Most "Silver is Shadow's son" concepts are either Silver is Shadow's biological son or Shadow adopts a young Silver.

I propose a third option:

Shadow finds a young injured Silver and takes him to what's left of a hospital. He needs a blood transfusion but there's none left, none of the patients are well enough to donate blood, and the doctors can't either because they need to take care of the patients or just aren't the right blood type.

Shadow offers his blood hoping that his original purpose as a cure-all will actually work here. It works and Silver survives but develops telekinesis and (limited) telepathy from the Black Arm's component of Shadow's blood (Black Doom had both telepathy and telekinesis), as well as an enhanced ability to use chaos energy (being able to perform the double chaos control with Shadow to time travel later).

Shadow takes Silver in because he now feels responsible for him and has to make sure he can control his powers.

Silver is based on Trunks from Dragon Ball Z but the difference is that Trunks is polite, shy and cautious while Silver is brash, blunt and reckless

Silver is goal focused and straight to the point like Trunks though

Trunks and Silver are both naive and have an impulsive streak but those are stronger for Silver because Silver is more hotblooded and emotionally unregulated which is why they say he’s rash. Silver is naive in different ways because he’s from the far future
