.

Part 1: Falling in Love
The album starts off with “Igor’s Theme”, which is an ominous riff that kind of sounds like final battle music in a video game. It feels like when you know the final boss is coming and you’re all excited to finally meet them. Lyrically there’s not much going on, but it already shows how Tyler is able to rely on an instrumental to set the mood instead of just words. That already goes against the main principle of rap which, according to Merriam-Webster, is defined as rhythmic speech chanted to a musical accompaniment. And the cherry on top, it’s really catchy and I’ve definitely gotten this song stuck in my head, even with the few lyrics he gives us.
After getting hyped up by the previous song, Tyler finally starts to reveal his attachment to this person. Again, the lyrics are pretty repetitive, but he uses his voice as well as upbeat music to create “Earfquake”. Even though the song is so upbeat and singable, he says how their love is “making his heart break”. It shows how heartbreaking it feels to have someone who doesn’t feel the same about you be kind to you. His repetition of “don’t leave it’s my fault” makes him seem really desperate and nonsensical but it really shows how love works, it’s not just butterflies in your stomach, it's strange and doesn’t always bring out the best. A line that really stuck with me was “I don’t want no confrontation, no. You don’t want my conversation. I just need some confirmation on how you feel so real.” It makes no sense but makes perfect sense at the same time. Pitchfork described it as succeeding “in communicating mood as their own sense of logic.”
youtube
Compared to the other two songs, lyrically this one is more happy. The drum is prominent and there is a lot more singing. Tyler blatantly says he "thinks" he’s falling in love. Although it’s an upbeat love song his voice is really monotone, especially when he says “how can I tell you”. It seems that he’s not that excited to confront his crush, which is definitely understandable. That transitions to the next song, which is only 15 seconds. He says “exactly what you run from you end up chasing.” Granted, I've heard similar phrases before, but it just hits more deep knowing he dedicated an entire song to this quote. Also, I love how he strays from any genre (that I know of) and creates such a short song to get a single point across.
Part 2: The Struggle
Transitioning from the previous song about running, this song is about “running out of time”. The instrumental is really chill and the lyrics are very slow. I wasn’t a huge fan of this song originally because of its slow and chill pace, but when the drums come out for the second verse, which is a little bit faster, the lyrics reveal what the song is about. Tyler wants his lover to stop lying to himself because Tyler knows the real him. That reminds me of the frustration of being closeted and although I didn’t really vibe with the beginning, I am glad that he brought a queer perspective into the game.
I think the main reason Running Out of Time wasn’t as exciting for me is because the song that comes after it is on a whole other level. “New Magic Wand” completely changes the vibe and starts off very heavy with a villain theme vibe. The maniacal laughing in the intro quickly changes to Tyler talking about wanting to get his lover’s girl out of the picture. You can feel the jealousy in his voice and the thumping beat and instrumental makes you want to side with him. According to Genius, Tyler even hints at the fact that the new magic wand may be a gun in Verse 3 with the lines “She's gonna be dead, I just got a magic wand.” Transitioning from that, verse 4 is one of his best rap verses on the album and it fits perfectly because you definitely feel him become more and more deranged as the song goes on. What really adds to the maniacal feeling is the music. Seriously just listen to the instrumental and it tells its own story.
After all that basically psychotic talk, Tyler flips it around and compares his lover to a dangerous gun. “A boy is a gun” also confirms that his love is a boy. Tyler is mad that he won’t show his true self and knows that he’s bad for Tyler. His lover even “brought his girl”, ouch. This song is really good and I can really feel how he wants him to stay away because he knows he is going to get hurt but he can’t. I love the piano part while he repeats “stay the fuck away from me” because the piano sounds like it’s coming closer. The girl singing in the background and the gun sound effects really add to the dramatic mood of the song. Tyler knows that he is a bad idea.
youtube
Part 3: Moving on
Now that Tyler is telling him to stay away, he has to move on. “Puppet” is about him not being able to leave, explaining that his lover controls him and he’s lonely. Again contradicting himself, Tyler knows this relationship is bad for him but can’t let go. The music sounds kind of like a children’s song and he does a lot more rapping in this song. It perfectly fits the mood because Tyler’s trying so hard to keep him, which he is aware is childish. The singing part of “i’m your puppet” is similar to the other songs, showing his desperation. What’s interesting about this song is that the last minute is just music. The song ends with a sort of ambulance-sounding noise and a girl singing. Even though he is starting to move on, there is still that continuous theme of how hard it is to let go.
“What’s good” continues with the ominous video game music. This time it sounds like a chaotic chase where he rambles about how good he is. The line “Hard to believe in God when there ain't no mirrors around” really sets off the vibe of this song: it's just a random “I’m better”. To counteract this egotistical manner, he continues with the song “Gone gone/Thank you”. This is another masterpiece that portrays all the stages of moving on in a humble manner. At first, he sounds depressed because his love is gone, but towards the end, he realizes that it was good that it ended. He is actually appreciative for the experience he got. To show all these different stages, the song uses different types of genres that flow together to portray the different stages of moving. According to a Gen Z Journalist, this song is “infused with bluesy, R&B, techno, rock, rap and alternative sounds.” The second part of the song (thank you) really adds a new perspective. We have gotten a lot of contradicting feelings about love and doubt but never any about gratitude. Even with all the pain he went through, Tyler still thanked him. What's even more interesting is that throughout this album Tyler has never really hated his lover, and now he is thanking him for the good times. Tyler is definitely not the first person to come up with this idea but I would love to see more themes like this in hip hop. What finally marks him moving on, however, is Tyler saying “I don’t love you anymore”. At first, he says it, then he screams it, and then the music takes over. Definitely a bittersweet ending.
Part 4: Moved on?
The final track on the album, “Are We Still Friends?”, contradicts the entirety of part 3. Tyler still wants to be friends, even knowing that their relationship is really fragile. The beautiful jazz instrumental sets the vibe of a love (hopefully platonic) song. You can feel the emotions he can’t let go through his singing and the instrumental. Who knew lines so simple as “are we still friends” and “can be friends” could be so heartbreaking? (Seriously I have cried to this song multiple times) After practically experiencing this whole break-up story, I really understand him for still wanting to salvage the relationship. The “i don't want to add this season on a bad episode” ties into the whole idea that romance, and even life, aren’t always perfect. That reminds me of this edit where a beloved character, Fiona from Shameless, just leaves. It was sad but it was definitely for the best. What ties this ending theme perfectly together, however, is the outro: the screaming and the instrument that never got to resolve. The instrument shows Tyler’s desperation to ask his ex-lover one last question (but he can’t sadly), and at the same time, the scream gives a release that he is finally able to let it all out.
Just like Tyler, I have to move on as well. I could probably talk about this album forever but everything must come to an end. The album successfully fuses components of hip-hop with unique features to create his own kind of genre. Even better, every song sounds good in its own way. It does get repetitive at times, but Tyler is not afraid to try new things and can easily go from singing to rap to speaking and even to screaming. Even his instrumentals have no singular pattern/ And on top of that, he is able to add so much substance to the story through his lyrics, and each song is unique. I don’t even have a favorite song because I have found myself listening to most of these songs on repeat depending on my mood. Aside from the musicality, I have never been able to relate to an album about romance more. Tyler successfully conveys the constant longing, hatred, jealousy, gratitude, happiness, and so many other emotions that can happen at the same time. Love is all about not making sense and contradicting yourself, yet Tyler used his music to make it make at least some sort of sense.

SIX DAY OF CREATION DEBATE
by Bill Kochman
03-04-2025
As many of my readers will know, for literally centuries now, a great controversy has raged amongst both theologians and regular laymen regarding the proper interpretation of the events which are described for us in the opening verses of Genesis chapter one. In particular, one debate concerns the actual meaning of the word day”. I first addressed this issue quite a few years ago in my article entitled "Adaptation, EVILution and the Six Days of Genesis".
However, due to an incident which recently occurred, I felt it would be a good idea to write a new article in which I focus specifically on the meaning of the word “day” in the aforementioned verses. As I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed, I came upon a post where a certain Christian brother was sharing his understanding regarding the age of the Earth. Upon reading his explanation, I felt compelled to say something to him.
