         it was an apology, or at least something close to it; and yara takes it for what it is, trying not to wince as her laughter causes her to shift somewhat. “ i mean, i probably would’ve dropped you too, if the roles were reversed. so i guess we can call it even? ” except that wasn’t true, either — she preferred older bass amps, ones that were hefty enough to make grown men cry, and yara could lift them with ease after years of touring. lying isn’t typically something she’s comfortable with, not even half-truths ( that was always lira’s thing ) , but she liked worrying people even less. she could only hope her little lie was passable, perceptive as the other girl may seem. she takes the proffered hand with a smile that’s colored with relief, quickly being dashed by the pain that’s shooting up her ankle — and she turns her face away, doing her best to hide the shift in expression, but something tells her she wasn’t quite successful. “ i’m lucky? shouldn’t you be the lucky one? just bat those pretty eyes and you’ll get away with anything, easy. ” she laughs, a little breathless, trying not to lean too much of her weight on the other girl even as an arm is draped across her shoulders for support. it’s slow going, working their way out of the mass of bodies — but the humor helps, and she finds herself smiling in spite of it all. “ i was gonna say you look more like gymnast barbie, but you did just drop me, so i’m guessing that’s a no. ” she jests, if only to keep the bit going. it’s a relief when they finally make it out of the venue, surrounded by the cool night air instead of — what did the blonde say? — spilled regret. yara leans against the side of the building, then, pretense be damned. “ sorry, just. need to catch my breath. ” she explains, looking around as she speaks. “ d’you think there’s a convenience store around here? i mean, they should have ice, right? or a slushy, at least. ”
