I’ve been able to try Shin Sen Gumi at the ramen yokocho festival, I really dug that. But I’ve never tried their shop. Honestly, what kept me away were the thin noodles. I never thought I’d like them. Last night’s dinner changed my mind on that. Soft and medium noodles were delicious in their own right but I’d love to try hard noodles next time. The broth is full and understated, unlike most LA shops. Each topping was flavorful with no frills. A scoop of spicy miso paste elevated my bowl. With a side of deliciously made takoyaki, I became a fan.
