don't know if you saw it, but there was a HEAVY theory that mother miranda was jill, when the first or second trailer for re village came out (it's rlly funny to look back now). it would explain why chris was so obsessed with this village, and also, that claire, moira (barry's daughter) and some random girl were the dimitrescu daughters bc of the low ass quality of the trailers

I didn’t see it, even after I bought re8 I hadn’t seen no trailers, no gameplay, theories, literally nothing, I went in not knowing what to expect. That theory of Miranda being Jill? I would’ve loved to hear what bs Capcom pulled out of their ass to make that make sense. But unfortunately Jill hasn’t been respected at all during her RE time so idk. And Chris and Jill being together? First of all, Jill’s a lesbian she told me herself after she kissed me and second, ew💀 Chris and Jill remind me of Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler from Law and Order aka people who should never be together

1. I just kinda figure Aura for an antisocial shut-in at work, who even Clay gives a bit of a wide berth to. He knew her before Metis’ murder, sure, and had to see the drastic change in her personality and wonder what happened, but she’s a jerk and I imagine her purposely shoving away the people who knew her before so he just takes up avoiding her.

....which makes me wonder what Clay thought happened to Metis, whether he knew or not that she was murdered, or just was told she died and wasn’t given details, or—

There is just no good way to deal with the details of this space center plot actually.

2. I kind of figured that Apollo didn’t actually really know Aura, and just showed up at the Center looking for anyone who was willing to talk to him and help him figure this out, and Aura saw the chance.

3. And then I just assume even if Clay mentioned his coworker the bitter exhausted robotics lesbian, Aura, he never dropped her last name. Which is like....I’m stretching, but also when I’ve talked to my friends about wherever I’m working, I often don’t use names and especially not last names. Which again is stretching some considering that Apollo went to the Center with Clay as well, and knew some of these people somewhat personally, but......

4. And also assume that if Apollo ranted to Clay about the nasty samurai prosecutor, also never has once used his name. Which is even more.......

- favorite thing about them: i relate to her a lot, surprisingly. she portrays a lot of traits i think are negative when applied to me, but with her, she just comes off as strong. i also like the fact that just because she breaks down once at the end of justice for all, she doesn't become softer and the total opposite of herself. her purpose just changed, and she's a little gentler, sure, but she's still herself. she's very strong-willed, a character trait i love in characters.

- least favorite thing about them: the one major qualm i have with her character is how she whipped phoenix unconscious after the first trial with her and like??? nobody addressed that?? she also snuck a tracking device onto gumshoe and that definitely feels Not Good

- ship(s): major one is franmaya! i also like kayziska, that's good. i hc franziska as a lesbian so :)

- BROTP(s): franziska and edgeworth (they have an already established brother/sister relationship anf i fucking LOVE that shit) give me more sibling interaction capcom...... im dying out here.... and shi-long lang and franziska (he calls fran sis in the english translations and he gets away with it so they have some sort of respect for each other and i can just run w that. either that or shi-long lang just doesn't fear death which is equally plausible)

- NOTP(s): franziska/edgeworth is GROSS get off my fucking page they are SIBLINGS. also franziska is a lesbian

- Game/case where I like them more: both farewell my turnabout and turnabout reminiscence are really good franziska cases!! farewell my turnabout has the Iconiqué franziska busting down the courtroom door scene and that's some fuckin good shit..... and the fact that she was willing to face phoenix in court while suffering a bullet wound was so fucking badass i love her so much. and turnabout reminiscence gives us that Good Good younger franziska interaction + sibling banter literally what more could you ask for in a case

- Random headcanon: franziska like?? really loves kids?? she has a soft spot for little girls like trucy and pearl and spoils them to death bc she was never allowed to just Be A Kid when she was younger so she will do anything in her power to let children enjoy themselves without unnecessary restrictions, cause that's always what she wanted to do. she was visibly hurt when pearl told her off in bridge to the turnabout bc she was trying her best to reassure her but. uh. obviously it didn't work. i could see her warming up to and getting along with trucy, the physical representation of sunshine. basically i love doting aunt franzy and i will die on this hill

