Nick Visser at HuffPost:
Many career diplomats at the State Department will resign at noon on Monday after being asked to leave by the incoming Trump administration, The Washington Post reports. President-elect Donald Trump’s aides have told a number of veterans of the U.S. Foreign Service, including those working as undersecretaries and in other high-level positions, that they will no longer be needed from the moment of his inauguration. That list includes John Bass, the State Department’s acting undersecretary for political affairs. Asking top officials to leave is standard in the changing of the guard for near presidencies, although some presidents will keep longtime diplomats in their posts until they are replaced with other appointees. [...] Trump also plans to suspend the security clearances for 51 intelligence officials who said damaging news stories about President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, were linked to a Russian influence campaign in 2020.
The State Department purges have begun. Lots of expertise gone, as national security is being jeopardized.

Private military contractors, like Lockheed Martin, hold more intel that is closer to the truth related to recent unexplainable occurrences, UAPs, Jeffrey Epstein, 5G towers put up when cellular towers are still in use, mRNA gene editing, undiagnosable medical conditions, and the relationship of all of these to quantum computing, than any government agency.

This sounds bad to me. The incoming administration is characterizing it as "the bureaucracy is slow, we are giving people access while the paperwork gets worked out." I read is as closer to "half the incoming senior staff cannot pass a security check, we are going to ignore that and give them access anyway."
Is this as bad as it sounds to me?

President Trump rescinded an executive order targeting a prominent law firm after it agreed to drop DEI policies and provide $40 million in pro bono work for Trump-aligned causes. It’s the latest in a series of actions Trump has taken targeting firms that either were connected to criminal cases brought against him or firms that represented Democrats. John Yang discussed more with Rachel Cohen.

Small business must grow into federal government classified programs. Individual and company clearance designations exist at various levels, depending on the relative risk to national security if unauthorized disclosure occurs.”

President Trump on Friday night rescinded the security clearances of former Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, several members of the Biden administration, and other prominent Democrats.
The move comes after Mr. Trump had already announced last month that he was revoking former President Joe Biden's security clearance. In a memo Friday, the president said he was also rescinding the security clearances of the entire Biden family.
Also losing their access to classified information and their security clearances were former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, New York Attorney General Letita James, Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg, former White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, former Rep. Elizabeth Cheney, former White House Russia expert Fiona Hill, former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, former U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic Norman Eisen, and attorney Mark Zaid, who was a lawyer for the whistleblower who reported concerns about the Mr. Trump's dealings with Ukraine in his first White House term.

A smug man from Canada wasted no time this morning chastising Americans for re-electing terrifying liar and felon Donald Trump, despite the fact that he plans to vote for terrifying liar and asshole Pierre Poilievre in the next Canadian election.
Matt Hunter, a 36-year-old barista, took time away from attending a Poilievre rally to rant about how stupid Americans were for falling for Trump’s fascist bullshit.
“I just can’t believe that someone could look at a petty asshole running on slogans, lies, and faux outrage and think, ‘Yeah, this guy will be good for the country,’” Hunter laughed, taking a quick second to repost an “Axe the Tax, Build the Homes, Fix the Budget, Stop the Crime” tweet on X. “It makes no sense. Luckily we up here in Canada have more common sense. Pierre says so.”
