I actually ended up in in the DPxDC fandom (and extension now, also the DC fandom) because a friend got me into Danny phantom.

Fun fact. Your posts were actually the first DPxDC content i encountered (one of the first few I encountered was you and your twin talking about your chemistry teacher). So I want to thank you for helping me discover this community.

Also my favourite DC characters are Alfred pennyworth and John Constantine.

Alfred is sassy, sarcastic and he absolutely makes the best cookies you can't convince me otherwise.

And Constantine is sassy and sarcastic and also just a very fun character overall.

There's just something so intriguing about characters who try to push everyone else away (especially out of fear of hurting them), but at the same time are so desperately in need of the love and affection they deny themselves.

John is in desperate need of someone who will warmly embrace him and tell him that it's ok, that he's done enough, that he deserves happiness. But he's too broken of a man to let anyone get close enough to him for long enough for that to happen, instead opting to push everyone away as soon as possible.

As you can see, I like Alfred and Constantine for very different reasons XD.

Which means: more questions.

How do Rowan and Nate usually deal with fights? Have they ever had an extreme fight where they got so emotional they needed a long amount of time apart?

Fights normally don't go too well for them- Nate is avoidant on communicating when he's mad and Rowan gets very emotional. He hates conflict so badly to the point that he just wants to agree with Nate to get it over with- but he knows that that's bad practice. He can't just be a yes-man to Nate all the time and he can't let Nate dictate their relationship.

With fights they either immediately nip it in the bud and try to get to the problem, or most likely they need to spend time apart and collect their thoughts before trying to work stuff out. The problem most of the time with the first tactic is the fact that Nate is quick to get emotional and quick to defend himself when he doesn't need to. It's easy for him to forget that he and Rowan are on the same team in a fight, not opponents. It's easy for him to forget the real opponent is their problem and how to get over it.

So, the way they've gotten around this is by pausing their fight in a way! Their steps are 1: space to cool off, 2: reassurance, and 3: tackle the problem with a clearer mind.

They pause it so they can give reassurance to the other, remind them that they still care and love each other and they both want things to work out (Rowan started doing this, but Nate does it as well because he realized Ro needed it). Then after that they try to express themselves properly and have a discussion rather than an argument! These two aren't immune to arguing or fighting, but they always try to move past it.

Also, I do think they have had an extreme fight before! It's not insane to think of. It's not common, especially since them seriously fighting isn't very common, but it has happened. Neither of them were willing to budge on a topic or see the other person's side, so they both ended up fuming and needing time apart. It probably ended with one of them storming off or leaving abruptly.

I think they did need serious time apart, and lowkey everyone close to them knew they had a fight.... Rowan's ALWAYS going up to Nate at school. It was almost jarring to not see them talking to each other or at least saying hi! Missy thought they broke up 😭

The bigger problem was the fact they were both *miserable* during their time apart. Like I said in a previous ask they DO spend time apart, but like this? This sucked. Neither of them wanted this. They needed time to get over the fight and to no longer be mad at each other, but not spending time together like they usually do threw them offfff. During the time they weren't talking Nate was a lot more emotional and reactive, yelling at people extra, and Rowan was a lot less happy and very down. Yet, neither of them knew how to approach the other and apologize for the fight. They both needed support from their friends and a light push in the right direction to get to talking (and Rowan needed a lot of "he doesn't hate you have you seen the way he looks at you" "he's miserable without you why would he not want you around").

They got over the fight, which made both of them VERY happy, and they both apologized for what happened. No matter who was in the "right" or "wrong" they were both happy to be around each other again, and they had a VERY long hug that both of them needed afterwards. Nate even let Rowan hold his hand :D

You should be grateful, to be a part of us. Just as that measly little toy you've grown close to should be grateful for the chance she's been given. It is not our fault you grew attached. We warned you and everyone else against such things. There is no point in getting attached to characters. They are nothing but toys to the creators. Toys to play with, break, and throw away. Darkners even more so.
