I upcycled the wine gift box.

I removed all the hardware and sanded off the finish.

I covered the entire box with the Craftbox Steampunk City paper collection. I then added the hardware back on.

I wanted a 3D look for certain items of interest I chose on the papers.

I cut out duplicate images and curved them using a ball stylus.

I popped up the images and curved them to give it depth.

The layering creates a fun dimensional twist to the box

I layered the steam pipes as well.

I curved the pipes with the ball stylus.

I layered them with foam tape.

I cut out additional elements to pop-up certain elements

I popped out balloons as well and applied Mod Podge to all elements to give strength to the 3D pieces.

I used Prima Art Alchemy Antique Brilliance Wax, White Gold4016) • Prima Art Alchemy Antique Brilliance Wax, Aged Brass (#963965)

I added the Paper Studio’s small metal handle to hang tags onto.

I coated the entire piece in Mod Podge to seal everything.

Simon Says Create 2019

Road Trip: Nanci and I spontaneously took a trip to attend the Simon Says Stamp held a two-day CREATE Event on March 15th and March 16th, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio at the beautiful Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center.

Create It, Take It: Besides the amazing classes (sold out), there were 25 vendors representing Create It, Take It and store experience.

Business Owners and Designers: Inside a large space, we were able to “create and take” projects featuring products from many of our favorite vendors. and newer ones, many of whom were there in-person at the event! In addition, we had a chance to meet some of our industry’s top designers! 

Giant Store/On-site Delivery: Thousands of items were on hand to purchase. And if Simon Says Stamps didn’t have it on hand, their team assisted folks with placing an order and have it delivered to them, in person! Kind of like pizza, but better!