If you have read my article entitled “The Earth is Under Seven Thousand Years Old!”, then you will already know that similar to a substantial number of other Bible-believing Christians, and in fact similar to the Orthodox Jews — although Jews differ by a few hundred years — I am personally convinced that the age of the Earth hovers within a few decades of being approximately six thousand years old.
I don’t recall now the exact figure which I arrived at because I am unable to access the article right now due to technical issues. If you are interested in learning exactly how I was able to calculate this 6,000 years figure, then please consider reading the aforementioned article. It is full of a plethora of supporting Bible references.
Regard the brother I mentioned, in the beginning of his post, he seemed to be in agreement with and acknowledged the 6,000 years figure, and he even wrote “I see a lot of posts talking about the Earth is 6,000 years old according to the Bible.” Notice in particular that he says “according to the Bible,” thus suggesting that he in fact agrees with the Biblical genealogical record.
However, only a few sentences later, he went off on a tangent and totally contradicted what he had just written. The way in which he did this was in the following manner. The very first step in his contorted process was to quote 2 Peter 3:8 to his readers, which states the following:
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2 Peter 3:8, KJV
As I will explain in a moment, this was his first mistake. However, it was actually with his second and third mistakes where he really deviated from Scriptural truth.
For no apparent reason, this fellow
multiplied 6,000 x 365 due to the
obvious fact that there are 365
days in a year. However, as I said
earlier — aside from the fact that there is nothing in the Bible which says to multiply 6,000 by 365 — this was a mistake because the approximate age of the Earth is NOT based on 365-day years. In
reality, it is based on a Biblical or Jewish year, which consists of 360 days. So even if we were to accept his unexplainable crazy calculations, it was evident to me that he was ALREADY way off
course.
Thus, with his first calculation this man arrived at the Earth age of
2,190,000 days, based on the Earth being exactly 6,000 years old, which again, is just a close approximation. This is where his personal understanding of 2 Peter 3:8 enters the picture. Again based on his understanding of this verse, which to him means that one day equals a thousand years, he multiplied 2,190,000 days x 1,000 years to arrive at 219,000,000 years. In fact, on his page he even states the following:
——- Begin Quote ——-
Now if you take the number of days times 1,000 you get 219 million years.
God's worked miracles from the beginning. Science just shows us how he did it.
Oh and just to let y'all know, I didn't figure this out, I asked God and he showed me.
——- End Quote ——-
My friends, aside from his very obvious deceived mental state where he foolishly claims that it was God who showed him how to do the previous misguided and unscriptural calculation, do you by any chance notice anything very wrong with what he wrote? I will just tell you.
2,190,000 days x 1,000 years does NOT equal 219 million years. It actually equals 2 billion 190 million years.
Of course, it really doesn’t matter which of those two figures one chooses to accept, because they are still BOTH wrong. As I told my friend — even though he did not like to hear it one single bit —
everything he did was just silly personal conjecture and crazy speculation with absolutely no basis in reality. It was pure imaginary guesswork. Quite frankly, my friends, it was simply ridiculous.
As I asked my friend, let me ask you, my online readers, the very same questions. With what right and authority could any of us make such equations? With what right and authority could any of us try to twist the meaning of what is so plainly stated in the Scriptures?
As I told my friend, it is foolish to dare to tamper with God’s Word in order to make it say what we want it to say, so that our minds are have better able to grasp it.
Sadly, that is not only what my friend did, but it is exactly what many other Christians do today as well. You see, in his timeline post, my friend mentioned the fact that he does not like the way that the Holy Scriptures and modern science do not agree with each other when it comes to such issues as the age of the Earth. In fact, he said that it results in confusion.
While I didn’t tell my friend this — perhaps I will still do it unless he decides to unfriend or block me — the ONLY real reason why such a contradiction would ever cause confusion in his mind, is because he is believing in the words of men over the Word of God. Wow! If any Christian possesses utmost faith in the Bible being the inspired Word of God, then there should be no confusion. It is only when doubts regarding the validity of God’s Word creep in, that confusion creeps in as well. Think about that!
But that is not all. There is another angle which is directly related to this issue. Do you know what it is? I am sure I have mentioned it in some of my previous articles. My friends, it is shame. Some weak Christians are ashamed of God’s Word, and even try to tone down or even hide their belief in God’s Word, because they are ashamed and it embarrasses them, because so many things in God’s Word are contrary to, and are diametrically opposed to, the way that the secular world thinks.
Let’s be honest about this, my friends. In the world there is a tremendous amount of pressure to conform, and to fit into the accepted mold. Think of your Christian school-aged children. I am sure that some of you parents know exactly what I am referring to.
In school, they are told that they must believe in evolution in order to pass a certain grade. It is pounded into your kids that the Universe is billions of years old.
They must agree that we humans came from protozoans and apes, and so much other nonsense. On top of it all, there are other mean worldly children who go along with the party line, who tease and make of and bully your children because they believe differently and act differently. It is tough!
Meanwhile, back at home, your children are taught the exact opposite if their parents are truly responsible Christian parents. At home there are different beliefs, different morals, a different dress code, etc.
So whether child or adult, it can be really difficult to survive in this modern world when one is a dedicated Christian. There are only two choices regarding this matter. Either one learns to endure hardness as a soldier of Jesus Christ, or else they eventually crack under shame and personal embarrassment. Consider the following group of sample Bible verses:
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
2 Timothy 2:3, KJV
“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
2 Timothy 4:5, KJV
“Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”
James 5:10-11, KJV
“Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”
1 Corinthians 16:13, KJV
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Ephesians 6:10, KJV
“Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 2:1, KJV
Returning to my friend, and other Christians who are confused, ashamed of, or embarrassed by God’s Word, what do some of them end up doing? Well, in some cases they look for a loophole and a way to get around what God’s Word says, so that they don’t feel so uncomfortable. While my friend may not ever admit it to himself, I suspect that this is exactly what he did.
As I mentioned earlier, he was very bothered by the conflict which exists between the Scriptures and modern science, particularly when it came to the age of the Earth, because it caused him confusion. So what did he do? He did his little mathematical trickery — if you want to even call it that — and he “magically” transformed the Biblical 6,000 years into millions and billions of years. He in fact found his supposed loophole which made him a lot more comfortable. If you doubt that this is so, let me remind you again of what he wrote:
——- Begin Quote ——-
God's worked miracles from the beginning. Science just shows us how he did it.
Oh and just to let y'all know, I didn't figure this out, I asked God and he showed me.
——- End Quote ——-
You see. He found the deception that he needed to remove his discomfort. Do you understand what he is basically saying there? If not, the spirit of it is basically this: “Look folks! I found a solution! There is no conflict between God’s Word and modern science! I just had to find the right equation!” My friend is now so deceived that he has even convinced himself that God revealed this mathematical “truth” to him. However, in reality, what he has actually done is places man’s word over God’s Word.
But perhaps the craziest part of my experience with him is how he outright contradicted himself. As I mentioned earlier in this article, my friend started out at the very beginning of his post by readily acknowledging that the Bible says that the Earth is about 6,000 years. Yet after he performed all of his not-so-fancy math, he had convinced himself that the Earth is 219 million years old, and not really 6,000 years old according to Biblical genealogical records.
As I mentioned earlier, sadly, my friend did not accept a single word that I had to say to him. He in fact put up a stiff wall of resistance and accused me of “blasting” him, and not respecting Romans 14 where the Apostle Paul writes “Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.” Rather than just give up on him, I decided to push a little more to see where it would go.
Thus, I explained to him that the reason why I had “blasted” him — as he had put it — is because he had outright contradicted what is plainly stated in the Scriptures regarding the true age of the Earth based on the genealogical record and other Biblical events. I likewise informed him that I had offered him correction because he had foolishly claimed that God had given him the information when it is very doubtful that He did. I also reminded him that God does not contradict His own Word.
Aside from all of the above, I explained to him that, tragically, besides being terribly deceived by his own mind, what he apparently did not realize is that by sharing that false information publicly on his timeline, he was in fact deceiving other people as well. THAT was in fact my greatest concern.