- Unpopular opinion: i don't have much problems with the whip thing?? i used to but then i realized prosecutors are basically crazy anyways (re: godot and his coffee throwing habit; at least a whip won't leave a mess on the floor and shards of ceramic to boot) and i think the whip is a more literal representation of her tendency to lash out when annoyed or angered

ANYTIME, MY FRIEND, ANYTIME…. thank you for sending me this bc i have a lot of Thoughts about how they met and fell in love but never knew when to post them?? putting this under a readmore because it got very long (i put the first half of it in bullets so it’s easier on the eyes) ~>

they met in college in tokyo, where aura was studying robotics and metis was studying abroad – maybe as a research assistant or TA for one of aura’s mentors?? smth like that

anyway they bonded quickly over the fact that they both had english-speaking family in europe, because what are the odds, right?, and it very quickly turned into the kind of friendship where they could talk to each other about *anything*

metis was always very quiet and emotionally guarded, but she was still a wonderful listener – every once in a while when they’d hang out at their favorite café on campus, metis would offer up a thought or memory of her own & follow it up with “you know, you’re the only person i’ve ever told about that?” and it would make aura’s heart beat so so so fast

sooo aura fell for metis very hard, very quickly ((because that is what we lesbians often do. i can confirm)) but she fought it/tried to suppress it for a long time, because uh. well. she was extremely disappointed to find out that metis had recently gotten married to athena’s father, and that they were going to try to start a family once metis returned to the states

metis talked to aura about her husband sometimes and aura hated that she couldn’t even dislike this guy because he actually seemed very nice. aura frequently complained about the husband over the phone to teenage simon anyway because how dare he

they stayed in touch over the phone/email after metis moved back to california, discussing their projects and plans and families and whatnot

athena’s father got sick and passed away shortly after athena was born. metis grew even more distant and guarded after that, and it scared aura a lot – partly because she was worried for metis’ health, as a grieving single mother, but also because she (maybe selfishly) didn’t want to lost the metis she knew & never really got over her romantic feelings for

so it was a DREAM COME TRUE a couple years later when metis called aura out of the blue and said “hey, i was thinking about artificial emotional intelligence and came up with a project you might be interested in”

actually several of aura’s dreams came true that day lmao

aaand that more-or-less brings us up to the Space Center Family timeline ((simon joins them after he’s graduated, when athena is 8 or 9; aura introduces him to metis bc of the psychology thing and that’s how that mentorship gets started))

their relationship is a Very Slow Burn that’s made even slower by three things: 1) they haven’t seen each other in person in a few years, so they’ve got to get used to each other again; 2) there’s a little kid (and later, a little brother) running around, taking their attention away from each other; and 3) metis is burdened with the question of whether or not she really wants to move on to a new relationship after the loss of her husband, who she thought she’d be spending the rest of her life with

eventually of course she decides she’s okay with it and that she really, really does want to be with aura, but navigating the guilt & nostalgia is difficult and takes a lot of time. aura understands that, and she only wants metis to be with her when she’s ready, but aura is also unfortunately plagued with the hereditary Blackquill Family Attitude Problem™ so she is very romantically frustrated 10,000% of the time and poor simon gets an earful of it pretty much every night after metis and athena have gone to bed. i mean aura never tries to pressure metis into anything!! don’t get me wrong there i just mean aura keeps waiting for metis to make Moves and she almost never does and it makes aura want to scream daily/gayly. (here’s a drabble i wrote a couple years ago about one such instance, since it’s relevant to the topic at hand…….)

sorry anon i know this got kinda bittersweet here at the end but!!! i love these two and i think their relationship has a lot of complexity to it once you fill in the blanks that were left in the actual dual destinies script. anyway now they’re both alive and stable and married and happy and athena loves her gay moms. that’s not a headcanon that’s just straight up canon. i work for capcom so i know.
