Soon enough, Yoo Jaeyi will meet her dearest again. By then she’d bear a completely different name. Or maybe it’ll be Seulgi to go lengths this time, perhaps she’d travel hours away for the one she’d been missing the most. Oh, it wouldn’t be so bad to include her newfound mother, too! It’ll be most beneficial to just move out instead of having a psychopathic Taejun on his funeral attire showing up at their complex on a daily basis, after all!

Stepmother would take Yoo Jaeyi in (by force if need be) to their new home, just so it’d be more smooth for Jaeyi to live under a new identity. Only for her to eventually realize that “What, you’re not bestfriends?! Goodness, and when I thought you two would have to adjust your companionship from classmates to siblings.” She’ll have a hard time accepting it, perhaps, but eventually she’ll realize that part of motherhood is coming to terms with her child’s headache-inducing wants that are beyond her control. How could she toss Seulgi (and by extension, Jaeyi) just because of a measly thing like that, when she had wished for a dear child like Seulgi all her life?

Seulgi would be able to pursue medicine someplace, Korea University or not, and would end up working as a community doctor at their rural residence. Jaeyi, however, would rather not go back to the shackles of formal education. She doesn’t need it to prove how confident she is of her intelligence. Instead she’d accompany Seulgi in their tiny clinic. She might seem like a hooligan freeloader housewife during the day, but as soon as Seulgi’s clinic closes, she’d be the one to liquidate their profit and do the inventory. Her princess works so hard being the only clinic in town, so Jaeyi has to ensure she gets the needed nourishment, sleep included. Oh what an annoying health freak, Seulgi sometimes quips. Not that she came blame her girl, though. Seulgi maintaining a healthy lifestyle will soothe her anxiety of seeing her death. Because, as they all know (yes, including the stepmother), Jaeyi would be as good as dead if that day comes.

By daybreak, Jaeyi would be the first one to get up, not bothering her princess at all (unless Seulgi begged her so). She’d go down at the marketplace miles away from them to restock the clinic’s supplies, so Seulgi would have no worries other than her patients during work hours (as if Jaeyi doesn’t help her treat the patients?! Just admit that you just want to spoil your princess and go, you freak.)

What a life, indeed. Jaeyi doesn’t have the world on the tip of her fingers anymore, but isn’t she living the best life her highschool self would’ve never imagined—a life with Seulgi, her dearest, her family, and her one and only princess.

Synopsis:

Dan Bi, a senior in high school who gave up on mathematics, runs away to the Joseon era on the day of the SAT. Once there she is mistaken for a goblin and then a eunuch where she finds her knowledge in the modern world make her a genius in the Joseon period. She is placed in service to the King who is passionate about mathematics, and science. While she teaches the King what she knows, she learns about herself along the way.

I'll give it a 4/5. It was really well written without any loose ends, you get the feels without being emotionally wrecked, it makes you laugh, and you can just enjoy a really good story with likeable characters. This would be a great one for people who have never watched a K-Drama before.
