if i was edwin payne and a giant inter-dimensional ghost-eating mushroom was about to consume me and my bff of 30+ years on the same day i went out of my way to dress up nice because i literally just figured out i was deeply and completely in love with him and despite my 100+ years of edwardian-era repression i already decided i needed to share this information with him as soon as possible because we are indeed that close, and said best friend/love of my life decided to take his hand off the branch/root thing we were clinging to trying not to get swallowed just so he could put his hand over mine for comfort in what even the evil witch attempting to obliterate us felt the need to comment on for being a sweet final moment, i would simply pass away. again.

It's not that the Black Rose arc was a bad idea, it was just poorly integrated into the story. I think things would have worked out better if Mel stayed in Piltover and the show played into the fact Piltover is anti-magic and are thus wary of mages.

Tombs of Atuan is such an insane novel (yassss gurl lead that thirsty old man to the spring hidden in your secret holy cave :3) and I mean this 100% seriously: it's only good because it's a Jungian nightmare (complimentary). The fundamental problem of writing a novel containing some kind of untouchable magic secret at its heart is that story demands the secret be revealed at some point, but revealing the secret immediately makes it loose whatever lustre it possessed. Le Guin introduces a secret beyond the secret that remains by necessity of the target audience textually unspoken throughout. It is so omnipresent the actual magical mystery becomes irrelevant to maintaining the narrative tension and is so tantalizing the reduction of the actual - I forgot what type of jewellery needs stealing, proving my point - magic McGuffin to, well, a McGuffin, is barely noticeable. Despite the metaphor being so present in the text the plot never stops making sense, and between it and the unspeakableness of the subject in the readers' and writer's mind both, the latter half takes on this lucid dreamscape-like movement. It's the narrative equivalent of tasting that one perfect bite of a deliciously umami morsel. One could say it lingers on the tongue like - (I am forcible removed from speaking further at the children's book conference)

Y'know - Tala lol #It's been established for a while that Tala really likes Webkinz and seeing another seven whole Webkinz that are Not For Her #Oh kid brain lol #The things I'm most envious of are the Magic Ws honestly lol - two of smol's ended up with Pink Ws where all the rest are Yellows #As a bit of backstory - Webkinz production went through several passes including not having Any embroidered Magic Ws #Those being the oldest - the second oldests are the Pink Ws which start with a pink stripe from left to right #And then the final design is the Yellow which ended up being the standard going forward #They're very common for that reason! And harder to pin down an exact production time period #So seeing two Pink Ws that are not for me was hard lol - I still get to pat them if I want to! thanks! doing this idly has been teaching me a Lot about choreographing fight scenes in a comic, which hopefully i won't have to do something serious with any time soon haha. and what it's turned out for this AU is a bunch of people who are really desperate to never be hurt again get locked in an arms race to find a way to hurt other people that won't come around and get them eventually, which does justify the magic i think, but also it does push for the magic to also be completely brutal and the visual behavior of spirits and souls to be the same as, if not worse, than the regular body. tldr all the shit marik pulls in canon (especially the scarab hourglass) owns hard and i want in and also for it to be worse and more direct. i'm glad this has wider appeal than to just me lol. cheers!

I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).

It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!

Also yes, I did write Exeunt 😳I'm very very honoured that you enjoyed my work so much and I'm even more grateful that it could let you see the Apollo in everything 💖 Thank you for reading it!!

One day I'm literally gonna snap and make a whole post addressing why what's wrong bc I'm tired of the inaccuracy and tired of ppl not understanding the Point TM of IDW and its version of the Matrix/Primacy and even more tired of people putting down Optimus in favor of Rodimus by essentially arguing that being unworthy means you deserve to be punished/put in pain bc you just weren't good enough to hold the Symbol of Ultimate Authority