I tried to maintain a soft but firm tone as I wrote to him. I also told him that while he accused me of “blasting” him, the truth of the matter is that if I didn’t care, I would have kept my mouth shut and just let him continue on in his personal deception. However, the Scriptures remind us of the following:
“Open rebuke is better than secret love.”
Proverbs 27:5, KJV
It was at that point that I recalled an incident that is found in the Book of Acts. As some of my readers may know, in Acts chapter 18, while Apollos was preaching publicly, Aquila and Priscilla realized that Apollos’ doctrine wasn’t exactly correct — or perhaps we could say up-to-date — because Apollos only knew the baptism of John. Thus Aquila and Priscilla took time to correct Apollos, as we see by this group of verses:
“And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.”
Acts 18:24-26, KJV
So as I explained to my friend, Aquila and Priscilla could have just kept their mouths shut and been on their way, just as my friend wanted me to do. However, they didn’t do that, did they? They were more concerned with making sure that Apollos was preaching proper doctrine, because what he preached would affect the lives of other people as well.
In similar fashion, I told my friend that I had done no differently for him than what Aquila and Priscilla had done with Apollos. As you will see momentarily, the truth of the matter is that I took my time to share Bible verses with my friend and provide him with multiple examples so that he could better understand why he was wrong.
I didn’t yell at him. I didn’t call him names. I didn’t attack him. I simply shared Scriptures with him which revealed the error in his current thinking. However, despite my soft approach, instead of humbly accepting the correction, due to his pride, he got offended and all huffy with the attitude “I hear from God, and I don’t care what you or anyone else thinks!” My friends, as shocking as it may be, that is exactly what he said. I told that was just his pride speaking, but of course, that didn’t help, because his heart was already too callous
and unreceptive to the truth.
Regarding what he had said concerning respecting Romans 14, I informed him that he was free to believe as he wished, and to be persuaded in his own mind as the Apostle Paul had written. However, I also reminded him that when someone begins to share false information publicly which will deceive others, that is when another brother needs to step in and address the issue. In this particular case, it just happened to be me.
Now for those of my friends who are reading this article who also struggle with the Six Days of Creation, and who have a hard time understanding it, or perhaps defending it against the naysayers, I am now going to share with you the very same information that I shared with my friend. While this information may not necessarily persuade any of your non-believing friends any more than it persuaded my friend who is already a Christian, at the very least, I am hoping that it will strengthen your personal faith, so that you may be able to endure any trials which may come your way as a result of this particular topic.
So, first things first. If the Book of Genesis says a day, then as Bible-believing Christians, we simply need to accept by faith that it means a literal day, even if it is difficult for our logical minds to grasp. After all, what right do any of us have to purposely try to limit God’s power and what He is able to do? Obviously none. So if we are plainly told that He created everything in six literal days, then it is simply our Christian duty to accept it, no questions asked. Again, that is what faith is all about.
However, I am not so cruel as to just leave you with that. Thus, I am now going to provide you with some Scriptural fuel to pump up the level of your faith. To begin with, in case you were not aware of it, in two indirect ways, even Moses and Jesus confirmed that the six days which are mentioned in Genesis are six very literal days.
You need to understand that failure to recognize a day as a literal day throughout the Bible,
can very quickly result in total confusion. So let us begin by considering what Moses had to say in the following verses which are found in the Book of Exodus:
“Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
Exodus 20:9-11, KJV
Now, it should be rather obvious to you that Moses is clearly talking about six literal days in the previous verses. Or do you really think that he is talking about literal days with regard to the six-day work week and the sabbath, and then suddenly for some inexplicable reason he switches to meaning thousands or millions of years when he mentions the Six Days of Creation?
Do you think the Israelites would have even grasped it? I mean, does it make any sense to you that Moses would be telling the Israelites that they had to rest for thousands or millions of years? Of course not! It would be ridiculous! So we have a solid example here where the six-day work week and the Six Days of Creation are both mentioned right next to each other. Therefore, the word “day” must mean the same thing in every case.
Now if you have any doubt that a literal day is what is meant to be understood in the previous verses, then let’s allow Jesus to clear it up for us. In the Gospel of John, when speaking of the daylight hours, as opposed to the nighttime hours, notice what the Lord very clearly says:
“Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.”
John 11:9-10, KJV
Do you see that? It should be evident to you that Jesus is clearly contrasting twelve daytime hours with twelve nighttime hours, which equates to what? One 24-hour day. And there you have it. Those two verses should be our guideline for how we understand the word “day” throughout the Bible. Jesus himself told us what length of time a day represents throughout the Scriptures.
To enforce this particular point, I am now going to share a set of questions with you which easily reveal what kinds of problem we run into when we fail to recognize a Biblical day as a twenty-four hour period.
Do you believe that the Prophet Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, or was it actually three thousand years, or three million years? Do you believe that it rained for forty days and forty nights in the Book of Genesis, or did we get it wrong and it actually rained for forty thousand years, or perhaps even for forty million years?
Do you believe that Moses was on the summit of Mount Sinai/Horeb for forty days and forty nights in order to receive the Ten Commandments from God, or was he really up there for a period of forty thousand years, or quite possibly even for forty million years? Now what about those
Israelite spies that Moses sent to scout out the land of Canaan? Did they really do it for just forty days, or did their espionage campaign actually endure for a period of forty thousand years, or for even forty million years?
And concerning our final two examples, did Jesus spend forty days fasting in the wilderness area of the Jordan River valley, or did He really fast out there for forty thousand years, or maybe even for forty million years? And lastly, following His resurrection from the dead, was the Lord seen for a period of forty days by His followers, or did they really see Him for forty thousand years, or even for forty million years?
Now, I know that it may seem a little bit silly the way in which I presented those examples to you, but do you see my point? If we try to interpret the word “days” as anything other than a 24-hour period, none of those verses make any sense whatsoever, do they? So the point is that God’s Word is consistent in meaning throughout the pages of the Bible. A day is a day is a day. To believe otherwise is perverting God’s Word and creating confusion in the process.
Now allow me to give you a final rather mind-blowing example. Do you realize that God created vegetation on the third day of Creation? Even an elementary school child learns that plant life requires the process of photosynthesis in order to produce chlorophyll and fuel for its cells so that it can grow and thrive.
However, the process of photosynthesis requires direct sunlight in order to work. God obviously knew this as well. That is precisely why on the very next day — the fourth day — He also created the Sun and the Moon. Smart God! He knew exactly what He was doing. He knew that plant life would not survive for very long without direct sunlight.
On the other hand, do you naysayers believe that between the time that God created vegetation on the third day, thousands or perhaps millions of years passed before He created the Sun on the fourth day? Now that is highly unlikely, isn’t it?
It is indeed sad that naysayers — such as the brother who I mentioned earlier — don’t have the faith to believe the Scriptures for what they say, and thus have to resort to ungodly science — which contradicts God’s Word time and time again — in order to make some things more understandable in their faithless minds.
As we have seen, due to their own lack of faith in accepting and believing the Genesis account for exactly what it says, they endeavor to find some kind of logical way around it. In the case of the brother I mentioned, he grossly misinterpreted what the Apostle Peter is actually saying in 2 Peter 3:8. Let me share that verse with you one more time:
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
2 Peter 3:8, KJV
My friends, for those of you who may not understand, the Apostle Peter is NOT saying that one day equates to 1,000 years. I am personally convinced that what Peter is really saying is that whether a day passes, or a thousand years passes, it is all the same to God, because He exists outside of time in the timeless realm of the “Eternal Now” where past, present and future are all one. In fact, that is precisely why God is able to see the end from the beginning, as we discover in these two verses:
“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:”
Isaiah 46:9-10, KJV
To reiterate that point, 2 Peter 3:8 is NOT some kind of secret code instructing any of us to treat a day as a thousand years, or vice versa. That is just a man-made doctrine as far as I am concerned. Sadly, that false interpretation of the verse has led many people down the path of deception.
In conclusion, my friends, instead of inventing our own pet numerical theories in order to try to make God’s Word more rational and logical to our human minds, we need to simply ask God to give us more faith. After all, as it is written, without faith it is impossible for us to please God, as we see by the following verse:
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6, KJV
If you are one who has struggled, and who has experienced any doubts with regard to the veracity and validity of any part of God’s Word — including the Six Days of Creation — I truly hope that my previous words have inspired your faith, and have put you on the right path again.

