got some more tiny paper to try out, so I painted a tiny Max F whilst catching up on his stream from the other day

A. Gallo watercolours + coloured pencil on Jacksons Two Rivers 300gsm paper, approx. 3.5" square

#he didn't turn out entirely how I'd planned but it was good practice #max fewtrell #max f #watercolour #quadrant #my art #my f1 art #adjacent anyway #the paper is 100% cotton of course but INCREDIBLY heavy sized #(ie a lot of like the binder that helps the paper resist turning into mush)#so it's weirdly resistant to water but can also handle a Lot #v fun experience #will not be buying full sheets though bc they're incredibly expensive #and a pack of three different weights of this size is 50p

#library of ruina #netzach #netzach lor #yesod #yesod lor #intimacy. i suppose romantic? what ever is wanted. regardless of what the affection could be categorized as its still affection #mister viper. looked briefly into it so i dont know the particulars but it seems that venomous snakes dont really curl around their prey #considering the toxins would immobilize with out a need to go ahead and hold them down. not to say that they Dont curl but constriction is #more typically thought of as pythons or boas. mister boa. hehehe.#netz is typically just happy to be in the presence of or around those he likes. see carmen for example. so physical grounded touch to affirm #the fact of proximity and. i guess realness? would be nice i think. ability to wait and still stay by the side i guess. he has a thing with #expecting or thinking things to leave. not as much anymore and being more brave or fearless inspite of that preconceived notion but still #i cant quite articulate it the way i want it but its the general idea resigned acceptance now turning to budding change yet still there #which is why it can be scary. or had seemed pointless to go ahead and fight against an inevitable. so just a kind of physical reassurance #and patience and staying is nice. for yesod its to where i wanted him to typically be drawn w his arms on the outside isntead of boxed in?#a thing w restriction. if youre hugged and your arms are on the inside you lose that mobility and ability to move. feels like it would be a #comfort thing to just be able to have the arms in a position that can move even if logically it is alright and a safe environment #i wanted netzs hold to be there and present still but kind of lazy? dual nature of have it more limp or lax bc its netz but also bc it would #have it to where it wouldnt be confining. but still embracing. sort of thing #also w the sheets. based a little off my own experiences? remind of it. when overstimulated or just in HELL mentally sheets and blankets #feel like they tangle and bind and serve to distress than anything positive. so yk. duality of man. weighted blanket to be encased in a #cacoon or no sheets at all to be free and able to move. but yeah. main idea. also then realized that id have to draw more bc of that #[cent miscellaneous]#there was more but they were Too Sketchy... tis okay. suprised i was able to get anything done rn in the first place even if small #... i never thought abt it i guess these are kinda requests. i mean thats chill and fun but like. huh

Anyways… Here’s me practicing with the body types I wanna make my ocs and some poses I practiced on. It’s gonna take a while, but my goal is to at least draw these two constantly with these body types which means… updating character sheets…

Sorry for going a bit silent on this blog, I've been bouncing from one project to another. On the bright side, now that I've gotten this piece done, I should be updating soon!

I've wanted to re-do Dawn and Dusk's ref for a while now, along with altering their pallets. I have a much better grasp on colour matching now then when I started, and I think these ones fit them much better!

my gay son

#aka filet crochet that took me 9 months to complete #this is not new he has been in the closet for about four years. hes auite heavy as well so ive not worn him very often.#anyway to me he's not really a scarf he's just a big old rectangle to me #and the blocking on this is actually sooo bad bc as u may be able to tell that thing is gigantic and i ran out of black thread and the stor #where i bought it way on summer break so i bought black thread somewhere else and i thought it was the same yarn weight but it was ever so #slightly thicker so the last ~10 rows are really wavy. thats issue no 1 the second problem with the hugeness was that i just had nowhere i #could block it on so i mcgyvered a solution which was a wool blanket tucked over my sheets and i blocked it on there and i wore my #bathing suit to sit on it to block bc it didnt work any other way. and then come night time of course it was still wet (even tho i pointed #blowdryer at it for so long that the blowdryer switched off by itself due some child safety mechanism) and i had to take it off my bed so i #could sleep on it. so yes the blocking is a bit wonky #crochet #mine

baking never feels more like science to me than when i'm trying to cobble together an intricate multi step recipe together from several different recipes and tutorials online because the recipe I'm imagining doesn't exist....

#genuinely feels like a science experiment making something fancier than a frosted layer cake #have to do all kinds of volume and weight conversions because one recipe is japanese and the other is indian and the other is english lmfao #none of the recipes are probably the exact volume I need so i might have to make some minis with my extra stuff #i have to find a very precise sheet pan size tomorrow for the patterned cake i'm gonna use as the outer bit #otherwise i'll have to make my own from parchment paper??? or tin foil??? man idk.....#i had to write out all of my instructions and ingredient lists so i don't have to go between 6 different websites tomorrow/sat #i had to do research on fucking. gelatine 😭because it's impossible to find gelatine sheets here and they're used in EVERY mousse recipe #and there's apparently a huge debate on what the ACTUAL conversion of sheet gelatine to powdered gelatine is for baking #I also had to type up like an exact order to make each component because most need a significant amount of cooling time #grayson im gonna try my hardest to make you this fancy ass lemon cake and i pray i succeed this time where i failed on my own birthday #2 yrs ago but also i think this will go better bc i'm not doing a jelly insert or a candied mirror glaze #I'm also making my own candied lemons and lemon curd even though i don't have to #mostly because i wanna try doing it and the sheer power of getting to say i made the whole thing from scratch *#minus the actual cake mix because i don't have a good from scratch cake track record and box mixes are so so reliable #and i have too many moving parts to worry about finding a new cake recipe #every fucking cake recipe now is a fucking genoise sponge for SOME REASON #which is NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT AND A HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS BECAUSE IT USES NO RISING AGENTS #i want to throttle whoever it was that made online recipe people turn to only using variations of a genoise sponge for their cake recipes #honestly i need to maybe join the baking subreddit and ask for some good old baking/cookbooks with reliable baking recipes #ones that aren't crazy labor intensive for fucks sake i'm not a french patisserie #my stuff #it would be cool to one day have baked enough and have enough know how of how standard baking recipe components work #so i can just come up with my own recipes on my own #and just use whatever flavors i want #i feel like i would enjoy being a baker except if i had to make wedding cakes
