devotional journal tips!

they can be great for having no altar space or supplies! here are some ideas of what to put in it to get you started

prayers -

this is good for those who don’t feel safe speaking their prayers out loud. it can be meaningful to keep a written log of all your prayers instead of keeping them in your head. some day you may be able to look back at all the prayers your deity has answered, or at all the ways your prayers have evolved. if you want to memorize a prayer you can write it in the journal to repeat later!

aid + questions -

are there times in your day that you felt like you received your deities’ aid? or, are there times where you wished you’d received help and felt like you hadn’t? will you need aid in the future? similarly, do you have any little questions? write down the question or request, and then what symbols or signs you’ll be looking for as an answer. this can help you keep track of what certain signs mean and what questions you’ve asked/requests for aid you’ve done in the past that have been answered.

symbols -

have you noticed any symbols of your deity in your day that made you think of them? what did seeing that symbol make you feel like your deity was trying to communicate? this relates heavily to the section above. this can include historical symbols or signs that you’ve personally learned to associate with your deity!

offerings -

it might be helpful to record your offerings, past present & future! perhaps journaling IS the offer? if you want to offer your deity writing, do it here! out down your poems, short blurbs, brainstorming, doodles, etc. and dedicate it to your god!

drawings -

as mentioned a couple times above, if you like to draw, feel free to! you can draw the symbols you’ve seen, images of your god, and offerings you’ve given or plan to give, or just whatever comes to mind. the art you create for your deity is personal and yours to make!

divination -

jot down the results of any divination with your god specifically! if you do tarot, what cards did you pull, and what did they mean to you? what answers did your dice, smoke, or pendulum give you? it can be fun to look back after time has passed :))

i would recommend having a journal per deity for organizational purposes but also i’m not a cop! your relationship with your gods is yours alone, develop it as you see fit

I'm trying something a little different with my art , as in I'm trying to include more colors to make it pop more if that makes sense :')

Also I added stars around Lady Selene's crescent moon because she's often described as being surrounded by stars , as if they dance around her in a way .

☼ Introduction Post ☼

☼ Welcome in! This blog was made to keep track of my journey and progress as I discover myself through this faith. I’m still attached to my previous religion. I consider myself to be a casual, laidback christopagan (subject to change as I am not that big on many labels).

☼ On the same note, this blog will be a devotional altar to the deities i worship. the posts i make regarding Them, the digital offerings, and any guidance i’m able to share will be done in Their names ♡

☼ I’ll be sharing many of my experiences and the things I’ll be learning throughout the journey. This includes both the good and the bad. I tend to ramble about my thoughts concerning certain topics/situations I’ve been in.

☼ I currently worship Lord Apollo, Lord Hermes, Lord Thanatos, Lady Hestia, and Lord Hypnos. I might consider reaching out to directly worship other deities when i have the mental capacity to do so.

The mini altars are proving to be a very convenient way to have my altars with me while away!

The place we were staying at had these interesting bedside shelves that fit everything perfectly!

I wear the same pieces of jewelry every day (one necklace, five bracelets, eight rings) and sometimes add some on to heighten my outfit but because I wear so much to be comfortable (free fidgets!!) most of them I associate with my deities. an eye of horus amulet for Sekhmet, a moon phases ring for Selene, rose quartz bracelet for Aphrodite, pentagram ring for Freyja, goldstone bracelet for Apollo, and then some. that way I have them close with me every time I go out <3

I thought I'd show you all a sort of logo / icon I made of Lady Selene :3

It was originally made as a profile picture for a Selene e-temple & discord server I was in , but after both got deleted , I thought it'd be a shame to not show it since I really like it .

I made several versions but I've settled on this one which I think looks the best !

Even though the server & the e-temple got deleted it was such an honor to have my icon be used as a profile picture and I still hold it very dear to my heart , especially because all the people there were so kind. Anyway, I hope you like it <3

Can anyone who knows a lot about Selene or is close with Her help a girl out?

I need help figuring out what Selene is commonly associated with, if anything? I couldn't find anything helpful on google(granted, I just did a quick search but I digress.)

To give some context, I did a tarot reading asking about something money related, and more particularly luck related. And strangely, all three cards that I pulled had the exact same moon symbolism(and the final card I pulled was literally The Moon. I know that isn't usually taken literally but, i mean.... come on...) I figured this meant that maybe I should try asking one of the Theoi for help, specifically someone associated with the moon, and my first thought was Selene. But that struck me as odd, since I don't really think of the moon, and specifically Selene, as something related to money or luck. I always try to just go with my gut with readings, but this just doesn't make much sense to me.

Having my graduation party today and the moon came out while it was still daytime. I like to think that was Selene saying congratulations on graduating.

Got to have a nice bonfire with my family which just felt like Hestia if that makes sense
