With spring right around the corner, Julien found themselves frequenting the pier more often. The Michigan winter was more brutal than they anticipated as they were used to a much warmer climate. They take the liberty of grabbing a coffee from Amber Waves of Grain and stealing a book from work to relax by the water (they’d return it in the morning). It was nice to have a moment to themselves. They peer out, looking beyond the horizon as a seagull flies overhead and something drops onto right in the middle of their face. "Oh my god! What the shit!”

“Can I ask ya somethin’?” A rhetorical question. Pen had bided her time, sneaking furtive looks out of her fiery red peripheral and meandering down the aisle, flicking through a many row of records with Paw Patrol bandaged fingers, inching ever closer and closer until finally... she'd entered the space beside them. The smile on her face was small, but earnest; playful, too. “Which one d’ya think’ll best help me wash down a Mountain Dew Marg’ tonight?” Then, as if that inquiry alone weren’t testament enough to her sublime taste, she held up two records: Blackout by Britney Spears and Raise! by Earth, Wind & Fire. “Classics. I mean, how am I supposed t’pick, right?”