Okay so I have somewhat articulated some of my thoughts. Sorry in advance if I waffle or don’t make any sense or repeat what Ive said before lol. Also a disclaimer these are my thoughts and interpretations I am not saying anyone has to agree with what I think and I’m not saying what my thoughts and interpretations are fact.
Okay so my thought process regarding the ladder merch starts back in 2020 when we got Walls and we got OTB and to keep things shorter the lyric I’m going to focus most on is “It’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave” I think as a collective the majority of the fandom have accepted the queer connotations of the song, and to me the song is definitely gay I don’t see any other possible meaning behind it, and the lyric I mentioned to me is a reflection of how most queer people especially in the beginning of their journey as a queer person and accepting their feelings, sexuality and gender identity in some cases feel alone and feels like they have to go through the journey alone and you have to be brave to face any backlash, homophobia etc from the people around you, and also to touch on the lyrics “And they’ll say, I told you so, come on when you know you know” I think this part in particular is about speculation about people’s sexuality in particular and when someone comes out and people react by saying I told you, so and so is gay and I think “when you know you know” could also be in regards to young queer people and I’ve often heard people say you’re too young to know you’re gay etc, so I think that lyric could also mean that which links back to the lyric “it’s a solo song and it’s only for the brave”. I could write so much more about Only The Brave but moving on to LT:Live From London which happened December 2020 during lockdown and where Louis performed COACOC for the first time (still cannot believe it’s not on streaming smh), the lyrics I’m going to be focusing on is the lyrics “can’t get through the glass” and the entire second verse “I can hear you, howlin' 'til your lungs hurt so let this be your comfort you're not the only one, no. In a strange way, we're all in this together, been this way forever you’re not the only one”. To me the “can’t get through the glass” is pretty self explanatory and I think it’s in regards to a glass closet for anyone who doesn’t know what a glass closet is, it is when the sexual orientation or gender identity of an individual is known to many but not publicly acknowledged or spoken about. And what I have interpreted the entire second verse to me is finding a queer community who have/are going through the same things that the individual is going through and they are able to find comfort in the fact that they are not alone and there are people understand the feelings and emotions in the journey as a queer person.
Okay now finally getting to the merch we first saw the ladder merch during the 369 merch drop on 28th April 2021 - we got a few different designs during this drop there were quite a few pieces: one was the boy climbing the ladder and spray painting the iconic smiley, there was also the sweatshirt with what looked like an explosion and in the middle was the ladder and the boy surround by portals and shapes tbh I still haven’t made up my mind and put my thoughts together about what that could represent lol, there was a pretty pink hoodie that had a doorway and in the design there were multiple doorways in the door kinda like in cartoons where the character will open the door and there’s more doors but I related it back to copy lol and I also thought it could possibly be representing (idk if this is the right word to use) obstacles and difficulties in the journey that are slowing you down and preventing you to getting to the other side of the door and on the back of the hoodie it was once again the ladder and the boy, the iconic visual of the ladder and breaking the glass was also a part of this drop, and the first time I saw the merch it reminded me of the walls music video and copy because of the lyric “can’t get through the glass” and the boy is breaking through the glass and it reminded me of `Walls because it looks like on the other side of the glass was desert and in the walls mv there is a scene where Louis is just staring at himself in the glass walls. So I think that entire drop was kinda like a break through?
And to link all of this to the Queer x Design book that made my brain go in to overdrive lol it says in the book - “it depicts people climbing the ladder out of the well of loneliness” and my brain instantly went to All This Time in particular the lyrics “our eyes meet and I can tell that you’re the same as me” and also the lyrics “but the friends we make, the love it takes Is worth, is worth, is worth the pain. The friends we make, the love it takes is worth, is worth, is worth it all this time” which I think links back to what I mentioned earlier and finding friends in the queer community who have shared/ similar experiences as you and the journey you went on and all the obstacles you came across, all the hurt and pain you experienced was worth it in the end because you found people who are the same as you and understand and get you.
I haven’t included any links to the merch I’m referencing so I really hope you know what I’m talking about but this is what I’ve managed to articulate at the moment there’s still so much more I want to say but if I’m able to I’ll maybe share more :)
Oooh thank you, I enjoyed reading this.
I definitely agree with how you’ve interpreted the 369 merch drop. And the link between All This Time and the ladder in the queer design book. That idea also kind of permeates the whole album, about how finding community and relying on friendships is important.

Lion is one of the most famous songs from the band Hollywood Undead. This was part of their album Notes from the underground. The vocals of this song are done by Danny and Johnny 3 Tears. We have a song call ‘Lion.’ It’s the fourth song, and when I came up with the idea for the song, I had a chorus, so I hit up the producer, went into the studio to lay it down and to get it moving, since I knew we would revisit songs quite a few times, since that’s what bands do. We kept moving and making progress, so we stayed up 34 hours. We started it from scratch and finished it in one session, which is tough, since there are a lot of elements. There was no stall. It was written in one fell swoop in a day-and-a-half. We never did it that way before and never want to do it again. I had a four-day hangover after Johnny 3 Tears told Noisecreep Song Meaning Now, this song is quite tough to decode and one can never be sure as to what they are actually talking about, however this is my interpretation of the song. I could be wrong about it but this is what I felt it was about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgFHL2R8m6s Lion could be about being brave enough to face the world and follow your dreams. It could also be about the rage that is felt inside to be free and not feel trapped in a certain sense. There are a lot of things going on in the singer's mind that others have no clue about. The other people have never dealt with those kinds of things and they go off to sleep and are at peace while the singer is going through those things in his mind. Johnny 3 Tears is narrating his story in the verses. The chorus is about breaking free from the society and having the courage to go in the direction that you want to go. The urge to follow his passion is too strong that it keeps him awake at night. The first verse by Johnny probably talks about how some people don't follow their calling while some cannot leave their dreams. Johnny 3 Tears is basically saying to people he knows that they can leave him and he doesn't need their little things which lead to small dreams not worth following. He is also pointing to the fact that he needs to do the things he is meant to do today because tomorrow is today. In second verse by J3T, he is talking about his past. When he mentions the army of little kids, it could mean when he was a small kid among several of them. Those times may have been really hard and he did not have much but still he was living through those times. But, remembering those times probably causes him to fight for his dreams and what he wants to accomplish in his life. Then, he mentions that he has to be away from her daughter for a long time because it is his job to be on tour. Also, fame has played a huge role in his relationship with his family. Because of his popularity, he is not able to devote much time to his daughter. There are certain things he cannot change because they are meant to happen that way. He wants his daughter to know that he loves her very much and would always want to be with her. This is what I understood from the song. The song may have a different story altogether.

10/5/2023 DAB Chronological Transcription
Matthew 4, Luke 4-5, John 1:15-51
Welcome to Daily Audio Bible Chronological, It's the fifth day of October. It's wonderful to be here with you today. I'm Jill. We go through the Bible in chronological order every day. We just turn the page a few days ago and are in the New Testament. And in just a few short months, we will have Made it to the finish line. I'm so glad that you're here. I'm so honored to be reading the word of God for us, individually and collectively, as a community. Today we are reading Matthew Chapter 4. And then because we read it in chronological order, we sort of go sideways instead of top to bottom, so to speak, just because we are in the Gospels right now. And because it's historical order, we've got three different interpretations of the life of Jesus. So Matthew Chapter 4. Luke Chapters four and five and then we'll head over to John and read John, chapter one, verses 15 through 51. Matthew, chapter 4.
