its getting close to inktober time again, and i have a question i've been meaning to ask for a long time- how do you go about colouring your inktober pieces? it's so nifty!!!

How do u usually go about painting sylvari? i never know how to add variety to the colours( i love your art and seeing all your work always inspires me to draw)

For sylvari i pretty much use the same process i use for everything else i think ? I have a process gif right here of a portrait of Seena i did that pretty much shows all my main steps

the very second step after the sketch for me is laying the main colours then laying the main shadows & only then i start to paint over

sometimes when i realize my base colour palette is lacking a bit i tend to add an overlay to add some variety but i like to block my colours during the first steps as its easier for me to paint over after

i always keep in mind the highlights i want (here, yellow & pink) so i build my palette around them as well and sometimes add them at the colours blockin step

thank you! I usually play the 5th with friends (or dungeon world in some cases) but that specific version of Abbïa was made for fun in a sorta universe i made up based on rules im used to

would still totally love to play them with other people for real if i ever get the occasion tho

I noticed that you included the different calendars for one of your sylvari’s birthdays (the cycle/hour they were born and the calendar we use). Did you make up the conversions yourself, or did you use a different reference? I’m really curious, as I like making up birthdays as well.

oh no i just determined a bday for our calendar as well, is all haha i tend to choose those based on either specific dates or seasons or even zodiac signs, it depends!
