But while I'm thinking about this, I'm watching, they get up, we go and nobody's there, and it's totally without incident. We wind up at the Dakota, and we go into their apartment and everything is like white on white, very minimalist. It looks like you would expect their home to look. We're sitting and talking, and baby Sean is with a nanny; I never got to see him. We're sitting and talking, and Rick is feeling very comfortable with Yoko, because remember, Yoko is the one who took our John away from us, and not a lot of people like her. And Rick was in the same position. So they're bonding.

I have to go back to 1965. This was in 1976, I believe. 1965, when I was in New York and the Beatles were here -- it's their second year here -- somebody gets me into a party at the Warwick Hotel in New York. Now, I only have John to meet. I go over to where John is. He's standing with two women, neither of whom was Cynthia. And he looks high; he looks like he's totally stoned, whacked out of his mind. I go over to him, "Hi, John, I'm Carole King. I'm really glad to meet you." Honestly, I cannot remember what he said, but he was so rude. It was like a smack. I'm like, I'm getting out of here. I left. All those months or years, I had wondered, what was up with that? So here I am in the house with a very happy John. He tells us how happy he is. He's so comfortable being a house husband. [laughter] And he's really happy. So there's this big elephant in the room that nobody sees but me.

So I broached the subject. "John, do you remember meeting me at the Warwick Hotel?" [laughter] And he says, "Remind me." So I'm thinking he must not remember, he's met how many people? I said, "Well, you were very rude to me and I was just wondering, I mean, I was just curious, why? What was going on?" And he says, "Do you really want to know?" So I'm thinking, he does remember. He says, "You and Gerry were such great songwriters. I was intimidated." [laughter/applause] So I say, "Oh, don't worry about it. It's all right, it's all right."

Then we go on to talk about other things. He says, "Let's hear from your man." And my man starts talking to John about these – he's a total survivalist. He wants to take us away from society, where I make my income and where my children live, and he wants to just do whatever you can imagine, like when they retreat from the world. I'm horrified hearing this, because it's the first I've heard about this. [laughter] I'm getting chills listening to this. John listens to this and his comment, after Rick finished laying it all out, was, "Well, I couldn't do that. I'd have me a bag of rice, but what about everyone else?" [laughter] That's our John, that's the John that wrote "Imagine."

I was just wrapped in this blanket. I don't remember what was said after that. Just wrapped in this blanket of the warm, caring, wonderful person that John Lennon proved to be. And as we know in "Give Me Some Truth" or "Run For Your Life," that wasn't the John. But we know the John and who he really was. I'm so grateful that I had that evening.

well, I'll start off with:

you know what. you're right. yue gets waterbender rights in this AU. primarily she focuses on being zuko and toph's medic (because doing terrorism and fighting the avatar naturally results in injures) and she only has limited combat waterbending ability given. well. the northern water tribe is going to northern water tribe.

the pro-bending scene is extremely tempting- especially to toph. but it's also a little hard to hide your identity as a terrorist and participate in pro-bending matches and terrorism is more fun, so she choose that one. does that stop toph from getting ringside seats whenever she gets the chance? absolutely not. she drags zuko and yue along too whenever she gets the chance.

you know who else loves pro-bending? sokka. toph cracks her facade just a little whenever she meets sokka at a match, because sokka loves betting on the matches and he is very bad at it. she will in fact, fleece him for all he's worth.

aang recruits suki's help to smuggle zuko into ba sing se, because they should probably do something about long feng and the dai li before they take down fire lord ozai. and by that I mean, he has suki dress zuko up as a kyoshi warrior. meanwhile, azula is on the trail of the blue spirit and just walks right into ba sing se.

azula will link zuko to lee, and consequently, the blue spirit- but she won't immediately tell her father this. she'd like a little one on one with her long lost brother first. it doesn't have to be this way, zuzu. you could still join us. tell me where you're hiding uncle, and perhaps father will forgive you.

My VPN messes with resolv.conf, and also blocks DNS requests to non-VPN servers, to avoid DNS leaks

My network manager also messes with resolv.conf upon connecting to a wifi router

When the wifi's spotty and the network manager keeps having to reconnect, this causes conflict, and like half of my DNS requests just kinda immediately fail

of course anon! just a heads up that while i may personally headcanon animatronics with certain sexualities, doesn't mean that i have any sort of issue with others headcanoning otherwise! they're fictional characters with no set identities, of course, and i encourage other interpretations! i'm also specifically using the terms masculine and feminine in terms of preference / identity so as to not be exclusive to people who fit in binary identities - as a nonbinary/genderqueer (as well as bi ace) person, i understand that language surrounding attraction and gender can be fucky sometimes but please know that not feeling as though you fit into my descriptions here does not mean you cannot read or enjoy my content - i always try to stick to gender neutral readers unless specified otherwise, so that everyone feels included or represented! that said, here goes!

glamrock freddy in my interpretation is bi, with little to no preference of the gender of his partner! he uses he/him, but that's as far as he's considered gender identity. he's naturally attracted to people who are kind or who seem to genuinely care, and while his more diplomatic personality can be a good level for more impulsive or hot-headed people, he generally tends to shy away from people who are outright argumentative - our boy does NOT like unnecessary confrontation for the sake of it. (this does not mean he will not stand up for what he believes in, just that he does not like when people want to argue for no reason.)

montgomery gator is imo unlabelled but multi-spectrum, with a preference for masculine partners (although he is by no means only into masculine / male people!) he also uses he/him, and while i haven't thought too hard about his gender i don't really see him as cis, so take that as you will! unlike freddy, he does enjoy confrontational people and he tends to not be as comfortable around people who he thinks are just agreeable to avoid arguments. he wants someone he can be himself around, and he is quite hot-headed.

roxanne wolf i personally headcanon as a lesbian because - yeah, i just can't imagine her as anything else, and nobody else i've talked to really can either! she has attraction to girls of any kind, and any nonbinary folk who would include themselves in that pool of attraction! she's possibly the most enigmatic out of the main band with her preferences, but she likes people who don't immediately brush her off as self-centred or self-absorbed - there's so much more to her, and anyone who actually takes the time to get to know her will see her warming up to them a lot quicker than she would admit.

sun and moon, in my personal headcanon, both use they/them and he/him pronouns individually - there is not a cisgender bone in their body! neither of them really have a label on their attraction (or have really thought about it too hard), but they do have slightly different preferences for a partner! sun is, lovingly, a lot to take in sometimes, so his ideal partner is someone who either matches that energy or mellows it out - in general, people who are very negative to others repel their sunny attitude, but that doesn't mean they don't understand someone can have a bad day! for moon, he's a bit of a Menace and hasn't quite gotten past the "he likes you so he's mean to you" stage. granted, he's never cruel, but he finds themself fixated on people who can either handle his weird ways of expressing love, or who they just find plain cute!

djmm is, well... he's the dj!!! generally going by he/him or it/its pronouns, the dj doesn't really consider himself that aligned to romantic or sexual attraction! on the aro-ace spectrum, probably being under demisexual and demiromantic labels! for that reason, it's hard to pin down what he's interested in in a partner - it tends to vary from person to person!

you didn't ask, but vanny/vanessa? very heavy feminine preferences - she is for the girls first and foremost. for the guys? maybe, she hasn't figured it out yet! uses she/her, but like monty i also don't think she's exactly cis, so interpret that however you want! she's kind of also a menace who likes people she fins entertaining, but unlike moon she actually knows how to process her attraction into flirting!
