Any Hypnos headcannons if you could romance him? I love that sleepy boi, let him and Zag cuddle!

I got some Zagno headcanons! I haven’t thought much of this pairing, but I’ll give it a shot. :) 

Zagreus has wanted to see stars since he was little. Hypnos fulfilled his wish by creating his own powers and showcase them in the garden. Zagreus said that he doesn’t need to see the stars because he can see his biggest star everyday. :3 

Their first date? Zagreus and Hypnos went to Elysium because Hypnos wants to see Asterius in person. It ended up Zagreus fighting against Theseus and Asterius because Theseus is salty that Hypnos didn’t want to see the king of Elysium. xD

Hypnos is taller than Zagreus, which is fine for Zagreus. Because he can fit Hypnos’s coat and cuddle with him.

They both love playing board games. Zagreus tried to convince Thanatos and Megaera to play with him, but they didn’t have the time. Plus they didn’t understand why he would spend his time playing these mortal games. When Zagreus asked Hypnos if he wanted to play with him, Hypnos was ecstatic that someone wanted to play with him. As much as Thanatos loves his twin brother, he didn’t understand Hypnos’s interest with games. They share their love for rpgs and dnd.

Hypnos appreciates Zagreus for supporting him when Hypnos is by himself in the house. He wishes he can go beyond the Underworld, but unlike Nyx and Thanatos, he can’t leave. Zagreus appreciates Hypnos for getting over his fear of sleeping. He used to avoid sleeping because he felt that whenever he slept, his body confused it for death.

take some more chances. it’s ok to be embarrassing. stop hiding in your room and participate in more things. you’ll feel better for having done it, even if it’s not everything you wanted it to be. put yourself out there more and believe that there are people who will care about you.

nah but the library i work at supposedly is. my coworkers have stories but i’ve never noticed or sensed anything

moonlit - are you a neat or messy person? Is your room / house orderly?

I am generally very neat and i’m very anal about having Places to put things; my usual tactic is that i have to completely put away everything from whatever task i just finished before i can go onto the next task. i don’t always adhere to this, though.

still, i keep my room very neat and there’s rarely much clutter. i can kind of tell my mental health levels by how much i’ve allowed to pile up.

Mmm, good question. I did a lot of commission work in 2019, all of which I was really pleased with, and more importantly, so were my friends and clients.

I completely understand not being about to commit to such things when life gets busy as you mentioned. I still have ideas for Vices brewing in my head, just most of it’s not written down yet. What thoughts do you have regarding the love triangle between Yami, Yugi, and Anzu? How it was portrayed, how you would've liked to have it resolved (if different from canon), etc? For example, many Peachshippers see it as unfair that Anzu didn't notice Yugi's obvious dedication to her earlier in the series, but many Revoshippers give her a pass on the premise that she can't choose who she loves (and who can blame her, really? Yami is an amalgam of some of the most desirable qualities in a man).

My thoughts on the love triangle? To summarize from this post: "Encouragingshipping is an intriguing relationship but what prevents me from fully appreciate it is the underdevelopment of this pairing in the canon, and love triangles aren’t written well to fully explore all aspects of the three possible couples without demonized the characters."My feelings towards this love triangle hasn't changed from the previous post I made last year. However, I would like to expand my thoughts about them.

For starters, the love triangle is portrayed as a side conflict from the main story. However, there is a lot of "show don't tell" in the love triangle. The love triangle serves as an additional conflict but doesn't expand beyond that compare to Seto's conflict with letting go of his past and Yami's conflict on the pressure of saving the world while finding his identity. We, the fans are suppose to see conflict in the love triangle, but we mostly see Anzu's perspective on choosing between Yami and Yugi. We do see a brief mention on Yugi's feelings on Anzu like Yami better than him. His insecurities are strongly shown in the Noah Arc when Yugi is worried that Anzu did not see him as a reliable and strong person and thought that he is not worthy for others to consider him as someone who can help and save them.