Commentary
OK, so we have another really action-packed day of stories about Jesus, but one in particular That I would like to point out, because we read it not that long ago is Jesus announcement. Good news to the poor. That he reads in the synagogue. And He has given the scroll written from the prophet Isaiah. And he unrolls the scroll And he finds the place where it is written. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord has appointed me, He has sent me to preach good news to the poor, release to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to liberate the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. And he does so, and then all the eyes are fixed on him. And then he declares Today this Scripture has been fulfilled just as you heard it. And here's the thing, We're gonna read. And listen and hear And go through the stories, the miracles of Jesus. And The thing I love about it is Try to formulate what he does. Try to formulate. Well, if you say this and if you do this, then Jesus will do this and you'll get this outcome. You will not be able to. He's Jesus, About the time you start seeing patterns and OK, this is what he did here and this is what he does there, He does something to completely, Throw the formula off. Throw it out the window because he's Jesus. The Son of God. And he will do whatever he wants to do however he sees fit to do it. And while people will be amazed and will we see this today as they're sitting in the synagogue and they're listening and they're amazed, We will soon watch the opposition that takes place, and these are my favorite stories in the Bible, the teachings, the life of Jesus, how he approached women in a society where women are pretty much Second, rate citizens, and we know this to be true, because if you just go back in our history of 100 years or so, my grandmothers, Both of my grandmothers on both parents side, Were not able to vote. That was, and this was just over 100 years ago. We're going back in his society well over 2000 years, just like the stories of our own lives. People will be amazed, And people will be opposed. So I just want to know, Are you falling in love with this man named Jesus, in a whole new way? It will not take long.
Prayer
Father, we thank you for your word. We thank you. We have so much to thank you for. We have so much to be grateful for. Today, I'm thankful, That we hear the intention and the fulfillment Of Scripture, just as we heard, just as we read not too long ago. This man named Jesus was appointed and anointed to preach good news to the poor. We won't even approach the poor To proclaim release to the prisoners. Recovery of sight to the blind to liberate the oppressed. And to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor. So often have an idea of why Jesus came, But I love today that we hear the words from Jesus himself. And here we are, All of us broken hearted in one way or the other. We thank you for the hope and the confidence that he is the healer of our brokenness. And Jesus, we absolutely love you for it. Thank you, For coming To heal us from the inside out. We love you. We worship you. Honor you. We give you all glory, that your name will be praised and all of the earth. We pray this in the name of the Father, And the son, And the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Community Prayer Line
Hey guys this is Green life in Texas. I think I just submitted my other one to the wrong channel but I love both channels. But anyway, thank you DABC family for being awesome. I just wanted to come and ask for some prayer for my oldest son and my youngest son. My youngest son Tyler is about to be 21 and he is at college. And he is really, really struggling with his major. He's struggling with the courses, He's doubting himself. He's feeling like he doesn't fit in. All my kids are adopted and he we we got him when he was 13 and he's really struggled just fitting in in general and just kind of adapting to The fast-paced American life and the energy that it takes to be a kid here anyway, he's just just pray for him. He's kind of depressed and lost and he loves the Lord. He is a Christian, but he's going to have to dig deep and trust the Lord and so just lift him up. His name is Tyler and then my oldest son.Victor is, He has some special needs. He's got cognitive impairment, but he's high functioning and he's a hard worker. But we have been struggling finding a job for him. It's been six months now since he lost his last job at Amazon and he, yeah, just nobody wants to hire him. And it's very obvious when we talk to people, that they just don't want to have to deal with his disability and it's really frustrating now. They haven't come out and said that, but this is what we're running up against and it's just just pray. I know the Lord has a place for him, He's prepared, works in advance for all my children, but we're really getting frustrated and we're coming up to the crunch time. And so we just need wisdom. And anyway, thank you guys so much. This is good life in Texas. Love you guys and have a fabulous day. Bye.
DABC, family. This is kindergarten Katie and I Want to call in all the time, but I never feel like I can because I either don't have the time alone or the words or Whatever, Um. But so often, I desperately want people praying over my family, my divorce, my job, just everything. But I just don't feel like I ever can. And I happen to have the time right now, So I want to pray for all of the other DABbers out there who, Pray for the people who have something weighing on them that's just crushing them or bothering their minds or troubling their hearts. But for whatever reason, they don't feel like they can call. I pray that you will give them peace. And God, I pray that you will be with me as well in Jesus name. Amen.
Hello DABC Family, This is Diana from Florida and I wanna thank China for her beautiful message regarding The fact that rebuilding May look different for everybody and every situation. In some cases it may mean complete and full reconciliation of those relationships. And in other cases it may mean simply to rebuild The person who has been completely Damaged by cell relationship and there is no way for reconciliation to happen. In either case, I am asking for your prayers with regards to my marriage. I have been struggling with my marriage for about four or five years. Dealing with emotional abusive tendencies and even narcissistic tendencies. Unfortunately, from my husband's end. Over time I've educated myself on these things and Have gathered a lot of data and have reached out to many therapists and counselors for help. And unfortunately, I've only seen this progress and become worse over the years, even with me trying to change the way I communicate or change the way I do things. As a result, the, There have been some really negative incidences that have occurred With us, with me or with my children that are pretty much the last straw. And so now at this point I have given my husband not to meet him. For the end of this year To actually put in the work and start doing the deeper work. He still hasn't complied, but I'm trusting that God can do a miracle and turn this around. Will you pray with me? From my marriage to be rescued. I really need it.

"Thank you." He nodded his appreciation and turned to look out the window as she returned the the counter. It would be rude to return to his book for such a short wait, and peoplewatching could hold his interest well enough if it wasn't for a long period of time. He didn't pay any mind to the conversation behind him at the counter. Even if he'd been paying attention to what was going on back there, he wasn't close enough to even be able to hear what their hushed tones were saying.
When she set the small plate and steaming mug in front of him, Russell's gaze slowly shifted from the window to the order she'd suggested. Even the warm, sweet scent of the coffee and pastry felt welcoming, just like everything else about the cafe, from the comfortable decor to the friendly service. He raised his head to smile up at her appreciatively, but before he could thank her, she hit him with the question he always dreaded the most. An autograph.
Russell had spent weeks practicing imitating Enji Mizu's signature, repeatedly writing the characters on seemingly endless sheets of paper until his pen moved at a speed that looked convincing enough to be believable that it was his natural handwriting. Even then, it was tireless work to make sure it matched closely enough. Overall, he was relatively satisfied with the result. As far as he could tell, most fans would likely not be able to spot the difference, but there was always that chance that someone more well versed in handwriting analysis would be able to spot something subtle that he hadn't noticed. He hadn't been called on it yet, but there was always that nagging worry in the back of his mind that next time could be the time he was caught.
He tried not to let his smile stiffen, but he managed to recover himself in a few seconds. So he just gave her an agreeable nod, forcing a cool demeanor. "If you have a pen, I can give it to you right now," he offered, praying she wouldn't ask him to make it out to anyone. He wasn't nearly as confident as he seemed about making a personalized note look as believable as a specifically practiced signature. At least if it was just the name, he could drill those specific characters into his head, but a regular note was much harder. So he was never the one to offer and preferred to avoid it if it wasn't a specific request.
Trying to keep the focus off of what she may interpret as reluctance, he quickly gestured to the pastry and added. "This looks delicious, by the way. I appreciate the suggestion."
"Oh, I prefer lattes too!" Haruko exclaimed, happy to notice the fun coincidence before going back to a more formal approach with an awkward cough. "I mean, of course. I'll be right back."
She noted down her order and headed back to the counter, where Momoi was waiting for her with eyes wide. As soon as Haruko was within ear's reach, she hurried to whisper to her: "So?? Was it him?"
Haruko answered with a faint nod, not wanting to drag too much attention. Momoi instead let out an excited squeal.
"I knew it! Oh my gosh Haruko, imagine if people knew! This place would be so popular!"
"I'd rather not," Haruko admitted as she started preparing the latte. "People like it here because it's quiet... And it would scare him away too."
"Hm. I hadn't thought of it." Momoi pouted. "Well. Can you at least get me an autograph??"
Haruko sighed. "Sure. As long as you don't tell anyone he was here, okay?"
Momoi crossed her chest with a grin. Haruko answered a resigned look, finished putting the order together and put the mug and plate on a tray, carrying it back to Enji Mizu.
"Here you are," she said, tidily placing everything in front of him. "Uh... I'm sorry, I know you probably get this question a lot but... My friend is a big fan of yours," Haruko confessed, giving the deejay an embarrassed smile. "Would it be possible to have an authograph for her? At your best convenience of course..."

