Listened to SecondCaptains players chair interview with ex Ireland and Arsenal goalkeeper Emma Byrne.
it was great, she's just great and she's done some great things.
It's International Womens Day so I figured I'd try a quick drawing of Ireland's most successful footballer in history.

Phil Hay issues an intriguing theory about Leeds after the weeked, and he's spot on - opinion
Leeds United journalist Phil Hay believes that the incident which occurred during the Aston Villa game will help the club in their push for promotion.
Despite the Whites failing to find a win for the third consecutive match Hay believes that Sunday may have reignited the fire in the belly of the squad before the playoffs.
What’s been said then?
The Yorkshire Evening Post writer appeared on the secondcaptains podcast this week to discuss the fallout of the game at Elland Road on Sunday.
The Scotsman commented that he believed that the Leeds squad were losing their edge in recent weeks which culminated in two losses over the Easter weekend.
Hay went on to say that the team needed a wake-up call and he believes that the incident during the Villa game was exactly what they needed:
“This was quite a handy situation for Leeds, they needed a shot in the arm from somewhere.
“They had a shocking Easter weekend which was very costly and ultimately fatal in terms of their chances of finishing second. The players looked flat over Easter, they looked nervous and I thought you could see the confidence draining out of them.
“I think it will help them that they’ve had a day where they’ve felt the fire again and felt the burn.
“I think it has pulled everybody together where they needed to find some impetus and some momentum again.”
Spot on
Phil Hay couldn’t be more right with his summary if he tried. His sentiments were also echoed by Sunday’s goalscorer Mateusz Klich who said:
“I think we needed to play like this.
“We need to be sharp, we need to play our style, we need to be aggressive. It’s all up to us and we’ve come so far. I hope we’re going to get through the playoffs.
“It (Sunday) was very important, not only for me but for the whole team. If you feel good on the pitch and play well and then you build confidence and play well in the next game.”
Leeds have always been a club who thrived off of the hate and vitriol of opposition fans and the media alike. They love to face a challenge and that may be partly the reason why they capitulated towards the end of the season when it seemed impossible for them to miss out on a spot in the top two.
The bust-up with Villa on Sunday will give them an added dimension and extra motivation heading into the playoffs, and that will be doubled if they come up against Dean Smith’s side at Wembley in May.

Ep 2115: GAA Taster Menu As Mayo Win At Last, Eoin Eats Humble Pie, Ken Cries Foul - 16/08/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... We've assembled a crack punditry outfit for our analysis of Dublin/Mayo tomorrow, but there's no doubt this was the sporting event of the weekend. Ken bemoans some refereeing decisions that went against the Dubs, while Eoin eats some humble pie for laughing off the demise of his beloved boys in blue. Murph on the other hand is on top of the world - the Dubs' dominance is over, Offaly and Roscommon were both in an All-Ireland final, and a Meath team came back from the dead in classic Royaller style to qualify for their first ever women's football final yesterday. "We've gone back to the future and it feels sooooo good...."

Ep 2133: The Return of Meathness, Dublin Dethroned, Leona Maguire Lights Up The Solheim Cup - 6/9/21 by The Second Captains Podcast .... It was a classic All-Ireland women's football final in Croke Park yesterday, which saw Meath stun the four-in-a-row champions Dublin in a major shock. It was however no shock to seasoned watchers and admirers of Meathness - Murph gives us a run-down on just what makes the Royallers tick. Leona Maguire is the first Irishwoman to play in the Solheim Cup, but she wasn't content to get there - ever since the competition began on Saturday morning, she's been a revelation. Her singles match this evening could be pivotal, and with Katie Taylor winning on Saturday evening as well, it was a very, very good week to be an Irish sportswoman.

Ep 2340: City Clench And Clinch, Football Dictators, Mbappe's Staying Power, Saipan Fresh - 23/5/22 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Manchester City are the Premier League champions, again sealing the title with a 3-2 comeback win at home. We talk about City's win and how in the end the players carried their manager over the line. We are joined by Miguel Delaney and Jonathan Wilson to talk about City's win. The last day provided the drama, but is the competition in a healthy state? Is the billionaire-worship of football fans an ominous sign for wider society? And while we're about it, who was right in Saipan anyway?

Ep 2335: Now That's What I Call A Hurling Championship, Meath Spurn The Liam Hayes Way - 16/05/22 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Cork were mad as hell and they just weren’t gonna take it anymore… and their defeat of Waterford yesterday has blown the entire championship wide open.  Waterford are now relying on winless Tipperary to do them a favour next week, otherwise the league champions won’t even qualify out of Munster.  And a packed Cusack Park in Ennis was a stark contrast to how spinelessly Meath exited the Leinster football championship - a situation which moved Ken almost to tears.

Ep 2334: City Slip, Treason At Wembley, Newcastle Fly The Flag - 16/05/22 by The Second Captains Podcast .... There was little in West Ham's record against Guardiola-era Man City to suggest they would cause many problems to the aspiring champions yesterday, but it turned out Jarrod Bowen and Lukasz Fabianski had other ideas. Meanwhile Liverpool won the FA Cup yet defiled the occasion by booing both the anthem and the second in line to the throne.  Dion Fanning and Gavin Cooney join us to analyse the weekend's action. How confident can Jack Grealish be of getting his hands on the league trophy next Sunday? Why can't Liverpool beat their closest rivals? And why are Everton's matches now appointment television? We also discuss the controversy around Newcastle's Saudi Arabia-style change kit.

Ep 2301: David Clifford The GOAT, Waterford Narrow The Gap - 04/04/22 by The Second Captains Podcast .... Kerry and Waterford were crowned national football and hurling League winners at the weekend, and as befits spring champions, their prospects are looking very rosy indeed for the summer ahead.