We don't really see Yami's feelings towards both of them nor address the love triangle.I am also disappointed that Anzu and Yugi's relationship along with Anzu and Yami that neither of the are expanded. Especially with Anzu and Yugi since they were best friends when they are in elementary school. However, they grew apart due to circumstances. No matter how long or how close someone's bond with someone, over time people can change. I would think that Anzu wanted to bond with Yugi again and rekindle their strong bond since I imagine they went through a lot and their trust became strong over their times being together as children. I would believe that Anzu became jealous of Yugi's close bond with Yami because Yugi is a shy person and has difficulty opening himself up to other people due to his low self-esteem and personality. I bet that for both Anzu and Yugi, their relationship like most friendships take time to bloom over years and for them to be comfortable with each other. From Anzu's perspective, for someone to have a close bond with Yugi within a short amount of time she would at least feel at least some form of jealously. To see Anzu not expressing any type of resentment seems unrealistic for me. Or at least for Anzu to worry that her relationship with Yugi as best friend faded away due to the years apart and his bond with Yami. Personally for me, I would love for the series to at least reveal Anzu's more vulnerable side of her about her relationship with Yugi and seeing Anzu and Yugi attempting to bond together again to make up for the lost time.How I would love to see the love triangle resolved is seeing all three of them at least acknowledge it regardless if they successfully talk to each other or not.I would definitely love for Dsod to expand Anzu's feelings on Atem. Sadly, the movie reduce her to a side character and doesn't add anything with her relationship with Yugi that fans didn't already know. If you remove her from the movie, it wouldn't change the plot nor take away Anzu's relationship with Yugi. I would love for Atem to visit Anzu a year after the movie and cheering her on as well confessing how much he meant to her. I want Atem to open up and thank Anzu for supporting him and support her through her dancing career. He would be with her on Anzu's highest times, and times when Anzu is at her low and would do in his best ability as a spirit to help her achieve her dreams and make her happy.

hi I have a big problem with how Anzu is written in yugioh and I wonder how much you agree. She is so weak and helpless and i wish the anime gave her more important and more mature nature and more complicated personalty. She is even worse in fanfiction! Everyone writes like they hate her or she is like really girly and damsel in distress. How would you write her different? have you seen anyone write her better. Sorry i am new to your page if you answered this question already

Hello anon. I don’t believe I have this type of question before, so no worries.

I strongly disagree on Anzu is weak and helpless. She has a badass, take no shit attitude in season 0 yugioh (both anime and manga). Not only she defended Yugi from bullies, she also bashed the globe on a brainwashed professor so they can escape from Shadi’s control, guided the group in Death T to avoid falling blocks. Oh, it happen offscreen but she even punched a man for touching her butt at work and got fired from it (manga based). Her badass attitude got really toned down and got reduced into a love interest role, which I have to admit as an Anzu fan, I’m disappointed on Anzu’s wasted potential. I can see why some people aren’t fond of Anzu and seeing her as a non action girl if people are not familiar with season 0 Yugioh in both anime and manga. The creators were more focused on Joey, Yugi, and Seto’s character development more so than female characters. Shounen anime (at least back in the 90’s), are more focused on male characters since their intended main audience are young boys. Female characters were used by creators as as eye candy and have limited roles that are stereotypical. For example, love interest, clingy jealous girl, the nagging wife, etc.

Despite that her badass attitude is toned down from season 0, she is strong. I just wish that the creators expand more of her character and have more complicated personality. She’s certain of her future as a dancer for a 16 yer old which is impressive. How many 16 years old already knew what they want in the future? Many adults don’t know what they want in their 20’s. She’s adventurous, headstrong, and confident. Season 0 Yugioh revealed that she’s the type of person that believe one can make one’s future rather than passively get through life. She rejected the fake psychic’s services and said something like “That I can make my own future and see it for myself.”

She helped both Yugi and Atem open up more, find Atem’s past by suggesting to go to the museum, supported her friends to go on when they want to give up, doesn’t take Seto’s attitude, and discover Atem’s name. If it weren’t for Anzu discovering Atem’s name, Atem would lost to Zorc.

I saw people wrote Anzu pretty well as a well rounded person and doesn’t fall into the homophobic girl/slut shaming for the fan’s shipping, damsel in distress, or make her a villain. I have some fanfic recs that has Anzu as a well rounded person. Some fanfics have shipping and I tagged them.

