Nova is the kind of fairy you always hear about in human tales, mischievous and cunning with a certain love for pranks and deception. Unfortunately he is also very clumsy so most of his pranks end up backfiring! Thankfully he can laugh it off, as his goofball nature allows him to deal with most situations in a fun and humorous way. Similarly, as a lovebug, he sees love in a not entirely serious light. He's honest and upfront about his feelings but takes rejection well and usually manages to spin it into a funny story to tell his fairy friends when they come visit him in his garden. His garden is his passion as he loves the outdoors, it's a place where spellcasters, werewolves and humans alike can gather plants both to use in potions and tinctures as well as for consumption. He expects no reward in return but anyone coming by has to expect him to suddenly appear in front of them or for him to pull the old "This costs money now" bait and switch. They always find the money back in their pockets once they leave. Nova grew up raised by a group of fairies, according to the "it takes a village" principle they all shared the burden and joys of raising little faelings. His fairy godmothers and godfathers loved each other freely and without boundaries and Nova thus feels the same about love, it's something to be given and shared freely. He is polyamorous and experiences no jealousy but he does only like male-framed sims. He chose to participate in this bachelor challenge because it sounded fun, plus he's not been the luckiest in dating himself (and thus can relate to Andrew in that) and too wishes to have his own connected group and perhaps even little faelings to raise with his mates! @cawthorntales I hope Andrew will like Nova, they look very different but they share common interests (and Nova should be attracted to him). The sim I chose is Purnima Kamini and here she is blowing a kiss to herself in the mirror 👍

Unusually for one of my sims she wasn't born as a randomly generated townie makeover she was purpose made as a partner for Sunisa when she moved to StrangerVille in 2021.

Before she lived in San Myshuno she shared a house with Sunisa in Oasis Springs where she called herself Robita and wore a robot costume the whole time and refused to explain why.

Her favourite food is pancakes.

She was dating an alien from Sixam, her alien girlfriend is currently on a lecture tour of her home planet after completing her field trip to PlanetSim and Purnima has forgot they ever met. I like to think they will rekindle their relationship one day though 😊

After she made the mistake of inviting him round one day Raj Rasoya has become her greatest enemy.

What it does

When an emotional trait like goofball or gloomy gives an occasional moodlet for its associated emotion, like 'Feeling Playful' or 'Feeling Sad', the moodlet will have a random strength, instead of always being +1.

Why would you want this?

Those occasional +1 moodlets from the emotional traits rarely do much, especially the negative ones. With this mod, even if you're not deliberately putting your sim into the emotion associated with their trait, there should be a better chance they'll accomplish it themselves sometimes.

The occasional moodlets from emotional traits and the insane trait will be a random strength each time they're received.

Recommended mods to go with this

Uncomfortable Overhaul Allowing discomfort to boost negative moods can also help smaller negative moodlets to have an effect.

No Happy Environment Moodlets With permanent happy moodlets around, it can still be hard for a negative mood to come to the surface. Disable happy moodlets from decorations for a better balance between positive and negative moods.

Emotional Inertia With emotional inertia, a negative emotional trait causing a negative mood will be a bigger deal, with more lasting consequences.

So, Ritalin makes me feel how neurotypical people must feel all the time. I'm so jealous. It's wearing off now but man in the time it was effective, my memory was better, I could start and end tasks easily and even multitask, I could focus, it made my brain "quiet" if that makes sense. The short acting one only works for about 4 hours but I got a ton of stuff done in that time, though I did prioritize my very dusty and messy flat so to see if it helps with building I'll have to wait until tomorrow 😂 But I don't react negatively to it and my posts should resume either tomorrow or the day after, depending on if I get to playing today! (You're all caught up)

My queue ran out and I did not have time to play because I had a medical situation yesterday (don't worry, I'm fine!) and then had to carry my heavy ass cat to the vet this morning. I love him and the vet said he's at a perfect weight for his size but the issue is that his size is "BIG LANKY BOY". Took me the entire morning to walk back and forth 😭 I'll see when I'll get to queue posts again, I think I'll put them down to 2 per day for now so I can take more time for actual gameplay and because I also really wanna catch up with everyone's posts.

Isopods! I just got new isopods, P. Bolivari Yellow Ghost and P. Expansus Orange and I am fawning over them so hard! I love these little not-really-bugs, they're genuinely both fascinating and just really chill dudes. I also have snails and of course my original colony of P. Pruinosus is still going strong.

Literally any other animal under the sun. I'm not joking, if it's an animal I'm interested in it. In particular of course aside from my crustaceans I adore my cat Merlin and like to teach him little tricks and such.

Photography. Isopods make lovely subjects because they're usually not very jittery but I also like taking pictures of flowers, cats, dogs and whatever else runs infront of my lens. Definitely focused on insects though!

Art of course! I found my home for that over on bluesky where many kidlit authors and illustrators that I aspire to be like one day live. One day I want to write and illustrate a children's book that explains mental illness to children in a sort of "Your mom/dad might not show it the way you see other parents show it but they still love you" kind of way because I really needed that as a child and there was nothing there for that.

Video games aside from sims. I have so many video games I love, a current favorite is Wingspan - I am terrible at it but the bird art makes up for that! Also Planet Coaster, Two Point Museum, Dorfromantik, Rival Stars Horse Racing, Stardew Valley… So many different games I love.

Two of my bolivari died. The heat, dry air and open top covers... I sprayed them twice a day and they are more arid species and yet they still lacked moisture. One died while molting. That's pretty much always a sign for lack of moisture. I made them homemade plastic covers to hopefully keep the moisture in for longer and will spray them even more but I'm just so sad right now. I know they're "Just" bugs, but they meant a ton to me 😭

I feel an OA flare coming on 😬 My joints are stiff and painful and I'm tired af. This is not the moment for it but I think I caused it myself - just because I can do lots of things in one morning without getting distracted or taking breaks doesn't mean that I should.

So, still not building on Ritalin because apparently it helps me make priorities, I've instead cleaned my flat, did some direly necessary self-care and worked on a character turnaround for an art project. Maybe tomorrow - but I will get to playing today at least!

Possible temporary break incoming because I'm gonna start on meds today/tomorrow. Not sure how they'd interact with my brain and if they will make me zoom focus on the sims or get my shit together and clean my flat. It's a 50/50 but if it's clean my flat... My queue is empty tomorrow and I probably won't have the flat cleaned until then 😅