Time heals (sometimes) - Teaser 1
Summary: 6 years ago, (Y/N) thought that she was finally taking her life into her hands, leaving behind a toxic and abusive relationship with a man who taught her she’d never be worthy of love. However, it became hard to ignore his words when she met her seven soulmates who rejected her without even giving her a chance to prove herself. It took (Y/N) 3 years to realize that it wouldn’t be her end. She would live on to prove them all wrong; she would become what they all thought she wasn’t: someone worthy of love. And as she stands proudly on the stage, under the burning spotlights and the applause and the cries of the delirious crowd, she feels alive. Alive, just like the bond she believed to be broken.
Pairings: Y/N x OT7
GENRE: Soulmate AU!, Idol Y/NAU!, semi social-media AU!, ANGST (mainly), fluff, romance, maybe smut in the series.
Ask or comment to be tagged!
Warnings: The series is going to be heavy with a lot of personal experiences mixed into the fiction, so this is going to be kind of therapeutic for me. Please, consider not reading the series if you are not comfortable with: abandonment issues, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, self-harm (not descriptive and only part of MC’s past), suicide thoughts (in the past), toxic behavior, toxic and abusive relationship (in the past), depreciating self-talk and low self-esteem, a lot of curse, physical and mental pain, near death experience situation (in the past), and maybe smut scenes (happy ending though, but it will probably be quite the ride).
NOTE: I was thinking of “Moonchild” and for some reasons, some memories I’d prefer to have forgotten came back to my mind and instead of making a full-blown panic attack like I used to, I thought that it would make a great plot if I mingled that with a soulmate and idol verse and that’s how I started going into it. This is going to be loaded with personal experiences, even if they’ll probably be a bit differently explained compared to what I experienced. Despite the heavy themes and many warnings, I hope you guys will like it. I think I really needed to write it. It will be a semisocial media AU!, because I like the idea of being to write some of their conversations through texts. However, I do plan on fully writing most of it. Though, you’ll have some updates about their social medias as I will update their profiles soon after you see this. I will probably mix a lot of different media for this story such as songs written and produced by myself. I’ll upload for real MC’s EP. So expect a lot for this story. Please take well care, feedback is always very warmly welcomed, it helps me to write for real. If you need to talk to someone, my dms are always opened and if you really don’t feel well, please call urgency numbers.
Thank you for reading,
-Dolly
"And we will close our night show with the most awaited segment! The audience jumped during the commercial break, it's amazing how many people just joined us! Welcome to our interview segment and especially, welcome and thank you so much for being with us Moon!”
"Of course, thank you for having me on your radio show."
"Thank you for coming! I have to mention that this is your very first interview with another media than your usual personal platforms like Vlive, YouTube, or Instagram, so we are honored to be the first ones to greet you! Do you plan on making more activities outside your personal schedule for the promotion of your new album?"
"If I may be honest, not really. I'm the most comfortable in my own safe zone and I tend to try not to get out of it too often. It might close some doors to me but I'm comfortable with my fans that way. However, I often listen to this radio show and a lot of my fans were enthusiastic about that so I thought: why not."
"Ah, thank you so much, it means a lot! Your fans are indeed a strong community and they support you whether you go to TV shows or not. Besides, you've been a very active artist on social media and your whole career started on YouTube and SoundCloud before you signed to your current agency. We have to congratulate you on your journey! It's barely been two years but here you are, with your second EP 'People'! Congratulations on the release!"
"Thank you very much."
“For our listeners who might not know who Moon is, I’m going to introduce her to you: Moon, your real name is (Y/N), you were born on August 4th, 1998, Incheon and your mother was American so you pursued your studies in America. You have been taking online classes since the start of your career at the HULT, university of Florida, and even recently got your Business Bachelor, now aiming for a Ph.D. You started your journey on Youtube, uploading covers and vlogs until you finally started producing your own songs, releasing them on Soundcloud. You started gaining a lot of followers; thus, you started on other social media such as Twitter or Instagram. One year ago, you release your first EP called ‘BALANCE’ which is the reason why the music label BigHit reached to you and asked you if you wanted to sign with them. Did I get everything right?”
“You are. It feels like you know my life better than I do.”
"Ah not at all, but thank you, I am glad that I didn’t say something wrong! Would you mind sharing the concept of this EP? Many of your fans probably already know but maybe some of our daily listeners might not!"
"Of course. As you said, 'People' is my second EP, yet the first to be studio recorded. Signing with BigHit is a big step in my career and it created a lot of changes, hence I decided to focus on the people I have met, stayed with, became close to, or detached myself from… This is dedicated to the people who changed my life, whether they intended to or not. It could be interpreted as my social life diary in a way."
"I see, many of your fans have said that the album held a very distinct duality, with a bright and a much darker side that made quite the storm on social media. ‘Y/N our Moon’ and ‘MOONISBACK’ trended for a few nights on Twitter. Do you have anything you'd like to say about that?"
"I guess it was a surprise because this mini-album is really raw and uncensored. I didn't try to sugarcoat it nor to romanticize my experiences. I hope it brings comfort to people who haven't been feeling well. Because I think that it’s always easy to say that it's going to be okay to someone who’s not feeling well. Everything doesn’t suddenly become okay. And it's fine to be hurting, you can learn to live with this pain and move on while still hoping for better days. There is no end to hopes, and this is why my EP has a brighter side to it. Not everything is always a vast cold ocean. Sometimes, there are small or big waves that come crashing into our universe and they form something that we couldn't have imagined. They bring a little piece of sunshine in life and it helps to move on. So I hope that people who are struggling know that, despite how insignificant I might be, there is a person that understands and can relate to their struggles. I hope it can comfort them, even just slightly, to know that they are not alone."
"That's a beautiful way to put it."
"Ah, thank you."
"I have to ask because I'm really curious and I’m definitely not the only one: a lot of your fans have been theorizing about who could your title track ‘TIME’ be about? I have to ask you on the behalf of everyone. Is it okay for me to break the mystery?"
"Time is a track that shouldn’t have made it to the EP. It’s a bit like a fit of personal anger that I didn’t know I needed to let out.”
“Your anger was definitely heard and understood. People have been curious about the addressee of the song especially because of the line ‘maybe it’s time I finally let go of you’. So can you tell us who is it about?”
“Uh...Time was written for my seven soulmates who rejected me years ago."
"Seven!?"
"Yeah, it's a lot I know.”
“Is that why you have covered your soul mark with this tattoo on your arm? Netizens talked about it a lot; normally idols tend to cover their arm from the public eyes to avoid for their soulmates’ names to be known, but instead, you were proudly showing your tattooed arm, fully covering what might be under the ink. Many people assumed that it meant that you didn’t have a soulmate at all.”
“Well, I decided to cover the mark because there was no reason for me to keep it without hurting myself. I decided that I have been hurt enough to let myself take a rest. I didn’t see the point in hiding my arm either, I’m proud of my tattoo, I mean; it’s really a beautiful piece in my opinion. But to answer the assumptions, I don’t consider that I have soulmates anymore, hence why the tattoo as well."
"This is really a heartbreaking story, it must have been extremely hard. Breaking a soul bond is immensely dangerous, my link with my husband already itches when I spend the day away from him, so seven soul bonds? It must have been terrible."
"It was, but the most important is where I am now. I'm not lingering on that anymore because they made their choices and I thus made mine. I just hope that they all are healthy and happy where they are."
"I have to say I'm really impressed (Y/N)-shi, you really have a delicate and caring soul. I probably wouldn't be able to have such soft words about your soulmates had I been in your shoes."
"I think living the actual experience made me reflect on myself a lot. I'm comfortable where I am now, I'm able to do music and make what I love. I have nothing to complain about, I'm surrounded by lovely and supportive fans, I have the best manager I could have ever hoped for and a warm and healthy family. I don't need more on my side."
"I'm glad you are happy then. Many of your fans have pointed out it's really hard to make you smile and some wonder if you are happy, especially after the release of ‘TIME’, I don’t blame some of your fans for being worried."