If I were to write Anzu for a story, I would expand Anzu’s backstory on how she and Yugi became friends. I would expand more on how she is independent & adaptive from the traveling due her family’s work. I would write her as a headstrong woman, while trying to avoid making her short tempered. She’s an expressive person and is not afraid to show her emotions. However, she is not easily flustered unless it’s someone she likes or in extreme situations. Once she’s more comfortable with someone she likes, she’s not easily flustered. Being emotional does not make a person weak. She’s emotional, but as a dancer, she is able to express her emotions as well staying calm in stressful situations considering that she has to do dance auditions for scholarships. In the manga, Anzu is the one in charge for leading the group to avoid the falling blocks at Death T. I would write her as a strong person yet have insecurities when it comes to love.  She can be naive with trusting people too much, but she’s not taking shit from someone who mess with her. If a man cat calls her or say something sexist, Anzu would respond back with a sassy atttitude or call him out for cat calling.

26.) My biggest pet peeves

People who chew gum loudly in public.

People who don’t clean up after themselves when they finish eating at a fast food restaurant. Especially when they leave napkins and spills over the table and on the floor. It’s really rude to the people who work and they have to do the extra work for people who leave their mess. The workers are people, not your servant.

I dislike when people start saying “No offense but…”. You know, just tell the truth. I get more annoyed when people start this sentence as though they try to be nice and don’t offend anyone. Don’t beat around the bush. Just say it and we can get over it and figure it out.

I dislike people who overuse ~positive vibes~ cheesy quotes. For example, “Patience is a virtue” & “Live, laugh, love”. Same goes with people who always find a negative thing to everything.

I feel petty for this and I feel that I’m the only one who feels this way. This is more in social media, but I dislike people who say “Happy birthday” in a not sincere way. It’s just easy to see a pop up screen that said “It’s X’s birthday! Why not say happy birthday to this person?” It’s easy to just type in “Happy birthday” within a couple of seconds without any thought. I personally like when people do something special as a way to show they care about you through giving you a gift that you like or an object you have a personal connection. Or did something special with you. I personally would be extremely happy if someone gave me or did a meaningful gesture to show that they care, regardless if it’s my birthday or not rather than someone I don’t know saying “Happy birthday.” I also dislike people who guilt trip strangers in an aggressive or passive aggressive way to say happy birthday and if you don’t say it to them, they will make you feel bad. I understand if you feel angry to a close friend or your family if birthdays are important to you and them. But I think it’s an overboard when you demand people to stop what they are doing to acknowledge your birthday. This is why I don’t often post it’s my birthday post because I don’t want to have people feel guilty to say happy birthday to me. Or for a stranger to say happy birthday out of obligation. By not posting my birthday date, I don’t have to worry about all of this. Either way, I’m fine with getting birthday wishes or not. I shit you not, in my first year in college, a woman in my college dorm posted “It’s my birthday, come to my room” flyers and say happy birthday to me. In every hallway. And this was the first week of college. It’s fine to tell people that it’s your birthday today in a conversation, but to make flyers about declaring your birthday and expect strangers to stop what they are doing to go upstairs and say happy birthday?

Sorry, got ranty on the birthday part. It really grind my gears. I felt bad about ranting over this that is trivial.

36.) Where I would like to live

I would like to live in the city, but I would also like to live where I can easily go to a place that I can escape from the city life. I want to be able to find a hidden place within a city that is quiet, peaceful, filled with flowers and rivers, birds chirping. I enjoy nature and I can’t imagine living in a city that doesn’t have a nature place or a place that makes you feel like you are on a fantasy land.

38.) My childhood career choice

My career choice when I was a child was a scientist, but then I enjoyed having direct interactions with people. I also explored other interests that I wanted to do outside of studying facts and reading books.

haai :D you're a revolutionshipper right? i just wanna ask, does atem in your fics return to the modern world? and if so, how ? what's your way of him returning, like is there magic involved or the millenium items or something else? For the fanfics that has Atem in the modern world, I set the story in AU. To be honest, I find it difficult to find a plausible reason on Atem choosing to return to the modern world. I don't focus the explanation on how and why Atem returns to the modern world because it distracts the readers from the main story.

I understand the struggle to write a believable way on how Atem returns. I'm afraid that I'm not the best person to help for explaining how Atem wants to return to the modern world. Atem completed his journey to gain his name back, defeated Zorc, and went to Fields of Reeds to reunited his friends and family. My interpretation on Atem is that it's tough to see Atem returned to the modern world forever because Atem worked really hard and after thousands of years being unrest, he finally can rest in peace. I can't see Atem returning the world out of the whim, not even for shipping reasons because Atem is aware that his time in the world is already passed. He would wonder what is his purpose if he returned back. Not to mention that he would remain in the modern world until the end of time and will outlive Yugi and his friends.

