I actually only added the profile picture to make it clear that the blog supports trans rights, but separate to that, I am also a trans(femme) Harry truther lol; actually, I specifically hc him as genderqueer/genderfluid and in deep denial about it. I've seen some good fic/art of transmasc Harry that I liked too, though.

I've always felt like posts which say "x character would say this" always require a little bit of simplifying of the character, or looking at the character more whimsically or less seriously than in the actual media. Or even the opposite, where you look at the character more seriously and angsty than in the actual media.

The only character that I feel has had accurate "he would say this" posts is Harry Du Bois from Disco Elysium.

ive started playing DE for the first time. give me a good pro gamer tip please! and dont be like "you need to figure it out on your own" i need that big brother looking over your shoulder as you play type knowlege. also i love your blog, youre why i felt i had to go download it in the first place

honestly my biggest tip is just "commit to the bit." it's a roleplaying game. get into character. you don't have to click what you personally would do, but you should have an idea of what your version of the character you're playing would do.

to that end:

don't save scum on your first playthrough even if it's super tempting; the game lets you keep unlimited saves so you can just go back and do it later.*

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. try red checks even if the chance of success is low.

the answer to "which skill do I put points in" is always either "whichever one you need right now" or "whichever one is your favorite."

do the things that seem like they would lead to the most fun/interesting results. you don't need to do every option available to you, whether that's tasks, dialogue choices, thoughts, etc.

don't be afraid to say or do weird shit.

*there are a couple spots where it's unfortunately possible to softlock the game so if you're super stuck it's ok to look at a walkthrough. there aren't that many of these, though. usually if you're stuck the best strategy is to just go do something unrelated and see if it gives you a lead on how to continue.

if we are strictly talking about HDB or MB, exactly never. idk about the later games, that's anybody's guess 💀

however, he DID threaten yui (how shall we put this delicately?) that he will in HDB Ecstasy 05. he never went through with it after smelling blood, namely her back bleeding from glass shards from a photo frame he smashed up

I know, it's million times messed up but we are not here for sane shit, are we lul. AGAIN, I AM NOT JUSTIFYING ANY OF THIS however, developmentally, it was such a key turning point. he is tormented by his mother's prophecies of him being indistinguishable from his rapist father. he cannot stand the fact that yui--even witnessing the destruction he wrought in her room--unabashedly does not accept this narrative that made up and defined him his whole life. despite her anger and sadness, she still wants to understand his reason why. astonished, he doesn't understand why she won't act out on her anger. in fact, he says at one point: "Hate me… Detest me… You should hate me" the key statement to look at is when he says, "Look at me. Look at me properly. Don’t ignore me!" he thinks that she is openly and mockingly (he calls her words "lip-service") disregarding the monster he sees himself to be. it can be absolutely terrifying to imagine or comprehend that someone can actually care for you, it destabilizes your whole sense of self. so, he retaliated in the only way he thought would affirm the corrupt body that he sees himself as in his and yui's eyes--only to immediately back off when he realized he hurt her. he even quietly apologizes before leaving it showcased his potential to be more than what his life (up until that point) has forcibly constrained him to be. he can be gentle. he can love without hurting. he is what he makes himself to be