"Ahhh, is smiling the only way to prove that we are happy? I believe my words are usually a bit more impactful than my facial expressions. I have to admit that I don't often smile, it's not a bad thing, at least I don't think so, but I just don't feel the need to smile when I don’t feel like it. Besides, I get shy easily when I expose my emotions too much."
"It's hard to imagine you being shy but at the same time now that I have you in front of me, our listeners cannot see you, but I definitely feel that you have a very shy and reserved aura despite the energy you give off when you are on stage. It’s not unfriendly either, but you’re just very soft-spoken and quiet in everything you do. Like when you came in, I barely heard you entering at all; you’re just silently making your way without a fuss, it’s really endearing, to be honest."
"Ah... I’ve been told that my stage persona and the ‘me’ in real life were two different entities but I don’t really think it’s true. I'm extremely introverted and it doesn't really mix well with the stage. So I just put it on the side for the people who came to see me and deserve to see more than a 24 years old woman who has troubles speaking without stuttering in front of other people."
"You stutter when you have to speak in front of other people?"
"Sometimes it happens when I’m nervous, and I’m very often nervous. Like right now, I’m extremely nervous. But it's something I'm working on."
"Well it's definitely paying off because I couldn't sense that you were nervous at all, just very calm and soft, but I wouldn’t be able to imagine you being nervous enough to stutter."
"A lot of artists actually have stage fright, most of them just don't want to admit it because it doesn't sound sexy when you tell your fans you're actually shaking before going up there for the show."
"This is very true, but it's refreshing to hear it from someone who actually lives through that rather than fan theories."
"That's understandable."
"Our time is coming to the end, do you have anything you would like to add before we sadly get our mics taken away?"
"Oh uhm, everyone, my new mini-album 'People' came out very recently and yet it already received a lot of love so I want to thank you for that. This EP was a very personal project and I was worried about how it would be welcomed but you all made me realize that I have nothing to fear because we'll always find someone who can relate to our stories. As long as I can help even one person with my songs, then it's enough for me. Thank you for listening to me and my voice. I hope we'll be able to meet soon. Love you my fans and non-fans as well, please take well care of yourselves in those times. Be careful and stay safe. Wear your mask!"
“Thank you so much Moon for being with us tonight. Our time was short but I really enjoyed it, I hope our listeners were able to feel that very warm presence of yours through the mic. ‘Give Me A Song’ of Moon’s EP ‘People’ will now be playing and we will see each other tomorrow night with IU for the release of her new album LILAC. Take care!”

About the flying pigeon in the trailer
When Victor skates out onto the ice and greets the audience there’s a split second of a common pigeon flying through the frame. The direction of its flight caught my attention: it comes from the same direction as Victor and flies high and above into the direction he’s facing (forward).

After some quick googling about bird symbolism and meaning the following appears to be the general consensus:
birds as a connection between heaven and earth/messengers between the divine and humans
being good or bad omens depending on bird species and way of encounter (I.e. flying vs. dead bird)
in general they have the meaning of freedom and ease due to their ability to fly (as well as being able to walk/run, swim and dive)
“They encourage us to aim high and realize our goals despite the challenges we might face as we chase those dreams.” Source: https://www.richardalois.com/symbolism/bird-symbolism
In my opinion there’s a distinction to be made between the white dove and the common pigeon in terms of symbolism. I don’t think their symbolism differs all that much, just that a white dove has more weight in its meaning, so to say (I.e. all the added religious/spiritual meanings). The following I think can easily be applied to common pigeons (I barely found results discussing them, the focus was always on the white doves):
gentle, peaceful, and loving creatures. They can be domesticated as a pet and be quite devoted to their human
Resilient and adaptive (they are found almost everywhere in the world)
Hope and love
“Dove symbolism can also be heralding an end of a problematic cycle in your life, thereby announcing a time of new worlds opening up to you. In other words, there are possibilities of a new romance, new friendships, and new beginnings on the horizon for you.” Source: https://www.richardalois.com/symbolism/bird-symbolism
“Doves are a good omen, meaning representing deep personal peace or the clearing of one’s troubled mind. They are found across many cultures and religions, most of which carry the same meaning.” Source: https://chipperbirds.com/bird-symbol/
I especially liked the quotes I found and think they might be fitting in this case. I don’t want to interpret too much but a few things seem to be fair guesses:
Victor will have a successful showing at the Olympics (in ep. 10 where Victor narrates one of the medals his Chibi self is holding in the beginning is the Torino 2006 Olympic gold medal--however it appears that the 2006 Olympics in the YOI verse take place in Paris, still it’s a hint) Edit 2: the rink we see in the teaser might not be the Olympic rink, but from a competition at the beginning of the season, possibly the Trophée Eric Bompard, aka the grad prix qualifier event in France. The rink boards during the Olympics don’t feature sponsors but just the chosen colour (-scheme) of the Olympic cycle and the Olympic rings, whereas all the other skating competitions always have sponsor ads on the rink boards, just like the rink in the teaser.
The combination of the flight direction of the dove, the concentrated, centered appearance of young Victor in the teaser and the first quote about Dove symbolism all tie nicely together
The dove isn’t exactly supposed to be in the rink at that moment which is why I looked into bird/dove/pigeon symbolism in the first place Edit 1: apparently the pigeon lives in the rink/arena irl? Which means that again SayoKubo pay insane amounts of attention to detail.
Victor was still in the junior division when he was 16. The skating season starts in September with Senior competitions (juniors start a bit earlier) and goes until the end of March/beginning of April. For him to be at the Olympics when he’s 17 years old means it’s his first senior season during which he turned 17. (He basically pulled a Zagitova: join the senior division in the olympic year. I wouldn’t put it past Sayo/Kubo to use Alina as an inspiration here tbh.) This ties well with the meaning of new beginning/the start of a new era that the quote mentions but can also be interpreted into the flight of the pigeon that the teaser shows.

UUGHUGUUGHEGH THE WAY HIS MUSIC VARIES YET STILL HOLDS THE SAME ELEMENTS IS SO INTERESTING TO ME??? Kikuo has always experiemnted with music; hell he never properly learned chords or music theory (his high school music teacher said music theory makes songs boring which is lowk so real!!) BUT ive been listening "just wanna xxxx with you" he phantom siita song written and composed by kikuo and you can so clearly hear that. yes. THATS kikuo. I like to anaylyze his different albums and just wanna xxx with you reminds me of a mix of kikuo miku 3 and kikuo miku 6. it also has the instrumental mixes and almost sporaticness of kikuoworld 1 and 2? like that random phonk part for like a few seconds right before the verse after the 1st chorus and AUGH it feels random but it fits so well?? I feel like thats what he does best he is able to mix the CRAZIEST of shit into like??? amazing awesome catchy just mind-blowing music?? (popular example: kara kara). also his unreliable time signatures. it FEELS like 3/4 but sometimes 4/4 THEN SUDDENLY??? ITS IN 6/8???? LIKE HEELLLOOO???? AND THATS SOO EVIDENT IN SO MANY OF HIS SONGS. he tends to lean towards waltz tempos/signatures but he can be sooo unreliable and im CRAZY for that. also very kikuo thing to do his the repitition. he LOVES repeating words. the entire first section for just wanna xxxx with you consists of the girls repeating "oh" (because theyre theyre saying 1, 000,000 and then they say it again but instead its "ichi zero zero zero rei rei rei and UUUGGHHH) and then the entire chorus revolves around the word play with them saying using chuu chuu as kissing and then chi chi chi meaning blood). also kikuo uses a lot of electronics mixed with orchestral stuffs but he never does in a stereotypical violin playing way its always straight to the point and. staccato. he takes advantage of usually soft instruments playing staccato and accented notes, giving the impression of an unexpected twist where its not expected? he has a lot of "twists" in his music. like. the breakcore in "breaking things into pieces" or even twists in the MEANING of the song for example "we should not do bad things" which youd think is about a kid afraid to do bad things because of some sort of trauma from a punishment but NO its about child/human trafficking and the child is saying no to do bad things or they'll be taken "away". thats one interpretation at least. but you werent expecting that, right??? its already known about his dark themes and lyrics but i just think. the way everything is presented. its. oughhhhhhhhhghghgeghehgehughehguehugeghge. i looked through his old blog a while back and researched on PtPD (although i tend to stay away from it for reasons). kikuo had been making music since he was like. what. 14? that blog came about around 2008/2009, so at the time he was not big, he wasn't doing vocaloid, he was still in the game ost era and stuffs- but GOD his blog entries are so intriguing. he did say that during his early or "dark" days, he viewed being "edgy" as a way to gain traction; but that thought process was eliminated soon after. He and Si_ku were already personal friends but he still hadnt combined with her to do like album covers and shit cuz like. he wasnt that big yet. so all his kikuoworld albums, plus any early early songs 2008~2011/12, the illustrations would most likely be his. that was another intrusting thing. the drawings on his blog were sooo. intriguing. it was all intruging i studied that shit like crazy it was. bad. anyways so he was also having personal problems near that time as well (i believe he had just moved into a city area and he was hacing trouble adjusting plus IF i intrepreted one blog entry correctly; there was a fire??? in his apartment at some point???) okay getting off topic here BUT. i feel like that switch from needing to be "edgy" to gain traction to kikuo actually HAVING a good fanbase and being able to just. write whatever. THATS when you notice that shift in music. You could see it more in his 2017-current era. he still- shit i ran out of characters. lmao
i love anaylyzing my favorite musician's musical trends

Awake by Jin
** Disclaimer: It's not my first time listening to this song, and at this point I'm very familiar with it so this won't be written with fresh thoughts, but these are my thoughts that may or may not be swayed due to my knowledge of the song so don't judge me. (I have avoided listening to it for a couple of weeks though, to try to replicate a first experience as closely as i could.)
