Cottage Living Hairs in the Academia Palettes!

FINALLY they are complete!

All hairs are texture referenced to keep file size down.

Note: I did not recolor the hairs that have the hats. My brain just wasn't up to fighting with the fiddly cut out bits. I might come back to them once I've recovered from the mass tex reffing I just did :P

Introducing the Academia Palette Gradients! 

After many hours and wanting to tear out my hair they are complete!

What are gradients? Why should you use them in recoloring? Can they be used in GIMP? (yes, they can!) 

All is answered below!

Thank you soooo much @tainoodles​​ without you I wouldn’t have been able to complete this! And wouldn’t even know that recoloring with gradients was a thing! XD

Q: What are gradients?

A: Gradients are a gradual transition between two or more colors

Q. Why use them in recoloring?

A: Short Answer: Compare these two images:

A: Long Answer: Gradients create deeper shadows and highlights while maintaining color accuracy and quality. There will always be some degradation during the recolor process but compared to the original actions it’s much better!

Also, they are super easy to use and adjust!

Based off of my dearest Mad Scientist, Maya Eden, comes a new palette of dusty pastels and muted shades!

The Scientist is a new 28-shade palette designed to work with Historian. Don’t worry, Historian and Historian recolors are not going anywhere! Being a smidgen more vibrant than Historian, The Scientist is a great bridge between the original palette and more saturated palettes such as Sorbet Remix and Puppy Crow.

Below the cut you will find:

Photoshop Actions (.atn)

Photoshop Swatches (.aco)

Sims 4 Studio Palettes (one for Hair and one for everything else)

Images with Swatch Names and Hex Codes and one you can use for previews

Thank you to everyone in the Historian and DBD Discords that gave input and suggestions as this palette was created! Thank you especially @cats-n-witchcraft, @simblrinterests, @indigoelfinspirit for testing this palette in game!

The Historian Discord has already been hard at work getting some recolors ready for release! Keep an eye here and @historiansims​ if you’re interested in grabbing these new colors for your game!