I personally think that the reasons Atem didn't want to return is because he wanted to let Yugi continue to grow. Yugi grew and became self reliance because of Atem and it would be disservice for Yugi if Atem came back and took over Yugi again. For Anzu, Atem didn't want to provide Anzu with something that couldn't last or isn't possible or made her mourn and neglect her dreams and life. He wanted her to be happy instrad of mourning him. The thought of Anzu feeling depressed because of him, would make Atem sad considering that he wants his loved ones to be happy and treasured them.

I suppose that Atem returns to the modern world if the world is in danger and it required his help again. However, he would have to return to the Fields of Reeds after the world is saved. Or perhaps someone made a wish to bring back a dead and consequences happen and Atem have to stop the wish from happening. Or perhaps Atem feels like he's missing something after spending some time in the Fields of Reeds.

Hmmm I can see if someone dear to Atem is upset, I can see Atem appearing to Anzu and comforted he by hugging her to remind that their bond is strong, beyond time and the distance,, much to my revolutionshipping heart.

In fiction, how do you tell what is sex and what is smut? Like whats tasteful and what is basically porn? Can you give some examples?

Good question anon! The two most common terms in fanfiction when referring to the story with a explicit sex scene are smut and lemon. A lemon has an explicit sex scene, but there's a story that led up to the moment. Smut has no plot and it just contains sex. Now, the quality of the writing matters the most rather than which story fits out of the two. A lemon can be terrible if the plot isn't convincing or just dumb. For example, if the plot is about someone has a "problem" because the person cannot stop fantasizing the love interest and wants the person's love interest to screw them as fast as possible. The plot would have no build up and the characters are acting occ or the sex scene is too cheesy or cringy.

Putting this under cut because I will provide nsfw link as well describing smut and lemon explicitly.

Hopefully the answers that I provided helps you! I admit that I’m not the best for answering this considering that I don’t have much experience on writing smut/ lemon, but I’m decent on telling the difference between a good smut and a bad one.

A tasteful smut/lemon has good foreplay that leads the readers hot and bothered, teasing them for the anticipation of their favorite pairing having sex. The story is written with a reasonable descriptions of sensual touches that builds up the sexual tension between 2 characters. The scene contains not too much moans, grunts, and the characters doesn't have orgasm with every touch by their lover or every 3 minutes. The word choice for genitals aren't too technical with medical terms like penis, vagina, or anus. There's no cringy word choice such as cum dumpster, whore-titties (which btw it's degrading to women), mound of venus, wand, thick manhood, shiny rod, etc. You can point out more bad examples that you remember from reading lemons and smut.

Some examples of well written smut/lemon from Yugioh: Yes all of them are my otp and I will use my otp as examples because I love some good smut for this pairing. xD If it's your notp, well I can point out other pairings with decent smut/lemon.

Aww sorry to hear you feel that way Silver. It's true reccing stories isn't a common activity per se, but I do think it contributes significantly to the fandom since recs allow people to find more stories about their ships. It can even make someone once indifferent to a pairing, actually intrigued about it (maybe even more curious to find more about the said pair.) It's thanks to you I could discover plenty of great stories (like Ghost) - my bad for not showing you enough appreciation about it.

Thanks for the comfort. :) It was anon that made me think about this. Actually, I have this thought for a long time. The anon has no ill intention, but I was having serious thoughts about it considering that I wasn't active for writing during the 2016-2017. It doesn't help that 2016-2017 was a horrible year for everyone and it was hard to be happy. I bet that everyone is also struggling to find something that keeps them happy during the hard times & have hard time doing something they love whether it's art or something else.

It's true that recs do help people finding more stories about the pairings. FF net searches can be pretty long and no one got the time to read all of them.

I'm glad that the fanfics recs help you find stories like Ghost (did you find the story first before I rec it).  You don't need to apologize for it since reviewing and recommending fanfics are like janitors, working behind the scenes. It's not the most mind-blown thing to do, but it's important and can impact the fandom.

I miss your fanfic recs!

Same here for myself. Hmm I can't remember the last time I did them regularly. It partly due to school, work, and general loss of interest from myself and other people that led me stray away from fanfic recommendations. I was thinking whether or not I should continue it since last year because people do change their interest over the years. On the other hand,  I really enjoy analyzing and coming up with ideas of the meaning behind the themes regardless if people are into them or not.