** Another disclaimer: I'm not fluent in Korean (yet), so I will be relying on BangtanSubs for the translations of the lyrics.
----------
3 seconds in, and you're already in for a surprise. It doesn't sound like the typical 'Bangtan' sound. (Although yes, I am aware that BTS have different sounds because they do different genres,) but there aren't that many BTS songs that have an orchestral accompaniment; (Black Swan and Lie are the only ones I can list from the top of my head, but even those have a mix of modern to them.) To me, the 'Bangtan' sound is more of a digital sound, if that makes sense to you. If it doesn't, that's fine, my brain has an unusual way of linking things together.
The intro does a good job of pulling you in. It kind of gets you ready for what's to come; though Bangtan does a good job of going the complete opposite direction of where you think it's going. It's building tension, amplifying the listener's curiosity as to what direction it's headed.
I don't know if it's because I know what this is song is about that makes me hear this but to me it sounds both sad yet accepting. The dynamic accents, and the chords make it sound sad, especially since the notes seem to be going downward, that is, until the last seconds of the intro, when the notes are ascending strongly, followed by a tremolo*.
To me, the intro sounds like sad acceptance; like it's saying: "This thing is making me feel sad, and that's okay. I've accepted the fact that it's making me feel sad, and I'm okay with feeling sad about it." The fast ascending notes feel like that's him trying to feel 'okay' again. Kinda like when you get too tired from running, so you slow down into a walk, but after a while you have to gather up energy and start running again. That's what it feels like to me.
When Jin's voice finally comes in, it's quite soothing. Similar to taking a warm bath after an exhausting day, the tension that the strings were building fades as the strings stop, Jin's singing a capella for a short while before a piano joins him.
There's something very vulnerable with singing with just a few instruments backing you up. Since there isn't much noise to compete with, you're able to very clearly hear the singer's voice.
The way Jin sings in this song kind of amplifies the vulnerability. He sounds a bit breathy, especially in the beginning of his lines. His voice isn't quiet, though it sounds like it should be. He sings almost like he's whispering a secret, or more plausibly in this case, like he's admitting his insecurities.
It doesn't sound small as you would expect when one would voice out their insecurities. There's a sense of stability when he sings, like he's sure of what he's saying, even if it's a little sad.
Then the pre-chorus comes in with Jin singing in his mixed voice that I'm absolutely in awe of, and honestly I could ramble on about Jin's voice but that's not what this is about.
The strings filter back in, and you could tell it's slowly building up to the chorus.
The pull back of the instruments, along with what sounds like a bass dropping just as Jin sings "maybe I, I..." sounds like a bit like a realization to me.
(I know I said I wasn't going to talk about Jin's voice but holy shit his high notes when he sings 'sky' is chefs kiss. Can you believe he apparently had no experience with singing before joining Bangtan? because I can't, his vocals are absolutely insane.)
You know this song is a sad one based on the lyrics, (even if you haven't checked the translations yet, he literally has a line in english saying maybe he can never fly) but it doesn't sound hopeless. Him reaching the high notes, literally sounds like he's reaching out. Kinda like when you're standing on your tippy toes trying to reach a mug from the cabinet, and it's right there and you can almost reach it but you're not quite there, and even though you know you can't reach it by just standing on your tippy toes, you're still reaching out your hand regardless.
The second verse sounds much more stable than the first. The lines don't start with whispers this time. Except for that one line, where he breaks into a whisper again at '정말.' The line says "You, are you really okay, it asked me." This could be unintentional, but then again coincidences are hardly a thing with Bangtan.
It reminds me of the feeling when you're at a weird place mentally and you think you're okay but you're actually not, and you don't realize until a weird things triggers you, like if someone asks if you're okay then suddenly you're breaking down, and you realize that no, you're not okay.
But the next lines sound more nonchalant, like he's answering the question in a 'it's not a big deal' kinda way. "Oh no, I replied, No, I’m so afraid, Still, I hold the 6 flowers tightly in my hands" He's answering the question like 'no, I'm not okay, I am very much terrified, but it's not like it will stop me. I will still continue doing this thing even if I'm scared.'
Since there's no power in the way he sings, it doesn't really sound like a hero's determination, it just sounds like he's stating a fact. Like he's saying 'this is the way things are' with a shrug, no sadness intended despite it's lyrics.
There's not much difference in the second chorus other than he uses his mixed voice rather than his head voice in the '안 돼' part. I'm not sure if this particular change means anything considering it's quite common for the second chorus to be more powerful than the first. Take that as you will.
In the bridge, he sings "Wide awake Wide awake Wide awake, Don’t cry , Wide awake Wide awake Wide awake, No lie" I could interpret that in two ways. It could be that he's being kept up by his loud thoughts, and his "don't cry" is him trying to comfort himself, trying to keep himself from crying though he's already on the verge of tears, or the "don't cry" could be telling him telling himself (not unkindly) that it's not something to cry about, that he's accepted it and has moved on– is moving on.
The "no lie" line supports my second assumption since he's just saying things as it is. Although many of us would argue that yes, Jin is talented, great at what he does, and just as great as the others, that isn't what he feels to be true, so technically, he isn't lying.
However the way Jin sings the lines sound more like he's aiming for comfort so that aligns with my first assumption more, but who knows, it could be either, it could both, it can even be neither.
The last chorus is both softer and more powerful than the previous choruses. It kinda sounds like he's whispering the words to himself one last time before it sinks in, then finally it does and he belts out: "I can’t (fly) like the flower petals over there, Or as though I have wings" Like he's shouting it out to the world, but it's not from a place of frustration but rather from a place of peace and acceptance. He's not shouting 'I'm not on par with them, and I'm frustrated that I can't be!' but rather 'This is who I am, and I've finally accepted that this is a part of me.'
Unlike the first chorus though, the ending of this chorus sounds more hopeful. The strings sound more playful joyful now, and that's leading me to believe that its toying around the idea that maybe one day Jin will no longer feel as though he's chasing behind the members. That he'd realize that he's always been running beside them, and not after them all along.
Overall, I think this song is just Jin being vulnerable but not in a sense that he's wavering, or opening the door for the first time, but like he's giving us a tour of the room itself. He's already explored, he's sure about his feelings, and even though the thoughts are sad, that's okay because he won't really beat himself up over it. This song is one of my (many) favourites from Bangtan. Despite the sad tone, I think this is a strangely comforting song.

*Tremolo is the rapid reiteration of a musical tone or of alternating tones to produce a tremulous. (On a violin it's the rapid back and forth movement of the bow on the same note, you know, when the violin sounds like it's wiggling.)
