Part 4 - Character Design References

Idk how people feel about this but I don't really like this description of Duke from Robin War. Firstly, Duke is not really 'the brains' of WAR - they get their orders from a disguised Alfred, and they don't really solve any puzzles (which would be Duke's specialty) so I don't even know what 'the brains' refers to here.

Secondly, I feel like this is the start of the 'Duke is WAR's leader' misconception that persists to this day. In the six issues leading up to Robin War, Duke gets recruited, Troy dies, WAR breaks up, Riko gets them back together, and they fight a Talon. Duke never does any leading; he spends the majority of the time arguing with Dre, flirting with Izzy, and snarking anyone under the sun. A huge part of his early character is that he's difficult to work with! Arguably Riko is the 'leader' of WAR if we have to pick one, but they're written more as equals who have a mysterious boss than as leader/followers.

The idea of even having a 'face' or 'leader' of WAR goes against the We, the notion of the collective; the point of WAR is they're all in it together, and none of them is 'more special' than the other because they all represent Gotham's youth. I know this is very nitpicky but it's important to WAR's message Duke is not the leader.

SONIC AND THE DRAGON'S PATH - The 4 Guardians reference

Hi there!

I'll just leave this little reference of the redesigns I made for Shadow, Knuckles and Silver as the Black Turtle, The Vermilion Bird and the White Tiger for the Dragon's Path contest!

These were fun to draw and we're the reference for the big piece I submitted. (I don't think I'll win but it was really fun!) Too bad that I never actually used the bottom of the designs at all.

Well... as a Bonus here ya have some details of them under the cut.

They were designed with the idea of the seasons, since each beast actually represents a Season on the original story, being Winter Summer Autumn in the order they are in the reference.

The oldest of them was the Black Turtle, Shadow, the following one was the Azure Dragon and both Knuckles and Silver are younger (Silver being the last)

When the Azure Dragon passed (The spring guardian), the Winter was uncontrollable due to Shadows pain. For that reason he is chained in the deeps of sea, reason why he wears shackles.

Knuckles also wears bracelets that limit his power since he needed to cover for the lost Spring when the dragon passed (due his need of control I designed him as a monk).

As for Silver, him being so young only made him getting wild and distant from the other two, causing him to be more aggressive and more like a beast.

im going fucking insane because i realized all of the contestants were unknowingly keeping each other in the false reality

if there had been just ONE contestant who wasn’t made by mephone, all it would've taken is an offhanded comment about their family, or a story about time before the show for the others to realise they don't have any memories like that. but! NONE of them do!! they cant bring up what they don't have, and if no one else talks about it they wouldn't even realize what they're missing!!!

the only thing that kept the charade going was both of them assumed it was just cabby’s memory.
